[Q] Loud Audio Recording - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Has anyone seen video or heard for them selves how the S4 handles loud audio recording? I have a S3 and i know it sucks if you try to shoot a video at a concert...so how does the S4 do???

If you look on YouTube, someone posted a video taken by the S4 at a concert and it sounded great. They definitely resolved that issue.

definitely much improved

Horizontal lines at certain viewing angles

I am not having a happy time with Nexus 7 3g
I have had a 16GB N7 since August and loved the screen
However I am now on my 3rd replacement 3g and this one appears to have horizontal artifacts on across the whole screen at viewing angles that are slightly off dead centre.
So far I my 1st 3g was very yellow, second had stuck pixel and now this, not sure if I can be bothered to go for another exchange
Anyone else seen this issue or know if it goes away over time.

I believe this is normal. I notice the lines too if you tilt the Nexus 7 at particular angles. I don't think it's a build quality issue. Is this normal guys?

Black clipping (2013 thread) news from samsung.

Hi,
since i bought my note i discovered that it has black clipping issue.
The thing i've notice is that, if i set display mode to "film", in gamma test i can see up to number 3 (with a moderate predominance of red) and then black, instead of 4 and then black.
For this reason i assume that all our problem are based on a bad calibrate gamma but i'm a bit skeptical since some user don't have any problem.
all the thread i've found
There is some news, from samsung (after 14c oct) or supercurio? what do you think about a possible solution with upcoming JB release?
If you have your warranty why dont you go to a samsung service?

I sent mine back, got a new one from another vendor, the new one had the same issue. I actually have not noticed it for some time and watch alot of movies on my Note. I am using rocket rom v12.
Black clipping and blotches have marred Note since day one. Blotches can't be fixed as it's a "feature" of **every** Note's screen. My **fifth** Note also has blotches, but they are around the screen and not easily detectable. Black clipping can only be fixed in kernel: eg. Speedmod kernel has almost completely got rid of it.
Both issues have been discussed to death. If you need more info search Note and Galaxy Nexus forums.

Its a hardware issue. I have questioned many samsung service centers. It only happens when the brightness is low like in night mode. Otherwise its not appreciable.

anyway i asked again on Samsung developers
if they were working on this issue, they should have CLEAR idea by now.
luckily i have the same problem
this is the reply of samsung:
Hi,
We have no further news regarding the update.
We will let you know as soon as we get any any information.

Its the hardware issue and note was a beta testing device for samsung. So the issue is resolved in note2. So obviously they wont be changing the hardware of note in warrenty.

What was beta? Pentile screen?

Its NOT hardware!.. It can easily be fixed if they really wanted to do it.. Try this app called Camera JB+. It comes with a Gallery. Try the gamma image test in that gallery.. Much better gamma setting or whatever..

That clipping is only in very low brightness or in night mode. Its not present at all at the brightness levels present by default. If u decrease the brightness further then only u can appreciate it.

its present but maybe not noticeably..
the problem will be solved only if they will introduce the possibility of gamma tuning.
about note2...it's not pentile!

Vertical lines appear on photo and video.

Hi, I just picked up my SN-9005 from Australia.
This only happens when downloading or uploading via Wifi.. Camera Zoom FX seems working fine, but stock camera app.
A few peoples are suffering this issues in Australia and want to know if this is global issue.

UK here and I'm pretty sure we have the same problem. Your video file isn't there to be certain but I don't imagine two similar problems like this

Sony Xperia Z2 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 Video & Audio Comparison

Saw this on Youtube today:
This only concerns video/audio recording at 4K and 1080p.
Thought some of you might be interested.
The S5 does seem to have an upper hand on the front-facing camera, and in-door white balance is better.
The S5 video image is a lot sharper and more detailed with very vibrant colors. Whether those colors are more accurate or not I don't know, but it does look better in my opinion. Autofocus on the Z2 seems to be very good. The Z2 overheating after just a few minutes of 4K recording is slightly worrying, though. Makes 4K recording a bit of a useless gimmick on that phone. And, yes, lack of 4K displays and all that; it's still a prominent feature on that phone and should work properly.
I own both and am seeing the same results. The 4K overheating on Z2 s a PITA. S5 16Mpx shots in good light are also better than Z2 8Mpx Superior Auto shots (which is how I and 99% of users will take shots). In bad light both are pretty terrible.
Really torn... need to return or sell one of them soon.
Let's be honest guys. Samsung galaxy s5 beats z2 in anyway. Pictures are a lot sharper and more colorful. Audio quality is better in my opinion I believe in his opinion too cos he was using s5 audio most of the time.

Sony is advertising this phone for 4k video recording but it over heats and shuts it after few minutes. That's not okay and acceptable.

[Q] G2 Recording capable?

Hello!
I'm planning in buying a LG G2 but:
It is capable to record screen (w/ Screencast) smoothly?
I've seen the Snapdragon is pretty good...
Not sure about screencast as I gave up on it a long time ago.
SCR Pro works perfectly
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
Does it record at 30 fps with no recording lag?
I don't mind the app, it was just an example

The recording on this app of mine was made using it. Can't remember what framrate I used but I think SCR goes up to 50fps.
