Unfortunately i cannot miss my TP, since it's a company phone, but if there is anyone else interested i'd be glad, because i'm really looking forward buying an Invisible shield to protect my precious TP.
So anyone who can miss their TP => apply now! When asking permission if i could post this email here in the forum, he also mentioned that the more inquiries they got the more likely they would introduce it. So mail them!
I got the same response and it's great but I'm not shipping my TP from the Netherlands to the USA since it would take ages for me to get it back and cost more than wait and purchase an Invisible shield for my TP when it becomes available.

Amen, and I know they are a trustworthy company but I don't trust the shipping services to get it back to me lol.

I also popped them a mail a few days ago about a full body suit for the TP and they didn't come back to me at all.
I think I will also pass sending the phone to the US though... Might be better if somebody a bit closer takes that up with them.
Why don't they buy one anyway? Or request a sample device from HTC to build the shield on? shouldn't be that hard for them...
Do hope to find something like their full body protection in the near future. not so very happy with the default 'protection-tube' from HTC

Well if they still have the offer next month when they release the HTC Touch Pro here in the US for the Sprint network, I'll consider sending my unit in. I'm trying to hold out and get the Touch Pro, however the Diamond is awefully inviting (since it's available today).

yeah, eventually I made another request on the website to get a TP full body shield and now they did reply. With the standard msg though. "send us your TP and we'll make one for you free of charge blablabla..."

I don't know about you guys in the rest of the world, but here in australia the stores have a dummy phone, which is actually the case (Housing) on the model on display, I'm sure that if the shield company contacts HTC they would be able to purchase one of these for a fee and then use it to make the shields...

Don't even bother with Invisible Shield. I've used them before. They're anything but invisible, often not cut to the right size and shape, and have a horrible spongy feel, that is horrible for stylus use.
And even with their discounts, overpriced. only thing I like is their wet install method, very forgiving and plenty of time to do it. No need for the nekkid in the steamy bathroom poor man's clean room install method.

There was actually a screenshield in the box when I picked up my Touch Pro. It's pretty crappy (I've already creased it by sliding it in the case), but it could tide one over until the 3rd party shields are sorted out.
Agreed. Now I've finally got it, there's no way I'm letting it out of my sight, especially to send through the mail to some company I've never heard of just so they can take measurements for a screen protector. Don't they realise that if they asked HTC for measurements - or better still, just went out and bought their own device! - they'd be able to produce a cover in a matter of minutes?
I myself have this cover on mine, with the standard screen protector supplied in the retail box from HTC applied as well.

I have a Nexus One I'm will to let go of for 400 or best offer. The only reason is so that I can get the Rogers/AT&T version. The phone is still in great condition, not a scratch on the screen. However there is a nick on the bottom left corner of the case and a slight bit of pocket wear on the top left.
I might even let it go cheaper if persuaded. I'll ship it anywhere with no extra cost to you which means for those of you that it's not available for you've got a great deal ;-)

So I dropped my iconia today. On tile. On its corner.
The glass cracked. It still works just fine, in fact, the glass covering the screen is still fine, its just bezel-glass that broke.
While I CAN live with it like this, I would really rather not. Its right where my thumb normally rests, and its really sharp. Plus its damn embarrassing.
I want a new phone and I need a new laptop for college this fall, I don't have the money (or really, the desire - its my best-performing device) to replace my tab.
So, is there any way I could get Acer to fix this?
I'm sure I'm out of warranty, its a refurbished sale item from best buy online, purchased around Thanksgiving.
How would I figuure out if I have any warranty left?
Barring that, could I pay Acer to repair my tab or do some sort of replacement?
If that's no, is there any way I could replace the glass myself?

I saw a few on Ebay, but the one that I would get is probably this one... I like it best because it is a full assembly, and it is already here in the U.S. $122 shipped. Add warranty for another 12 bucks.
Anytime I replace anything like this I will pay a little more to get an easier install. You can get others for $89 bucks and up. They are in China and the wait may be quite long. And they don't have as much pre-assembled for you.

If you send it in to Acer and they determine that the warranty is out I think that they will charge you something like $200. If you registered at Acer you can login and see the status. If you didn't, I am not sure what you will have to do.
Also. If you paid with a credit card, you can see if the warranty was extended by the cardholder.

and I was kinda expecting a response like that: it would cost almost as much to have it serviced as i paid for it in the first place ($250)
I'll check out the video when I get home, how complicated would you say it would be to install the replacement part?
While it is detailed and there are quite a few steps. I'd think that most folks with an extra hour and a half or so could do this with the right video. The one that I linked to isn't in english, and I am sure that there are way better ones. I think that video was taken in an Acer site somewhere and I thought it was interesting. Look for others, there are many. Now from what I've read the cable for the volume rocker is VERY fragile! Be sure the be extra careful with all of those, but especially that one, ok? If you think that you can deal with that and don't mind playing with tiny stuff, go for it. If you have some tweezers, those are handy. Hemostats are even better. And if you don't have a pry tool, try a guitar pick, credit card or license. Heck, a plastic knife is better than going at it with metal. Just something stiff and plastic so you don't scuff anything. the reason I wanted to change color is my LCD screen is damaged.. so I thought I would add just little bit extra to get mocha brown which I did want from the beginning.
