Honor 7 - move to SD - upgrade to 6 solve the probelm - Honor 7 General

Hi, hello all
I'm new there, so ff there was a similar topic, forgive me.
I bought a few days ago Honor 7 with 16GB intermal memory. I have also 32GB microSD card.
I read before buying that I can move all the applications on the SD card, but some I can't move - for example "Allegro" - its same as eBuy, but polish, and Facebook.
I'm also set SD card qua default memory, but I can't move all apps, and new install on internal memory.
It is beyond the root a way to move all the applications on the SD?
I read that update to android M allows you to extend the internal memory of the SD card, but is it true?
How to solve this problem?
Greetings,
Adam

*Some* apps cannot be moved to SD card, even if the phone has the feature. Its just like that - they can be installed in the internal memory only. This is true for any brand / model of android phones.
For the apps that are not movable to sd - you would see the "move to sd card" button grayed out in the system>app settings.
Upgrading Honor 7 to MM is not going to solve the problem. (As a matter of fact, i installed a beta update of MM (b304 firmware) that has been provided as a link in another thread in XDA - and NOW I AM NOT ABLE TO MOVE ANY APP TO SD CARD. Even worse, all my older apps installed in the sd card have 'disappeared'.
So ... cheer up, you are in a much better position than me ...lol.
Hope that helps.
Meanwhile, enjoy the marvelous phone - Honor 7

There is an app 'Link2SD', which I use on Honor7 with Lollipop and is quite flexible in what can be moved, or linked to the SD card. Not saying its the answer, but may do what you are wanting achieve. The developer has a section on XDA forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326

App2sd

hi everyone, im try to move some app on sd but cannot .. all install into internal 512..
how can solve this to move more app on sd?
tks
As Android is running from sd card, its pointless to move them.
i wanted to move games and apps to the SD as well to keep the phone memory free
Indeed I have same problem. Phone memory is iconic since it is still SD card (due to android running from SD card).
But even when the iconic phone memory is running out of space, android warns you as if it was real.

No move app to external sd...?!?!??!

So apparently since the android Jelly Bean update you can no longer move apps from the internal sd card to the external sd card. BULL**** (forgive my french) this is ridiculous why would they get rid of that feature? The 16gb s4 actually only has roughly 9ish gigs. That's not enough space if you download the big games nowadays. Has anybody found a workaround for this? Unfortunately you can't even use the app2sd app. I have a 32gb sd card waiting to be filled with apps so if anybody knows a workaround I would really appreciate the help! Also I would prefer not to have to root my phone.
*I have the At&t Samsung Galaxy S4 16gb model*
Download gl to SD from play store, you can move any data to external SD, just follow the directions.

Sadly I dont think rooting can even help... the sd slot just seems like they added it so people would buy the phone atleast thats why I got this in stead of the iphone..

Here's the app that you need. Move any data to external_sd.
DirectoryBind - move data to external_sd (GameLoft, Shadowgun etc.) ROOT req.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
EDIT: OOPS!!! DirectoryBind doesn't work on 4.2.2
(I'm still using it on my S2 w/Gingerbread. Waiting on the 32gb or 64gb S4.)
Have to use this instead:
[APP][ROOT] FolderMount - Link folders from internal SD to external to free space

Thats because they're installed to it automatically. Before when you moved to sd the apps moved from inernal to internal sd card, which is where apps installed on the s4. Ext-sd is your memory card you insert on back of phone. Stock app manager has never been able to move apps to ext-sd only sd card. Titanium back up and other apps can though. So remeber if you inserted a sd card in back you have three storage places. Internal, internal sd, ext-sd. Apps install to the 16 gig automatically on the s4.

OK, I'm not a full-on geek (e.g. I do not want to root my device), still I'm pretty savvy, but I don't understand what you've said here.
I just updated from a Samsung Stratosphere (Android 2.3.6) to Stratosphere 2 (4.1.2), so I'm now acclimating to JellyBean.
I moved my SD card from the Strat to the Strat 2 and can see in the File Manager the sdcard0 and the exSdCard.
You are saying that in addition to my inserting an actual, physical SD card, there is both internal storage and additional built-in storage (sdcard0)?
Three separate storage areas?
The "main" internal is for the OS?
The built-in SD is for apps?
And my additional external SD is for data (e.g. video, music, etc.?)
I'm confused because, while the phone is still zipping along smoothly, Settings/Storage is telling me that, in 24 hours, I've already gobbled up 4.3 GB of my 8 GB device memory, > 3 GB of this being "miscellaneous" files.
Meanwhile, my application mgr tells me I have used 1.1 GB with 3.7 GB remaining.
Mind you, I am not a heavy app user (e.g. Evernote, my bank's app, NY Times, Dropbox, a few simple games), so what took a 3 GB chomp of my internal memory. For the life of me, I can't remember how I did it, but I did move all "consumer" data (e.g. documents, video, photos, etc.) to be stored on the extSD but, in 24 hours, I don't have that much to store.
Bottom line, are we non-rooters slaves to the internal (SD?) memory for our apps?

Apps Moved to External SD Card are Moved Back to Phone upon App Update

I'm using OC4 (5.0.1), deodexed. I'm trying to save space on the phone by moving as many apps as possible to the external SD card. I have found, however, that anytime one of the moved apps is updated, the updated app is installed *entirely* in the phone (and none of it is on the external SD card).
I can, of course, move the app back to the SD card (manually).
Questions:
Does anyone know of a way to cause apps on the external SD card to STAY on the external SD card after update (my research indicates that this isn't possible in Lollipop, but I'm asking anyway)?
In the alternative, does anyone know of an app that will do a batch transfer of apps to the external SD card (yes, I know I can do it one-by-one, but a batch that I could run once a week would be awesome)? Generally, 25 of my apps are updated each week, making a batch routine particularly attractive.
Ever found out anything?

How to make google play download / update to the SD not the internal memory ?

Hello
i have S4 I9500 and the internal memory have no free space because of some apps cant be moved to the SD card
i moved all the files and apps to the sd but still no free space
the main problem with the google play , i need to update or download anything i cant
how to make it download or update to the SD card directly ?
or how to merge the internal memory with the SD ?
or how to force move this apps that can't be moved - pic attached - ?
any help please
Hi,
My recommendation is to remove any app that you don't need to preserve more space on your Internal Storage. These apps couldn't be moved to SD card because of Android's policy.
Another alternative is to use Link2SD. However, it requires at least 16 GB of MicroSD card for this (if you are installing many apps and move it all at once!). But, it requires some re-partitioning. Searching for guides on XDA or Google could help you a bit.

@krasCGQ: This is a continuation of his previous thread. His main issue is that he's unwilling to uninstall apps to free up the space. Links 2 SD will help however.
I am curious though. What is he running that takes up 9GB of storage space?

MicroSD Card as "Internal Storage"

Hello everybody,
I am used a 64gb SD card and would like to save the data on the card. For this I have used the function "Storage --> Storage setttings --> Default location" and set it to the SD card.
Everything as good as .... but when I create a second user I get message that this does not go because the SD card is in use.
The question is now whether there is a possibility to use the SD card as internal memory, so that both users of the M3 can use the memory?
Greetings

I would like clarification on the sd card as I want to put as much on it as possible and keep off the internal space.
Contact Huawei support for that one.
Did you ever get an answer on this question?
If you want to force it without Huawei's support, you might be able to use this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/auto-formatting-sdcard-to-internal-t3583875
I used that on my S8 for a bit, but be warned, no matter how fast your SD card is, it *WILL* slow your device down because in any modern, decently spec'd device, the internal storage is hugely faster than an addon SD card.
