SystemUI from International Version? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Will the SystemUI work from the T-Mobile or International version work on the AT&T S4?
I HATE the AT&T 4G/4G LTE icons. I want the Standerd icons at the top and from my experiences with other AT&T phones you CANT just delete them or change the image cause its several more images than the standerd one.
I did this with my Note 2. But afraid with S4 as there is no stock ODIN yet.

Can someone not help with something so simple???
I tried out the T-Mobile SystemUI but would NOT work at all so Had to go back and put the stock back on.

I'm with you..... I hate the stupid 4g icon in the status bar! I wish I could change I also!

You probably could extract the SystemUI.apk and replace the 4G icons in res/drawable-xxhdpi. I am going to do that with mine (and do other things like add an animated circle battery mod and remove the AT&T logo in the status bar using smali), but I am waiting until there is a working recovery so I can backup my system before I mess with system files.

Does NOT work out that way.... Already tried. Taking away and replacing the AT&T 4G icon with H+ or 3G and so on is easy. Its the DATA indicator images where is issue is, cause there is 3 TOTAL images for data for stock. But AT&T`s icons it has 5 or 6!

Still Looking for a way:/

Guess WHAT!!!!..... 4 HOURS LATER I got it! It removed the AT&T Label at the top gave me 4 signal bars instead of 5 like the international version and guess what H+!!!
I Changed the Build Prop! SystemUI had nothing its the BUILD prob causing this.

Are you saying you changed the status bar icons by just modifying the build.prop to reflect a "GT-I9505" instead of "SGH-I337"?

Yes!, So even on the international models if you look into the systemUI.apk the AT&T icons are still there but not used. its the Build prob that determines that.

haha, There is an ODIN file now. Messing with Build prob cant brick your device but can make it bootloop then in which you would need to use odin.

There is also a battery modded version of this theme which has battery % displayed inside the battery icon on the statusbar. The %'s displayed are 0,5,15,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90 & 100. Check screenshot below.
Procedure
First select Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Tweaks extras->Reset UI tweaks to default
Download the zip file and flash using AOR after wiping Dalvik/Cache.
After rebooting the phone, you need to follow the steps below to get the final look.
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Status bar->Clock color->#ffffffff ( white )
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Date and provider->Date color->#ffffffff ( white )
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Date and provider->Carrier PLMN label color->#ffffffff ( white )

If you want to have a sense like dock as shown in the screenshots, you will need LauncherPro or Adw for it to work. Procedure to get it working is available here. Png's for this is attached. I have also included a few Sense 3.0 wallpapers if you need them.
I have also included the fancy clock widget. Once you install the theme, you will find it in your list of apps.

[Q] Replace SystemUI to get rid of S5 quick settings

I hate the quick settings in the notification panel of my Galaxy S5.
I'd like to disable it. I've searched for an Xposed module to do the work, but the closes I got was a "Xposed G-Touchwiz" tha helped me to hide the S-finder and Quick Connect buttons.
So I was wondering... Is it possible (or will it work if) to replace the SystemUI.apk with a version from, let say, CM? I'm not sure what else the SystemUI do, but I've crazy seen people replacing it to get the S5 quick settings buttons.
I would appreciate if anyone knows how to get rid of the quick settings in notification shade of the stock Galaxy S5.
Thanks.

It won't work with a cm systemui.apk. will most likely give you a ton of force closes. There are many custom Roms though with it either turned off or the option of turning the bar off. Just pull the systemui.apk from these Roms and replace yours.

I've replaced the SystemUI,apk from the AOKP rom, but I'm missing something.
What I did:
In folder /system/priv-app
Renamed SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.old
Renamed SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.odex.old
Copy the new SystemUI.apk to the folder /system/priv-app
Changed permissions of the new file, so it match the permission of the original file (rw-r--r--).
Reboot
It didn't work. One time I got the same notification shade as if I haven't done anything. Other time the notification area was completely gone.
The problem, I think, is that I don't have the SystemUI.odex file, nor could I find it on the AOKP rom.
Can you please enlighten me?

How did you get that? Share with us, please!
Its an option in my rom. The aim of the rom is to make people realise that they dont HAVE to use xposed. There are still people doing things the old way and modding the base files. The one in the screenshot is part of Kitkat style and you can switch to it or a whole bunch of other styles in one click.
For example you could have S5 style but then turn toggles off....
And then maybe sfinder off....
Or have a carbon look with toggles at the bottom...
If you like to change stuff to suit your taste you should try it!

Hi! You just sold me your fish! (Its a Brazilian expression!)
I installed Alliance ROM and I'm pretty much satisfied. Nice work you've done!
But it would be nice to have those features on a Xposed module too.
One thing that I dind't realize how to do is how to get rid of the second page toggles (the page on notification shade that shows all the toggles). As a suggestion, it would be nice to have a way to hide some of those useless icons/toggles.
Just for future reference (for those who tried), do NOT attempt to use SystemUIs from other devices/roms especially on an odexed rom. Thats recipe for FC's and bootlooops.
Xposed happens to be my only option at the moment.
Goldie, I would love an allianceRom version for sprint! Until then, how did you do it? I tried pulling the systemui.apk but couldn't find an editable xml. Any pointer would be awesome.

Xposed IS my only alternative....
Keep the good work

Sorry it wasn't build.prop but an edit to the styles.xml. Took me a while to find it again and I can't find the original thread that I used. But this thread had the same proceude only, use the .Dark codes. Here.
Interesting
Changed dpi to 180 (from 160 - original) and .... WOW....
It just keeps getting better and better.
The kitkat firmware is very amusing and i wonder how many more secrets it hides from us
(btw its also an bug settings doesnt open up and neither does task manager(wanted to see how it changed)

I tried
And it was so freaking beautiful
But the only problem was
The phone and contacts app were not working along with the gallery app and settings app
Recent menu was working
Its just they were not working with the home button
I have assigned a gesture
And it was working with that
