Looks like the Microsoft stores may be exchanging units with people who purchased them this week. This article -

Seems to indicate that they people who purchased the unit will be able to exchange them for ones that do not have batteries labeled as Engineering Samples. I called my local store and they said they were not sure when they would be getting them back but would call once they did.
Now I am not sure if this is a real issue (I have not had the WiFi problems) or just something that Microsoft wants to take care of quick. Anyone else have contact with their Microsoft store yet about this issue?
I exchanged mine today. No questions, i mentioned the wifi issue and the battery... and all was taken care of.
The store was so awesome about the issue that they even hooked me up with a free 1 year zune pass.

My brother and I and my two coworkers purchased them from the Oakbrook, IL store on the 8th. We all received calls from the Microsoft store this evening and I can confirm what you've read. They didn't know anything about the storage onboard, but said to expect a call near the end of the week. My brother for sure has the WiFi issue, I do not, and my two coworkers haven't even tried their WiFi yet.

Looks like I got an engineering sample too but i'm back home in WA state!
Dell is now saying that replacement units will be at stores at the end of next week. Seems they made a full statement here -

Yah, thats the one i went to. But i didnt wait in line, i got there later (11:30-12) and snagged the last one.

Ah, I left right before 11:30AM.
Looks like since i bought the phone while traveling, Microsoft Store will be mailing me the replacement next week. And a 1yr zune pass! Amazing customer service...
Was just at my local Microsoft store (for an unrelated issue) and they took my info and said they expected them sometime next week. Will be a shipment just for the initial buyers. This store had sold 10 units.

I was browsing the best buy store in fountain valley and saw a guy carried 3 new transformer to the store from the truck. I inquired the manager about it and he told me that the stock acer distributed to Frys did not make to the store untill now. According to him each store in Socal has 3 in stock. Just an FYI for people who want it now

Fry's is crap. I've been trying since Tuesday.
The online website would say it's in stock (anaheim and sometimes ventura/city of industry/fountain valley).
I call, they say "i think we have one, please hold".... they come back and say "sorry no".
Website for HOURS still say it's available in store.
I place multiple orders for store pickup at those stores.
10 minutes later get an email saying it's not in stock and will be cancelled.
I live 45 minutes away from a Fry's (Anaheim and City of Industry), so I can't just go and check I need them to hold one for me.
Also being Fry's... I would not be surprised if these units are returned by customers and they put it back into the system. That's why it keeps popping up as available.
wow, sorry that you have to make a huge effort to own a tablet. Anyway, it looks like you finally got one at fry's. It is a great device and it will make all the troubles worth it. I can only laugh with you about how the transformer's availabilty is so limited that makes people searching high and low for the product.
I was wondering when the in store pickup would go live for Best Buy.
I went to the site just now & it still said to pre-order.
Out of curiosity I added the item to my cart. I was then presented with being able to pick the item up in the store. I was able to enter my zip code to see what stores in my area would have one. I was surprised to see that some stores had them, while others did not. I went ahead and pre-ordered mine. I'll be able to pick it up tomorrow. I can feel relieved knowing I don't have to rush to the store in the morning.

Hmm. In store pickup doesn't work for me.
It's only showing the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 10.1 - 16GB - Metallic, which is just what I wanted. The others do not seem to qualify for in store pickup yet. It also says not available for shipping anymore for that model as well.

I wonder how accurate these inventories are. I searched my area, Los Angeles, and it only shows that it's available for pickup at like 4 out 30 locations, all the others say unavailable.
In my area it says none of the Best Buy's around me will have it. That seems very doubtful.

Yea, that's what I'm thinking. For me, it's basically showing that no stores in L.A. have it. I'd bet inventory gets updated before opening tomorrow.
I've noticed they have now removed the pre-order button & replaced it with shop now. Also the 32 GB white version is now available in my area. Hopefully they will make updates in other areas as well.

What's up with the west coast stores? None are showing they have any of the models except a couple stores in Cali that only have the 16gb metallic gray.

Checked BB website at 9:30am Dallas time, none of the 4 versions are available, none. I checked all the stores the site would check for zip code, +/-30 in all, NONE. What a joke, yet again from Tablet Manufacturers.
Talked to a guy last night here in Texas about my 32GB grey one I pre-ordered and he said there were none that had been shipped but to check back around 1 or 2 because that was their afternoon shipment and it might be in then.
This morning I checked and 2 stores had them in stock. Now 4 do. I'd keep checking for those that are discouraged.
Thanks for the tip. Checked online, and website told me that the BB 3 blocks away had them in stock. The clerks didn't even know that they had come in or that they were on sale as of today. I asked them to look it up on their computers, and low and behold, they were sitting in the "cage" in the back room. Walked out with the 32GB Grey.

I was lucky enough to get a Tab on June 8th in NYC. However they only had the White 16BG in stock. Not what I wanted but they said we could swap it out when it hit stores on the 17th. So I woke up early-completely wiped my Tab and went to Best Buy in NJ expecting to swap it out with a black 32GB. To my surprise everyone at Best Buy was in the dark about it. It was like I was speaking a foreign language. They didn't even know the release date. I immediately called Best Buy CS and the girl checked the entire country. They said other than a few stores in FL & 1 in West VA they didn't have any in stores. Might be because they have to fill pre-orders but i find it really disappointing that they send out PR and hype it up as today being the firm launch datea and not one store has them.And no idea when they will be in stock.

Complete and utter lies. I got a 32GB at a Chicago BB not 15 minutes ago. No pre-order. No deposit. No questions. No sales tax, even.
None of the NY stores have a 32gb in stock according to their website.
I don't know how accurate things are with BB right now. No BB stores around me are showing available online, however my local Fry's has both 16gb and 32gb in stock. I find it hard to believe that the only Fry's in my state has both in stock but no BB's have them.

I pre ordered my nexus 7 from the google play store and received it 2 weeks after my friends purchased theirs at a local electronics retailer in Australia. I am glad there is no pre order from google play on the nexus 10

Personally, I'm going to wait a bit for any hardware revisions to come by and fix any possible bugs (Nexus 7 anyone?). So December-January for me.
Does anyone know how long it was after the nexus 7 release until it was available at bestbuy or walmart? I have friends of my family visiting their son in some town I dont remember the name of in SC and there are both walmart and bestbuy there and bestbuy has the possibility for international orders with local pickup and that is perfect as they don't have to pay anything. They are going back to sweden dec 13th. How is expansys? Are they reliable and handle returns well? I figure it would be easier for our friends getting it from bestbuy/walmart if the N10 would have any defects as they could just go back to the store and get it exchanged instead of having to deal with returns through mail to expansys.

I can't remember where, but somewhere yesterday I read it will be available in stores the same day as the play store.

I've tried Google Play on my Galaxy Note and on my laptop but all that there is for sale is Films, Books and Apps and no hardware.
I live in the UK and wondered if hardware was not available here on the Play store, does anyone know?

You can't access the devices section from the app on your phone.
Gotta get there on a computer, or you can access from the browser on your phone as long as you don't have links to play go to the app.

I think in the UK that the shops got the N7 about 2 weeks after google started selling them online, wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened again.

I just spent 20min waiting outside a T-Mobile store before it opened, the doors finally opened, I tell the rep I would like to buy a Note 4 and to my shock she said "we didn't get any". I called every other store in a 30mi radius and NOBODY has them. So make sure you call before you waste your time driving to the store.
This is all very ironic since I decided not to preorder so I could be one of the first people to get one on launch day I am pretty ticked so I filed a formal complaint, and encourage others to do the same (being polite of course). Stores are suppose to get shipments days in advance of a major product launch.

I live in NW Houston and working in SE Houston/Pasadena area so I called a lot of stores near home and work and about half of them said that Note 4 is sold out (calling within 9am-930am) and the rest said they are still waiting for the shipment and some said they only do store orders and directly shipping it to my home address. One store told me to hurry up in the afternoon because they are only getting 4 units. WTF?
Wow, only 4? I wonder if Samsung is to blame or if it's T-Mobile. Or both. I haven't heard of any other carriers having supply issues yet.

I mentioned I didn't preorder since I wanted to have it as soon as possible, I didn't feel like waiting for the UPS truck to show up. I called the minute preorders were up, they said I would get it on the 17th probably in the afternoon.

Sorry to hear you haven't had any luck locating a store with Note 4's in stock.
I'm south of Houston & planned to walk into a store to pick one up but decided to pre-order instead...certainly worked out for the better.
I called 6 different Corp stores and they all said shipment got botched and hopefully ups is delivering them today. Non Corp stores have them. Any reason not to go to a non Corp. At AT&T I got screwed by going non Corp

I've never gone to a non corporate store to get a phone. I know there are some things 3rd party stores can't do. It's kind of funny I actually work in mobile sales for a major company but we don't sell T-Mobile so I have to go get one at a store like everyone else. Our store actually only had 3 to sell as of last night when I got off(the rest of the shipment we got was all in store pickups for preorders) and I mentioned to management how BS that was.

Now that we know, ordering at the store is not it. Now you can tell UPS to hold your package while its on its way and you just pick it up at the service center. Everyone that live near KY gets free upgrade to next day air.
Got mine this morning at 10am. Showed up to the store at 9 and they told me they didn't have any and when I called at 10 they told me they had gotten 10 in and to hurry

As of 12:00 a vast majority of the stores in the bay area don't have any but one had a few whites and another had a few white and one black.

I was the same. I was really mad. but I got mine from a different store. The funny thing is all the guys at tmobile had a new shirt has the next big thing is here and they have nothing in stock
I played with the Note 4 for a bit but going to probably wait and see how I like the Nexus 6. The store only had a few left of the 8 they got.
I called 10 stores this morning in my area for 2 white (for a friend - got mine Wed). 7 had sold out already, 2 will not get their shipments in until after 3pm and 1 had 2 left. Unfortunately, they won't hold them so he's gonna try his luck at those 2 stores since the last store is an hour and half drive and likely won't be stocked when he gets there.
From what the stores told me, most of them got 2 white and 2 black and received their shipment later than expected but still sold out quickly. I'm surprised - they had so many s5 on launch day but I guess the Note 4 is a different breed!

Guess samsung just wants to "sell out"
So much for Samsung spending millions on marketing and promoting their phones only to mess up their store launch day
Well I dont even know if this is Samsung's or Tmo's fault.
Oh, there one store 60 miles away from me expecting the delivery in 30 mins. Crossing my fingers that I'll be able to get one 2 hrs from now. Cant leave work yet
