why would you want to buy an S5 to use HTC rom, you lose half the functionally, just but the M8

Using blinkfeed^ from above post and nova launcher with htc m8 theme will get you what you want.

It has weather and clock as well as the email widget (still think it is horrible) , and it does have the sgs 2 lockscreen and a lot of galaxy s 2 apps

I am being generous responding to this thread...(bored)
The Note is on the Touchwiz framework...the app would basically have to be rewritten from the ground up. OR someone would have to build a Rom on Touchwiz framework.
Short answer is nobody is going to do this...Not going to happen.

I've seen a custom rom using touchwiz I'm not sure if it would be possible to use that and then use a port for multiview from the note 2
there is an app called multiscreen, i havent looked how it works on the s3 but it looks a cool app, been tempted to get it.

this is exactly right. Its very much encoded into the touchwiz framework. So much so that there's a port of the entire gnote2 Rom ported to the att galaxy s3 but the multiview is still inop

I use stick it player for pop up play like the s3
The US variants of the S3 still don't have it. I would assume a non touchwiz device wouldn't be getting it before the us variants do. Maybe the guys who ported TW to n7 could do it?

The only second question anyone could give you is 'why'?
Get an s3 it'll def be going there. You've got modifications of the gs4 launcher etc.
You stand more chance of Santa Claus inviting you out to dinner than someone porting Samsung's android variant. You can mod most things to look like anyway

I'd think if the devs wanted to go through the trouble of porting a ROM from a new, 1080p device it would be the HTC One not the S4. Not that they do want to spend their time resizing images while the update is coming eventually.

Install the original s5 touchwiz. Check the themes-apps forum. I'm using it now, without any bugs and works flawlessly. I love it Also using the new s5 browser which is much better and smooth than the s4 one and also the new accuweather widget
The new touchwiz should ALREADY be available to at least s3 and s4. Samsung should realize that abandoning older hardware won't make me buy the their new phone. Instead it will make me not to buy from Samsung ever again.
