Nordic Combined firmware is firmware made for Sweden/Denmark/Norway. It works fine on all C6903 devices and is the cleanest customization there is. No branding, no bloatware.

Just different names, I think Customized NCB might be the correct name for the Z1, but whatever, all it means is that this is the ROM that people in the Nordics (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland) get on their phones if they buy them from a non-carrier source. It is unbranded and contains no bloat.

has anyone tried that after this update, unlocking bootloader will crash camera?

I am neither moaning nor complaining, as a matter of fact I understood correctly and eventually decided not to download: I was just making a sort of summary of what happened on the other side , to justify my confirmation here.

u mean no bloat from carriers, rite? It still has all sony software?
this ok on an italian unbranded phone?

Oops, had my torrent client set to super-seed, my connection is good enough to skip that kind of distribution, should be MUCH faster now.

Yes and yes, no bloat from carriers, contains all Sony software, can be flashed on literally any C6903, just like I said in OP.
It might potentially not contain APNs for your carrier, as it only guarantees correct settings for the nordics, but your carrier should push those out to your phone automatically if not, and you can always enter them yourself.

Ohhh yeahhhh. I have flashed this on a german z1 with flashtool. I have an unlocked bootloader with broken camera.
Everything work fine!!!!

Just try this Rom, everything are smooth. However, one thing I'm notice is "data roaming " is change back to old one,
I mean before flash this Rom, I have option to choose "national" or "international " roaming.
There is a way to get this option back?

I don't know if it's possible.
In Portugal there's no national roaming (small country), so I guess that behavior might be different depending on which country's ROM variant you use.
I'd suggest you try another 10.3.1.A.0.244 ROM (there are several available) if you need national roaming.
Thank you for your replied,
Yes I agreed that I have to try other Rom. However I like this Rom because of NFC logo. Do your have recommended Rom that have nfc logo enable. But I don't want to root this device,. Thank you very much
I knows that it's easy to enable if root but

So excited to see what brings to us!
but seems that is just for the Z1 compact, as i have seen earlier today
cheers
It's not for the Z1 Compact... As I said, I scanned all C6902, C6903, C6906 and C6943 customizations, and this one showed for C6903.
Finally I'm returning from work and very soon I'll upload the FTF (already got the SIN_FILE_SETs).
Unfortunately, finding all changes will not be that easy since this branding jumped directly from 14.1.G.2.257 to 14.2.A.1.142, but I'll try comparing it to an unbranded 14.2.A.1.136, it might give some hints.

Please share any new thing you find (if any). My bet is that .142 (for Z1 and Z1 Compact) is a variant especially made for Telekom.de, with some minor modifications to suit the operator's needs, but that's my guess.
New firmware 14.2.A.1.142 certified for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact .
Sony Mobile has just certified a new firmware build with version number 14.2.A.1.142 for the Xperia Z1 (C6902, C6903, C6943, C6906), Xperia Z Ultra (C6802, C6833, C6843, C6806) and Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503). This new firmware most likely brings some bug fixes and performance enhancements, given that the small incremental number upgrade from the last firmware (14.2.A.1.136)

Size: 0.99GB (1,072,750,184 bytes)
Compiled this one after debranding all the Telstra rubbish from my Z1c
(I think that damn captcha is harder than flashing the rom)
Thanks heaps. This is the 1st Australian ROM I've seen for the compact. Plenty for the Z1 but not the compact.
How did you get 14.4.A.0.108 for a telstra branded phone? I just plugged my phone into my PC to check and it is still telling me 14.3.A.0.757 is the up to date version for my Telstra branded phone.
Are the Z1 and Z1c roms any different? I don't have one to check.
I downloaded it through the Flashtool program. Written a tutorial here if you ever need to get the software yourself.
Nice write ups.
For all intents and purposes the Z1 and Z1 compact firmwares are the same. I think I remember seeing a guide here for converting Z1 firmwares for use on the compact. It wasn't as simple as just flashing the Z1 firmware unfortunately.
Based on your OP I thought you'd received the Telstra branded firmware and then used root privileges to delete all their crap before making a ftf backup. However, having read your seperate write up I'm guessing the generic file was downloaded using flashtool and the ftf made from that?
---------- Post added at 07:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:52 AM ----------
Yeah that captcha is painful but it goes away once you reach 10 posts
Yep that's right!
i had the telstra firmware before on my z1c but after rooting it and updated it with sony companion soft, it just automatically given me the generic fw after that which is nice!

If you are flashing this over a newer firmware version, then a full wipe is essential.

No. No need to wipe anything if upgrading, so make sure nothing is ticked in the wipe section if you want to keep your data.

30 downloads! I suppose it works fine for everyone then, as nobody complained!

And 1
That's about right. Ratio of thanks to downloads seems to be about 3% on xda
eg: my stock based kernel - 1700 downloads, 51 thanks.
Hahaha. 100 downloads now, so 1%! Never mind lol.

Nothing. Some people call generic roms customised because they are customised for that particular region.

Im more of a beginner in this field so I would want to know why the UK generic version is much awaited. I run the Indian generic version. Is the UK one better, should I flash my phone with the UK one?

Some people like to keep the original software from the country they live in on their phone.
No firmware from any region is better or worse than any other. The only difference is the preinstalled apps bundled in the rom are usually different between countries.
There's no reason for you to flash this if you're already on 283. I haven't been on Generic UK firmware for over a year myself.

Oh Thank you. My phone is getting a lil slower so was wondering whether reflashing it would help me in any other way and the buzz created around the UK rom was a lot so I thought this rom is better
I have C6602 in China. Can I flash this rom?
I have already got 4.4.4, but china version has no google framework.
thank you

Yes you can, but you should use a C6602 rom like this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2876962

Can anyone help me?
I'm trying to install AOKP on my work colleague's C6630 (Xperia Z) which is from O2 in the UK, the bootloader allowed says No and I've tried the flashtool and the process shown in this thread, none of the root methods in the flashtool are working and the FlashMode doesn't respond when I attempt to install the generic UK rom, shows a quick red led, then a quick green led, then nothing.
I can carry out ADB or flashboot commands by going into those modes but nothing that will let me root or install a custom recovery partition.
I'm stuck and can't get any further, even though a lot of the guides here say you should still be able to get root while the bootloader is locked.
Thanks for this. After a major bootloop this helped bring my device back to life...

didn't work for me, it's stuck on a cycle of rebooting, then when loaded says a few things have stopped working then reboots again, restarts and repeats process! oh but when rebooting it goes through the optimising apps first 1 of 122 etc which takes a while.
So there is no way of stopping the process and no way of stopping the phone from restarting! basically my phone is now a brick!
