I would have loved to contribute if I hadn't already made ONE MILLION different registry tweaks on this stock build.
Although, I'm picking up a second HD2 later this week... if and when shipment comes in, so if by then you don't have the standardized system dump, I'll gladly provide it for you.

What tweaks did you make? If it's all legal tweaks, wouldn't be a problem tho...

Dumping the ROM will not effect your registry changes. You are just dumping raw data image that we can use to recreate the ROM. Which will benefit everyone.
Just need the OS, Radio can be added from the other sources...
I have two, but the one I opened isn't working. Haven't decided if I want to try the second one yet.
Update: Removing the SIM card has the phone working fine.
Update2: 2nd phone works perfectly fine. Going to try 2nd SIM in 1st phone.
Update3: Identified as damaged SIM socket. Fail on T-Mobile.

I tried to dump a stock rom, my wife's phone, but after more than 2 hours she wanted to use the phone. I'll start it again tonight. It appeared to be running still but I didn't expect it to take that long.

Got it when released, then they took it down... As for the dump, slow going. Reset twice, but hope to have it done in the morning. Files are done, modules almost done... Just taking a long, long, long time...

I've been running .0. The OS, Sense, and other major aspects of the ROM are *exactly* the same as .1.

Failed again in the S's in Modules... Rerunning,,, but this takes a long, long, long time
I have a .1 ROM on my phone. TMOUS etc. I'd like to make a dump of the ROM and the Radio. I have no idea how to start though.
I have a purely unaltered stock rom. I installed stuff here and there but I did a hard reset to restore it back to factory condition. I pm you, but please don't post someones' altered rom as stock. I like to know that I can restore my unit to purely stock. -thx

Yes.
Installs just fine on phone with hardspl and custom rom -- I've done it.

Thanks for the link. It worked fine for me, and didn't take very long. 6.5 uses a lot more memory than did 6.1, but no problems.

hmm, I thought 6.5 would take a windows 7 effect giving you more features with less required resources...I cant wait for the official to come out for Sprint...

The differences between WM6.1 and WM6.5 are worthwhile, in my opinion...but better resource utilization isn't one of the benefits.
Disclaimer: My opinion of "worthwhile" may be different than others...but I can't imagine anyone preferring 6.1 over 6.5 unless minimum resource-utilization is their primary criterion.

Possibley an ignorant question but this is my first window mobile device. Despite searching there is just too much info for me to figure it out on my own.
Is this a good version of WM 6.5 to update my UNLOCKED Touch Pro 2 with or will it re-lock my phone to T-mobile? I am in Canada am currently on the Fido network.
Also I am running WM 6.1 currently and have never upgraded a phone before.
I appreciate everyone's helpful advice.

If you got a serial number, you probably are covered. But you might want to contact vendor first to make sure.

I haven't had a problem so far (with many different roms flashed). The paid-for apps accept the same "key" or serial number as I've used before.
Of course...that doesn't mean that all apps-companies are as nice....so yeah, might want to check first.

T-Mo US: Yes.
Same as leaked version (from 7-Jan)?: IDK. Some insist "yes"...which seems likely, but I don't know if that's been proven. I think they appear to be the same.
just curious. I have sprint. What happens if I use this?
Hi everyone,
is there a way to backup my current ROM? I'm new in the Omnia and I wanted to have a backup of my ROM for two reasons:
1) Safe measure in case anything goes wrong with new ROMs
2) My phone comes with a one year warranty but of course they will check if some one ( ) messed up the ROM before fixing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
The stock ROM is available for download from Verizon, I have a copy of it available to i will put on my server later. It is the same as the factory shipped Verizon one. There is a tool available to dump the ROM from the phone but kind of a waste of time IMO as its the same as we all have.

I'm a member here since a long time, I had a HTC Wizard (MDA Vario 1) before, then omnia 1 and now Omnia 2, but just saw @Modaco that there's an Omnia 2 section here which I didn't know it excisted, and I just changed my avatar here

If you only flash the PDA nb0 portion of the ROM, you wont risk messing up your csc or phone part. Someone else might have more info, but from what ive heard you can dump the whole ROM, but not use it as a backup. have to do some more reading on that.

I'm not worried about bricking my Eris, as I don't even use it anymore. So I'll attempt to flash this as soon as it's done downloading from that crappy, slow host.

if you want to test put it on your sd card in your phone then place the card back in your phone and boot it up by holding power and call, pretty easy from there
no you hold volume down and power when booting after putting the zip in the root of your sd card
hboot will show up white with green text
let it run, tell it to install, follow the steps done.

Needs to be in the root directory of your sdcard, i.e. /sdcard/ROMNAME.zip

seems to be real...... just cannot get it to flash
I had asked the question about a stock 2.13 T-mobile Rom with sound drivers from 2.10 so that Android would not have the robotic sound, but the thread seams to have disappeared. Any idea why? Seems like an innocent enough question. Anyway I was able to cook a 2.10 ROM to my liking, but I would still like to know how to switch those drivers since 2.13 was a little more stable and faster on my HD2. Thanks for the help

Becareful with just swapping over those files in that post. I tried it last night everything worked well, except for data. At one point I thought the phone was bricked. Had to flash stock rom from sd card to get everything back to normal. Might want to check with some of the chefs for any further details of how to get this done on a stock rom.

Thanks for the warning. I have flashed the latest stock that just came out yesterday 3.14 and it seems very good and works with mattc v1.8. So i'll probably just cook out the bloat and use that. Thanks for the help.

Have you flashed your HD2 with this ROM yet? Are there any dead links in the start menu? Does everything work?
It worked. I just installed it. I haven't noticed anything not work yet.

This is the official rom for the tmous hd2. The rom that was leaked early was still in the early
stages. If u install this version u get a new radio. The earlier build was 2.14, this one comes with 2.15 radio. From what i can tell this version is alot more stable faster than the one that was leaked earlier. The reason there are these updates is to address issues that users experience. So if u wanna give it a try id recommend it.
Why would there be dead links in the Start menu? This is an official carrier ROM update...and I can myself confirm again that this is the real deal.
I've tried radio 2.15 and went back to 2.14. Loss of signal was very often.

What does the MR mean ie "T-Mobile HTC HD2 MR" on the original update page the MR wasnt there .
does this update your location in the weather panel? I installed the leaked rom, which isn't.

this has nothing to do with the ROM its with the tower within your area. try switching to EDGE instead of 3G and see if it updates for you.

updated to official 3.14 ROM
I just updated my HD2 to the official ROM 3.14, so far I have not seen any slow downs loaded all of my cabs and messages from back up and it just zings. Will report back if I found any bugs. Cheers!

I have yet to be able to find updates on the HTC website by scouting on there on my own.
Do they have a specific section for it because they don't even show the 2.13 update under the Tmo-HD2.
This is live on the TMO website now under wmupgrade.
I am still using stock rom (2.13) on my TMOUS HD2. I have not done hard-spl yet. Soon I'll like to do hard-SPL so that I can download custom ROMs/Radios.
Would it be possible to hard-spl even after updating my phone with the official 3.14 ROM? or should I hard-spl it first and then install this rom?
