Change CM device check or Phone device id
I have a 201M, which means Japanese Motorola RAZR M from Softbank and identified as "scorpion_mini_t" by CM.
As the CM for scorpion_mini works perfectly for the australian one (scorpion_mini_u) and I already checked that they have the same processor, I'm quite sure it will work for mine device too.
DiamondJohn altered the CM installation zip file so the device check would look for scorpion_mini_u instead of just scorpion_mini.
I don't know how to do this and already tried searching.
Another option would be changing the device name. I already altered the build.prop, but when trying to install CM with CWM it keeps telling me it works for scropion_mini, but "this device is scropion_mini_t". I really can't find where CM installer gets this information from.

What I did (at my own risk) was find the "updater-script" file within the ZIP at \META-INF\com\google\android\ and then changed the very first line to include mine and replaced it back in. I think you would also need to turn of signing verification for your new frakenstein zip. You may also wish to let someone at CM know about your mobile, as after a few more releases, I found that the the flashable zips were changed, and I no longer had to do it.

Unable to Root Tab 4
I recently bought a Tab 4 , it was below market price as it seems to be a tester device or pre-release you may say.
After buying it i tried to update the original firmware but it couldnt update.
Then i tried to root it , however it became softbricked and no matter what i did it never was able to install the RoM.
I also observed some bit increased in the initial display as when i turn it on the first screen i see is some commands on the top left side.
Anyway the shop i got it from they replaced it just this once. However now i am again unable to update firmware , even the google play is not updating the installed applications.
Can someone here advise me if this device in current settings can be rooted to install the original ROM. What should i make sure to check for before rooting...
Google Play gives error 492 after failing app updates.
Edit : i believe after i rooted the first one the bootloader got corrupted , also it said something about not being able to write to partition or something.
Bootloader Status??
Is the bootloader already unlocked on this device, or does one have to unlock it themselves?
Are there any developers that can make a custom rom for the t337t? I have not seen any floating around the internet

Which version are you running? Is it the current unified build or the one posted in the Dev section here? If you're using the unified, read the entirity of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531983 to see if your answer is in there. If you're using the one from the dev section, try the unified build.
I'm running the unified build "stable" from November. I had one call with no audio, but it was fixed by a reboot. I have not had any problems with the softkeys. What do you mean by "stuck"? It acts like it's continually held down or it does not respond? These days many programs do not let you use the back button in the way you expect.
If you do not find anything useful in the thread I posted, you should start a new thread, ask your question again and include answers to above questions instead of asking questions about SlimKAT in a thread about SlimBEAN. I doubt many people are running SlimBean anymore so nobody will look here and it is the wrong place anyway.
In general it's a bad idea to ask what rom to run because the thread is then either useless or an argument. I'm pretty sure it's against the rules as well. I have never had a perfect rom on this phone. Stock ones had a few issues and Verizon annoyances. Many people have had a worse experience with stock KK than JB. I think all the non-stock roms have a few bugs. You just have to research which ones you can live with. For me, SlimKat is working the best out of what I've tried.

Well I would think that you would need a working custom recovery with external SD card support first. Though the big feature I am looking forward to is a kernel that supports Roehsoft Ram Expander (swap) which while it works fine on my S3 does not work at all on the Tab 4 7.0.

well on my tab 7.0 swap work perfect ! and it's supported in samsung kernel configuration :good:
T230/T231 CM11 boot error
Hi All
I am hoping someone can assist with the following error I am getting when attempting to boot CM11 on my Galaxy Tab 4 7" (T231)
I am using the repo in the following post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59638497&postcount=31
It seems Sultanxda was able to boot the device (T230), however the CM11 boot animation starts and fails with the following error (logcat):
http://pastebin.com/chtruDX7
Thanks in advance!
Cannot reply to thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59638497&postcount=31 ) as I have not posted enough on the forum :/
Anyway ..
So I had finally got CM11 to boot on my T231 3g model, but it is laggy and nothing is working (no wifi, mobile, sdcard, bluetooth)
I have used MaxiCM (https://github.com/maxicm"]https://github.com/maxicm) device tree and T231 kernel from Samsung to get it up and running with some tweaks / hacks.
This is my first attempt at porting a ROM (chose a bad device) and with limited time will not allow me to invest more time into it, I hope there are experienced ROM developers who will invest more time and effort into this, CM will run much better than Samsung's Touchwiz.
I will follow and learn from other devs on how to port roms as I would like to attempt this in future.

I hope your system version is out of date.
If you don't want to root and install any custom ROMs , update your software version and try!!
I tried using the build.prop in first port of this thread.
I'll admit right off the bat that I am a dumbass and didn't read the entire thread. Actually, I was a double dumbass and used a build.prof from a Droid Ultra. It made my screen resolution weird. All the icons were too big and the text overlapped.
So my phone is 183.46.15... The first build.prop file in this thread is for 183.46.10.
It DOES work on my phone. HOWEVER, my phone keeps prompting me to download the OTA update to 183.46.15... Which I already have.
I suspect that downloading the OTA update will not only break my HotSpot capability, but also my root access.

Sorry for new thread, sigh.
It kinda works, though unreliably. I find it pretty stable though, if I reboot, and then enable hotspot from settings app (not with notification area button).
PS battery's been pretty solid for me, no worse than cm12 (which was very close to stock).

Yeah, use the original one. I had to create this one, because it wouldn't let me post there (I have to have 10 posts to be able to post there apparently, duh).
That home.sunggu.me link is I believe served by his home desktop, which is not turned on all of the time. So, I guess we'll just have to keep trying.
Hello, this is the newest Rom cm-12.1-20150807-UNOFFICIAL-frescolteskt ?
