Successfully installed TWRP Recovery on Tab Pro 12.2SM-T900 - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 General

All,
I wanted to share with everyone that the TWRP recovery that was made for the wifi note pro SM-P900 "Exynos only" works on the Tab Pro 12.2.
Original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706982
I downloaded the tar file and flashed with Odin 3.07
Here is a picture.

Very nice! So it works just fine? It makes sense just cause its the same everything inside. Did you use cf auto root to root? I'm going to be getting my 12.2 in about a week!

worked for me using cf auto root and twrp for note pro.
the problem is not much custom roms to pick from for the 12.2

True, I am pretty okay with the stock rom. I wish someone would just debloated stock.
Sent from my SM-T900 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

BTW I am on the pro plus rom and its stable, but I wasn't able to get the GigaWatts Pro to work.

This is my first go around with a Samsung tablet, does Odin take care of unlocking the bootloader as well? Or can I just use Towelroot to root and then run the unlock commands and flash this via adb?

No, that won't work for t321 (3g) version. Actually, it will erase your stock recovery and install an incompatible one so that if you factory reset you get stuck in "Cannot boot normally" mode.

It worked

My pro should arrive in the mail tomorrow. So forgive me if this has been asked, but I thought these tabs were locked down by knox? Can knox coexist with root and custom boot?

Knox and root can coexist but the super su will and you if you would like it disabled, click yes and your done.
Its just a locked down program/area within the software.

It may install but is it actually working correctly? In that original thread, they are having many issues with TWRP and cache mounting and partitions. I don't want to do this on my Tab Pro 12.2 and be stuck in boot loops and having to find and reflash this, that and the other.

Well? Anyone?

Mines working perfect.
The only issues I had was trying to flash the gigawatt rom that has since been removed. Worst case, just odin back to stock.

I had some Problems when attempting to wipe data within twrp. had a bunch of cache errors and couldn't get it to boot. Had to release p900 and wipe data in Stock recovery. Didn't go back for 2nds after that

Root and recovery working on lollipop

I don't take credit for this, i am just giving a guide on how i was able to gain root and recovery on the Sprint Note 4 with Lollipop.
Let me start by saying i was running the Hybrid-X series rom. Here were my steps to upgrade to Lollipop and keep all my data. If you are on stock, skip this step.
1. Flash the stock rom tar found here:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95853297432265112
2. Once you reboot, run system update and you will download and install Lollipop. When it installs and reboots, you should still have all your data and apps.
Once in lollipop, i followed our old root method which does work for lollipop found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/sm-n910-cf-auto-root-t2897428
Now, to get recovery, you can do it 2 different ways.
1.download an app called flashify from the play store. Download the following file in .img form:
http://www.techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/trltespr
2. download the .tar file from above and flash in oodin.
Once you have both on your phone, open flashify, select recovery image and hit Yup! and then reboot. Your phone should reboot into TWRP.
At this point you will have all your data, root, and recovery. Enjoy
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for damage to your phone or voiding your warranty.
As a note, i would backup your data though any apps that you can. I wiped the data since the system seemed sluggish. When i restored thought titanium, there were a lot of apps that were crashing. Wiping the data to each app didn't work. I had to uninstall and re-install the app, but then you loose the data.
On a second note, once i wiped data in recover, lollipop was very nice and smooth.
Awesome good find have to try it out

I'm guessing once you flash the stock rom tar you get the stock recovery, that's why in step 3 you have to use flashify to get twrp back.

The only issue I have found so far, es file Explorer can no longer write to system or change file permissions. Bummer, I'll have to find another way to copy over my custom boot animations and sounds.

[TWRP][SM-T807P/T807R4][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP 2.8.5.0 recovery snapdragon

This is my port of TWRP recovery for the Sprint and Cellular South snapdragon version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
I don't own this device nor does it have a device tree, so has took a fair bit of doing and many hours to get this working.
Didn't seem fair for the Sprint owners to be left out of the development scene, so made this for them and to give something back to the community.
Thanks to jono1767 for his fearless testing, pinky059 and DUHAsianSKILLZ for providing me with needed files and support. Oh and the missus for putting up with me spending hours on the PC.
Download link
Flash with latest version of Odin:
ODIN 3.10.6
Always wanted a snapdragon tab S! Glad you got a recovery going. Hopefully they can get some ROMs!
Be great to get some custom roms now and other tweaks and apps.now.will try to work on that next.

Can't thank you enough for all the hard work and effort you put in to a device you don't even own. I've had this tablet since September and have been waiting patiently for someone to put together a root and recovery for this awesome device. I know for a fact that 6 or 7 months ago a lot of people were *****ing about not having root for the tab s from Sprint. I'm glad I hung around XDA and kept following any progress whatsoever with the device.
many thanks to you and all the testers that made this all possible. I for one am very grateful

What do you mean twrp icon? Twrp isn't an app so it doesn't have an icon.
If you are referring to the app called twrp manager, that is a separate app, not officially related to twrp recovery.

Galaxy Note 3- Problems After Upgrading To 5.0

I am sure that XDA developers will not let me down
Dear guys,
I had updated my kitkat 4.4.2 to lollipop 5.0 but I faced to major problems which are:
1. My screen shoot (Screen write) function works for maybe 3 or 4 times only and then nothing happens when I get out my pen and press it, so I have to restart the device to make it work for more 3 or 4 times!!!
2. I cannot find a good way to root after upgard it to lollipop. :crying: :crying:

1) Hmm... haven't seen that problem before. Try installing some apps from the play store that allow you to screetshot.

thank your for your concern
well...
1. I will, even it makes me so sad because it was the major function of the pen.
2. previously I followed the instructions in this video youtube.com/watch?v=hUghV16l9d8
Make sure you have done a clean installation of the ROM. By clean installation I mean make a full wipe, from TWRP (a custom recovery), go to Advanced Wipe and select everything except your external SD, in case you have one installed. Then flash the latest Lollipop ROM via Odin. The latest stable LP ROM I found to be OF3, so get that from sammobile.com.
And root can't be more easy. When you are done flashing the stock ROM via Odin just place this zip on your phone, https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip, reboot to recovery, which will be TWRP (and after flashing the stock ROM you will have to reflash TWRP, cause flashing stock ROM always installs the stock recovery), and just install the zip from there, done.
