I can't able to update my Arc S via PC Companian. - Xperia Arc General

Hi frnds.
Im using DoomLord's kernal with AniKings Custom ROM.
If I want to go back original Stock SE my PC companian showing error.
pls help me.

It shows error because you must have locked bootloader to use PC Companion or SEUS.
You can go back to stock SE by:
-flashing a .ftf file
-locking your bootloader and using PC Companion or SEUS
Also you have to flash the stock wifi modules if using DooMKernel v15. Flash them before flashing stock SE, otherwise you don't have how to flash them.

How did you unlock your bootloader?

Just a simple question bro, if bootloader is unlocked, locking it will make things back to the same status as if it was never unlocked?!

No, DRM is still lost

No, there isn't.

Right, but not a big loss, TrackID and like function in the music player won't work anymore, I didn't ever used the like function, and the TrackID can be replaced by other apps like Shazam or SoundHound, or you can use the new TrackID(I found it in the ICS Themes ROM... that aniking thing). The only risk of unlocking bootloader is that if you brick your phone and can't repair it yourself at least to relock the bootloader, you won't be able to use your warranty.

if that's the only loss of unlocking the bootloader then it's not a big deal, but I don't understand why do people unlock their bootloader if they have a newly released device.
Anyways Thanks for the info, I think I will definitely stay away from unlocking that thing

To unlock the boatloader you need fastboot. Problem is the SIM lock blocks fastboot. If you don't have a SIM lock or you unlocked it in theory you can now unlock your boatloader.
Try it and see what happens, worst case the program will just say your phone can't be unlocked.

To unlock bootloader make sure you have a flashtool go to the link given below
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
After following all the steps you will receive a email in you inbox it will contain a key save it for further steps, in flashtool open it go to drivers install all drivers back to flashtool there's a "lock" symbol which refers to unlock bootloader select it will ask you to connect in flash mode for that turn of you device and connect to PC while pressing "volume down" button and then plugging usb into device you will get a green LED below once it done it will ask you to connect into fastboot mode for that press "volume up" button and plug usb into device it will give a blue LED now after these steps it will ask you to insert a key "which you received at the first step in your email" insert that key and your bootloader will be unlocked.

How exactly does any of this enable "bootloader UNLOCK allowed:YES"? (Like the name of the thread indicates) That text is from the unlock/relock bootloader thread and it doesn't enable "bootloader UNLOCK allowed:YES". Fastboot is disabled on XSP with carrier-locked bootloader.

I flashed the Russian .245, Use it...It has all the languages you need: French, English and Spanish. All stock Sony firmwares have all the regular languages. Russian doesn't have the Japanese or Chinese keyboard. You can't unlock the bootloader on a carrier locked phone, forget about it.
Has anybody tried this solution ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423756
I bougth a simlocked xperia sp.
I've unlocked my SP with nck, now i can use any simcard.
But i've bootloader UNLOCK allowed: NO
I flashed 2.245.GENERIC-DE via flashtool, still unlock allowed no
Have you any further ideas to change it to unlock allowed yes?
If phone was brought as a carrier locked device and boot loader unlocked says no,you can't change it.
you can try call the company you brought from and ask for code or take to independent phone store and ask if they can open boot loader or explain how to.
I highly doubt you will change the status.

Xiaomi's official stand on warranty

I recieved email from Xiaomi stating that bootloader unlock voids warranty.

[Opinion]So as long as its an software issue. Service centre representatives might ignore bootloader status.

I seriously doubt that unlocking of bootloader can void the warranty, it is done by MiFlash automatically, which is official tool from Xiaomi, used for flashing official Xiaomi ROMs. Situation might be different for devices with MIUI and I assume that support used just pre-defined answer to your question.

And OEM providing support for unlocking bootloader is nothing new.
Sony does too and sony provides unlock code faster for me it was instantly unlike Xiaomi's waiting policy

Any reason not to relock boot loader after installing Android P Preview 2?

In following the Essential support page's instructions for installing the Android P Preview 2, I unlocked my boot loader.
Now I'd like to relock the boot loader, but I remember reading a thread here about a guy who tried to relock the book loader after having installed (and maybe uninstalled) a custom ROM. He ended up bricking his phone.
Is there any danger in relocking my boot loader if I have only installed factory-provided versions of Android?
FWIW, my first attempt to load Android P did go well; wifi wouldn't work. I reinstalled Oreo. The next day, I tried side loading Android P, and that went fine.

If you are all stock and no root, no harm in relocking the boot loader.
Just make sure you haven't done any modifications to your phone..
You didn't actually need to unlock your phone to sideload the Android P preview. Sideloading an OTA works with a locked bootloader. Your phone needs to be fully stock if you plan on relocking your bootloader. That means no custom recovery, no root and no modifications to the system partition. You can definitely run the Android P preview with a locked bootloader--I am--but if your bootloader is already unlocked you want to make sure your phone has no custom modifications before relocking it or you will brick your phone. Relocking your booloader will also erase all your data.
I see no reason to relock it whatsoever. High potential risk, and what is the gain?

Passing safety net without screwing around with magisk. And getting OTA's which have been pretty frequent since launch. That's what's kept me stock!

You can definitely run the Android P preview with a locked bootloader--I am--but if your bootloader is already unlocked you want to make sure your phone has no custom modifications before relocking it or you will brick your phone. Relocking your booloader will also erase all your data.

Yeah, I realized that I could sideload the AndP preview only after trying the "recommended" fastboot method described on the Essential site. The only reason I unlocked the bootloader was to flash AndP, following Essential's instructions. Then then fastboot method didn't even work.

Passing safety net without screwing around with magisk. And getting OTA's which have been pretty frequent since launch. That's what's kept me stock!

Will I not be able to get the next OTA (actually Over The Air) with my bootloader unlocked? Some users have reported that their PH-1s accepted an OTA even with an unlocked bootloader. Here's one example:

Really? I just wanted to confirm this. This could be the reason I leave my bootloader unlocked, since I could presumably sideload the next AndP preview OTA.

Having an unlocked bootloader has no effect on OTAs. Rooting, installing a custom recovery or custom kernel is what causes OTA issues.

Every time you unlock or relock your bootloader it erases your data like a factory reset. But having an unlocked bootloader by itself doesn't prevent you from installing OTAs normally.

Excellent, thank you for the explanation.
certain apps will not show in the app store if your bootloader is unlocked, like netflix, dont know about others.

I've had my bootloader unlocked on many phones including this one, and use netflix on them all. This is not a common thing and I would say has to do with something else other than that. Apps don't see your bootloader status.....

here's some light reading for you:
https://www.androidcentral.com/netflix-pulls-service-rooted-and-bootloader-unlocked-android-phones
and a quote:
Rooted users started noticing the app gone from Google Play on their devices over the weekend, and Netflix eventually confirmed it did this intentionally. The streaming service is now using Google's Wildvine DRM to block the app from rooted devices that don't pass Wildvine's security status, and its Google Play listing will not appear for devices that fail a SafetyNet check, which not only rules out rooted phones but also unrooted phones that are bootloader-unlocked.r

Do you want a screenshot? I can find it in the app store. I'm looking at it right now. I've installed it from the app store every time.
Go ahead and be a **** though if it makes you feel better
