thanks for the great news
is that the source code or i am wrong

Yes ist this a virtual machine? I dont get realy the goal of this project.

WOW.... this is excellent stuff !
i really hope they manage to get it working fully...
if scummvm gets ported all the compatible games already running in other platforms could run in bada.. am i thinking correctly?
i hope this will be compatible with bada 2

Amazing! I am Loving it!

Look like Stratagus, game (engine?) able to use data files, scripts, map, etc. from original games (Stratagus is able to use Warcraft and Starcraft).
Something like re-make with original data

huh, i have already mentioned the development process in our russian bada blog - don't forget to visit us as well )

link monkey in italian ?

I guess we can install this emu's early stage version. because I install it already for testing on Bada 2.0.1 . It works, but I couldn't understand how it is work.

those who pass me some games ?
sub italian
2.0 works on my bay, I have to try the games

For those asking what this is all about (and not having the time to google it ):
Scumm was the game engine developed by LucasArts in the 1980's and 1990's for their (mostly excellent) graphic adventures.
ScummVM is basically a virtual machine that enables running almost all of those games in recent OS's.
You can try it in Windows (ScummVM for windows has been around for some years now) and other platforms.
All you need is ScummVM and the original game files (flying around the net... lots are even free).
We see all this fuss because some of these games are VERY good (some may even be in the "best games ever" list). So its a great adition to bada phones.
I recommend playing:
- DAY OF THE TENTACLE
- FULL THROTTLE
- INDIANA JONES AND THE FATE OF ATLANTIS
- INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE
- MONKEY ISLAND 1 - THE SECRET OF MONKEY ISLAND
- MONKEY ISLAND 2 - LECHUCK'S REVENGE
- MONKEY ISLAND 3 - THE CURSE OF MONKEY ISLAND
- SAM AND MAX HIT THE ROAD
- THE DIG
- BENEATH A STEAL SKY
Lets hope this project finishes soon

I have links to free ones?
www. ?

27 September 2011 The application was rejected again. This time due to a bug in the Humongous game engine and some other startup edge-case where the application appears to crash if you press the hold/mute key during startup. The Humongous engine problem was a simple null pointer fix. I was not able to replicate the mute problem so have just added some defensive coding around this area. I will try re-submitting again. The Sellers Office web-site seems to be down at the moment.
25 September 2011 The application was re-submitted to the Samsung Seller Office over a week ago, so just waiting now to see whether it will be accepted. The initial submission failed due to a couple of minor issues; the virtual keypad did not automatically appear when focusing on the launcher filter widget and sound could not be enabled if started while system mute was active.

Enhanced version of PicoDrive(best Genesis emulator for PPC)

Hi everyone,
This is my first post, so hello. I got my HTC Wizard (T-Mobile MDA branded) earlier this week and have been experimenting with it quite a bit since. One thing I really wanted working, since I'm a huge Sonic fan (and I legitimately own all of the cartridges, don't pirate!) was to get a working Genesis emulator going on the Wizard. I couldn't even get PocketGenesis to load, and MorphGear's genesis support is ludicrously slow on a Wizard, so I was about to give up hope until I found PicoDrive. This free emulator really needs more love, the core is written in ARM assembler and it BLOWS AWAY the alternatives. It only has two downsides: no sound, and no save state support, at least in the version available on the developer's site. I decided to fix these problems.
Now let me emphasize I did NOT write this program. The guy who did is awesome and you can visit his site at www.finalburn.com.
I downloaded the source and enabled the sound he had disabled for the release version. However, it sounds horrible, so I've left it disabled. I _DID_ add proper save states to the emulator, however. (It was a simple modification of the existing code for loading/saving movies) Since this was a feature I thought others would benefit from (and also just to encourage others to try PicoDrive) I thought I would post my modified version to this site. You'll find the Load State and Save State options on the Options menu during play.
An additional tip - by editing the PicoConfig file, which you'll find in your device's root directory, you can remap the key config for the emulator. If there's interest I'd be willing to add a GUI to help you do this in a week or two when I have time. (We're nearing the end of the college semester currently, so I'm pretty busy at the moment)
Let me know what you guys think, and enjoy! The attached file is an ARM exe, just copy it to your device and run.
Hi, where can i get the games to run with this emulator?
I used to love the sonic and mario games but i'm useless with finding the games.
Thanks for any help i get in advance,
Ash
I really can't tell anyone where to get ROMs; I don't want to do anything of questionable legality on this site.
Is there anyway of getting this to work in landscape so that you can use the keyboard??
oh wow i hadnt thought of that, id pay real money for a spectrum and bbc emu working in landscape and using the keyb
@maltloaf: i'll look into that in a few weeks and see what i can do!
as far as landscape orientation for picodrive, that's definitely something that can be done. i'll get back to you guys in about 3 weeks with a new version that'll have the most recent picodrive engine, as well as landscape/portrait orientation (i agree, i vastly prefer to use landscape mode) and keyboard config within the app.

Picodrive
Hello. I'm new to both forums and the XDA2. I cannot express how cool this version of picodrive is!
I have to say it took me a while that you have to copy the exe file to the xda then run it.
After that I couldn't figure out how to control it until I accidentally mashed some buttons.
Since then!!!
I love this emu, I love the games and now that it has been fiddled with it's so much better.
Thankyou!
I found a new version of Picodrive 0.047 on this forum and it work's perfectly! Fast, sound, landscape, full screen, remap button ability, and save. About halfway down the page is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...=0&postorder=asc&highlight=picodrive&start=25

Caisses : Sokoban Freeware

Hi Everyone !
I don't post to much around here, but I read the news daily I wanted to do a little PPC dev for my HTC P3600 with a friend of mine, and as he's using linux, we couldn't go with all the microsoft compiler solutions :s
So we just went with CeGCC and coded are own and easy library ^^
Anyways, here's one of the games we made, I'll post the others later on
Caisses is a Sokoban clone that includes 500 levels and 14 different backgrounds and themes.
The original version of Caisses is Caisses DS, a Nintendo DS homebrew coded by Kukulcan.
In this game, you are a warehouse keeper, and your mission consists in arranging boxes by pushing them onto their designated locations...
Boxes can be pushed, but not pulled, and the controls are simple : either point to the spot to move to with the stylus, or use the directional pad !
Download Caisses
Oh, beware, this is PocketPC ONLY, you need the touchscreen to exit the app :s
edit : tested on Pocket 2003SE and up, not sure how it'll go for 2002 and lower :s
I'll just up this topic a little, did ANYONE test it ? :s

Touchscreen is unresponsive on my QVGA device (Kaiser) for the game options (eg Play/Help etc) and I really have to press really, really hard to activate the choice I want. The graphics are awesome but I got frustrated after the first 5 min struggling to press my screen and play the game further...eventually uninstalled the game...
Here's an update which should work much better :
1.05
- CPU optimizations
- Ram optimizations
- Support for WinCE GPS
- Added Check and Cross to show which games are finished and which ones aren't in the level selection screen...
- Optimized theme changing routine (you can just move around on the theme page, you don't need to click everywhere anymore)
1.06 update : level 80 fixed !
Versioin 1.10 is out :
- Restart button when ingame to avoid having to quit and come back (triggered by the softkeys on smartphone)
- Fixed minor glitch on the selection screen
- Added full DPAD support in the menu
- 240x320 smartphones can now play 100% !
- VGA-screen friendly !
- Updated source code
great game. works great on my kaiser.
i am almost sure that levels 280 and 320 are impossible though. (there might be others but i haven't completed every level yet)
got it from freewarepocketpc.net gota say grate simple game to take up time..
thanks for tha work..

[GAME] DiamondTris - Tetris with support for VGA, stylus & wheel sensor

Updated: 2009-01-03, 21:05 (GMT+1)
Me and Swoop2 is creating a Tetris game for us HTC Touch Diamond users out there in need for a great one! Why I wanted to create a new Tetris game for the HTC Touch Diamond was because all of the Tetris games out there got some flaws (imo); not supporting VGA resolution, visually looking bad, running slow etc.. The closest thing I got was TeKnowMagic Tetris, but I wasn't satisfied either way. There's simply no Tetris game out there filling my requirements.
DiamondTris so far:
VGA resolution
Moving pieces - with the wheel sensor or via the on-screen buttons
Rotation of pieces - with the enter button or via the on-screen buttons
Line completion and destruction
Statistics: score, hi-score, level, lines done/remaining
Difficulties: easy, medium, hard (different speeds)
What needs to be done:
Some minior GUI tweaks
Sound effects
Settings (sounds, controls)
You'll need .NET Framework 3.5, which you'll find here
Changelog:
DiamondTris_20090103.cab:
Installs on device or internal storage
Creates a shortcut in Programs\Games
Pause function implemented
DiamondTris_20090102.cab:
New, better looking on-screen buttons
Added some statistics
Disabled piece rotation by tilting the device (needs further tweaking)
Application icon added
+1
sounds like a fairly simple and easy project... if only i had listened in class...
Why don't you get some pledges to encourage a developer
I would pay around £3 for a tetris game designed for our device
Not loads, but if enough people were too pledge their support...

i'll let hays pay £3 for a Tetris game
(and i suppose i could chuck a few quid in as well )
Of course I'm in for some donations if this game is created
I started a very basic Tetris app for my touch diamond a while ago - just as a play around as my first Windows Mobile application. It uses the wheel for moving the current piece left and right and I was going to have a go at using the accelerometer to turn the piece clockwise/anticlockwise (i.e. a flick to the left or right).
I've never used OpenGL or anything so it was just done using a timer and the graphics object off the OnDraw event. I got as far as creating the grid, drawing the pieces, moving them around and knowing when lines were completed, etc. Still had a lot to do but it was a proof of concept more than anything else.
I'm just a normal application developer and develop form based applications and back end stuff. If I can get to where I am with my effort in the time I have, then someone who knows how to write games properly could easily do something really good.

Ah, that sounds great! Got any plans on continuation of your work? Onscreen buttons instead of accelerometer sounds even better imo, and is easier to do I think..?
Care to share your source? I can have a look at it myself and see if I can get into Mobil application programming too... or at least someone else here can continue on your base work.
I do plan on finishing it at some point - though I'm not 100% sure when! I don't mind sharing the code anyway, so once I'm back home I'll try and remember to put it on here.

Sounds cool. Looks like I might get a good weekend after all! Do... not... forget... the... add... the source code!
Here's the source code. It is VERY much a work in progress. I started it as a windows application and ported it over to WinMob6. Here's a list of things that I know I still needed to do:
1. Optimise the graphics to get rid of the irritating flicker.
2. Add the piece rotation.
3. Add the score and level display, etc.
4. Decide on the size of the grid (considered leaving it customisable).
5. Add score saving and option saving, etc.
6. Add some backing music.
They're the things I can remember off the top of my head anyway. Lemme know if you have any ideas or questions, etc.

Sweet! I'm at home now, downloading all the requried applications to put up a proper environment here... big packages, so it'll take a while until I'm set.
I'll see if I can manage to do anything, and in case - I'll get back to you
Hi there again Swoop2!
Just tweaked the grid some, added some stats + onscreen buttons (stretched until later ;P) and changed some minor stuff. Here's my latest source. Thanks for sharing!
There's still bunch of stuff to tweak and add. Adding rotation to the game would make it fairly playable. The screen flickering is quite annoying, but perhaps we'll manage to get it working right in the future
Also adding a screenshot of how it looks with the current source.
EDIT: removed the source code, since there's a newer one out there.
Hi Sibbor
That's looking pretty good mate - I like it! I already have some ideas on how to fix the flicker - for the majority of the time anyway. Rendering the image as a bitmap in the background and then just drawing that should hopefully work like a double buffer or something. Also, only invalidating the relevant part of the screen instead of all of it should make a difference too. It worked for my other application anyway.
I'll try and have a play with it this week and send you an update

Sounds great! Made a few more changes but haven't got the latest source available here at work. I'll see if I can get time to upload it later. Otherwise it doesn't matter too much.
I reacted at the code where the grid updates, but have too less experience with WM6 and .NET to actually optimize this to a grade where we'll have no flicker at all. So with other words: I'm looking forward to your anti-flicker code !
I should finally have some time to look at this at the weekend so if you have an updated version can you post it on here?

Hi again mate! Good to hear. Sadly I haven't been able to get too much done since last time, but I'll attach the current source now.
Thought about the rotation and how to create it. Had an idea where you could destroy the current piece when rotating, and creating a new - rotated - piece at the given location. You got any ideas about it otherwise?
I've been looking for a decent Tetris game for Diamond/TP myself.
Question: are you planning on implementing the scrollwheel to move the pieces? I think that would be a nice touch.
Good luck on this. I'll donate to the cause when you guys have something.

Cool new free APP keeps vanishing !

I am a formula 1 race fan and the official website provides a rich and powerful java app for PDA's that is truly cool. It provides live timing, circuit data, weather conditions etc
See http://www.formula1.com/mobile_services/live_timing.html
The application detects I am downloading this to my HD2 and it installs well and runs quite well. However everytime I shut it down I have to go to the website to download it again !?
It doesn't appear in my installed applications list and I can't find the formula1.jar file it downloads.
Can one of the code gurus on here help track down where this app goes so we can have it all the time?
The only clue I can see is that it shares the same icon as the jblend application found in the tools section.
What is JBlend???
When I click on jblend I get the F1 2010 application appear with several options (one of which is local install) but nothing other than going to the full download works.
Can someone help please I am obviously not across the java implementation here
JBlend is a Java emulator.
Open it and your F1 app will be on list. Mark it and run - thats all.

Hi Franq, I get "Uncaught exception!" when trying that. Thanks in advance of any additional help you can provide.
A lot of people have had problems with the F1 live timing, the issue is Jblend. Install Myriad Java then download the Living timing again and it should work properly.
In fact I'll just upload the stuff

xavierdemon thanks for share! I did'nt know that there is some other Java emulator. I need it for emulate Java apps, which use Bluetooth - JBlend can't do that. I hope this one can. Thanks
Many thanks. I'll give it a go. Didn't realise the HD2 had such a crap Java emulator.

Hi I installed it and can't find it anywhere in my programs list though it is listed on my installed apps list.
Also I deleted the app from JBlend but when I go to download the app from the website again it choses JBlend to use for the install.
When I go to run the app I get the same problem in JBlend.
What am I doing wrong?
Reset after installing Myriad and then just unzip the attached file and copy the contents to your device and run it.

Brilliant ! A nice shortcut in the program group has appeared!
How did you do that ??
How did you guys get hold of the Install file and how did you setup the install to ask the extra questions such as where to install the app so it appeared?
Why did the application writers not write it to do this!?
LOL lots of question there but as I said before it's a well known problem caused by Jblend being frankly just utter rubbish .
The Live Timing is awesome though adds a whole new dimension to the races .
Agreed re the awesomeness of the livetiming. I always watched the races on my PC with the full web version of live timing running side by side to the broadcast. Now I can sit in front of the big screen and just watch the live timing from my PDA.
Many thanks

Hey xavierdemon, I am getting prompted that a new version of the app is now available for download. I wonder if you could create a package like you did previously for my HD2 using the updated version?
I'd love to know how you did this so I can do this myself and I can stop hassling you my friend.
Just use this link
http://mobile.formula1.com/download/start/HTC-HD2/Formula1.jar
Thanks very much
quick question on the java side of things. Is there a sun java version for windows mobile still? i remeber having it my artemis but i can't seem to find a copy of it anymore.
The living timing app does sound cool, though. I think i'm gonna go get it and try it out this weekend. I'm also wondering if there is something similar for the Le Mans 24 hours. On that note check out radio le mans. I used it last year for the commentry and it was so much better than eurosport.
I also had problems with Formula1 and JBlend.
So I installed Java Myriad
With Myriad no problem using Formula1 (2010 App)
But I can not run.
When I open Myriad, I have my application but I do not know how to run it.
So every time I pass by the formule1.jar which retry installation, then launch it.
How to run it from Myriad or better make a shortcut to launch my application directly
coooool!!!!!

if games work but need workaround/small tweaks should we still put it in the not working?
I feel like we should have several catigories:
Officially Supported Game
Games that work Perfectly (just as good as supported games)
Game that work (more or less) Perfectly w/ workarounds (require disabling a pre-launch splash screen, editing a configuration etc.)
Games that work imperfectly (require a mouse/keyboards on menus, can't load multi-player etc.)
Game that don't work at all (game just refuses to launch)
but I feel like we shouldn't separate them, just make in an alphabetical list of games and have "working level" category... also I feel like my idea doesn't separate games that run but don't recognize the controller...

I might be able to help a bit. I have 631 steam games. http://steamcommunity.com/id/PR0XIDIAN/ (4TB steam drive so they are all installed as well).
Nice, I was looking for something exactly like this. Added Prototype (working perfectly), Fallout 3 (working when GFWL is removed), L.A Noire (working provided you do the Rockstar Social Club signin from a computer and save the credentials) and added a disputed note for Saint's Row The Third.
Edit:
Added (Working Perfectly):
Portal
Portal 2
Added: (Not Working):
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Tweaked:
Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing
Bioshock
I added my findings to the list last night ... just one thing, why are there games listed on there that have NO controller support ... I mean there are millions of apps available on android ... if we list them all this way it will make the list near unusable

iOO that's correct we only want Android Native games that are either: A) Tegra 3 or 4 mentioned support) or B) Android games that support shields controls.
Some cleanup would help.
edit: we do want all android games
Bastion works perfect on my shield...not sure why it's listed as not working!
Controller works great, I think the menu must be navigated with the on-screen mouse. I launched through Steam Big Picture mode.

Has anybody read about Gameloft support for the shield? I really was hoping to play some of their titles on this device (MC4, MC5, and the Wild Blood game).
I think it is alright to list games that people have tried that don't have controller support. That way people can see if something works or not without having to find out themselves.

I have found other games that I am not going to bother adding since someone keeps deleting "Added by i00".
I have added 10 to the android list already... so you have lost a good contributer.
Also I think that you need to add an added by and added date column so that if someone adds a game that they say works someone can contact them if they can't play a game that is listed as working... and date so that people can quickly work out what games were added since they last viewed the list
Kris
I notice that is the game have moga controller support, it will most likely work on Shield.

I'm no mod. Not a senior member like yourself, although I have been been around a long time. I've added at least 20, I have 384 games installed right now, I will be adding more. Haven't listed my name nor wanted any credit. This is us shield owners trying to help each other get the most out of our cool new devices.
Thanks for your contributions and I hope you won't give up and continue to contribute if you choose.
Loving my shield Titan combo. Just wish I could get Kingdoms of Amalur to recognize the controller. Would love to play at bedtime leisure.
Cheers

I don't usually put my name on things... But I just think that in a shared document it is needed for control and so that the original author doesn't steal credit.
Also I am in Taiwan ATM so can't update the document .. But here are the new controller games I have found
Star dash
Zeninova
Legends of yore
Kris
I don't want to mess with the document.
I found that
Need for Speed: Most wanted (2005) does not work.
Need for Speed: Most wanted (2012) works.
Need for Speed: World Online does not work probably because of its login box.
Can anyone add "Blitz Brigade"? It's great, the new update of the game add support for controllers.
