[Q] G2 won't turn on(not bricked, I think) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an LG G2 ls980, cm-12-20150501-NIGHTLY-ls980, render kernel
I installed cm12 a long time ago and I realized that the battery was being drained really fast with cm's kernel. Then I installed render kernel. Everything was handy dandy. Less battery drain, all was good in the world. I put my phone down for a few seconds, look back, and see that my phone is completely off. I try powering it on, and nothing happens. It isn't bricked though, there isn't a dark(bull still powered) screen, there isn't an LED, there isn't a vibration when I plug in the charger for my phone.
I tried:
Waiting a while and then charging my phone for an hour(my phone got really hot after this)
Using multiple cables(none of them were data-enabled cables if that is important)
Attempted to put it into download mode(it won't even turn on, but I saw this suggestion everywhere)
Is my battery done for? Will it begin to expand if I charge it? Will this suggestion work(I'm holding off from this since the G2 battery is very tedious to put back in):
"Ok after hours of figuring out what to do I did this as a last resort and it worked. I removed the screws from the phone and pulled the battery clip from the board ; then I pressed the power button , held it down and with the other hand clipped the battery back in, once the battery vibrated I put the phone on the charger and it turned on showed the lg logo and then showed that the battery was at 0% but was charging. My phone was not rooted it was just sitting on my desk for a week till I got back from vacation. I hope this Helps"

[Q] Mytouch 4g died in sleep?

So, this phone was working without any problems but then my wife turned it off and left it in the drawer for about 3 weeks when she went overseas. When she got back and tried to turn it on it wont turn on. We figured it might have drained the battery so we plugged it in but now its not charging either! When I unplugged and plugged in, the LED blinked orange once but now it wont even do that either, no power, no LED, not charging either. I have tired everything, left it disconnected, battery out for an hour, then put it together and tried to charge, still nothing.
Any ideas? It is already out of warranty so talking to T-Mobile is out of question.
Nothing has been done to it, it is physically fine, it was just off for a long period and not it just wont respond.
Edit: Fixed it! I don't know what, I was almost giving up, but I took the battery out and blew hard on the battery contacts in the phone and in the charging port then plugged everything in and put it back on charger, orange light started to blink and then went solid and now its charging. I just turned it on. This phone is dodgy, no other phone hard bricks like this if you leave it off.
Some phones don't function with completely discharged battery. Actually, most of newer phones. You need to leave the battery inside and the phone connected to charger for some time, till the charging light shows up. MT4G is very far from being "dodgy", doesn't differ from many other phones that behave the same, and you were nowhere near "hard brick".
Good luck in powering up Motorola Defy with completely discharged battery.
Recoverable problem

Had a similar problem. Phone died while using it then wouldn't light up when plugged in. Left it plugged in for half an hour wouldn't seem to charge via wall or car charger. Tried doing a hard reset with/without the battery & plugged in/not plugged in in various combinations. Got nuthin. Drove around for hours looking for a replacement or open T-Mobile place, until it got too late and I went home. Live chat with T-mobile rep was a waste of time. Plugged it in the wall and left it, as this once brought back a G2 battery that I thought was cold dead. Five hours later it was lit up and charging, showing 40% charge on the battery indicator app once I turned it back on. "HTC Sense" crashed immediately on boot then recovered. Seems to be fine so far.
- Suggestion; plug it in and leave it overnight if it seems cold dead and doesn't appear to be charging. It seems to need to hit some critical threshold before it will work again (as indicated by previous poster). Also pick up a couple spares off amazon or newegg if you don't have a second phone available.

[Solved; Ignore] Phone on "charge" at 0% Instantly turns off when charger is removed.

[Solved; Ignore] Phone on "charge" at 0% Instantly turns off when charger is removed.
As the title suggests, my phone will only turn on when the charger is plugged in and the battery stats say "0% Charging (AC) - 0s on battery".
Little background. I just flashed stock and AK 301 kernel as well as the latest libs. Phone turned on just fine, battery was at 50%.
I then decided to run Antutu for the hell of it to see if there were any performance changes etc.
Whilst Antutu was running the phone just powered off and wouldn't power back on. I had a red blinking light and that was it.
Eventually I managed to boot in to recovery after following advice to hold power + vol down for 15 seconds then plug the charger in.
The phone was on charge for about 3 hours with the LED still blinking at me.
When I managed to get in to recovery I flashed the only ROM I had on there after wiping all data etc. Which was Mahdi ROM.
Now when I turned the phone on, after many failed attempts, the battery icon is completely depleted with the charging icon inside the battery and as said in my first sentence it says 0% Charging and as soon as I take the charger out, the phone turns off instantly and won't turn back on nor will it blink until I put the charger back in.
Does anyone know whats going on? Could the battery have come loose somehow? I'd like to open it up but I don't have the required screwdriver to do so, anyone know any other way I can crack the case open without damage?
Any help or suggestions are most welcome. I can't return it on warranty as I bought this phone 1 year ago on the 4th June... Of course this had to happen 6 days after warranty expired!
I think I spoke too soon.
I just decided to hold the power button and vol down until the phone completely switched off. Turned it back on and now my battery says 32%.And as of writing this it's now up to 34%. So it's actually showing that it's charging now, whereas earlier the phone was on for about 20 minutes and said 0% the whole time.
Odd. That's all I have to say.
I can't delete my post for some reason. So I'll just flag it as answered. Sorry about that.

Battery or Mobo, opinion please!!

Replaced the LCD full screen assembly on my LG G2, all went smooth following a YT video couldn't really have gone wrong,
Switched phone on and battery displayed 0% for several minutes, eventually getting to 2% when I turned it on, all was still OK, however it dropped to 0% within a few minutes even while still plugged in,
Then it was completely dead, no charge light and couldn't turn on,
Removed all of the components again from inside of phone and rechecked all of the connections, again all OK, this time it cam on again!! 0% charging, so I left it charging waiting as long as poss, 45% it was at when I checked but left it while I was sleeping,
Woke up this morning to phone completely dead, cant power on and no charge light showing
Am I wasting my time buying a new battery? could this be another component? LCD?
Appreciate any help,
Thanks
Lee
have now disassembled and re-assembled a further twice and now it does not power on at all
no red flashing light and nothing on display
I've got a similar problem. Did you find out anything? Bought a replacement screen from ebay, and was really confident I could do this, since I earlier replaced the usb charging port with no issues. Of course the battery was discharged completely before this, but I charged the phone and it worked a week ago (which resulted in an annoying alarm that I was unable to shut off because of the broken screen). So after replacing the screen, I plugged it in and turned it on before putting on the back cover. At first it vibrated and I could see the backlight turning on. Then I could see the red led, and thought it was charging, but then the led started to cycle between different colors. I was not able to get a picture on the screen. I then plugged it out and put on the back cover, in case that was needed (didn't seem so from the yt video I used). After that, nothing. Not even a LED. And the phone didn't get any hot like it does when charging/working. It did somewhat get a bit hot the first time.
My first suspect was the battery. It did take some wiggling and force/heat to remove it‚ and it did kind of bend at the edges, but not very much. Any ideas?

BATTERY (?) Help

Hi Guys, so I flashed Resurrection Remix and it was working fine. Few days later, I woke up to my phone continuously vibrating. Upon checking I saw that it was vibrating because it was doing a boot loop. Unfortunately my PC was broken at the time too, tough week.
Anyway, I let it do it's thing until it runs out of power. It never did. Seriously I waited for a day. When I slept, it had 20% battery (not charging). So I thought maybe, the power button is acting up again which has happened many many times before.
So I opened up my phone and adjusted the power button. Even, holding the volume up while plugging in didnt work anymore.
While I was there I saw the battery connector thingy, I unplugged it and re plugged it real quick without breaking anything. And It restarted and the device worked fine.
But.... The battery icon is steadily at 50% for a min then drops to 0% even while connected to charger. So, I charged it for a few minutes but it doesn't move.
I was about to do a factory reset but it shut down. The battery icon doesn't appear, only the red blinking led light. I tried charging it like that overnight to no avail.
I then tried to remove the battery connector again and as soon as I plug it, the screen turns on then off again. Sometimes it gets to the battery charging icon before it shuts down. If I bend the connector downwards it sometimes turns the screen on and sometimes doesnt.
I took it to repair shops and they said that the problem is the battery and ofc to no suprise, they dont have a replacement.
Do you guys have any idea what happened? Was it a button issue, software issue or indeed battery issue. Before all this happened, the device was working perfectly.
Please help. I miss my phone already.
I think it due socket of battery, can you open the back cover and plugout and plugin this socket, will be OK

Note 4 SM-N910F suddenly won't charge nor boot? What to try next?

Hi!
The phone was working fine up till yesterday.
I left it charging, only to find it stuck with the red LED on. It would not respond to button presses, and the LED stayed on even after being unplugged.
I took the battery out, put it back in, didn't want to boot. I took the battery out again, left it out for a few minutes, it booted with an unfamiliar message "Could not do normal boot" or something along those lines. After a restart it booted normally.
I used the phone normally the whole day, but after leaving it charging, same thing happened, but resolved it with leaving the battery out for a few minutes.
Phone worked fine from there on.
Left it charging before bedtime, found it stuck again in the morning, but this time, no way to boot.
I changed batteries, left it without battery for quite some time, nothing.
The phone is rooted, running a custom ROM, flashed sometime last year. Had no problems until now.
What do you recommend?
Seems like it could be the eMMC error.
I was extremely unlucky and it died completely in just one day since the error manifested
If you have any suggestions on how to revive it, please share!
I tried cool it in the freezer, didn't help
Note 4 won't charge or boot - Fixed
Hello,
My note four recently started running sluggishly and the battery would only charge to 77%. I rebooted it and it was now stone dead, would not charge, boot , nada. This is the fix I found that worked for me:
Take out battery, sim card, and mem card. Install back cover. Place phone in ziplock sandwich bag and seal. Place bag into freezer for 20 minutes. Remove bag/phone from freezer, reassemble battery, sim and mem cards. Press the start key and phone should boot(mine did). If not, plug into Samsung fast charger and try booting again.
Regards
