Problem with step2.cmd

I've finally getting around to rooting my x10a, but I'm having a problem with step2.cmd. It echos it's schpeel that select option 6 or whatever, without any error (except for the normal "device not found"). I know that it's supposed to come up with a screen that you should select the 6th option on, but it's not showing up!
If anyone is wondering I do have USB debugging on and I have installed all the drivers.
EDIT: I did include the deviceid txt files inside both of the folders.
Actually, "device not found" is NOT normal. It shouldn't say that if it's working properly.
Steps 2 and 3 (and 5 for X10a) use ADB. There are a few things to check (I'll list everything I can think of, including ones you may have already done):
1. ADB doesn't require DeviceID.txt (it's for X10Flash), so it's not that.
2. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on the phone (under Settings > Applications > Development).
3. Unplug the USB cable and plug it back in. On the phone, the notification bar should show "USB debugging enabled".
4. Make sure that the SD card is NOT mounted to your PC. The notification should show "USB connected", NOT "Turn off USB". If it does say "Turn off USB", then click it to turn it off.
5. In Windows, double-click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray. There should be a device called "adb01 ADB Interface Driver". Don't remove it, just make sure it's there. Hit Cancel/Close.
6. Open Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and look for a process called "adb.exe". Click it and hit "End Process". Next time you start adb, it should load up the daemon again.
7. Have you tried rebooting your PC? How about your phone?
8. ADB connects using TCP. If you have a software firewall (e.g. ZoneAlarm, Eset Smart Security, etc.), it may be blocking access. Either make an exception, or just disable the firewall for now (don't forget to turn it back on later). No, a router doesn't count (the phone is connected through USB, not your network).
9. There may be a problem with your Sony USB drivers. Uninstall Update Service and PC Companion (if you have them), reinstall them, and then plug in your phone again so that the drivers are reinstalled. I had to do this to fix a different problem (that second USB Mass Storage device kept connecting and disconnecting).
Did you allow unknown sources?

I've done everything but that, which is not there, what should I do about that?
You know what, the laptop I'm using right now really sucks in the spec department, so it might just be that. Is there anyway to reflash it to rogers x10a?
is your laptop using vista 64? If it is follow this post to fix it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713457
to get through step2, i had to install sony ericsson pc companion, it has the drivers which step2 depends on

Nexus 4 not showing up in my computer as MTP Storage

Hi Guiz, So you all probably have heard this a million times but i have tried every i can to fix this. I have tried many options such as Deleting and re-installing the drivers, trying a different usb port 2.0 and 3.0 I have restored my phone. And my phone only comes up as PTP Camera which is useless since i cant root my N4. This problem occured after i updated to Android 4.3. So my question is how can i make my N4 show up as MTP Storage?
I'm running on Windows 8. Thanks in advance.

1 quick Forum search would easily have solved this for you.
But since you're here:
1. Enable USB debugging: Go to phone settings -> About -> Tap build number repeatedly until developer menu is enabled. Go there and tick USB debugging.
2. On your PC, go to your device manager (when the Phone is plugged in and set to MTP), locate the phone, right click on it -> properties
3. go to the Driver tab
4. click Update Driver
5. click Browse my Computer for driver software
6. click Let my pick...
7. select USB Composite Device
8. finish up with the assistant
9. be happy

Today i've got my new Nexus 4, succesfully unlocked & rooted with this toolkit, but had problems with installing google usb drivers and Universal Adb Driver.
The solution is based on several steps.
I solved my problem this way, hope it will help someone
I have windows 8.1 64-bit, so i had to solve firts the problem with driver signature
1.
How To Disable And Bypass Driver Signature Enforcement In Windows 8
Tutorial link
Tutorial video
If you have problems with driver installations, try this:
2.
Remove hidden existing Nexus 4 or Android Nexus ADB Interface in Device Manager
i had to cleanup the drivers remained after few failed adb driver installations because of the problem in the first step
- (OPTIONAL) Install Nexus Root Toolkit and run it
- (OPTIONAL) click on Full Driver Installation Guide and at step 1
- open Device Manager, click View and select the option Show hidden devices
- now you will see some additional hidden devices (greyed out)
- because i wanted to install the drivers from start i deleted them, that means uninstalled them and added checkmark for deleting local files
- screenshot is attached so you can better understand
Remove the devices that could make problems
3.
- Run Nexus Root Toolkit
- click on Full Driver Installation Guide
- at Step 1 open USBDeview
- in my situation i deleted all the entries with google name
- screenshot in the attach
Final step:
4.
Install drivers for Nexus 4
- Run Nexus Root Toolkit
- click on Full Driver Installation Guide
- at Step 2 i installed Solution #1 - Universal drivers
- maybe you'll need to manually add drivers, if you have an entry in Device Manager that as yellow !
- right click on it - update drivers - browse my computer for drivers - I've added the path to installed Solution #1 - Universal drivers
"C:\Program Files (x86)\ClockworkMod\Universal Adb Driver"
- i repeated it for connection as mtp, ptp and none of that - selection for this is made on nexus: settings - storage - ... in the right upper corner - usb computer connection. so this way the device had installed the needed drivers
- screenshot is added in attach
I've used Wugs Toolkit for installing drivers and after that unlocking and rooting the Nexus 4.
My problem was that there was present HIDDEN ADB Interface under Android Device, after above mentioned steps, my nexus is working properly when connected as MTP device

Internal storage does not show when I connect phone to computer

I have the Motorola drivers already installed and USB debugging ON. But when I connect the phone to the computer the internal storage does not show on the computer. I have to go back to the Developer Options switch the USB config from MTP to PTP and back to MTP to see the internal storage. Just an annoying extra step.
Is there a permanent fix to this? The phone is rooted.
ROM?
Your settings in Developer Options are not relevant. When you connect it to the PC, pull down the notification shade and find the entry that says USB Charging and tap it, then select MTP mode, it should appear in My Computer after that if it doesn't open automatically.
