To unlock the boatloader you need fastboot. Problem is the SIM lock blocks fastboot. If you don't have a SIM lock or you unlocked it in theory you can now unlock your boatloader.
Try it and see what happens, worst case the program will just say your phone can't be unlocked.

How exactly does any of this enable "bootloader UNLOCK allowed:YES"? (Like the name of the thread indicates) That text is from the unlock/relock bootloader thread and it doesn't enable "bootloader UNLOCK allowed:YES". Fastboot is disabled on XSP with carrier-locked bootloader.

If you unlock the bootloader you will lose the DRM Keys, BE2 or X-Reality WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE
I flashed the Russian .245, Use it...It has all the languages you need: French, English and Spanish. All stock Sony firmwares have all the regular languages. Russian doesn't have the Japanese or Chinese keyboard. You can't unlock the bootloader on a carrier locked phone, forget about it.

Has anybody tried this solution ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423756

I bougth a simlocked xperia sp.
I've unlocked my SP with nck, now i can use any simcard.
But i've bootloader UNLOCK allowed: NO
I flashed 2.245.GENERIC-DE via flashtool, still unlock allowed no
Have you any further ideas to change it to unlock allowed yes?

If phone was brought as a carrier locked device and boot loader unlocked says no,you can't change it.
you can try call the company you brought from and ask for code or take to independent phone store and ask if they can open boot loader or explain how to.
I highly doubt you will change the status.

I can't able to update my Arc S via PC Companian.

Hi frnds.
Im using DoomLord's kernal with AniKings Custom ROM.
If I want to go back original Stock SE my PC companian showing error.
pls help me.
It shows error because you must have locked bootloader to use PC Companion or SEUS.
You can go back to stock SE by:
-flashing a .ftf file
-locking your bootloader and using PC Companion or SEUS
Also you have to flash the stock wifi modules if using DooMKernel v15. Flash them before flashing stock SE, otherwise you don't have how to flash them.
How did you unlock your bootloader?

No, there isn't.
Right, but not a big loss, TrackID and like function in the music player won't work anymore, I didn't ever used the like function, and the TrackID can be replaced by other apps like Shazam or SoundHound, or you can use the new TrackID(I found it in the ICS Themes ROM... that aniking thing). The only risk of unlocking bootloader is that if you brick your phone and can't repair it yourself at least to relock the bootloader, you won't be able to use your warranty.

People with bootloader unlock allowed:no [how to unlock it] (GSM ONLY NOT CDMA!!!)

Hi people I didn't know whether to post this in the android development forum so I posted it her.
Soooooooo.......... For people that are confused when they dial in *#*#7378423#*#* and they find out that it says boot loader unlock allowed:no.
I am just going to clarify a few things. Don't worry its not the end of the world you can still unlock your bootloader. thats the good news. The bad news is that it will require you to pay some money. You are probably having this problem because:
a) Your phone is sim locked
b) You are using the R800at or R800X if so then get out of this forum!!!!!!!!
So to solve this problem you will have to sim unlock your xperia play although, you MUST use a software that uses the phone's testpoint to sim unlock the phone e.g. Omnius any other unlocking method used that does not use the phone's testpoint will NOT work.
Once you have done that taaa daaaa!!!! now when you go into the service menu it should say bootloader unlock allowed.
Although your not done yet, now you will have to unlock your bootloader this is FREE to do in fact sony ericcson offers the instructions how to do it themselves. Here is the link to the instructions:
unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions
Since i'm a new member xda not letting me put in any hyperlinked links.
Make sure you know the risks of unlocking it!!!!! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

No i'm just saying this because the requirements to unlock the bootloader on the se website says make sure it says boot loader unlock allowed: yes
I haven't tried using fastboot or anything this was just for people that were stuck here in unlocking their boot loader i was just sharing that it changes to yes when you take off the sim lock and i know it is possible to unlcok the bootloader of it even though it says its not the steps i have given does unlock the bootloader as i myself have tested it on my friend's o2 locked phone.
On my phone it says
Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlocked allowed: Yes
so do i have to pay money to unlock it or what?
I'd like to try and root it.
My phone was originally locked to O2, I got it sim unlocked from them and i still have bootloader unlock allowed:no ...
You have to do TEST POINT METHOD!
This Unlockes your Sim lock i think as well as fastboot which you need to unlock,
sim locked phones are branded and have Blocked Fastboot with a Unknown Patch the Bypass is test point method however you Must Not ever Update VIA PC companion or OTA Doing so = a brick.
If you want to pay up the money go to Aljendrissimo he has proven 12,000+ people with SE phones Bootloader Unlocked with OTA fix ans Pc companion which means you can have the ICS update but its got the sony suite

If it says bootloader unlock allowed:yes then you don't need to pay to unlock your bootloader just go to the link I put up and follow the instructions.
Also,on the other comments yes this does indeed has to be done through test point method which is very easy many sites do this, I used cellunlocker.net's se unlocking software to unlock mine. I also checked yes by doing the testpoint method it also, gives you the option to unlock the bootloader I do recommend omnius because you can by a android unlock liscense for just 10 pounds but to clarify you DO need your sim unlock to be done through test point so you can be able to unlock the bootloader

It has been broken down for you on the first page, if you do use the test point method then you can't do OTA updates which means, you can't officially update your play when offical updates come out but it's not all bad as you will be able to flash the offical update with a FTF with the flash tool. It is recommended to use the test point method.

No I don't think that is true because you cannot do OTA updates only if you have a locked boot loader i'm not sure where you got your info from mate but i'm pretty sure all the test point method does is sim unlock your phone and does something to make the bootloader unlock possible and that is what I m trying to find out- what it does to make the bootloader show yes .
I have confirmed with various trusted sources if you are still able to update even if you are sim unlocked with test point and they are saying yeah only if you haven't unlocked the bootloader.

[Tutorial] Relock Xperia Z bootloader

Good day my friends:laugh:
I will show you how to relock the bootloader of XZ
Flashtool version used: flashtool-0.9.10.2beta
Download the latest Flashtool ( found in OG android development forum)
Install the Flashtool drivers found in the drivers folder
Connect phone in Flash-mode (phone shut down, volume down + power)
Press the BLU button
Press the relock option
Put a stock .tft firmware in the Flashtool firmwares folder (this is required!!)
Flash the firmware (this is required!!)
Done
You will now have a locked stock xperia z
Extra info by Flashtool developer:
A litte explanation :about relocking / unlocking :
When relocking the device, I save the unlock code into custom\DEVICESERIAL\unlock.txt
If ever you relocked using another method than BLU from FT (with a custom ftf for example), then you must create this file by hand to be able to unlock the device again.
This file must contain the unlock code. One line only, no carriage return.
i am not responsible for bricked devices
can you link to the Flashtool version you are using just to save any confusion
is it no any problem after using this method to relock Xperia Z???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162907
The OP describes more about relocking and then unlocking again.
Would this be enough for a warranty repair/replace? Or would, say, Amazon have access to a list of unlocked device IMEIs?

Unlocking bootloader 11W29+? (UN)Useful thread

I know we already have a lot of threads about unlocking bootloader but I've made this one to resolve our/mine doubts on is it possible to unlock bootloader on 11w29+ (don't count 11W33-34)
We have several tools, but which one can unlock 11w29+?

2.SE Tweaker Tool ---------> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462278
3.Plasma Tool -------------> http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f778/free-plasma-tool-v-1-0-2-2-released-exclusive-1612826/
4.Wotanserver -------> http://www.wotanserver.com/en/sony-ericsson/se/xperia-x8-e15/unlock-tool/debranding-flash
Which one can unlock 11w29+???
In this thread we can see that one of XDA member/owner of X8 hard bricked it using paid unlcoking method from WOTANSERVER but also a 2 oher members which have successfuly unlocked 11w29+ with the same method,WOTANSERVER.....
According to Plasma Tool developer, that program will unlock every bootloader which have date code 11Wxx...
Please, all of you who have tried these tools and methods to reply with answer on Have you managed to unlock 11w29+ and HOW
Thanks and I apologize for creating another thread about this....
I managed to unlock mine with 11w38 simply with the help of flash tools..

IF you're doing it , hope you may report back your unlocking status.
some said it's all matters with one's LUCK to successfully unlock 11W29+ .. but how come it is real.,,,,,, for example if someone successfully unlock his BL with 11W33 and then relock it . is there gonna be a chance of hardbricked if he unlock his BL again???...

CAMERA CRASH due to unlocking of Bootloader FIX(without TA backup)

Hi, I may have found a way to get your camera back if you unlocked bootloader without a TA backup.
I accidentally found it and not sure if it will work with others. Definitely worked for me though.
STEPS
1. Flash a .534 firmware
Download .ftf file for .534 firmware
Code:
https://mega.co.nz/#!K1QD1bSK!JkgNvz3Tqb6lq4brVUEyZGraOjMQuTuzn8IaEFhQhUI
2. Go to Settings>Backup & Reset>FACTORY DATA RESET
3. Wait for it to finish.
Please post if it worked for you. :highfive:
This will be very helpful for those waiting for a fix.
I don't believe this works.
i concur, pretty sure this wont work.

Ok, then.
Send me a screen shot of this
dial *#*#7378423#*#*
goto service info and then configuration and screen shot that
Then please post a also post a screen shot of your camera working
I bet your bootloader is not unlocked.
PS
I will be very pleased if I am wrong, but I seriously doubt it
Not Working
Ive test it 2 times and focus still not work. Camera and Flash work but it doesnt focus.
Flashtool show "12/059/2013 21:59:32 - WARN - This file is ignored : simlock.ta" but i think has nothing to do with de focus :/
It also has nothing to do with unlocking the boot loader or this problem

@z1andj
Mate....what you did is - your camera was broke because you downgrade from 257 to 534 and that's why factory reset helped.
You could fix it also just by going to settings/app and clear data and cache from camera app.
As @gregbradley said - you are on locked bootloader for sure.
Many great devs are working on this, probably even Sony can't fix it for now and I really doubt simple factory reset could fix that...

Guys, I'm fairly new to Android and very new to customising my phone.
When I do the *#*#service menu and go into service info and then configuration under bootloader unlock allowed it says YES.
does that mean that it is unlocked or that I can unlock it if I want?
And if I unlocked it, would my camera disappear even though it says that I am allowed to unlock it?
Thank you very much... I'm really trying to understand all this...

Ok I think I found my answer:
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/unlocking-boot-loader
I never realised Sony themselves would give guidance on how to unlock the bootloader.
This is all a whole new world to me... Lol
I think the best thing I did all year, apart from go on a safari, was to sell my iPhone 5S to a recycling company...

It means that you have permission from sony to unlock the bootloader. But it doesnt mean that you have it unlocked.
And at the moment if you unlock it, you will loose camera functionality.
