[Q] Inverted / Negative screen - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if there is a way to invert all the colors on the screen. This is a feature on iOS (triple-button press with accessibility), and also its a stock widget on the Samsung Galaxy S3.
I searched for an app that would do this but to no luck. Is this possible on stock Nexus 4?
Example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Thank you

I don't think there is anything that can do this on stock Android unfortunately. The only type of apps with similar function is the ones that overlay the screen with a translucent black or coloured overlay so that you can read at night without straining your eyes.

I have one other question : WHY ?
If you want to use phone at night, simply install a dark theme

Thanks Chrono_Tata, yeah thats all I could find as well, might resort to the screen overlays for now.
I guess I'm just used to the iPod Touch, where I could on-demand triple-press the home button and it would invert the screen. This was convenient when viewing white-background webpages, PDFs, etc.
I know that some apps support themes however not everything does. Having a system-level on-demand toggle would be in my case more convenient than ensuring the apps I use support themes and managing each apps themes individually.

White notification bar and camera app question

Is it possible to get the white "droid like" taskbar on a desire? Also, the camera app in my opinion is not as nice as this one

Can you change this with a simple apk?
Thanks in advance, i looked trough the threads but couldnt find anything..
More than a 100 views and nothing?
i'd also really like to know if possible to switch between the stock android and the black sense notification bar
i know theyre different software but perhaps this can be achieved through a theme or something?
The white topbar is doable, it's done in many roms, and there are plenty of people doing this.
Camera app may be as simple as having Root and finding an APK of the stock 2.1 camera app, and installing over HTC's, or it may just not work altogether.
Wow. Didn't think many people would want the white bar. It's been the standard for a while, and it's one of the things I, and I think many others, like about Sense. Would be kind of neat if they made it where you could adjust the color of it to anything you wanted or could adjust the opacity of it.
Amoled wants black user interface for battery-saving.

Recent apps on notification pulldown.

I thought this was kinda cool on the new myTouch.

Think outside the box....
Also, our Nexus one has the Desire 720HD video, camera, music, albums, Samsung launcher and icons, Acer launcher, MIUI power widgets, Droid animation start up, and many many more things... implementing a little of this and a little of that to create the best ROM.
Adding this to our Nexus would be a win.
Get busy then
I posted a thread about this a while back
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798760
so far no good replies.....I remember reading something about not being able to draw in to the notification menu, so it seems to be rom dependent. I'm not sure about that though .
In any case, for the mean time I recommend using itching thumb as a task manager / switcher.
Also, I feel like this thread should be moved to development or themes and apps.....

Request wallpaper.

ok so i suck at photoshop or anything close to that.
is it possible to make something like ? if its not too much to ask ?
http://www.androiddissected.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/PlayBar-Screen-01.png
something minimal like that with
Camera's
Images and Video's
Entertainment
Games
Utilities
Google App's
build into wallpaper ? i only use those folders and a music player widget on home screen would be awesome if someone can help me with it.
Thanks in advance.

Wallpaper i can find
problem is i cant make those fonts or large icons like they are the part of wallpaper for the 6 mentioned folder's
The boxes are a uccw skin so try that widget and if they aren't there you can speak to the developer to make requests.

Humm not sure.. i have heard its possible using some app however unable to find one
Popup Browser is an always on-top browser that doesn't pause the app underneath and can be resized and transformed (geometrically).

It's not always on, of course. If you're on Paranoid Android, you can use the HALO app to make it a persistently accessible notification. You just open your notification drawer and tap on it, or use HALO, just as androidGod intended.
try omni rom....it boasts a multi window feature and has got great performance too
try xhalofloating window .. install xposed installer first then install the framework and then download xhalofloatingwindow and install it
there are 2 or 3 custom roms that does that.

Hiding the buttons

I find the virtual buttons a bit of a nuisance, I would much rather use gestures. I originally wanted to hide them only on my home screen, but it seems it's all or nothing with qemu.hw.mainkeys in build.prop.
I'm fine getting rid of them, however I'm wondering if there is a gesture system I can have instead, for example a swipe from bottom takes me to the home screen?
Edit: I'm on rooted stock 4.3.
I'm using cataclysm ROM which has a unique feature which fades out the buttons after ten seconds in any app. Other wise I think there's an xposed module that can have swipes to navigate.

Thanks man, turns out I was Googling for the wrong thing - once I figured out that they were called navigation bars I came across an app called " GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys" for rooted devices. (For future people)
I'd rather keep with rooted stock for now but I will be sure to keep an eye on it for when I decide to dabble in roms.
