BT flash card reader (portable)?

Hello!
I've been searching for a (preferably portable) bluetooth flash card reader, so it can be used to read/write files without opening the case of the f-ing phone (yes, I'm very pissed at the phone designer, who made flash card slot in Fuze under the damn lid, which hard to open with a chance find the battery on the floor = the dumbest thing I've ever seen)
Changing cards in the phone is only one of the problems, another problem is that I install most of the programs on flash card, and it might freeze the phone when it's changed.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Hi there,
Depending on the ROM you have, the bluetooth file explorer works exactly as you want. You can send / receive files over bluetooth from your laptop. I will warn you however, that this is an extremely slow process when working with files especially over the 10mb mark. If taking the chip out is the main concern, I advise you to get the USB cable and put the phone into Disk Drive mode. That mode is not quite as fast as taking the chip out and using it in a card reader, but it is still MUCH faster than bluetooth.
Feel free to PM me if you need help or further explanations
Thank you for the reply.
By portable I ment something much much smaller and much cheaper then a laptop...
Since designer of the photo camera I'm using was much smarter then HTC designer, the flash card can be easily be removed from it, and that where the files I need to transfer are from.
I've seen so many portable BT gps loggers, that look like a little box with a usb dongle sticked in (the box is battery), why not make something similar, but instead of GPS add flash card reader bult-in the dongle?
I mean it makes so much sense, but I failed to find anything even remotely close to this...
I still have my previous phone 8525, with a flash card slot outside, perhaps I could use that phone for now...as soon as I can figure out how to set up the bt link between the phones...probably will need update the rom on 8525..

[Q] Accessing camera/SD card files from my HD2

I'm going on a 2 month trip soon, and will be taking my HD2 and my camera (nikon dslr).
I'll be wanting to upload photos as I go, via a wifi or cellular connection, and really don't want the weight or hassle of having to take a laptop when my phone should be able to do all that for me. Everything looks ok apart from the ability to get the photos from the camera ( or the SD card) to the phone. Using the HD2's camera isn't an option - it's not good enough.
What options are available for managing this? I'm thinking a card reader that will connect to my phone, or some way of directly connecting the camera to the phone.
A quick search of the forum didn't bring up anything, but let me know if I missed something that already covers this!
Use a microSD card and adaptor in your camera, then put the microSD back in the phone?
Or, alternatively, put the phone's microSD in the adaptor and put it in the camera if it has enough space on it?

[Q] List of Symbian phone in the US (SD card format)

Does anyone know of a Nokia/Symbian phone available in the US to unlock WP7 formatted cards? I went to T-Mobile yesterday and they didn't have any Nokias on display. I would like to have my card usable again.
the nokia N8 or any symbian phone running the same version os, you cannot unlock the card, just format. I brough my microsd alive yesterday using the N8, i dont have the phone, but i have many friends who works as promotors for nokia, samsung, LG etc. so i tried the N8 yesterday.
the instructions.
you can put the microsd hotswap or have the phone turned off,
the phone will detect the microsd, and ask for a passwork/id (after it's been in a windows phone, the microsd will be locked, and as normal you wont have the password/id).
press cancel.
in the main menu, goto applications, and select office, file mgr.
after you press file mgr., you will have 3 drives to choose from, the last one should be the microsd, and it should'nt show any figures of the size of the usage.
press and hold, you will have 2 options to choose from.
unlock microsd and format.
select format.
that it.
Nokia dumb phones also use Symbian right? Would the ATT Nokia 6350 work as well?

i think symbian ^3 only, you can try them on others, it may work, but have'nt tried it.
I doubt a regular Nokia phone will work. I tried a Nokia flip phone & it asks for a password, but when you cancel it didn't let me format the card. I went through every menu option without luck.
N8 and C5 works, tried them myself, c6 and C7 should also work, or the latest touch screen in the C series.
The Sony Vivaz will also format. And BTW... I put my microsd card into laptop (using adapter) and after multiple tries it did actually format !

How did you get your laptop to even see the card? My PC won't even acknowledge that I've but the card in the slot, much less offer to reformat.
I have a perfectly good 16gb Sandisk that is useless since I exchanged my Focus for a Captivate on Newyears Eve.
Any info appreciated.
I did it on my HP Laptop with Vista OS. Could it be that I lucked out ? It was a Sandisk 32GB MicroSD card (no class type printed on card). I have also heard that many digital cameras can format them so try that as well. And even worst case try this puppy...
http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/
sd formatter does not work.
Well... it was only a shot at it. And only a guess, but Android phones have a nice utility built in to format micro sd cards as well.
Put the card into Android based phone (2.2 version), then Settings>SD card and phone storage>Format SD card
May work, may not but there are many alternatives to get the card to format. Just keep trying. Like I said, I was lucky enough that my laptop did format after having the card in my Samsung Focus.
Edit: Also note that XP and Vista have some issues. Read article 40, 41, 42 from this list ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#cite_note-39
You could also try a laptop or computer running Windows 7.

corrupted SD card by WP7

I got this Surround from one of my client who went to a local phone servicing centre and ended up buying like 3 sd cards . The point is the curropted cards could not be found on my Win7 pc normally as well as using mini partition tool on my EVO , Desire HD , etc .
Finally read some where about accessing the file on Nokia , there i went putting it on a Nokia Express music and VIOLA .. i could format it ...
Just starting this thread for people to know about it ...

Nokia E66
Hi All
I can confirm that the Nokia E66 works perfectly in reviving a WP7 encrypted SD card.
Nokia C5-00 is failing big time because he needs a password to unluck the SD Card (why on earth, just zero the card down and don't whine stupid phone).
How about nokia E52? Will it work?

6700 has no cancel option, only select and 'back'. it's impossible to get past the password screen.
Somehow my C5 still did the trick! Just inserted and pulled out the memory card for a couple of times, then you can format the SD card! Itought it was only with the older Nokia OS to do it (Symbian 40?) but the C5-00 can do it too!
My Fujifilm FinePix S700 had no problem formatting a card previously deemed "write-protected" by my partition program.
XBmod just posted the solution:
