(I'm not allowed to post urls linking outside the forum, so replare _dot_ with '.').
Or create your own ringtones by cutting pieces of your favorite MP3s. You can use, for instance, Audacity to do that.

I don't like them very much...
I think that they are a bit prosy....
I use a song, called "Tick Tick Boom" by The Hives....
you can use literally any mp3 (and other formats) of your choice as a ring tone (btw, nice choice on the Hives.) you must put your audio file one folder away from root, meaning the path has to be something like
/Storage Card/*.mp3
/Program Files/*.mp3
/My Documents/*.mp3
etc etc

For message I put the ringtones into /windows, and these are .wav files...
for other ringtones into windows/rings
I made some ringtones

Hello,
actually is the first time i post on XDA no matter i read many useful and helpful threads on it.
I own an unbranded HTC TYTN II - just meets all my needs for businnes and fun.
Some day ago i decided to personalyze some way the ringtones.
Watching here and there i found a very nice tool - RINGO MOBILE - wich allow to setup ringtones by playing every Mp3/Wma/Wav stored in the phone or Storage Card.
You can personalize call ringtones as well as Sms Notifications, for each group, each contacts...
It works great untill now BUT i found an annoying BUG.
When i receive a call I cant silence anymore the audio notification just by scrolling the jog wheel.
Too bad because that program have great feautures in terms of FULL ringtones groups&contacts personalizations.
If someone got the same issue or have some valid alternative (i tried also Mortring but doesnt work well as Ringo Mobile does) pls feel free to IM me or make this thread do not die at the beginning.

actually the audio manager does is allow u to make ringtones from mp3....i hve not used this program but if it does what he says(which im sure it does lol) it goes way beyond htc audio manager....

I agree with you that HTC Audio Manager sets MP3 as ringtones and trim them up...
But i didnt see any option that allows you to set mp3 as SMS Notification, or set them per groups and contacts. HTC Audio Manager doesnt personalize ringtones.
Whatever, if someone v got the same bug or a better alternative pls post it here.

A good site for G1 wallpapers
I was wondering if anyone knew a good site for G1 wallpapers? I know a couple of sites where they have wallpapers for phones but when I put them on my memory card and put them as my background I always have to crop them and they don't come out looking as clear as the wallpapers that came with the phone so I was wondering if maybe I'm doing something wrong or is there a site where i can find wallpapers in the exact resolution that's neede so I don't have to crop them.

thanks for the sites, but it still don't look as clear as the wallpapers that come with the phone,i'ma try going on the sites through my phone and saving them to see if that makes a difference instead of saving the pics to my computer and then adding them tom my sd card

The standard wallpapers on the G1 are 640x480, 72x72ppi jpeg images. I pulled them out and looked at them on the computer to figure out just why they look so decent and some I've made just don't cut it on the phone. It's a mystery so far.
I make my own ringtones with Adobe Audition and my mp3 and wav file collections.

Myxer - Has stuff for the G1? They need to make more sites dedicated to the G1

I have been getting wallpapers from http://www.talkandroid.com/wallpapers/ They are usually the right size for the phone and the site is easily browsable using the G1 browser so you can download them straight to the phone, but I don't think they have ringtones, etc.
For Wallpapers:

Sexy T-Mobile G1 Wallpapers
or
Search on Google for 640 x 480 Images
Also make sure you use Wallpaper Set & Save so the wallpapers won't look blurry.

When i downloaded one of the ringtones packages before i noticed some were missing from what i had had originally on my Xperia so i uploaded them all:
I used Vodafone R3A to get all of these

These aren't the default tones for a UK Vodafone Magic ... does anyone have those ones? One of them was called moonbeam ... can't remember any others though!

just find the appropriate ROM, unzip it on your pc, go to system/media/ringtones, and move all the ringtones that you want to your sd card and android will pick them up in your menu options
Nice - done it and found them - I've uploaded them here in case anyone else wants them.
