How to Screen Record on the OPPO Find X5 Pro - OPPO Find X5 Pro General

Screen recording on Android devices is pretty simple. You can usually pull down the quick settings menu on any type of phone, and access your screen recording option there. With the OPPO Find X5 Pro, there are a few extra settings that allow you to get the most out of your screen recording tool. In this thread, I'll show you everything you need to know about screen recording on the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
Screen recording files are saved in the /storage/emulated/0/Pictures/Screenshots/ directory. Each file name begins with "Record" followed by the date and time of the recording.
How to Screen RecordThe OPPO Find X5 Pro has the ability to screen record without the need for any third-party apps.
Swipe down twice from the top of your phone to access the quick settings menu.
Select the Screen recording option.
Begin recording by pressing the red circle on the popup menu.
Stop or pause the recording using the red stop square or the pause icon.

Change Audio Recording SettingsWhen it comes to your audio settings, you might want to change which audio is recorded, based on the situation. For example, if you are recording a gaming video, you can record both your system sounds and your microphone audio to add your own commentary to the gameplay. You can toggle off your microphone audio for things like screen recording a video that you'd like to save to your phone.
Swipe down twice from the top of your phone to access the quick settings menu.
Select the Screen recording option.
Select the settings icon from the popup menu.
Toggle Record system sound and Record microphone sound.
More Screen Recording SettingsWithin ColorOS 12.1 there is another settings menu that lets you access even more options for your screen recorder. Access this menu by going to Settings > Special features > Screen recording. In this menu, you can change the resolution and bitrate from the default settings. Use a preset configuration or set a custom one. You can record in a max resolution of 2k, and a bitrate of 32 Mbps.
The standard mode for your frame rate is dynamic. This will adjust the recording frame rate based on the content being recorded. You can change this and set your own preferred frame rate, with a max of 60 fps.
You can also find settings for these features, in the same screen recording menu:
Show screen touches
Record front camera video
Video coding format
Now you know everything there is to know about screen recording on the OPPO Find X5 Pro.

Honor 5x Camera Tips and Tricks
On the surface, the camera app on the Honor 5x might seem like a basic setup, but there are tons of settings, modes and filters to play around with to get the perfect shot. Check out these tips to get you started.
Video Resolution
While the 5x is capable of shooting at 1080p, by default it's set to 720p. To change this, swipe over to filming mode then press the menu button and go to settings. From there, you'll be able to bump the resolution up to 1080p.

Photo Settings
There's a lot of really important photo settings that you might have missed. They aren't accessible from your main screen, so you have to go through the settings. In the settings you'll find resolution, timer, object tracking, volume button function, image adjustment and a bunch of other features.
Ultra Snapshot
Enable Ultra Snapshot to let you launch your camera app by double pressing the volume down key. You can set this to launch your camera and also immediately take a snapshot.
Touch & Hold Shutter Button
The burst mode isn't really something I use very much. Luckily you are able to change the action that is tied to pressing and holding the shutter button. I have it set to focus instead.
If you have any other tips for using the camera, let me know in the comments. There are so many features that it can be easy to overlook some.

Detailed Guide on Honor EMUI - Basic Accessibility settings

Accessibility options are designed to make your device easier to use — while normally associated with making Android more approachable for the elderly or for helping the physically disabled, anyone can benefit from checking out some of these lesser-known settings. Let’s check out what Android has been hiding.
1. Services
1.1 Talkback: Google Talkback will give you verbal, audio, and vibration cues by acting as a built-in screen reader. It's perfect for the visually impaired.
Steps to enable feature:
- Go to settings >Accessibility .
- Select Talkback .
- Click on Talkback settings to set volume , keyboard echo , touch exploration etc.
- After you enable this feature it will give you verbal cues for each action.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Steps to disable feature:
- long press on power button then to disable this feature touch and hold the screen with fingers for more than 3 seconds
1.2 Switch Access: It allows you to configure hard buttons to perform certain tasks to enable better navigation for the visually impaired and makes a pretty powerful tool when paired up with Talkback.
Users can assign hard keys for different tasks.
2. System
2.1 Captions: Enables the system wide closed caption system for videos. It allows videos to display captions based on the parameters decided upon here, and you can change the text size and color within set parameters.
2.2 Magnification Gestures: Magnifies the entire system UI. Activate by triple-tapping on the display inside any apps on the device, pan around using a two-finger drag and zoom in/out further using pinch-to-zoom.
2.3 Power button ends call: When this setting is enabled, you can simply press your device's power button to end a call. This setting can make it faster and easier to hang up
2.4 Speak Passwords: Exactly what it says it does. Use only if you really, really need to use it and please use it with caution even then.
2.5 Accessibility shortcut: This will allow you to quickly enable accessibility features, even while the device is locked.
Step 1: press and hold the power button until you hear a sound or feel a vibration.
Step 2: Touch and hold two fingers until you hear audio confirmation
2.6 Text to Speech: This allows you to choose the text-to-speech engine of your choice, where Google's is the default. Even then you've got languages to choose from and the quality of sound you want to hear.
2.7 Touch and Hold Delays: For those with dexterity issues, how long you need to press and hold to complete actions could be an issue. This allows you to alter the duration required to three different settings.
3. Display
3.1 Color Inversion: This feature flip the entire device color scheme to the inverse. It works across the whole system UI and inside all applications.
3.2 Color Correction: There are options to change the display mode based on different types of color blindness:
Deuteranomaly (red-green)
Protanaomaly (red-green)
Tritanomaly (blue-yellow)
Screenshots taken and shared in any of these display modes will not reflect the changes you've made, so anyone else will be able to view them without any changes.
To enable or disable the abovesettings, follow these steps:
1. Go to Settings > Accessibility.
2. Select any Option you want from the above .
I hope I've sparked your interest enough to encourage you to check them out for yourself because there's some truly great stuff in there, whether you think you need it or not.

Can't record audio through stock camera app [Medium-Large]

I have a nexus 6p with android 8.1 and i have had this issue for about 6 months. I can't record any sort of audio while recording a video, this happens on stock camera, snapchat camera, Instagram camera, WhatsApp, messenger, etc. It is important to note that I CAN make calls and Video Calls in Messenger and WhatsApp, I can use google assistant (It detects when I say "Okay Google"), record voice notes in WhatsApp/messenger. It just doesn't record audio on video (Actually it does kind of record a "Shhhhhhhh" audio).
I've been investigating this and i have not found any solution. But i know there is one, since with this app called "Open Camera" I can choose which microphone use while recording videos and in the app configuration, in "audio source" the default option selected is Camcorder and with that option, I recorded a video and it had no sound, then I changed it to "External mic (if detected)" and after recording a video I discovered that it DOES record audio! So there's definitely a microphone that can be used while recording a video.

While I was searching a solution for this, I found in somewhat old (2016) Nexus Help forum, a thread of people with the same problem, and someone gave a weird solution that required a rooted device (Mine is rooted), but I don't really know if its viable since I have tried it and it just makes my phone stop recording ANY sort of audio (including calls and everything it was working) and stop reproducing ANY sort of audio, problem that I solved simply with a system backup that I did before in TWRP.
Screenshot of the Nexus Help Forum and the solution I saw.

So I was wondering if any of you have experienced this problem or if someone have found a solution to this, it would be even better if someone actually have tried the rooted solution! Thank you.
P.S.:
Take a shot any time I mention "Record", "Recording".
Take two shots any time i write something in Capital letters.

First things to do with your OPPO Find X5 Pro

Setting up a new phone is an exciting process. There is so much to learn about your new device and a bunch of new features to explore. If you're here in this forum, it might be because you have just purchased an OPPO Find X5 Pro and you're looking for things to do with it. In this thread I'll show you everything you need to do to get started with your new phone.
Change Home screen ModeIf you're coming from another Android phone, you might be used to the classic app drawer style home screen. By default, the OPPO Find X5 Pro has the app drawer disabled, which puts all of your app icons on the home screens. You can change this to the drawer mode in the settings menu if it's what you prefer.
To enable Drawer mode, go to:
Settings > Home screen & Lock screen > Home screen mode
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
From here, you'll be able to choose which Home screen mode you'd like to enable.
Lock Your Private AppsLocking your sensitive apps is always a high-priority feature for most users. You can set a passcode on any apps that contain sensitive information. This usually includes messaging, email, and social apps. Doing this on the OPPO Find X5 Pro is simple.
To enable App lock, go to:
Settings > Privacy > App lock
Now you'll set up the app lock system and assign a passcode as well as recovery settings. If you're in an environment where you don't need to use app lock, you can easily toggle it on and off in the quick settings menu.
Check for UpdatesYour phone might already have updates available as you're first setting it up. After you've gone through all of your account logins and app downloads, you can check to see if you have any system updates. System updates can include important security fixes and exciting new features.
To check for new updates, go to:
Settings > About device > check for updates
If a new system update is available, you can begin downloading it and install it at a convenient time.
Change your Camera SettingsBy default, your camera settings are optimized for efficiency, rather than quality. This means that 50MP photos, 10-bit color, RAW images, and 4k 60fps video are not enabled right away. If you want to get the highest quality photos and video possible, you can turn these features on in the camera settings.
To enable 50MP photos, go to:
Camera app > PHOTO > 50MP (top right)
To enable 10-bit color, go to:
Camera app > menu > settings > 10-bit color
To enable 4K 60fps, go to:
Camera app > VIDEO > RESOLUTION > 4K
Camera app > VIDEO > menu > Frame rate > 60 FPS
To enable RAW images, go to:
Camera app > PRO > menu > Format > RAW/RAW PLUS
The powerful editing tools included in ColorOS make editing these large files easy. Compatibility is not an issue, and you won't need to download any third-party software to get the most out of your edits.
Did I miss anything? Leave a comment letting us know what you recommend to new OPPO Find X5 Pro users!

Do you always have to enable 4K everytime you record a video? Or is this setting going to be the default? what about the file size comparison vs a normal video?

Once the settings are changed to 4k 60fps, they will stay that way. I have 30 second clips that are about 260MB in size. I will try a direct comparison to see the difference in 1080 vs 4k file size at some point.

How to Shoot and Edit in LOG on the OPPO Find X5 Pro

The video capabilities on the OPPO Find X5 Pro are some of the most impressive that we have seen from this series so far. While you're able to shoot brilliant 4K footage with ease, OPPO included a feature for more advanced videographers that will give you more control over the way your footage looks. In the different filming modes available, you'll find the MOVIE option. This mode enabled several different features, but videographers will probably be most excited about the ability to shoot in LOG.
LOG is a filming profile that gives you a greater dynamic range and freedom in post-processing. While shooting your footage you might think that the video looks washed out or a little grey. That is because this footage is meant to be edited using professional software. You'll be able to tweak the color to look exactly how you want. This is the process that all movie footage goes through, in big productions.
Ho to Film in LOG on the OPPO Find X5 ProTo access this great feature, follow these steps:
Open your camera app
Go to MOVIE mode
Toggle LOG on the left menu
When shooting in LOG, all of your manual controls will still be accessible.

Hot to Edit Footage Shot in LOGNow that you have your footage, you'll want to use a professional editing app that will let you adjust the colors of your shot. Avoid using premade filters that tend to be included with smartphone editing software. Instead, try something like Adobe Premiere Rush: Video. Try using LUTs if you're a beginner at color grading, then tweak the look of the video from there.
LOG offers creators more control over their style and the overall result of their video. The addition of this feature to the OPPO Find X5 Pro is fantastic, and you should definitely try it out.
