[Q] Galaxy note 3 Inactive other lock screen methods 😯 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
Could you help me please!
I can't change the method of locking screen with my unrooted Galaxy note 3,
Other methods are inactive:
[Swipe + Signature + Pattern]
(Details written under those methods:
"Turned off by Administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.")
There are only two active methods:
[Pin + Password]
What to do?

If you have encrypted your phone, there's only few options for lock.

Thank you for responses my friend.

It's by clearing Credentials
Settings > General > Security > Storage credential [Clear credential]

[Q]Help! Xolo Q700 pattern lock, face unlock, not working. Only Pin & Passwords works
Before someone says that i better search this forum before posting, let me say that i have indeed searched the entire forum and have encountered a few people who had the same problem but some how that got resolved after resetting the "clear credentials"..
Okay so i am putting my problems here with some info about my phone:
My Phone is rooted.
A few weeks back i had formatted the SD card, repartitioned it and installed Link2SD which is working fantastically
All this while i had pattern lock installed and then, i decided to change the unlock patterns and suddenly the option to unlock along with all the other options has been disabled with the following " disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage".
What all i have tried :
i have tried reset credential storage: no result
i have tried to disabled "Android Device Manager" : No Result
i have disabled the XOLO Secure Extra Security : Not able to uncheck it , tried and failed ... it just doesn't uncheck
I have reset Xolo Secure and removed the password and done what i could to ensure that i do not enable security, but still, am not able to uncheck Xolo Secure Extra Security in Settings >>Security >> Device Administration
Please help ... am really frustrated...

I don't think so because Xolo Secure is factory app, try deleting that xolo app using any root file manager or You Can Always Flash Q700i Firmware with app2sd enabled.

Hey so believe me ..... I had a similar problem.....What I did was pretty simple....!!!!!
Step 1 check if the app can be deleted if not .....it is bloatware
Step 2 :
Well root your phone ....if u haven't check out this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791108
Step 3 :
Check out an app called nobloat, install it(it is present on the play store)
Step 4 :
Open it and remove the xolo secure app.
Step 5 :
If u want (u can use the link) u can download cwm recovery....
Step 6:
Boot into it and wipe dalvik cache and factory reset.
Well this is it ....remember to back up your device before factory reset....mostly it should work on clearing credentials after u have deleted the app ....but if it doesn't then follow step 5 and 6...
Hope I have helped !!!!

Reactivation Lock isn't turning ON after Lollipop Update

My model is the N910C with the exynos processor. After updating to lollipop I can't turn on the Reactivation Lock in the Security Settings. Every time I check the box and enter the Samsung credentials, when it goes back it is unchecked It is driving me crazy. I checked findmymobile to verify that this wasn't just a visual bug. It really stays Off! I 'm stock, not rooted and with no custom recovery of course
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Doing a hard reset isn't an option .
Maybe if I wiped one of the system's app data it would fix it. I tried to wipe the "Remote Controls" apps but it didn't do anything. HEEELP :highfive:
enroll the device at samsungknox and use the knox reactivation lock. much more secure anyway.

Not the answer I was looking for but thanks for your input. Do you mean to enable the "Turn on KNOX active protection" option in Security? It says it may affect device perfomance and this kept me from having it disabled.
yes it wont affect device performance.

Odin error flashing Nand Start Stop Fail for Note 4 (or maybe lollipop device)

Hi Guys
As seen the title above, I got this problem when about rooting my phone, work out using this solution
So here we goes :
1. Go to Setting - security - uncheck (deactivate) the reactivation lock
2. At the same security window uncheck the KNOX protection
3. Also at the same security window, press clear credentials and clear
4. Re-odin what ever you want to do
Done
See if that worked for you, mine are flawlessly go after do that setup
but just remember you cant reactivate it when your phone are rooted
Thank you
Chris

How to fix Clear credentials disabled/grayed out???

Hi,
I have a N910C Exynos (oem) on Lollipop and i´m tryning to wipe my credentials but in the Security options the "Clear credentials" option is disabled/grayed out. How can i turn this option on??
Explain and Things that i already tried:
Problem starts after i tried to root my galaxy. It was already in 5.1.1 (OTA installed) and when i tried to root i got a boot loop.
- I did the factory reset wiping cache and data/factory reset and still got on boot loop
- Tried to return to original condition installing by Odin the 4.4.4 stock version but got sw rev check fail .... 2 binary 1 on android screen and Fail status in Odin
- Tried to install 5.0.1 and same thing
- Installed 5.1.1 normal.
- After boot up, Clear credentials (as some other features, like lock screen) was already grayed out
- Tried to do a downgrade and Fail
- Tried to do the encrypt and decrypt the SD card, but same thing
- Tried to unlock screen with samsung find my phone, change to pattern mode, choose a pin code after pattern, reboot, put the wrong pattern on porpouse but it never ask for the pin so i could try to use google account to reset
- Tried to uncheck and check every admin
I tried pretty much everything that everyone write on this forum and internet. Nothing seems to work.
Is there any third part app to clear credentials or anyone has any idea how can i fix this F#[email protected]# problem??
Plz, Help

When the clear credential is grayed out means there aren't any credentials to wipe. Basically, what is your problem?

In Security section some options are grayed out with this status "disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage"
The Encrypt device option have only Pin and fingerprint on, the rest is disabled... I saw that if i clear the credentials it would fix this problem...

So, try to explain better your issue via posting some screenshot or writing more clearly.
Do you mean the Screen Lock Type?
-from Lock screen and security > Screen Lock Type
I think you previously encrypted your device and now you are having issues, have you tried to get access to your old files?

I´m new here, can´t post any links to my photos. Sorry if i´m not been clear, my english is not that good. I´m from Brazil. But i will try to explain more clearly here:
1 - I go to the Settings > System > Security
2 - In Security tab i choose Encrypt device (codificar dispositivo)
3 - Then i click to choose the lock screen option
4 - The 3 options are grayed out, just the PIN (senha) and Fingerprint (Impressão Digital) are enabled
I just got the phone. Brand new. Then i tried to root but got stock in boot loop, so i installed the stock rom and then i saw this problem.
I have never encrypted the phone nor the SD. I can access everything in my phone but this options. Knox are diabled to, since i tried to root and got Knox status 1.
The only way to highlight the 5 screen lock options is if i go to samsung find my phone, click in unlock screen device. Then the phone gets unlocked and i got a pop up to choose a new screen lock. But if i choose, for an example, Pattern, i draw the pattern, choose a pin code, but as soon i finish it all options get grayed again.
And in the lock screen i can draw the wrong pattern as many times as i want but i don´t got the option to use de PIN to get into device.

Oka, now i've got your problem. Try to check if all the Android Certificates are enabled. Settings > Security > Other Security Settings > View security certificates

Ok, the path is a a little bit different for me. I´m in the Security -> Trusted Credentials... Here i can see 2 tabs: System and User
In system there ar a lot of credentials and they are all enabled, in user i have none.
Just a heads up: I already tried to disable all of them one by one before. Didn´t help
Did you ever get this figured out? I have tons of certificates installed and turned on. Some are from China, Turkey and in other languages. I want to remove them all but Clear Credentials is greyed out. I'm using a Samsung S5 on v6.0.1 (not rooted).

Go to Settings-->Advanced-->Security-->Device administrators and disable all of them
Sent from my Huawei P8 using XDA Labs
I try evrything I find on internet and is not working, there is anybody with the same problem with p8 lite?
Im also facing the same issue.. please post if you found some solution
Exact same issue here
I found a way to "cheat" it
Set code to pattern->get pattern wrong 5 times -> password now removed
Would like to see a permanent fix though
Or AOSP lockscreen lol
Thank you very much, is working for me, the option "none" is still grey, thank you again
I have android 6.0 and i face the same problem. Any fix yet?
huawei p8 lite, android 6, screen lock problem
I activated PIN screen lock for testing VPN, yesterday in the morning, and after that I was not able to remove it. The only thing that worked for me was setting pattern and backup PIN, and to make wrong pattern five times, as someone before suggested. Option none is still "grey" but at least I do not have any more screen lock of any kind. Thank you very much. :good:
your post saved me from going totally nuts!
Just to say thank you!

I've searched whole the net and found nothing. Your cheat worked, and I've just signed up in XDA to thank you. :victory::victory::victory:
After using a wrong pattern several times (it took well over 5), it says "Try again in 30 seconds". Grr…
It's a P8 Lite running Android 6.0 as the latest firmware (…B584).
1)opt for screenlock>back pin password
2)now try wrong pattern in screenlock till it comes for FORGET THE PASSWORD
3)now go for back up pin
4)now you will get an option to select screenlock.now also NONE optionwill be grey
5)don't opt anything that and press back
6)after this screen lock option becomes automatically NONE,even without any selection(go to settings and check it)

your the bast ....worked with me to huawei y6 ii :good:
just registered in dxa

Works for me too! (P8 Lite)
Hi,
As most devices running Android 5.0 and newer are encrypted by default, this might be the cause that you are unable to remove the lockscreen protection. It uses a locally stored and randomly generated key until a lockscreen protection method is enabled, then switches to this as the encryption key.
If disabling the device managers and erasing the Certificates do not allow you to remove the lockscreen protection, there is an option under Developer options> Screen lock. Disabling this will remove any lockscreen protection that is in place. If this is also grayed out the only option is to perform a full factory reset of the device (including internal storage wipe) in order to reset the encryption key.
Cheers
