FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS:

Steps:
1. Flash LT15i firmware .ftf via Flashtool.
2. Enter recovery by command: fastboot boot recoveryARC.img
A recovery menu will appear in your phone.
3. Sets scripts assets: ENABLED
4. Flash RootXperia.zip via recovery. You have to copy RootXperia.zip to the SD card previously.
5. Reboot device and it´s done. Now device is rooted.
4.Install ringtones&Wallpapers
First firmwares came with more ringtones, alarms. Here is a copy. You have to put the three folders (ringtones,alarms,notifications)replacing in system/media with rootexplorer:

The difference is:
LT15 xperia arc
LT18 xperia arc S
Yes LT18 firmware also works on LT15
I think the better is the one designed for your model

Any difference from the Generic Germany one that makes flashing this one worth, there isn't one, is it?

Thanks for your sharing!! Finally have someone release a generic world .42 firmware with a root method beside having to downgrade to 2.3.3. I flashed it last night and the batter life seem much better than the generic HK 368 firmware I used. May be my lt15a just don't like the HK firmware and baseband because I had poor battery life for that firmware but it was not happened to 2.3.3 generic world I used before the update. Now the the battery life go back to the excellent condition it was when I used generic world firmware for 2.3.3. I am not sure if it is just my phone or it is the generic hk rom.

thanks for rom, just flashed with flash tool and working fine also root was super duper easy just clicked the lock button on flash tool and volia D:

In a german community some are saying that they already got the update, but they wont show you any screenshots or are creating a ftf file. They only give you fake dl links or links to generic es/tw/......

In Germany it is defenitly out. A friend of mine has a german Xperia Z (Vodafone) and already got an Update to Android 4.2.2
I have a DE/FR/IT one (from Sony Bravia deal) and dit not get the update yet...

As you can see in the list, it's only out for 'Vodafone DE', not for other German customizations ('Generic DE', 'o2 DE' and 'Telekom.de DE'):

As Apollo89 told already ... vfd is the only Provider in Germany who has released it already. you can check it yourself, by following the link which has already been posted.

It's quite strange Vodafone has it before it is available for unbranded phones... But no, it is not out on my German xz. Just wait or flash another customization, have a look at the search if you want to.

We noticed this already in previous updates.
Vodafone Germany is always fast ... also on Samsung devices.
The last Update was also on T-Mobile DE much faster than on unbranded Devices.
This should be a problem with the process at Sony or the country. Germany and UK are the last Countrys in their list to get the update. They never rollout an update on the same time world wide.
This can just be accidentally that Germany is one of the last countrys in Sonys Rollout-Policy or ...
- a question concerning patents
- other formulism (Regulation like FCC/IEC or what ever is needed to Import/Export the device with changed Software into that Country)
- Expiriences that people in some countrys are much more concerned about quality, so that some countrys might skip that update (i.e. other frequencys which doesn't work that good in that country or cause shorter batterie life, ...)
Also on Samsung Devices Germany is one of the last Countrys who is getting the Updates.

The TFT not working was not his fault, Thats 1
2. he said multiple times that it is vodafone branded, also the name of the TFT was clear enough, don't come here bi***ing and moaning behind his back, he was trying to help us and he did nothing wrong

Nordic Combined firmware is firmware made for Sweden/Denmark/Norway. It works fine on all C6903 devices and is the cleanest customization there is. No branding, no bloatware.

Just different names, I think Customized NCB might be the correct name for the Z1, but whatever, all it means is that this is the ROM that people in the Nordics (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland) get on their phones if they buy them from a non-carrier source. It is unbranded and contains no bloat.

Yes and yes, no bloat from carriers, contains all Sony software, can be flashed on literally any C6903, just like I said in OP.
It might potentially not contain APNs for your carrier, as it only guarantees correct settings for the nordics, but your carrier should push those out to your phone automatically if not, and you can always enter them yourself.

Ohhh yeahhhh. I have flashed this on a german z1 with flashtool. I have an unlocked bootloader with broken camera.
Everything work fine!!!!

It's not for the Z1 Compact... As I said, I scanned all C6902, C6903, C6906 and C6943 customizations, and this one showed for C6903.
Finally I'm returning from work and very soon I'll upload the FTF (already got the SIN_FILE_SETs).
Unfortunately, finding all changes will not be that easy since this branding jumped directly from 14.1.G.2.257 to 14.2.A.1.142, but I'll try comparing it to an unbranded 14.2.A.1.136, it might give some hints.

Please share any new thing you find (if any). My bet is that .142 (for Z1 and Z1 Compact) is a variant especially made for Telekom.de, with some minor modifications to suit the operator's needs, but that's my guess.

New firmware 14.2.A.1.142 certified for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact .
Sony Mobile has just certified a new firmware build with version number 14.2.A.1.142 for the Xperia Z1 (C6902, C6903, C6943, C6906), Xperia Z Ultra (C6802, C6833, C6843, C6806) and Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503). This new firmware most likely brings some bug fixes and performance enhancements, given that the small incremental number upgrade from the last firmware (14.2.A.1.136)

I wouldn't bother either, I'm staying on 14.1.G.1.534 until KK 4.4 is available
Still, sharing updates is vital.

Hello Community, I have tried hunting through all of the FTF Collection Thread on XDA but cant find the latest Lollipop FTF flash file for Sony Xperia Z1, Unbranded Uk release, I hope someone help me out as i tried awhile back and got no reply to my previous messages via the FTF thread,

I just tried to download the 270. FTF file via PC Companion app but it gave me a failed message saying my device has corrected and modified firmware so am unable to update my device no longer :/
my only way to update am guessing is via flashtool once i manage to get ahold of the latest lollipop FTF unbranded uk flash files

I already tried via xperiafirm and didnt find a 270. FTF for none branded Euro or Unbranded UK, only has branded o2
