LgCamera As Default Camera [For MiniCM Too] * Solved * - XPERIA X8 General

I have found the best camera app for X8!
I use the latest MiniCM rom, and the stock camera app is not ok.
You are not able to shoot more pictures in row, because the black screen bug.
I used Vignette before, but lgCamera is a lightweight and fastest alternative.

There is the lgCamera app for Android: http://www.appbrain.com/app/lgcamera/rubberbigpepper.lgCamera
You can buy the lgCamera Pro as well: http://www.appbrain.com/app/lgcamerapro/rubberbigpepper.lgCameraPro
[Q] But there is no option to set it to default camera, and I can't start it by pressing hardware button. Is there any solution to do that?
[A] To set lgCamera as the default app for camera hw button, use Button Shortcut app from Market. More info about this app: http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-socialnmobile-buttonshortcuts-qFB.aspx
[Q] Which audio and video configuration do you recommend for recording?
[A] I use these audio settings because the default audio quality is creapy: Audio source: Microphone. Audio encoder: ACC. Audio samplerate: 44100. Audio bitrate: 25600.
Video settings for pretty good quality and card space saving: Video resolution: 480 x 320. Video encoder: H.263. Video file format: 3GPP. Video bitrate: 2 Mbit. Video framerate: 25.
Cheers!

Nice replacement I think I'm gonna keep it
And just by the way, it's also available on market

thx a lot!!!i downloaded lg camera and it works well!!!But i found that there is option to set it to default camera. So i can start it by pressing hardware button

what different is between pro & usual version ? please

sometimes it stuck. and it doesn't save the captured image.

I have tried a lot without error. How has it happened?
And: yes, there is "default camera app" option inside of lgcamera app but it hasn't worked for me.

why do you said that about the video config? tell me why you dont use 640x480 as the resolution to record and why you use 25 fps when you can use 30, i am not atacking you, is just that you maybe know something about the camera that i dont , sorry about my english

To tell the truth, the most important things are the audio settings. Because the default sound quality is creapy. Video settings are up to you. I use 480 x 320 because of the card space. That is the optimal setting for me. And it has fairy good quality.

dunno. after capturing the image, there a loading circle appear, and never stops until i "end task" via ATK

there is an easier way you know..theres an option on the lgcamera setting to run on camera button pressed..just tick it and it will run when you pressed the camera button..

I noticed this issue first on saturday.
I restarted the cam app and it has worked.
This bug doesn't come up since then.
Anyway, to solve any kind of recording bugs try to place this file:
http://www.pashkovsky.com/x8/media_profiles.xml
to system/etc
Thanks for racht.

On a default 2.1 SE firmware:
Camera button is working for me by default if I want to open this app instead of the generic camera software. No freezes, fast as hell (now I can make 1-2 photos in less than a second ). Video recording works flawlessly, except when I tried to force the soft to make videos over the maximum resolution (640x480< ), because the phone has restarted itself, but it's ok, X8 can't make bigger resolutioned films as 640x480. By the way, the quality is really awesome, it's like an SD Handycam, not to mention that the sound is really-really good too (almost studio-quality)!
Thanks for this stuff!

Did anyone managed to get a better audio sync in the x8 running cm6 (Froyo) ROMs?? So far I get aprox 1 sec lag in audio when recording video.
thanks in advance.
EDIT: SOLVED, enjoy video sync!!! Use these settings to have audio sync in Froyobread!

oh its a must try application camera 360 is the best for me but no video capturing.

How to create time lapse videos on windows mobile?

Anyone heard of a program to make time lapse videos on windows mobile?
Time lapse videos are those videos made by taking pictures with a costant time pause, from a steady position and them merging them frame by frame.
I can't find anything for pocketpc on google.
If this kind of program doesn't exist anybody would mind to build/code it?
it could make some good quality videos(photo quality).
no one knows or is intrested?
bump up!
that would be awsum! someone support this please
Found Software
Found some software (via Google) which should do it. I'll try it on mine and report how it is.
-edit- tested and it works well!
Extract ZIP to Pocket PC, and run config to set interval etc,
then run exe to start the time lapse
WOW..thanks for the great find
Mugglesquheers
Do you know what the timer interval is in please? Minutes, seconds, nano seconds? Also what is the virtual key box for?
Cheers

I wonder how this will get affected if a call comes in or alerts go off. Will it run in the background or does the cam app have to be running in the foreground?
thanks for the great find
What would be ideal is not that appeared onscreen in the camera lens, but it would execute in the background, did not think?
yes, the program itself does a good job of taking pictures at a specified interval, but it doesn't create the video file and it's not much user friendly, peralphs some talented coder could write a more complete solution? isn't this the right place to ask for such things ;p
THANKS!!!!!!!!
thanks

, but its not free..
they have a trial version though.
On windows mobile 5.0 and 6.0 is used the amazing program CoolCapture to make my 720p HD movies... but it isn't supported on 6.1 anymore...
check for an example: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PS7P2TA5
i hope someone can make a piece of software with the following functionality:
Must have:
- choose resolution (480p, 720p or 1080p)
- choose delay (1sec, 5sec, 10sec, 30 sec, 1min, 5min, 10min, 30min, 1hour)
- choose output directory of images
Would have
- Render into (H.264, WMVHD, AVCHD, XviD)
- Upload to (FTP, SMB)
Then every windows mobile phone with a 3MP camera can make HD 1080p movies. I'm dreaming of this for soo long...

Where is the HDR Video feature in the new Software Update?

I have installed the Latest XXUBMEA firmware via ODIN. The bugs are gone such as Purple Smearing issues and others. UI is now much smoother. But where is the HDR Video recording option? Tried turning on Rich Tone(HDR) and record video but it doesn't record HDR video. There is no option to turn it on either. Is the HDR Video Recording Capability is a rumor? Or is it true?

The HDR feature is in the camera settings, switch from the default snapshot mode
to the video mode then you can see the HDR option in one of the video setting.
Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that change in the changelog was wrong.
my friend has the old XXMDK build, and you can still record while choosing rich tone mode, i dont think HDR mode is there on the MEA build unless it really is on when u press record, but i cant see the difference.
There is no HDR video feature.

Guys guys! There is no HDR feature. The mode is there but it doesn't work. It is however believed that Samsung needed more time to work in HDR mode so they decided to drop it and will present it in the upcoming updates (just a speculation). Hope this helps.

[GUIDE] Fixing Insatgram/Vines video upload errors/crashes

Since i first installed Instagram i had troubles uploading videos, recorded with Insta app and loaded from gallery, with both ROMs I used ( stock Samsung and current one OmniROM )
I read this is a very common problem and no, it isnt Instagram app error but ROM fault as many Nexus5/other phones can upload videos (read in internet)
follow these steps to prepare your video:
Record your favourite video with you camera, MAX ALLOWED TIME 15s for Instagram
Instagram accepts only two sizes: 480x480 - 680x680. If it is bigger it will zoom it in center to fit it needs, so take it in account when editing video, for example i recorded a full hd video with my S3 and then i edited it to 720x720 adding black borders.
Rotate your video 90° degrees anti-clockwise (Instagram seems to rotate video on upload)
MP4 video format
time to open Instagram! :
Open Instagram app
Record about 20s of video
Press HOME button, leaving Instagram app opened in background
Go to sdcard/Android/data/com.instagram.android/files/video/random_named_folder/your_just_recorded_video.mp4 - that's the folder where Instagram save your just recorded video
Copy in this folder your video you want to upload
Rename your video with the Instagram created one and then delete Instagram video
Resume from background Instagram
Press right upper corner blue arrow and then you'll see your video in preview!!
Some side notes: On OmniROM it doesnt work, everytime Instagram crashes, so you have to use another/stock rom. I used FreeMake "Free Video Converter" to adapt my S3 full hd video to Instagram format. I first made it 15s long by selecting only part i wanted to upload. Then i created under Convert->Android label a new custom profile with: MP4 - 720x720 - Cropping style: Original - other fields default. Then i converted my video and did steps i just wrote. If you dont like Instagram video preview just play a bit with resolution/cropping way in Video Converter, i just wrote what i used
higher video bitrate will produce better quality and bigger videos, i tried with 8000 Kbps and it works, however Instagram will take more time to process your video!

At least we have a working way until rom devs fix your current rom
This tut can also be used for Vine and other phones/tablets/ROMs !!
Good guide pal but too much hassle for a 15sec video thumbs up though

Good tutorial but how about instagram/vine fix their app
Since I got the SGS3 I haven't managed to post one video on the official ROM. And it's not really time efficient to waste 10 minutes or so of editing for a 15s video.

Camera API 2 J730

Hi, I would like to activate the Camera API2 on a Samsung j730. I understand that after activation it would be possible to shoot 4k and 1080 60fps.
For activation, build.prop should be edited, and I want to do this without rooting it or making a custom recovery. I understand it is possible through adb.
The problem is that after editing build.prop and replacing it with the old one I understand that it might be bootloop and I really do not want any other problems.
Is this change possible?

I read on the internet that you have to add "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled = 1" at build.prop or change it if there is already that line from 0 in 1.
And now camera 2 api is activated.
Can I brick my phone?
When I add this in build.prop?

No, no options to change fps.

I tested camera2 API on Camera Zoom FX Premium, but this app not have video maker, this app use another camera app to record video.

Snap Cam
Camera Zoom FX Premium
Vignette
OnePlus 5
Samsung Stock Camera
Open Cam
And only Open cam have options to change video resolution, all other record video on FHD.
Many camera apps are old and not have Camera2 API.

How to Screen Record on the OPPO Find X5 Pro

Screen recording on Android devices is pretty simple. You can usually pull down the quick settings menu on any type of phone, and access your screen recording option there. With the OPPO Find X5 Pro, there are a few extra settings that allow you to get the most out of your screen recording tool. In this thread, I'll show you everything you need to know about screen recording on the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
Screen recording files are saved in the /storage/emulated/0/Pictures/Screenshots/ directory. Each file name begins with "Record" followed by the date and time of the recording.
How to Screen RecordThe OPPO Find X5 Pro has the ability to screen record without the need for any third-party apps.
Swipe down twice from the top of your phone to access the quick settings menu.
Select the Screen recording option.
Begin recording by pressing the red circle on the popup menu.
Stop or pause the recording using the red stop square or the pause icon.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Change Audio Recording SettingsWhen it comes to your audio settings, you might want to change which audio is recorded, based on the situation. For example, if you are recording a gaming video, you can record both your system sounds and your microphone audio to add your own commentary to the gameplay. You can toggle off your microphone audio for things like screen recording a video that you'd like to save to your phone.
Swipe down twice from the top of your phone to access the quick settings menu.
Select the Screen recording option.
Select the settings icon from the popup menu.
Toggle Record system sound and Record microphone sound.
More Screen Recording SettingsWithin ColorOS 12.1 there is another settings menu that lets you access even more options for your screen recorder. Access this menu by going to Settings > Special features > Screen recording. In this menu, you can change the resolution and bitrate from the default settings. Use a preset configuration or set a custom one. You can record in a max resolution of 2k, and a bitrate of 32 Mbps.
The standard mode for your frame rate is dynamic. This will adjust the recording frame rate based on the content being recorded. You can change this and set your own preferred frame rate, with a max of 60 fps.
You can also find settings for these features, in the same screen recording menu:
Show screen touches
Record front camera video
Video coding format
Now you know everything there is to know about screen recording on the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
Thanks to OPPO for supporting this thread.
