I'm not worried about bricking my Eris, as I don't even use it anymore. So I'll attempt to flash this as soon as it's done downloading from that crappy, slow host.

if you want to test put it on your sd card in your phone then place the card back in your phone and boot it up by holding power and call, pretty easy from there
no you hold volume down and power when booting after putting the zip in the root of your sd card
hboot will show up white with green text
let it run, tell it to install, follow the steps done.

Needs to be in the root directory of your sdcard, i.e. /sdcard/ROMNAME.zip

I would have loved to contribute if I hadn't already made ONE MILLION different registry tweaks on this stock build.
Although, I'm picking up a second HD2 later this week... if and when shipment comes in, so if by then you don't have the standardized system dump, I'll gladly provide it for you.

What tweaks did you make? If it's all legal tweaks, wouldn't be a problem tho...

Dumping the ROM will not effect your registry changes. You are just dumping raw data image that we can use to recreate the ROM. Which will benefit everyone.
Just need the OS, Radio can be added from the other sources...
I have two, but the one I opened isn't working. Haven't decided if I want to try the second one yet.
Update: Removing the SIM card has the phone working fine.
Update2: 2nd phone works perfectly fine. Going to try 2nd SIM in 1st phone.
Update3: Identified as damaged SIM socket. Fail on T-Mobile.

I tried to dump a stock rom, my wife's phone, but after more than 2 hours she wanted to use the phone. I'll start it again tonight. It appeared to be running still but I didn't expect it to take that long.

Got it when released, then they took it down... As for the dump, slow going. Reset twice, but hope to have it done in the morning. Files are done, modules almost done... Just taking a long, long, long time...

I've been running .0. The OS, Sense, and other major aspects of the ROM are *exactly* the same as .1.

Failed again in the S's in Modules... Rerunning,,, but this takes a long, long, long time
I have a .1 ROM on my phone. TMOUS etc. I'd like to make a dump of the ROM and the Radio. I have no idea how to start though.
I have a purely unaltered stock rom. I installed stuff here and there but I did a hard reset to restore it back to factory condition. I pm you, but please don't post someones' altered rom as stock. I like to know that I can restore my unit to purely stock. -thx

Not unless you did a nand backup.
yeah just boot to recovery and do a Nandroid restore of the back up you made. Assuming you did this like every ROM thread warns you to.

really man you should read up on this stuff, go to the DamageControl thread and read about it. do a search and see what other people have said about it. 99% of the roms YOU are going to be dealing with are the same exact thing with minor preference variations.

Because you have your Contacts set as Google and not phone, and you back up your apps with Titanium Backup.
Before you ask how to do either of those things, read the little book that came with your phone. It will tell you how to backup your contacts to Google.
Search the Hero forums for what Titanium backup is, and how to use it.

there are very few people who will hold your hand and walk you through these very easy to follow steps. READING about what is included in a rom, which i will tell you is ALWAYS on the first page of said rom's thread will tell you everything about that rom that you need or want to know. There are places to look up all the answers to your questions. here is a good place to start...

Ok I'm a noob Hero owner so I'll attempt an answer.
When you turned on your phone for the very first time, after you got over the shock of how cool and awesome it was, I assume you either signed in with or created a google account.
Now after you flash a new ROM especially one that requires a factory wipe of all data, you will have to do that again. Your contacts and email and calendar will all resync to your phone courtesy of the fine folks at google.
As for the apps. Titanium backup seems to be the way to go no muss no fuss.

Your phone has this already (out of the box) and yes it will wipe everything from your phone.
Thanks! this let me restore everything back to stock and put s-on back. I had to exchange the thunder due to the backlight bleeding through the black paint around the bottons.
My Tbolt has this same issue and I'd like to exchange. Did Verizon give you any hassle when exchanging it? I'm rooted and will need to flash back to stock as soon as I can DL this file...

Yes they did. Said it existed on all of the new TB's they've sold and would not exchange the phone for that reason. It's not really that bad but in the dark, it's annoying.

Hey, I'm new to XDA, but I have been searching through the threads to find a way to unbrick my note 4. I have a T-mobile note 4 that I rooted and one day I was on it and it all of a sudden went into boot loop, this happened once before and all I had to do was take the battery out and turned it on and it was fine. The second time it got stuck in boot loop. I have followed a lot of videos on youtube and have tried a lot of things people have said to get out of boot loop. I downloaded odin and got the software specific to my note 4 and put the device in download mode and when I start odin and get it all set up it fails right after. So I wanted to ask for any help specific to my device. My note 4 has Team win recovery and when I go in there is nothing there. Its like everything has been wiped clean. I have tried to reinstall note 4 software multiple times and made sure I have all the drivers. I have a iPhone 7 plus(going to switch back to android) and the note 4 has been sitting in my room for a few months now and I would like to unbrick it so I can use it or do something with it. I know what I have said so far may not be useful, please leave a reply and I will give any other details that you may need. Please help me out, trying to fix the phone and so far have been out of luck. Also I am not the most tech savy when it comes to tech....Thank you to those of you that decide to help out, it will mean a lot

I think the problem is that I have team win recovery and have no idea how to get rid of that. I hope someone can chime in. Other wise the note 4 will just still in the corner. Honestly don't have a use for it, but I have a anker external battery for it and the phone will last two days easy. If I fix it ill probably swap sims and use that. Let me know if you find a way to fix the issue... good luck man....!

I'm glad you have your phone working, however it troubles me that you asked for help publicly but will post your fix privately. XDA works as a forum because of everybody sharing. Just keep in mind that someone else could benefit from your fix (or find) without having to contact you. All they have to do is say it worked for them or not and thank you for sharing.

I wasn't asking for him to send me a private message or anything. I just wanted to know if he got it fixed or not before I spent my time writing all the steps out. I didn't feel the need to write out a really long response if he already got his phone fixed. He was the only other person that had the same problem as me. I'll gladly right out all the steps once I get home and get the time.

I think you're missing my point and the purpose of XDA. He's the only one that responded, but they could be 5 more. Your fix may help someone else tomorrow or a month from now. It will be nice in the spirit of sharing (XDA) once you find a fix to post it in case someone else needs it. I personally benefited from the one below and I was about to post it as possible fix. as soon as it comes on it comes up with some writing on the top left. then says sectors and some numbers then restarts. also it only comes on if i formatted card and used the img and wrote it to the 32gb sd card. otherwise phone wont even respond.

Okay, so the first thing I did was download the latest version of odin. The problem with my phone was that I accidently completely wiped the phone and the only thing I had on it was TWRP (Team win recovery) and I tried to install the firmware from Sam mobile but for some reason it kept failing. Thats when I finally decided to download some other rom and the link is https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...rom-hyperdrive-n4-rls-otatweaks-lock-t2919441 after downloading that put it in the AP spot and click the box and press start and it should work. If not let me know.... Sorry to get back so late I've been super busy, if you have any questions let me know
