[Q] Is the metal surrounding the screen flush or sticking up around your MT4G? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a black MT4G and I've noticed the metal that surrounds the front glass isn't flush all the way around the phone.
If I slide my finger off the screen to the right side, it slides right off and it looks like the glass is flush or slightly higher than the metal.
If I slide to the left slide, I hit the metal which is sticking up a bit from the screen.
Visually it's hard to notice, but I feel it every time I swipe to different home screens.
Anyone else notice this? Is your phone flush all around or is the metal slightly raised all around?

mine is the exact same as yours...I noticed when I first got it, but im not going to take my phone and a micrometer back to the store for a replacement.

Requesting Video Of Removing Screen Protector

It would be great if anyone could film themselves removing the stock screen protector because even after reading the threads I am still confused... Is the protector the really thin thing that seems to cover the screen or the thick hard glass-looking plastic on it?...
I took about 10 minutes to remove my stock screen protector and to me that's a really long time but it's not that hard. If you look in the corners of your X10, you should see it, its really thin but it doesn't cover the whole screen. Use a magnifying glass if you need to but I don't think it's really that hard. When you see it, try wedge a corner of the stock screen protector with a thin plastic like a guitar pick or credit card, no metals obviously. It takes a while but you'll see that the screen protector will fold a bit then start peeling from there. It's really not that hard, just needs patience and time.
if u look at the corners of the screen u cld see a small obvious space between the edges of the stock screen protector and the edges of the x10's face area thingy, i used my nail on the edges and after about a minute it started to peal off, but i dont recomend removing it its very usefull no matter how scratched up it gets(itl still protect the screen)
Yea I lifted a corner up. I will probably peel the whole thing when I get my clear-coat

samsung vibrant bezel came off

So I dropped my vibrant and the bezel on the left side came off and there is a large bump in the bezel now. I think the plastic tips on the bezel that hold it to the screen broke off. Any tips? How much would this cost to repair?
PS: Superglue will not work as the bezel will simply not touch the screen at all.

new bezel, new full housing. it is for a i9000 not a vibrant but considering they are identical internally i believe it would fit just fine.
Can't tell from your description, but it may be that one of the clips that holds the bezel down has popped out (but not broken) and is bottomed-out on the plastic surface adjacent to where these clips feed through.
I noticed that this can happen the last time I tore mine apart.
If this is the case, you can pop it back in by removing the back cover screws and sliding the back cover off with a guitar pick, etc (there are lots of teardown videos on YouTube). Once that's off you should be able to see the clips and determine if it's just popped out or busted off.

Really weird Screen/Glass problem

OK, so i just noticed something really weird on the screen of my Nexus S. Towards the bottom of the screen, right under those 4 touch buttons where the glass meets the housing, i see these grey stains. The stains are on the inside and i feel like it's the glue that was used to install/paste the glass. I think those grey stains on the inside are all around the glass but i can only see them on the top and bottom.
Anyone noticed something similar?
Any suggestions?

The glass is thicker at the top and bottom. I think that is what you're seeing. I just looked at mine in the light, and to me, it just looks like the edge of the glass. Just the nature of the curved glass imo.
I had a bit of glue around the edges of my screen. I just stuck some Scotch tape around the edges to pull it off.
i took my phone back to best buy. the guy there told me that this is a pretty common problem not only with nexus s but evo 4g also. he let me check about 6 devices (not exagerating) before making an exchange and i was quite surprised to see all those screens with some sort of defect around the top and the bottom. i picked the one that looked the best and went home satisfied.

Wobbly screen on DVP

I've noticed lately that my DVP screen is a bit wobbly when I press it when the screen is closed. Today, with the screen slid up, I noticed there is only 1 rubber pad on the top right on the back of the screen. It looks like there should be a second pad on the top left, but instead there's an exposed screw.
Anyone else have this? Debating if it's worth exchanging for that or if I can fix it myself.
i don't think the screw cover has anything to do with stabilizing the screen when its closed. mine is flush with the surface of the rear of the screen and isn't rubbery at all, it is just a screw cover sticker.

Are both screws covered on yours? There is clearly a gap on mine when the screen is closed on the side that's missing the cover, but maybe that's just coincidence.
yep, both screws are covered and there isn't any kind of gap. looks like something is off in your sliding mechanism.
Mine has a little bit of play but not enough to notice.
I have had a slide up keyboard phone before, over time they all get a little loose. If it is bothering you now may as well exchange while you can. I have had my DVP for 3 weeks and it has almost no wiggle.

Inner metal bezel scratched and huge gap

I just got my note 4 from t-mobile shipped yesterday oct 13. The pictures shows it all. Not only do i have a gap that is only at the top and right side of the phone (which i can live with), the top right hand corner shows that the inner bezel scratched possible from applying that screen. I can live with the gap but not those scratches as the white phone bezel make it more noticeable. Sucks to get the runt of the new note 4s...
i wouldn't call that a "huge" gap, you can probably just slip a piece of paper in, but not anything thicker, same info posted by androidauthority and unbox therapy. how did you scratch it with a SP anyway? glass SP?
It just seems like the paint that used on the metal came off in those spots. As for the gap, it's no bigger than any other note 4, but I do agree that dust and other particles will get stuck in there over time.
same small gap on my phone but then it disappeared after i put on a case. Even without the case it doesn't really bother me that much because i didn't even notice it
You can scratch it if your removing bubbles
I don't think you have a gap issue at all. I'd be a ticked about the scratches though.
Those aren't scratches. Those are the antennas

trust me those are scratches from the paint peeling off the metal. Probably for poor installation.
This phone also had very loose volume rocker buttons.
Also the gap is way bigger than any of the 4 phones that shipped. ( had a total of 6 so...)
Ended up returning this one and one with a dead pixel/dust ball under the screen.
Got my two replacements from t-mobile. all is good.
Oh my bad. I was looking at the last picture you uploaded where it shows the cut out at the top left of the phone
