Wow that's crazy but it probably doesn't surprise me since I just found out a day ago that after I disabled the pre-loaded Facebook application it automatically re-enabled itself and updated automatically. I disabled it again this morning and just now it prompted me it updated itself. Samsung or T-Mobile needs to fix this. If I explicitly disable something I expect it to stay disabled.

Strange

The thing is you have to force disable. Since the messenger is also built it. They end up enabling each other. I removed both of those as well. I just hope this isn't another thing like CIQ.

Both were disabled at the same time. The Facebook Messenger has stayed disabled just not the main application

Wow that is strange then....

Wow! I was going to wait a couple days before rooting, but I guess I'll do it immediately.

I would remove the T-Mobile App as well. That app monitors your phone. It also can see that your rooted.

I reviewed that apk. Ims service doesn't have a third of those permissions. Not to mention this is a logger app not a service app. Amd ims service is just a couple kbs where as ims logger is 5mbs. Good find though.

Agreed. My phone works fine without it as well. If it was tied to wifi calling, it would it permissions but the phone app?

Also the ims service is still present
Which is why i think the logger is unnecessary

Did. Not noticing anything as of yet. But I still kind of want to know what it is
It appears to also have a sub-class called "remote", so I kind of wonder if this is doing any sort of external data transfer.

I am not 100% sure...
But I ran some CIQ tests to see if it was involved with that and it was not.
I removed it 100% from my soon to be current ROM with no notable ill affects.
However, soley by the name and what you just pointed out about the sub class...
I would guess you that its some sort of IQ Agent that will take a drop box of data and transfer them to LG like Samsung does.
Just an educated guess.
Has anyone figured out yet what this is? It can be disabled without root, freeing up memory. But I'd like to know what I'm disabling.
Does it have to do with the context app that lets you quickly go to a contact or search based on what text says

I think you're talking about text link which can be disabled without root.
I was looking at another forum, it has something to do with auto connecting and managing connections (wifi, gps, bluetooth, etc.)
Mine is weird and I turn it off, and wifi doesn't turn on by itself anymore (good thing) my wifi used to randomly turn on oddly. but yea. Idk, just a thought out there.
I wonder if this is the utility that does the Wi-Fi-4G handoff for MMS.
I lost that ability and couldn't figure it out.

You are on to something here.
I sent a mms over Wi-Fi success, then froze LG Intelligent Agent and tried to send over Wi-Fi and fail. Turned Wi-Fi off sent mms and the picture went.
Not sure what the program does but it appears to have something to do with network messeging.

[Q] Volume changes sporadically on AT&T Galaxy S5 - can I log changes?

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 bought through AT&T, and the volume (ringer/system volume from silent to vibrate to loud and vice versa) seems to change sporadically on its own. I'm unable to identify the cause. I put the phone into safe mode, and as far as I know, it doesn't change the volume on its own when in safe mode, so I have reason to believe it's from an app I installed. I currently have Volume Locker installed as a temporary solution. This problem never happened on my Galaxy S3 through AT&T, with no different apps installed after upgrading. I do not have any apps that change the volume profile.
Question: is there a way I can log (in real-time) volume changes and also the apps that put in the request for these changes?

I've never hear of an app like that, but it's most likely turning on in your pocket. The S5 has very high tough sensitivity so even in your pocket it can change things without you knowing.

I thought the same thing too, but I've left my phone completely alone, and it'll still switch sound modes on its own. It has to be an app.
Anyone have any ideas on this app business or logging? In Developer options, there's a setting where I can turn on OpenGL traces...could this possibly monitor actions? I have no idea how to use it and don't know what it does.

Not rude at all. I actually already replaced it once, and it's doing the same thing. My fault for not mentioning that sooner. If asked why not get a different phone, the answer is because I don't want to.

Late or Missing Notifications (S7)

Is anybody with the S7 on tmobile having problems with various apps delivering push notifications late or not at all? I've noticed this specifically with my Gmail and facebook apps. I will get a notification about a message 15 minutes after I already received and checked it on the web version on my computer if not at all. I came from an S4 and never had anything like this before. I have turned off the power saving feature that suppresses background app activity options. And it still happens even though it shows that accounts are synced. I have no issues with text messaging notifications or anything directly related to the carrier.
It happens both on WiFi or mobile data. It is really frustrating!!!
Thanks
Same exact problem. If I remember correctly I think I had the same problem with the S6 edge
Is it due to app optimization?
I was have the same issue with my G4 on 6.0 with att , I switched to T-mobile for the S7 Edge, and I still have the same issue with Gmail as i did with my G4, I`m wondering its 6.0 problem. edit I did shut off battery app optimization , but mine still does it.

I had the same problem with sms and mms, I turn off voice over LTE and wi-fi calling everything working flawlessly.
Well, I'm noticing that the problem seems worse over wifi, which sucks if I have to use only data all the time.

here's something I noticed, I have 2 different gmail accounts and the secondary one was the one that had issues with the notifications, I transferred all this with smartswitch. so I deleted the transferred account and readded it and problem solved, I get notifications instantly again
I think I fixed the Gmail notifications. For some reason there was a setting within the Gmail app that was unchecked. It was labeled "Sync Gmail". Even though I had Sync set within the system settings, it still didn't matter since the setting within the app wasn't checked.

Always on display 1.3.14 update question (June)

I swear that an update to the always on display automatically installed the other day. However, I can't find the app in the Galaxy Store to check. (Why doesn't it show up there? I'm sure that's where the update installed from) Anyway, I'm on version 1.3.14 now.
It used to be that if the phone was in my pocket or face down on the table that the always on display would turn off. I liked that behaviour. Now it seems that it stays on all the time regardless. (I do still have the "Keep screen turned off" setting enabled) Has anyone else updated and noticed this?
(I wanted to write a review question on the app but as mentioned I couldn't find it in the store)

I just tested placing the phone face down and the AOD eventually turned off as it usually does. So I can't reproduce your issue sorry. I'm using the regular S7 though.
Also, I can't seem to manually find the Always on display app in Galaxy Store either - quite mysterious.

Your able to view the log when you manually update and click into the app on this Galaxy Store. Samsung needs to fix this.

Yes, I've disabled automatic updates. Manual updating gives me much more control, and prevents automatic installation of updates which may cause problems etc. If everything's working well, I don't see much point updating (aside from security patches).

Hello,
I have the same issue, it will not turn off after the update if the phone is in my pocket, prior to the update it did. Also the AOD Display is now not moving, it just stays on one place, which brings the fear of screen burn in issues. How can i disable/deinstal the update?

No need to désinstal,, after update the AOD is moving by about just one pixel,so you can't note it,,and it moves visibly each 1 hour.
How can I get rid of the update and go back to old version? Night clock only 18hrs... used to be whole day

Honestly i made a little experience to see if display is moving by one pixel a minute,,and what i found is that display is not moving at all,,expect once per hour.
why wont my S7 get AOD update?
My S7 (SM-G930F) is not getting the new AOD update - it is still on Version 1.1.06
I am not using cellular data, just wifi (which has a funny firewall - could this possibly be preventing update?) the wifi allow for most all internet functions, and other app updates, Play Store downloads, etc...
Can anyone find a way I can get the update?

WIFI Calling now available

This morning I received an ota that enables wifi calling. It's about time AT&T gave us this feature. Not sure what else was in the ota but I'm sure they patched the security holes that everyone has been talking about lately. There's no information available yet but as soon as I find it I'll post it. Screenshots show ota software version and wifi calling.

AT&T cloud backup for SMS/MMS with default messaging app. It was syncing all day on my BFs G5 until I turned it off after work. He said it kept killing his battery. (I'd hate to see what the data is on his line too thankfully he was home on Wifi the majority of the day) It completely borked MMS on my S7 edge when AT&T pushed the update, had to install Google messenger to get a picture to come through or be received. It probably failed 70-80% of the time. May want to keep an eye on that if you use the default messaging app.
