Location Spoofer app - Ouya General

Anyone know of a location spoofing app that works?
At Bat works great with video and all, but I can't watch the team I want to if the location can't be spoofed.
I tried Location spoofer and location spoofer pro, but neither launch. I thought it might be a maps dependency and have google maps working, but still no go.
Anyone know of one that works or I can try?

I don't know about most of question. I only recently got my Ouya and haven't must time with it yet. As for At Bat, you do realize it does a two step process of verifying your location--GPS and IP. If both don't match, then no video.
Also, there may be an issue with it not having any kind of gps built into the unit. It makes sense because what purpose would it serve. That said, its possible that a GPS spoofer could still work. In regards to MLB, the first thing it checks is if mock locations is allowed.
There are some tricks around this I've used on mobile devices, but I'm not going to get into the discussion here.

[Q] Installing apps that require location

Is there a way to get applications to install on the Kindle Fire that require location? I don't plan on using the location part of these apps but I would like the other features on them.
I can't get them to side load. It keeps saying it can't install the application.
I still don't know why they didn't include WiFi location on this thing. That would be good enough for me and there isn't anymore cost to Amazon.

Have you tried enabling mock locations and even going so far as to set up tetherGPS?
Also, what apps are you trying to load that aren't loading?
I'm having the same problem with various apps. The good news is that the Amazon app store is expanding rapidly and the apps you want may be available there now.

Never heard of mock locations, I will have to look into that.
The two apps that I would like either or of are c:geo or the geocaching app. Mainly for getting info and logging.

Thanks, I will have to keep on checking to see if they get available. Being that they are location based apps, who knows if Amazon will allow you to install them.
I would love for someone to figure out a way to install the Google location into the Kindle Fire.
Mock locations work. In addition to enabling that and finding Assn app to fake location you'll need to enable network, gps as location sources as this fields outs used to determine requisite location processing regardless of whether you have GPS or cellular chips.
You should be able too follow generic mock location instructions for gingerbread, you'll also need to edit settings.DB manually.

Well the main issue is will the app install then? I'm thinking the Fire is rejecting any app that says it requires location services to be enabled.
Well I finally got the app to install. It only took editing the AndroidManifest.xml file. I took out the line that says it needs to use the maps library.. The app installs, but won't run because it requires this library. Force closes everytime. Now we know the issue why it's not installing. No Google libraries are on the Amazon Kindle.
Well I got the application to install and work successfully. The issue was not having the Google Maps framework installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20123452 .
And then on top of that I enabled mock locations which helps with the app as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362472

[Q] Any app that requests GPS crashes :(

Hi Guys/Girls,
My first post having got hold of my first Android tablet 7" MID A13 really impressed for the price I've not stopped messing with it, but I seem to have a problem. For some reason Google Maps and Google Earth seem to crash unless I use Location Spoofer to fake my location, my device does not have GPS but surly this shouldn't matter, any ideas?
Hi, if you don't have GPS, you won't be able to pinpoint your location.. unless you set it to a specific location.

Yer I understand that but Surely the program shouldn't crash on load is there anyway to permanently fake a gps position in a config file somewhere?
What options do you have checked in the location settings?

I have a Eonon head unit and every time I try running Sygic, all the settings reset and it tries to redownload data, so not really usable for me.
I have an Eonon GA2114 and Sygic works fine for me although I also find that it can start messing things up once connected to the internet sometimes.
The way I have it set up is all the maps are saved on my SD card so I dont use any data and you can then use an app to block Sygic access to the internet to avoid it messing anything up.

Really? I have the exact same unit!
I really don't understand what the issue is then?
Have you made any MODS that are worth bragging about?
If you haven't change the dpi yet; that is one MOD you need to do. I'm sure you've realised that the available screen space is not good. This gives you a 1024x768 type resolution, but you will need to override this for certain builtin apps like the Radio for example.
I must have updated my post just after you quoted me haha, I added some extra info
I've not really got any special mods although at the moment I'm working on using Tasker and AutoRemote to have any SMS messages from my phone displayed on the headunit and also an option to reply.
I'll need to give that a go! What do you mean by having to override it for the builtin apps?

I didn't realise you have updated the post, I always have internet in the car so that must be causing issues; I did try reinstalling a few time, but got tired of downloading all the required files/map every time I reinstall.
Here maps is the best alternative that I've found, but I just stick to Google Maps as it as free traffic info too.
Built-in apps don't seem to be developed to cater for larger screens/resolution. So, the layout goes a bit messy, overcame this by using Xposed framework to apply the higher dpi setting to those particular apps (no more than 5)

If youre using Xposed; try changing your IMEI into the same as your phone IMEI for example, I think this would solve the problem for you two both as Sygic checks over internet your IMEI for a valid (phone) IMEI. I had the same problem, but Sygic works perfect for me now. See the post below for the details. Good luck!

I have found solution how to make Sygic to work on ours devices.
It is wery easy and it finaly works for me, and I would like to share it with others. You can make it in two steps.
First of all you have to install rooted ROM. I have install update_4_4_4_RK3066_1024X600_7_MAL_14_05_2015.rar
You can find rooted rom for your device on this link https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxmzvLRI7-eNeVA2SWkwM1pLZ28&usp=sharing#listv
When you done you have to install Xposed IMEI Changer. You can find it at Google Play Store and start the app. Xposed Installer will prompt up and you have to give permissions to IMEI Changer and to install Framework if you did not already.
Than yo have to open IMEI changer and copy IMEI code from your smartphone. (I have HTC M7 and IMEI code you can find in Settings-Info-Tlefon identity.
After that you have to reboot device and open IMEI changer to see is it new IMEI applied.
If it is, than you have to go to Google Play Store, install Sygic and download maps.
Result you can see on attached image.
I hope that it will work for others.

How do you find Google maps data wise, does it use a lot? I had really liked the look of the live traffic feature of Sygic but I would need to be online obviously and that would mess up my maps etc. I had thought about using just Google Maps for traffic as well since its free but worried about how much data it would use with the navigation of it always on (suppose I could download an offline section but think they are quite small areas )
Thanks for that, will need to give it a go

I've installed IMEI Changer and this works great; a little silly that the orginal IMEI number doesn't even follow the correct format which was maybe the cause of the internet linking issues.
Will try reinstalling Sygic later and hopefully would have made a difference.

I have unlimited data so have never really looked into data usage; but I can say that it is not only traffic data you will be receiving but it would also be download map tiles. Downloading offline map data for Google is OK, I have tried it, but as you have already mentioned; you can only download small areas and these do expire after a month (I believe?).
My main issue with Google Maps is the non-existence of speed camera detection, which is why I used to use Sygic. It is now a trade off between traffic/cameras?!?!?!?!?
I have a GA2114 as well. However I can't download the HERE offline maps. It just says waiting to download and then says it's slow. Any issues with you guys? I'm running the latest Malaysk ROM.

Have you tried downloading the map/data on a PC then moving to the appropriate location on your head unit?

Yep, there is a Sygic Map Downloader application that someone has created. Very simple to use and you can choose the required maps and it will download it with the required data.
You shouldn't have a problem finding this application if you look in the usual/common places people go for downloads.
If you have trouble finding it though, give me a shout and I can point you in the right direction via a pm.

I have the AG2114. I use Copilot and it works wonderfully. I bought the usa full version for I think $9.95.
I prefer Sygic and I have got it working. Just change your system IMEI number to match you phone. Works a treat. Sygic also warns of speed cameras, sharp bends, speeding and all sorts vocally.

Would you be so kind as to say for which apps you've changed the dpi and what you've changed it to and how? Which Xposed module? AppOps or something else? I've noticed several things that are just way too large to fit properly and even Nova launcher can barely change anything which was a first.
Also, if you have a custom recovery, which one?
I've only rooted, put Viper4Android, Xposed and IMEI Changer on so far. As for navigation Waze seems a popular option for those not dead set on Sygic like I am since I have world wide license already and a major reason I bought this damn thing in the first place (GA5153F). Bummer is that if one goes for the Car Navigation app over the regular one it's bye bye Snoop Dog directions but overwise it seems better laid out. Now I'm tearing my hair out trying to get the E1750 3G modem to work. There's not even a Mobile Networks setting in the menu. Maybe this kinda stuff is why people flock to custom roms which I might at a later date but I digress...
Sygic seems to work on mine but no voices it's not muted

Faking location on Android Device Manager

Hello. Long story short, my girlfriend has overprotective parents who track her location and don't allow her to go downtown with me or go to my house. They use android device manger. And no, she's not twelve.
I downloaded a location spoofer app from the Google play store and put a fake location on her phone. I tested the app on my phone and the location worked. The issue is, on her account, it shows that her location is disabled but it should show the fake location I've set up, just like on my account. I've got a Galaxy S4 LTE and she's got the LTE-A version, my OS is AOSP 6.0.1 and hers is the newest Touchwiz, both downloaded from xda, both rooted. Please, is there a way to fake the location? Anything, I'd be very glad if you told me.
Anyone please?
Did u enable mock location in setting?
Yes, I have
Try other fake location apps
What fake locations app are you using? I've had great success with one called Fake Location Spoofer free on the play store. Also if you use lucky patcher you can get the full paid version but it works with free edition.
You have to root the Phone, then you can move the GPS-Spoofer-APK to /system/app and you can fake position without "Mock Location"
PS: Use the App "Fake GPS location" made by "Lexa"
I'll post the URL later

ADM likely does not report mocked locations, you will need a app that can use root to fake location instead of the standard mock location. An Xposed mod called "Hide Mock Location" will do the trick.
And for your bigger problem, I would buy a cheap ics+ phone for about 30 USD sign into it with the account that the parents use, and then ask your girlfriend to create a new google account to use on her main phone. Keep the cheap phone at home or school or whatever, and connect it to Wi-Fi.
Hope this helps! Glad to see some legitimate uses for faking location other than the pokemon go game stuff that has been infecting the internet.
Here is a cheap phone that will do the trick, feel free to use anything that will run gapps though.

Just modify buildprop to make it look like an s4
It actually works now without a flaw, must've been a temporary issue. Thanks a lot for your help! The thread is resolved.

Glad to hear! I tested it on my g3 with an aosp rom and it worked. :highfive:
Be careful, if you accidently turn off mock location, ADM will briefly report the real location and it may show up as a "last known location" for some accounts. AFAIK ADM doesn't have a "cheat detection" like PokeGo or Ingress.

Is there any plan for standalone use of Maps on GPS equipped smartwatches?

Is there any plan for standalone use of Maps on GPS equipped smartwatches? Tried asking this over at Google Community but their forum doesn't work -- any new question gets an error message and won't post, so I'm hoping to find some help here.
According to Android Pit, “It’s easy to get turn-by-turn directions on your Android Wear smartwatch. Plus, with Android Wear 2.0, you can do it without being connected to your smartphone if your smartwatch has GPS built-in.”
Even a Google Support article regarding AW 2.0 seems to indicate this is possible, just by downloading and using Google Maps on your AW 2.0 device.
My device, the ZTE Quartz, has been reviewed as allowing for stand alone navigation. It has GPS, a SIM card, runs on a 3G network, and has GPS. It even has a menu option for Location of using “Device Only” for GPS. Yet, I can’t use Google Maps without use of my phone.
Wasn’t this supposed to be part of AW 2.0, using maps with the wearable only? It seems there is definitely a sense that it should be possible, as I've indicated above . I keep coming across references to it being possible, but also feedback that it is not possible in real life.
I see Huawei 2 customers are also frustrated, having understood that they could use the watch only for navigation, and yet it does not work, according to threads I've come across, while trying to research this.
The ZTE Quartz Community suggests it is a Google Maps problem that maybe will be fixed in the future? The thought seems to be that AW 2.0 should be capable of it, but the Maps app is at fault.
Any plans to address this? Or will navigation always require use of both the watch and the phone? This greatly reduces the independent use of the watch, obviously, which seemed to be the point of AW 2.0, to address such.
Any thoughts? Is anyone on AW 2.0, with a GPS enabled watch, able to use navigation without a phone?
Huawei watch 2 here.
As for the recent time, i found navigation with the watch to be unreliable, lag and overall pretty useless. With or without phone.
The google app and the maps app got several updates recently so I'll give it a try again.
lg urbane 2
i have the same issue and searching for a solution. the menu already says: use gps inbuilt and smartphone and can't change the option.
can we edit this somewhere?

Hi, yes I use it on my Moto 360 sport (upgraded AW2) and it works surprisingly well. Maps are quite clear on watch, zoom in and out easily and pick a start and end point then the app will plot a route and navigate - all offline with no phone!
I'm quite impressed. The only app that comes near is Viewranger.
I made a standalone navigation map here, if you'd like to try it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.onibaku.standalonewearmap

This is looking really good. I want true standalone navigation on my Huawei Watch 2 4G. It has a sim so loads the route standalone and seems to be able to do everything expected...i'm trying the demo version now.
One question though...unless i'm missing something..how do you exit the app? I'm currently having to force close it.

I had not realised that the app does not cease to use GPS whilst it is in sleep mode, so I have added a button to exit the app properly when you drag down. I've just released it now.

Hi I have just bought the standalone wear map for my Huawei watch 2 and it works very well.
Would like to check whether we can record the tracks and have an option to display it on the watch screen in additional to the routes (plot out by defining the destinations).
If no, would there be plan in the future.
Thanks.
