[Q] Bootloop on my sgh-i337m with rom stock (Telcel) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello to all the community ..
I'm desperate with my cell phone, I have a galaxy s4 (sgh-I337m) and stopped working today ..
I had the cell phone connected to the charger, when the battery finished charging disconnect the cable and cell phone was shut down automatically.
Try to turn on the phone again, but I get into a bootloop, samsuns logo appears and restarts again .. :crying:
I searched a lot about the problem, all posts recommend entering the recovery and make the respective wipes, but in my case I can not do that, the phone does not go into recovery mode.
The download mode works perfectly.
With odin flashie the last official firmware for my cell phone, the installation is correct and odin did not mark any error, but the phone still with the same problem again and can not enter the recovery mode, but can enter download mode .. .
Also try installing a custom recovery, but again can not go into recovery mode.
Any solution for this?
PD: Sorry for my English ..

Well I'm not sure if you've tried these yet but I'll give it a shot. If you're on 4.2 / 4.2.2 I would look at this thread. If you're on 4.3 I'd look at this thread. It should resolve your bootloop / brick issues from occuring in the future if it ever happens again. Hope this helped you out somewhat.

It does seem like you've tried everything. However, try this: unplug your phone and try to enter recovery mode by pressing the power button and volume up button simultaneously until you see "Booting recovery..." in blue at the top left when the screen turns on. Once you see that, release the buttons IMMEDIATELY. Sometimes the phone reboots in normal mode if you try to boot into recovery mode with the phone plugged in.

Thanks for responding.
My cell phone can not enter the recovery.
Booting recovery appears blue, but the phone rebooted again.
What else can I try to fix the error?

Please i need help..
I don't know what else can do

I also have gs4 I337m. important to note that flashing a custom recovery will trip knox, and void the warranty. when you bootbinto download mode, look for knox lines. good is 0x0, warranty void is 0x1.
download jellybean 4.3 from Samsung-updates.com. be sure to use the region code for your carrier.
perform a factory wipe before starting via stock recovery. use odin and make sure to copy any .ini files included in the stock firmware to your odin folder before flashing. this is important step, if.ini file exists. overwrite if you have another ini file from a previous package already in odin.
use pda button to browse to extracted package. img file and be sure to tick *only* auto reboot and f reset flags.
flash. once successful, boot back into stock recovery and perform another factory reset. this is important to clear any left over munged up sys and usr data.
if all of this still fails, use kies3 and the emergency recovery option. wizard based and will also flash back to factory if odin isnt writing. make sure you have the latest samsung drivers before starting, and make sure you use another usb cable other than the one you've been bad flashing with. use another computer if possible, or at least another usb port to rule out bad cable/usb port.
barring all of that, you can use an unbrick package. i have the files to load via adt if needed. i just ran the script to produce the unbrick files, script isnt mine, from another xda dev.
of you arent comfortable using adt, then find your local best buy, they will repair for free most cases, small nominal fee for tripped knox flags or other carriers.
message me for the unbrick files if you need them. via pm. i wont dump them here.

oh, and remove kies when flashing with odin. i would uninstall entirely, and also remove the usb drivers, and install latest from Samsung/attaching phone after uninstall from device manager. if u have questions, just ask. kies will interfere with odin, its happened to me.

Please search for similar threads. This same issue is being posted over and over and over again. When you were making this post, what "similar threads" or "similar topics" showed up? Did you check them for a solution?
yes sorry i looked at all of them and they all involved well just flashing the stock rom but i cant get my computer to see my gs4 on download mode...i got the drivers and odin installed.
Well, this thread has a couple of ideas...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405991
or maybe here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405127
You might also want to look at the TWRP thread in the development section.
Try again to get into recovery, the key sequence can be tricky, make sure you are doing it just right. "Doing it just right" has been discussed many times.
Also, look at this thread, maybe it will help...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398336
Yea, I realize that thread is about MF3, but it still has ideas that might help you.
There are also a ton of threads about how to get your PC to recognize ODIN.....search.......good luck.
yeah ive been at it for hours man those links can all access the recovery i cant... i tried everything got the drivers up tried all the odins and its just stuck on "downloading do not turn off target" and my pc doesnt see it...
Odin finally recognized it on the pc in download mode and i was able to flash the stock rom but it seems it wasnts successful...it still just vibrates and vibrates when i press the power...
Try flashing the open recovery.

Take battery out, back in, power+volumedown, download mode, Install Samsung Kies, do Kies update, connect to PC, Tools-> firmware initialization, take battery out and type model/serial Number, wait patiently until it finishes.
Try different USB port or different PC. Use stock USB cable comes with original box.
If Kies screen get stuck at model number section, you did flash MF3 triangle thingy -> unsolveable brick. Have to go thorugh warranty replacement.

Seems like the EFS partition is broken (IMEI Invalid)
If You don't have any backups done by custom recovery, well... You're probably done.
I am having a similar problem. After enabling KNOX, which I thought was just another antivirus, my phone rebooted, and just got stuck. It would go to the boot page, with the name, and then it would act like it was gonna go to my home screen, but the screen would go black and it would start over. I cleared the cache and factory wiped it, but still no luck. I didn't enable usb debugging, and from what I know there is no way to enable it. I need it to use odin to flash a rom and start over. any suggestions?

Hey, thank you for the help!
It starts and it doesn't! With the battery, after I try to turn on, it keeps blinking repeatedly and stops only if I remove the battery. And my issue with any fix that I try to flash is that the computer doesn't recognize, probably cuz the blinking blue light is just a random light and not the phone actually trying to turn on... so Odin, for example, doesn't catch any device!
Is there any way to make the computer recognize it? I already tried some usb drivers, but nothing so far... BTW, I have a windows 10.
Thanks!

Well Windows 10 64bit has been creating problems for many many people in the forum and I have seen people running vm and win 7 for the best results. And something very important I must say is that, most of the new computers do have USB 2.0 ports but they are limited in number, so you should find one on ur PC, to us it specifically for phone tweaking softwares. I would suggest you find another PC or laptop around,

Without recovery or Download mode, you'll need to take it to someone with a black box or jtag.
If you can access a working phone of your same model, you can boot download mode from sd

Stuck at bootscreen (no boot loop) and unable to do anything (Galaxy note 4 N910H)

Hi guys,
I own a Galaxy Note 4 (N910H) and have rooted it before without any problem.
Long story short I wanted to install a custom rom and on the instruction says I need to reset my device to factory before I actually install it (because mine is 4.4.4).
I successfully reset it back to factory settings, however when I tried to install the rom an error occured.
When my device restarted it goes into a boot loop.
So I go into the recovery mode and delete the caches and what not (even selecting the reset to factory setting again).
When my device restart it is stuck at the boot sreen (samsung galaxy blablabla) and it DOESNT LOOP, it just stuck there and I am unable to go into recovery mode.
I tried to reflash it using odin (i can access the downloading mode) up to no avail.
My device is detected by odin (com:x) but when I pressed start it stuck at setup connection and after a while I got the Fail message.
Now I am at a loss and have no idea what else to do. Tried kies, doesnt work either.
Kies doesnt even recognize the connection to my phone.
Any help would be appreciated.
NB: I'm a newb at this so please bear with me (and yes I kind of ****ed up)
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken you have Kies installed? If that is the case I would recommend you uninstall it. Then manually download the Samsung USB drivers
http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000117
Reboot your PC just to be sure.
Then make sure your device isn't connected to the charger or computer and remove the battery and after 10 seconds reinsert the battery and manually boot into Download Mode (Home + Volume Down while holding the power button.)
Then connect your phone to the your PC and run Odin as Admin and try to flash the firmware.
I would also recommend that the firmware you are flashing is the correct one and is not corrupted.
You can check the firmware from Sammobile and after the download check the MD5Sum and then extract the zip file to get the firmware file.
Good luck and report back.

If you want to root your current rom then install a custom recovery (TWRP) recommended then flash SuperSU Current release: https://download.chainfire.eu/740/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
You can always hit the 'Thanks Button' to show your appreciation. It's nice to see you fixed your issue.

Just flash your firmware from Odin using a PC, I had a similar problem in my tablet, it didn't had download mode either and that worked, try it.
When I connect it to Pc it keeps bootlooping and pc gives sound of connecting then disconnecting of hardware.

Turn off your device, keep your finger in the button until the device is off or pull off the battery, connect it to the PC and flash your firmware through Odin, at that moment I used the 3.70 i think but you can use the latest version it's fine, that should install download mode and the whole firmware if that doesn't work I'm afraid I don't know how else I can help, that's what I did and it worked

You are right I did it the same way and it worked for me too. I actually was thinking the phone was quite dead bur or wasn't, I just flashed the recovery firmware 4.4.4 Russian and if you ask me food the step by step procedure it was just like this:
1. I started the Odin 3.07 and connected my device to see is it was detected or not, my surprise the Odin catch it, and shown added and the port number was 18.
2. I just pulled out the USB cable from my laptop and loaded the BL file only to just flash the bootloader file and see what would happen, I was trying it bcz I was totally disappointed with the device i.e. Grand Prime 530H Duos. I also noticed that my device was not stable even with that black screen it used to restart after almost five minutes in that case. And I knew that in 5 minute I will just be able to flash BL file. The BL file was loaded on the Odin now and I inserted the USB cable again while keeping the vol down button pressed to my laptop when the Odin again found and connected with my device, I didnot take any more time to flash BL file.
3. As soon as i had not flashed all the SW therefore, my device didn't boot properly, and I thought it didn't work but when my device was connected to the computer I just listened the startup tone of the Android 4.4.4. From that moment I knew my device was not dead now so i had to select all four files from the recovery firmware of 4.4.4 and connect the device to odin even there was no sign of download mode, as soon i clicked the Start button i saw many things in the Odin which were good enough to see. after the firmware flashed the device got started.

Hello guys! Could you please help me with the same issue? The difference is that Odin doesn't recognize when I plug in my phone! I don't know what else to do. It's a G530H.
Thank you very much!

You are right I did it the same way and it worked for me too. I actually was thinking the phone was quite dead but it wasn't, I just flashed the recovery firmware 4.4.4 Russian and if you ask me for the step by step procedure it was someting like this:
1. I started the Odin 3.07 and connected my device to see if it was detected or not, to my surprise, Odin catch it, and shown added and the port number was 18.
2. I just pulled out the USB cable from my laptop and loaded the BL file only to just flash the bootloader file and see what would happen, I was trying it bcz I was totally disappointed with the device i.e. Grand Prime 530H Duos. From that moment I knew my device was not dead now so i pullup the battery, put it again inside to check its status, did this almost thrice, but still the same black screen, yet i heard the startup sound everytime. Now as far as knew the phone is on but showing nothing, I had to select all four files from the recovery firmware of 4.4.4 and connect the device to odin even there was no sign of download mode, as soon i clicked the Start button i saw many things in the Odin bar which were good enough to see. after the firmware flashed the device got started.

Is your USB cable original is it working on other devices? And are you using a USB 2.0 port, that is very much necessary, for Odin and some other hardware/software environment applications. And you also must have Samsung USB drivers installed in your PC, you can also try all this process on some other PCs

Hello!
Yes, that USB works with other phones. And even not being the original one, it was working to transfer files before this issue...
It is a USB 2.0 port, and even when I go to "Device Manage" on Windows, it doesn't show any port with an unknown device or something like that...
Thanks!

You will need to download the original firmware and reflash with Odin, that will fix this error.
Edit: You can get it into download mode, just keep trying...

To enter 'Download Mode' and recover from the error:
Connect a USB cable to your Laptop/PC.
With power-off on the device, hold down BOTH 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down'.
Connect the USB cable to the device, while holding down both volume keys, and press 'Power'.
If done correctly, the device will boot to 'Download Mode'.
Hi. Thank you for replying but it doesn't help. Every time i get same screen.

Bro its literally easy
I have flashed tweaked rom on my SM-T820. It worked for a good 6 months and then this error has started to happen. Can reboot once or twice then the security error happens. I then need to reflash original firmware and then twrp, tweaked and repeat. Is there a way to stop this happening?

And if this is done, the cell phone data, photos, etc. are not deleted?
Spoiler: Spanish
Y si se hace esto no se borran los datos del celular, fotos, etc.??

Please use English on XDA, per Article 4 of the Forum Rules.
Booting into download mode will not wipe data.
thanks
I have the same problem after trying to flash TWRP on a sm-t295 - tab A.
It seems I need to flash the original firmware - T295XXU4CUF7.
Do you know where can I get it? UK variant.
Thanks
