odex error - xolo hive 8x 1000
i have rooted my mobile using king root and used lucky patcher. i have done odeing without knowing what it is. last night i got OTA from xolo and tried updating my phone.when it was updating it gave the following error
"/system/framework/core.odex has unexpexcted content"
"aborted updating.update error"
i dont have my unrooted firmware or anything also not able to get into recoverymode. thx in advance.help appreciated.

the kingroot method has not worked for me despite repeated attempts. is there a way where i can flash CWM/TWRP through SP tools (before rooting) and then flash SU through recovery? will that work? if YES, can someone be kind enough to please upload the necessary files here? i will be very grateful. thanks! BTW, im on stock kitkat 4.4.2.

finally got root with the help of latest kingroot 3.4.7. placed superuser in system/apps and changed the permission. but the binary cant be updated. keeps failing. so i uninstalled it and am using kinguser. is there any harm?

got it

Stuck in Boot Loop vs980
I just flashed Deviant vs980 Beta1.1, gapps-kk-20140606 and am now stuck in a boot loop. I tried deviant beta 2.1 and no gapps and still had constant reboots. Basically I'm stuck. In the OP a boot.img was mentioned...is that something that will help this? Right now I'm getting as far as signing onto wifi then it reboots. If I don't flash gapps with it then I can get it booted and after about 30seconds the loop continues.
Youtube
Updated my kernel to Dorimanx but I still can't play videos on youtube . it just loads and then stops nothing but a black screen. I'm on the LS980 and did a clean install
Can't root G2 LS980 after DeviantXone Flash
Spent all night going through ioroot & purpledrake. I finally found stumproot and that worked. I then used AutoRec to flash TWRP. I then flashed liquidsmooth, and then decided to flash straight to DeviantXone instead.
I'm not sure if I should have rooted afterwards or what, I just know that this phone is way harder to work with than any other phone I've had. After I flashed DeviantXone, Stumproot failed, and said my device isn't compatible. Any help would be great, I'm a noob and this is stressing me out.
Oh, I also heard talk about flashing stock firmware, and that that might help to root, but when I tried to download one of the tools, Chrome totally shot me down and wouldn't allow me to download because it was "malware". I know Chrome does that sometimes, but I decided to post before I did something stupid.
EDIT:
I used KingoRoot and it worked. Thanks
i know this is late and u got it rooted but i discovered all u have to do is once youve flashed this rom reenable devoloper options and there is an option to be rooted or not rooted in dev options

Unable to Root Tab 4
I recently bought a Tab 4 , it was below market price as it seems to be a tester device or pre-release you may say.
After buying it i tried to update the original firmware but it couldnt update.
Then i tried to root it , however it became softbricked and no matter what i did it never was able to install the RoM.
I also observed some bit increased in the initial display as when i turn it on the first screen i see is some commands on the top left side.
Anyway the shop i got it from they replaced it just this once. However now i am again unable to update firmware , even the google play is not updating the installed applications.
Can someone here advise me if this device in current settings can be rooted to install the original ROM. What should i make sure to check for before rooting...
Google Play gives error 492 after failing app updates.
Edit : i believe after i rooted the first one the bootloader got corrupted , also it said something about not being able to write to partition or something.
Bootloader Status??
Is the bootloader already unlocked on this device, or does one have to unlock it themselves?
Are there any developers that can make a custom rom for the t337t? I have not seen any floating around the internet

Few days ago I've resumed my work. New toolkit will have many more improvements. New engine, which will allow me to add new options. Now I'm working over installing bumped recovery over KK and JB bootloader. Version 2.0 will be realised soon.

Would you be so kind to explain what bumped means? No need to go into detail as I'm familiar with most of the concepts but I
have yet to find a definition of BUMPed.
(Yes I have googled, so please don't bother with lmgtfy )
Thanks for your toolkit, btw!

hi bro
I can use toolkit for lg g2 docomo l01f ?
It's not good idea to use it with another model than D802. Version V2.1 will allow you.

Can i use this tool for install magisk?
Or how can? Because g2 strict. LOCK BOOT

Yes, but it's difficult, because Toolkit is able to bump boot.img before installing, but magisk modify Your current boot.
I found script which allow You to bump currently boot.img. So at the begining You flash magisk, and before You will've leaved recovery, You should flash this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/cbump-bump-current-boot-image-t3325186

Change CM device check or Phone device id
I have a 201M, which means Japanese Motorola RAZR M from Softbank and identified as "scorpion_mini_t" by CM.
As the CM for scorpion_mini works perfectly for the australian one (scorpion_mini_u) and I already checked that they have the same processor, I'm quite sure it will work for mine device too.
DiamondJohn altered the CM installation zip file so the device check would look for scorpion_mini_u instead of just scorpion_mini.
I don't know how to do this and already tried searching.
Another option would be changing the device name. I already altered the build.prop, but when trying to install CM with CWM it keeps telling me it works for scropion_mini, but "this device is scropion_mini_t". I really can't find where CM installer gets this information from.

What I did (at my own risk) was find the "updater-script" file within the ZIP at \META-INF\com\google\android\ and then changed the very first line to include mine and replaced it back in. I think you would also need to turn of signing verification for your new frakenstein zip. You may also wish to let someone at CM know about your mobile, as after a few more releases, I found that the the flashable zips were changed, and I no longer had to do it.

Sorry for my ignorance...
but I can't understand if is it possible to flash a kitkat yotaphone 2 with this image,
or can I use it only if I already received the OTA lollipop update?
In Italy we're still waiting for lollipop!!
thank you so much!
P.S.: lollipop kernel source code request sent to yotaphone
Consider yourself to be lucky, as there are a number of ppl reporting battery drain with lollipop. Maybe you get a patched version by the time it hits your country.

There's a fair chance it would work with a kitkat device too, but I haven't tested that. To minimize risk, just boot the recovery once, (instead of flashing). For kitkat there's also at least one other way to root: with Kingoroot.
Edit: to be clear: the recovery image is not a complete ROM, so while it might work on kitkat to help root it by flashing SuperSU with it, it won't automatically upgrade your device to lollipop... Guess you'll have to wait or obtain a fota zip from somewhere (no, I don't have any for you . Thx for submitting a kernel source request, hope more people do the same
OTA update problem?
A few minutes ago I received a system update (with some buxfixes for EPD widgets etc.). Download was ok, but the installation didn't work.
Error: /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system has been remounted R/W; reflash device to reenable OTA updates; Error in /cache/update/yotaphone2-user-EU1.1.44-from-EU1.39.zip (Status 7); Installation aborted.
So with a rooted Yotaphone 2 (with Lollipop) I can still download but not install OTA updates, right? Can I integrate these updates manually somehow? But OTA update from Kitkat to Lollipop worked fine although it was rooted?!
Edit: "fastboot oem unlock" before using the modified recovery to root the phone is the problem and it's currently impossible to lock it again, correct?
Edit2: It seems I tried the same things as Jeopardy. So the solution is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61451450&postcount=22
