convert data partition not enough space on partition error.. what to do

Welcome to the forums.
Tried flashing a voodoo kernel or something?
Download ODIN (below). It does not work on Macs. You will need Heimdall and can be found HERE << LINK.
HERE IS ODIN << DOWNLOAD THIS

Move all files to Desktop.
- Mount your phone and move the rom to the internal (sdcard/ ) & the update.zip file (if needed)
- Power down the phone, or pull the battery.
3 - DOWNLOAD MODE
*NOTE - IMPORTANT*
On my PC, ODIN will NOT work when my camcorder is plugged in.
If you notice ODIN not working, you may pull the battery if it has not started/hung (again, at YOUR risk, not my fault/responsibility). Remove any USB devices just in case if you are worried about it, I have to.
Quote
1- Open ODIN on your PC. (DO NOT PRESS/SELECT ANYTHING IN ODIN!)
2- Plug in the USB Cable to PC
(preferably the one that came with your phone *My N1 cable doesn't work??*)
3- Power down Phone if you had not already.
4- Remove the battery.
5- Plug USB into Phone.
6- Hold down BOTH volume buttons and while holding both, insert the battery.
7- Two to three seconds later your phone will be in Download Mode.
Be mindful to not remove connection while ODIN is running.
** ALT METHOD
You can also just power down the phone, open ODIN, load the pit and tar, connect USB to pc, hold both volume buttons and connect USB to phone. This is how I do it. Some are not able to do this so the above instructions were used just in case. **
4 - ODIN

Go back to ODIN on your PC. Should be a yellow box under ID COM, Something like COM 5. If not, likely a problem with your drivers, see this THREAD FOR DRIVERS that I created. Should help. If you were on Cyanogen or MIUI you may need the Nexus S Drivers, Google them.
Click the PIT button, Select the PIT file from desktop
Click the PDA button, select the TAR file
** Re-partition is checked now in ODIN - THIS IS APPROPRIATE!! **
Click Start. Unless ODIN hangs, you should see a progress bar start soon after. The process takes a few minutes and you told ODIN to reboot once done.... so... when your phone boots up, you are on stock JFD.
IF ODIN HANGS ON YOU:
- Are you using my files (all 3 of them?)
- Did you check the MD5 using Hashtab (LINK)?
- Are you using the cable that came with your phone?
- Have you tried other USB ports on you PC?

Sorry I'm new to android and I've noob question
What do you mean:
1. ...to a tar file.
Do I have to create a file or it will be included with the download file or what?
2. Put the phone in to Download mode ready for flashing.
Is this Debbuging Mode?

Inside the 300MB .zip file is a 500MB .tar file. You only need to extract the zip and not the tar (which is also a archive format).
It's not debugging. Follow the instructions below that link and you'll see what it means . It's non-destructive, just power the phone off or remove the battery to restart the phone again.

Maybe clearer in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13712988#post13712988
Ooops, didn't see your guide when I looked in the ROM forum earlier Intratech.
You're welcome to add my Hotfile links in your thread.
I couldn't download from Megaupload earlier, limit reached for free users so i grabbed the ROMS from the Samsung server.
Can I flash the SIM free one on an O2 phone? Is the only difference the splash screens?

It's ok, I made it here and I think one of the mods got confused and moved it or something. No biggie.
Thanks to an awesome member, David Horn, we are getting a fast host setup to host firmware and will be testing it shortly.
I'll knick the O2 firmware off you and link it in that thread.

It will change the sales code to generic UK code, XEU, and remove all the O2 branding. It will not unlock the phone though.
Mujja, Intratech thanks for that. I have this done.

[GUIDE:In development] Updating + Rooting the Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE (4G) for Verizon

Like my guide? Support me via donations: [email protected] and I'll continue writing more guides on whatever you ask me
It took me a lot of research to finally get my tab updated and rooted...between hearing about the locked bootloaders and such, but now...I am going to give you my guide to success...
Step 1 - Prereqs
Download this file Root Files
Extract folder to desktop and install driver's if you don't already have them installed.
Connect your tablet with ADB (Debugging) turned off (Ensures it is in MTP mode)
Step 2 - Copying files
Copy eh04_update.zip (If on EG04) and Galaxy_Root to your tablet
Step 3 - Updating to EH04 (If on EG04)
Completely power off your tablet
Once off, turn it on, when you see the screen light up, HOLD power+vol up until you see two icons
Press Vol up then press Vol down - You will be brought into the recovery menu.
Press vol down until you are highlighting "Apply update from /sdcard" then press power to select
Press vol up until you are highighting "eh04_update.zip" then press power to select
Tablet will update - this will take around 5 minutes and it will reboot on its own
At this point you are updated to EH04 and can stop here if that's all you wish to do...Below I describe how to root the device.
Step 4 - Installing Clockwork Recovery
Completely power off your tablet
Once off, turn it on, when you see the screen light up, HOLD power+vol up until you see two icons
Press Vol Down and when prompted press Vol Up
If not already, plug the tablet in, install drivers if you didn't listen in step 1
Open Odin from the folder Odin.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Click "PDA" and select "ClockworkRecovery_LTE.tar.md5" from the folder you extracted
If Odin does not show your tablet plugged in (yellow box with a COM port number) make sure your drivers have installed properly.
If everything checks out - Click "Start"
Once It has finished writing, the tablet will restart
THIS PORTION IS COMPLETED! You now have Clockwork Mod installed
[I'll finish it up tomorrow, I'm beat from no sleep]
Thanks for spending the time to write this up. I've been through the process twice now, but it'll be nice to be able to reference this directly whenever I need to go through again.

[AT&T] Return to stock w/o computer with Mobile ODIN

Chainfire is a well-known developer on XDA. He has released numerous apps that are extremely useful. One of particular interest is Mobile ODIN. As the name of the app suggests, it flashes Samsung firmware onto your device. This is extremely helpful as it is often annoying to have to rely on your computer to flash back to stock. Furthermore, some of you may experience problems due to the USB port on your computer or phone. Also, this will not trip your flash counter.
USE WITH CAUTION. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE OR YOUR CAT GOES ON FIRE
This will not flash/re-partition PIT, IBL/PBL, SBL & EFS. (No need to anyways...)
To flash via Moile ODIN, you must have ROOT
As a safety precaution, you must have 80% battery power!
1. Go to Chainfire's thread for Mobile ODIN (here) and download the following files:
MobileODINLite-v3.00.apk
MobileODIN_FlashKernel_I747-v2.0.apk
[OPTIONAL] If you're feeling generous, then go do Chainfire (he deserves it!) and yourself a favor and download the paid app via the Play Market. Pro can inject root in the stock firmware prior to flashing!
Note: If you downloaded Mobile ODIN Pro, you wont need to install MobileODIN_FlashKernel_I747-v2.0.apk as it will automatically download the corresponding apk for your device.
2. Once you've downloaded and installed the two apps, go download AT&T stock firmware. As this is a huge file, download it on strong WiFi connection.
(MD5: 66c6dfae34fd06c098f07537d19943c2) <- MD5Sum of the zip file
3. Extract zip and place tar.md5 in the root of your internal sdcard.
4. Open Mobile Odin > select Open File... > I747UCALEM_I747ATTALEM_I747UCALEM_HOME.tar.md5
It will not flash the following files in tar:
aboot.mbn
sbl2.mbn
sbl3.mbn
rpm.mbn
tz.mbn
5. Check wipe data and cache & dalvik cache* and flash (select Check for MD5 sum).

Note*: While it is not necessary to wipe data and cache & dalvik cache in the app, it is suggested as to prevent boot loops.
nice guide
Pardon my ignorance, but when you say "It will not flash the following files in tar:"... are those files not needed at all or do we need to add them manually?
I don't think so as you don't need to flash boot loaders. Also, repartition is not necessary as were not using hellraised roms (yet).I am not 100% sure tho.

I believe it's a "safety" feature that the dev built in, because unless absolutely necessary, you generally don't want to mess with bootloaders, as those are the few items that can seriously f up (aka "Hard" brick) a phone if it goes bad. Also, it was found that some of the latest leaks from Samsung on various devices contained some shady bootloaders that noobs were indiscriminately flashing, so again, this helps save them from themselves

How to root, step-by-step.

ok guys, so first, i want to apologize for my bad english. im not very good when it comes to writing and talking.
let's go; what we are going to do is flash the ROM with aan included ROOT, with the posibility of wiping our device.
I remind you that: **I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE OR YOUR COMPUTER.**
**I RECOMMEND CHARGING YOUR BATTERY TO 100%**
**I ALSO RECOMMEND YOU TO MAKE A COPY OF ALL YOUR DATA**
YOU WILL MISS YOUR GARANTY IF YOU ROOT YOUR DEVICE**

First step: DOWNLOAD THE ROM Through this link and place it in your desktop.
2. you will also have to download ODIN 3
3.in Developer options, activate the USB Debugging option (Settings --> Developer options --> USB Debugging
Ok, you have to start ODIN and you have to get your device in Downloading Mode. (you will do this by shuting it off. and then pressing *VOLUME DOWN KEY*+*HOME KEY*+*POWER KEY*. when you do that you should press the volume up key) When you are in Downloading mode you should connect your device to your PC.
4. Once synchronized, with Odin, you have to select "OPEN" where it says PDA. select the archive you downloaded before. (the one with the name *I8190XXALK6_I8190XEFALK1_HOME_ROOTED.tar.md5*) (you have to uncompress that item before using it)
5. then you press start in Odin, and wait 'til the instalation finishes. the your device should reboot and odin should show a message saying PASS!
6. then you should be able to boot your device like you do normally.
EXTRA STEPS JUST IF YOU HAVE ANY ERROR
1. if you cant boot, you will need to WIPE your device instaling this archive and use it like in step 4 through the PDA button.
2. if you still have any problem, you should install this following step 4.
how your device should look like

}
Any problem or suggestion, please comment and thank.
This will install an older December rom! I'm afraid it's a step back, and bad advice.
Most countries have moved on from the LL2 rom in that file.
The instructions also mention the LK6 rom, which is even older, and not attached above.
this is avicoh first rooted rom and it was posted here on the forum long ago. I dont know why u reposted, to be honest i wayted for u to post but thought u come up with another solution that doesnt include Odin.
Best regards,
Yeah this isn't anything new, I and everyone here thought there was some kind of new ROOTING method. The Rom is already Rooted.
