How do you get AT&T 4G LTE on T-Mobile Note 3?
Is there a step-by-step process on how to do it?

Hmmm... unlock phone with code... insert AT&T's sim... done... (you may also want to add AT&T's APN, but it works automatically anyway)
T-Mobile's Note 3 has the same bands as the AT&T plus an extra band (1700) so... you get more with TMO variant...

I read that it does not work automatically. You have to change the apn settings and set it to LTE. I don't think it will work automatically
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2464498
As you can see, you need specific settings to get LTE. I'm just not sure how to do it.

I got LTE perfectly without doing anything... but if you need to add an APN... Just go to Settings ->Connections -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names -> ADD -> (and add AT&Ts APN...) Done

Because I'm not paying $700+ for the phone in the first place. Plus I don't have time to deal with staying and stopping a contract to pay so much money for it.
On another note, they all have Knox anyways so good luck warranting it.

Yeap... on AT&T right now with N-900T.

I believe you're on hspa+. My AT&T note 3 says lte when I'm connected. It says 4G when I'm in hspa areas. Might be different for the t-mobile version though.

I am on XDA and I do care about warranty. I have rooted all phones I've owned by I still like the comfort of knowing I can warranty if I need to.
Luckily for me this phone is for work only so I won't have to worry about root. My GPro shall keep me happy with roms until nexus 5!!!
By the way, any lag at all on your device? And how is the coverage seeing that is running on tmobile ril files?

ok then that's different right?
because on at&t phone it says 4g lte all the time
if switching to 4g or hspa on t-mobile phone, then that means it losing lte signal?

Exactly

I don't know what Tmobile's Note 3 LTE bands are AT&T's has LTE bands 2, 4, 5 and 17. Not to mention 700mhz. 700mhz is still up in the air, don't really know anything about it but it's been in the news lately. Rather have the option than not. For me, speed is more important than roms. And like many other devices, I'm hoping with a lot of outcry, AT&T's Note 3's bootloader will eventually be opened... Sooner or later.

Would this phone work on T-Mobile if sprint gave me an unlock code?

Would i be able to use this phone on T-Mobile here in the U.S? I've serached and haven't seen an answer to this question for u.s. networks. All I see is people asking if it'd work internationally.
I ask because this phone does have a sim card slot and in network settings there is an option for gsm/umts networks?
If so I would assume I'd need to flash tmobiles gs4 modem in order to use their service?

Well, it is that simple, it wont work on T-Mobile or ATT. There is no way to have it unlocked for US domestic GSM carriers (other than some risky propositions of flashing it with TMO ROM which I would not recommend) .
No offense intended towards the op but I've seen so many posts of people thinking that just because it has a sim slot it can work on us gsm. The sim card is unique in that it is meant for information needed to run on sprint CDMA/LTE networks. The sim slot doesn't function like a gsm sim socket. If you want to use a phone on a gsm us network, then buy a bloody gsm phone!

No, it will not work on "domestic" GSM networks (T-Mobile/AT&T etc), Sprint has that disabled/locked out by default. They will unlock it for you (if you meet the necessary requirements) for use on overseas GSM networks or you can by default, roam on overseas networks and pay expensive international roaming rates.
Yes, the Sprint S4 is a dual mode CDMA/GSM handset and as such has a SIM slot. Just because it has a SIM slot doesn't mean it'll just accept any GSM SIM and voila it works. First, the SIM slot is there because it's an LTE device and they all require SIM cards for LTE authentication on the Sprint network.
It would have been easy (and more consumer friendly) for Sprint to have their S4 have a completely unlocked SIM slot but their incentive is to have you pay expensive international roaming rates when using it on GSM networks, hence they lock out domestic GSM networks.
What's the point of assuming you'd need to flash a T-Mobile modem (and potentially brick your phone)? If your intent is to be on T-Mobile, why not sell the Sprint S4 and get a T-Mobile S4? Why do people suffer themselves through all these palaver?

It's a question because I obviously don't know so I ask for others input. I'm simply saying because the phone has a sim card slot AND it appears to be compatible with gsm networks so I ask if it would work in the US not internationally.
It's not always as simple as sell this phone and get myself a tmobile s4 because there is probability I won't be able to sell it.
I don't understand the people on this forum. Either answer the question or leave it alone and let the thread go down into the next page. Simple as that.
Thank you LordLugard for explaining despite that last part of your post. Otherwise I would've "thanked" you.

Sprint is cdma and is the only one that uses it....answer is NO.
According to the specs on the phone, the hardware is capable of running on Att or T-mobile network without 4g. It will just take time for someone to figure out how to unlock the phone's radio. It will be similar to rooting or unlocking the phone, pure software limitation, but it will take longer since there aren't that many developers looking in to it vs say rooting.
what makes it annoying right now is the inability to flash the modem partition through dd commands. doesn't stick after a reboot.
but yes.. this phone supports more GSM bands than the HTC One. ATT/TMO AWS bands and obviously LTE bands are not available. Might be able to hack in AWS support.. but no way on LTE.
LTE: Band 25;
CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev.A: 800/850/1900MHz;
HSPA+/UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100MHz;
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz

Note that even if you were able to get the device to work on T-Mobile, while you would get 2G just about everywhere, you will only get 3G in areas that have been "re-farmed" and you will not get get LTE at all since the device densest support the AWS band.

[Q] Note 3 N9005 no LTE

HI
I was hoping someone could shed some light on this , i received my Galaxy Note 3 yesterday the n9005 model i moved from a HTC one the LTE 4G worked perfect on that phone no issues since getting the Note 3 the phone has only picked up 3G signal and when you go into network mode its only displaying GSM/WCDMA and no LTE there are no software upgrades available for it ? anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Not trying to be Cpt Obvious here but have you called your mobile company to give you some feedback? Note III is a new device maybe it needs an update from the provider?
Or did you try a hard reset just in case? I'd try to eliminate the software part so you can be sure it is a h/w issue..

Just to add to this, my N3 won't give LTE options at all when I use my 3 SIM, but does when I sap over to my Vodafone SIM which is on a 4G plan.
I'm pretty certain that it is just a setting on the SIM that toggles the LTE options.

Hey Everyone found a solution for this in another thread. I also was facing this issue no LTE Enabled as the option doesnt exist. I updated to latest firmware XXUBMJ1. Then used CFautoroot to root it coz it is possible only on rooted phones, if not you have to wait until Samsung pushes an OTA update to fix it. Here goes try and see if it works.
Use ES File explorer or your favorite root explorer and go to data/property and find the persist.radio.lteon.xml file. Open it in Text Editor and if the value that is written is false, change it to true. Save and exit and reboot. Got the options back. Done.
LTE needs to be enabled in an update.
On Unbranded, Samsung does this after signing the agreement with the local providers for the frequencies. If you have a branded version, incorporating the LTE setting lies with the provider. If you're unlucky, as most people with branded versions are, this could take quite a while. Some providers have been known to skip dozens of firmware versions as it is 'too much work to change a 200kb update'. Oh the woes of slapping your company sticker on everything...
My Unbranded German one has an LTE option, as Germany has had LTE since 2011. I'm using T-Mobile NL in the Netherlands, which does not have LTE yet.

US T-Mobile to possibly get LTE 8.4 Tab Pro with Voice

Hope this is true! :good:
Yeah, you read it right. “Gigantaphablet” is for the phablets that are – quite simply – gigantic. At least that’s what they should be called. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4 is one such device. And if leaks are to be believed, it could be making its way to T-Mobile. Or at the very least, released in a T-Mo friendly LTE model.
Leaked by TK Tech News, the device is shown picking up T-Mobile’s signal, and has “Voicemail”. So, it’s a phone. Remarkable.

Not really. Everywhere else in the world 3/4G Samsung tablets have always been voice enabled. The U.S. carriers have always stripped out the functionality on the tablets they sell. It's never really made a lot of sense actually because they'd make more money by a tablet being added to a plan as a "smartphone" to gain access to voice/MMS features. My SM-P601 on AT&T.

So I called T-Mobile tech support and they claim that the frequencies listed in the specs for the "phone" would work on LTE here in the US. Sure hope they are right.

From what I can tell, the device does not support AWS band 4 (1700/2100) on LTE so I don't think it will work on their refarmed network.
I do see that it supports 1900 MHz PCS so you should be able to get H+ (non LTE "4G") in an area that's refarmed.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. This is the only thing holding me back from buying it right now...

Guess we will have to wait until if "officially" gets released by T-Mobile here in the states. I thought I read an article somewhere saying that when they did release it, it would be re-worked for 4G LTE. I just hope they truly include the voice capability or else I have no interest.
I was noticing 2100 MHz but not 1700/2100 is listed as supported. I'm probably going to wait for a Nexus 8 device at this point to get LTE (have a Nexus 7 and a Note 10.1(2014) in the household at the moment) but still holding onto this (or the Note S 8.4 that appears to have the same bands) as an option if we don't get a Nexus 8 LTE by the end of 2014.
Yes, what has been posted is CORRECT.
i am also running my T325 on T-Mobile, and I have a Unlimited LTE Plan with the carrier, However the Highest i have gotten on my PHABLET is H+, and on my Note 3 i get FULL LTE, so with that said these PHABLETS DO NOT have ACSESS to the LTE Band. Futher more, when i purchased the device in the US the Company that sold it to me was Honest enough to tell me that I WILL NOT be getting LTE in the US, that only over Seas receive LTE. I was upset but bought it anyway for the simple fact that I have the Note 3 and was Buying it to use it through Wifi cause i have my Note 3 set up with Unlimited Tethering without my carrier knowing a thing ( ), I also figured why Buy the Tab Wifi only when i have the option to get Voice + Wifi for a few more Bucks, Makes CENTS to me, just in case i loose or Brake my Note 3 I have a Backup with My Lovely Galaxy Tab Pro T325. Its a Win Win if you ask me, and when I do use it as a phone (With OUT a Bluetooth, or Headset) PPL be like WTF, is it really a Phone, and start asking mr 50,000 questions, so you will be surprised how many ppl would be willing to use this device as a phone, i know i can care less what ppl say, I CANTTT use them small A$$ Apple devices, just CANTTT do. Sorry for the late zombie reply but -
Even as far back as 2 years ago, one could port international devices' radios onto U.S. devices. With that in mind, I'm kind of surprised someone hasn't been able to d o that for the international (8") Tab S & Pro models ... especially this far out into these models life spans. We've had the SM-T325 on T-Mo for over a half year, & so we're no longer hopefull LTE radios will ever find their way onto the international versions. This far out into Tab S & Pro - ATT/T-Mo have STILL shown no interest to release a true phone enabled/LTE model. Samsung really seems to be stepping on their own crank. Between KNOX - no micro SD card slots ... non-removable batteries on their newest products ... who wants these new devices? It's really lame marketing . But I do like their teeny bezel ... so hspa+ Tab pro it is

Huawei P8Max T-Mobile Frequencies?

Huawei P8Max supports these frequencies:
mobile network 2G: GSM 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz 3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900 / 2100MHz 4G: FDD LTE1800 / 2100 / 2600MHz (band: B3 / B1 / B7)
I live in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Will I get LTE? I read that T-Mobile LTE frequency is 1700/2100. According to the stats above, 2100 is listed.
Thank you!
That phone will not work well with T-mobile USA LTE. For best performance you want (bands) B2/B4/B12. From what you posted, it doesn't look like that would even work with some of T-mobile USA's HSPA which is also 1700/2100. It would only work with the 1900Mhz HSPA, which is quite a limitation in my opinion. Sorry!
If anyone has imported this phone and tried it with T-Mobile service - please post feedback here. Like the OP, very interested to know if the phone will get 4G service, or if there is anything that can be done to unlock T-Mo LTE bands in the firmware
If anyone has imported this phone can you please tell me what USA providers support this phone. Would one have better performance than another? I don't know much about the technical aspects of cell phones and am getting so frustrated trying to find a provider! Thanks for your time!

Hhhhmmmmm. I have been researching both the P8MAX and the MEDIAPAD X2 for a long time now. (Because I am not a good technical person). I am going to try to check the 701L, 702L and 703L on the website willmyphonework.NET to see if that website (highly recommended to me) agrees. I checked GSM carriers and there was no LTE support... I will try Sprint! Thanks!

WOW! Willmyphonework.NET DOES say that the 703L (they don't have the 701L or the 702L listed) is LTE supported by Sprint USA. I just can't believe it! I have been researching both the P8MAX and the MEDIAPAD X2 for HOURS (on a daily basis) because I am not a phone expert. I cannot believe that not even ONE person piped up to say that their P8MAX was LTE supported on Sprint! You have now given me something else to obsessively research! Lol!

Hi xxfirerican,
I'm not sure you're right on that one.
There has already been quite some info (even apps) on how to unlock additional LTE bands on Qualcomm powered devices. Look here on XDA
Now even reports come in on Exynos devices (SGS6) being put into Diag Mode and adding LTE bands. Link to be found here on XDA. This being possible because lot of other chipmakers do use the Qualcomm modem patent and/or chip.
Now the question is, does this work for Kirin setup too...
I've been looking all around, but still haven't found any reference on the modem being used on the Kirin 935 chipset / P8 Max.
Could someone shed some light on this?
***EDIT***
I tried the ##366633# / ##DMMODE# code on my daughters unrooted P8 (she won't let me root it...) and got some reaction indeed, which might suggest that this code could work on rooted phone with Kirin chipset.
Could someone with a rooted phone confirm this?
Kind regards,
Got my p8 max cannot get it to get internet on T-Mobile. Texting works, contact sync works but no internet so many apn settings out there not sure what is correct

I've been using my P8max since the end of July on Lycamoblie, a T-Mobile MVNO, and I have internet access, albeit, extremely slow 3g/2g access. I'm on WiFI 90% of the time so I'm ok with this. I knew this when I bought the phone so no surprises for me but I wonder why you're not able to get any internet on your phone. That worries me a little if I ever decide to switch from Lycamobile, will I have issues too...
Hi there,
Given the recently announced Mate S' chipset specifications which are almost identitcal to P8 Max, it would be exciting to see if we could port the modem files to the P8 Max and obtaining a far wider LTE compatibility.
Should be possible, wouldn't it?
Regards,
Has anyone tried buying sprint data or boost data only?

QUESTION,THESE PHONES HAVE DUAL SIM....if one goes to willmyphonework.net it tells u that the p8max and honor x2 will only receive 4g LTE signal via sprint and boost mobile, but the 2g and 3g wont work. So, can I buy a ten dollar data plan and use it with my ATT in my dual sim tray?
I've got the P8 Max 701L and I'm not getting LTE in the status bar but check out my speeds. The first pic is with Cricket Wireless service, the second is with MetroPCS, both GSM carriers.

I am looking into getting the device but am apprehensive because of the LTE connectivity issue that several people have mentioned, but others have denied. Locally, tmobile towers only provide LTE, edge does not connect to the internet at all.

Not getting LTE on T-Mobile

I purchased an unlocked S10+ from eBay (SM-G9750) that had an origin from Asia. It had the Snapdragon chipset so I thought it would be the same model, but I'm not getting 4G LTE on my phone. My carrier is T-Mobile.
After doing some research, I believe I don't have access to 2 networks bands (71 and another 16(?)). Is there anything I can do to, "fix" the phone so I can have LTE?

I have the same phone and I'm getting 4G connectivity on T mobile. I'm in NYC and I'm connecting to bands 4, 5 and 12 typically. My speeds are significantly lower than my S7 because carrier aggregation is not enabled.
Are you in a rural area? I've heard that T mobile uses the 600mhz band 71 (which this phone is missing) for rural LTE coverage.
Type *#2263# in your dialer to see was which.bands your phone supports, I think it support T-Mobile. Also try *#77467# to pull up IMS settings and enable what you can under IMS Service Switch.

Unfortunately not.. The T-Mobile CSC firmware is only available for the US models (G975U and G975U1).
G9750 is intended for South America, China and Hong Kong.
Although you only miss support for B71, so in theory LTE should work just fine since the G9750 supports other T-Mobile bands like Bands 2, 4 and 12.

A new feature with the S10+ is that all the US carriers' firmware is embedded and automatically loaded up depending on the carrier SIM card inserted. What's the story on the SIM card you are using? I just swapped in the one from my Galaxy S7 and everything but carrier aggregation worked right out of the box (including WIFI calling, VoLTE and Samsung Pay). I suspect you may be able to fix this if you get a properly provisioned SIM.

I don't know, these codes were working fine for me. Try this, download the Google dialer apk (Google the Google dialer port) and then use the code *#*#4636*#*#. You'll have to set it up as your main dialer app and enable permissions. Then try to see if you can configure it like my phone.

I've actually been with T-Mobile for a very long time and this sim is the same one I used in my HTC-M8, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8 all of which had LTE, no problem.
I ran the Google speed test, and I'm consistently getting 10 - 15 MBPS. I'm not sure what it was before, but it's noticeably slower than my S8.
I will try getting the Google dialer and try a couple of the other codes mentioned. Thanks for all the suggestions thus far, everyone!
UPDATE:
Google Dialer didn't work either
Any update on this? I just bought a G975U1 unlocked, and my data seems to be very slow with exceptionally high latency. I was wondering if the problem was the lack of carrier aggregation, but that shouldn't cause high latency, should it? Any reason not to flash the carrier firmware? I'm a little confused on that, actually -- if the S10+ pre-loads the carrier firmware based on the sim, why wouldn't carrier aggregation be part of that?

I was unable to get my phone to work on bands 2 and 4. Anytime I connected to those two bands it never would work. Finally I had to send it in. It's a hardware problem (in my case)

I have the u1 and it has been working great on tmo, mostly bands 2, 4, and 12... With very acceptable speeds...
