SENA leather cases - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

I have used SENA cases for various devices. They are of good quality and functional. I emailed them regarding a case for the Kaiser. Below their reply. So if more of us are interested, they may decide to make one. Email them to [email protected]
**************************************
"HTC TyTN II (Kaiser) Magnetic"
I am sorry we do not have a case for this device created. As I understand it no US carrier plans to release this device so sales projections for a custom cases is extremely low, management is currently reviewing the data that would support creating a case for this device, if customer demand supports a custom designed case then they will go forward with manufacturing a case at this time inquiries are at or below 4 per week, if you belong to a forum of users who want to do a write in campaign that may push the designs into progress. We continually evaluate customer requests, if we make it in the future. I will notify you, if/when we make a case for it.
If we can be of further assistance please let us know as we strive for customer satisfaction.
Your business is very important to us and we would like to do our best to meet or exceed your
expectations. Be assured that we value you as a customer and want you to know that our company
will continually strive to manufacture only the finest quality products.
The best compliment Sena Cases can receive is for our customers to refer our products to family
friends or others in the PDA Smart Phone community.
If you have any future questions, please feel free to contact me by e-mail or any customer support
staff member by calling 866-271-73362 ext 1
Sincerely,
Rhonda

Watch out if you get a magnetic case. I've heard the sliding sensor is magnet-based and using certain magnetic cases might trigger the Kaiser to think it has been slid open. This of course would wake it up and potentially affect battery life as well as unintentional phone actions.
I can't confirm this, but I read this somewhere, from a poster who was using a case with a magnetic closure.

I read about the magnetic case issue as well.
I read it depends where the magnets are located, so this something a goo manufacturer should take into account.

You might inform senacases that AT&T will be releasing this phone as the "Tilt" in the US very soon, and when they do, there will be a flood of customers. Point them to this site for research, there's even photos!

E-Mail sent!

Done last week, and gotten the following reply on Friday 28th:
Thank you for the update, our designer had told me that HTC TYTN and HTC TOUCH were not going to be released in the US, I will forward your e-mail for review. I appreciate your feedback.

I sent the email already. I hope they listen to us quickly...

I just sent an email. I have purchased several Sena cases for various gadgets. I bought my Tilt on Friday (10/5 ... release date) before noon. Of three AT&T corporate stores in my area (Frisco, TX), only one had any and they only had three. I went in to buy two and they only had one left. Looking forward to getting a nice case to protect this beauty of a phone. I'm handling it with kid gloves. I'm sure it won't be long and I'll be tossing it my pocket where my trusty 8125 has been for the past 18 months.

I went over to a corporate store in Lewisville last Thursday to get my Tilt.
I also sent an email to Sena. I have their cases on my x50v and iPod... hopefully they get something out soon for the Tilt.

Use the Palm Treo 750 case from AT&T stores. It fits the Tilt like a glove and has the swivel belt clip.

The Frisco store got another shopment today. I was planning on buying two phones and only got one. It's a really long story, but the cute little blonde douche-bag let the second one get away while I had told here I wanted two the second I walked through the door. She didn't immediately bring two out so the other one was sold by another sales clerk while I was there. Do NOT talk to the cute blond at the store ... she's EVIL!
Anyway, I talked to the manager and he offered to hold one for me when the next shipment came in. I got a call today, so I'll go get my wife's phone tomorrow.
I also sent an email to Sena and this was the reply I received:
"Thank you for the information. We will definitely release a case for it. Currently, it is still on the design process. I can notify you as soon as it released."

Horizontal Sena Case
I have a horizontal Sena case that I had for my (dare I say it..) Treo. Fits perfectly and works well with my Kaiser. No problem with the magnetic closure waking up the device. Only issue is the belt clip - it's one of those that just hook over your belt and works fine as long as you're not bending, stooping, etc., which can dislodge it. Lost a phone that way once!

Free Invisible Shield for you Touch Pro?

I sent an email to Zagg asking them whether there would be an invisible shield available for the TP any time soon and it got this email:
=====================
Thank you for contacting ZAGG, home of the invisibleSHIELD! My name is Stephen and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
Thank you for your recent email regarding an invisibleSHIELD for the HTC Touch Pro. We currently do not have an invisibleSHIELD created for this device but have been looking for an opportunity to do so as we consider this a ‘hot gadget!’
We are willing to create an invisibleSHIELD for your HTC Touch Pro absolutely free of charge. We are willing to waive the customer order fee ($9.95), the installation fee ($10.00) and the cost for the invisibleSHIELD itself – a value of $24.95! All we ask is for you to mail in your device to our office so we can take proper measurements and ensure that the invisibleSHIELD we create meets our high design standards. Mailing in your device will be your only cost for this order.
We do require that you send in your device using a traceable method and we suggest UPS Ground as the cheapest option. We also require that your shipment is fully insured.
Our shipping address is:

Please be sure to include your name, mailing address, contact phone number and valid email address so we can communicate with you during this process and create an order for you in our system. We also ask that you please have your device to us by September 23, 2008 which is 2 weeks from today, in order to take advantage of this special opportunity.
When your invisibleSHIELD is complete we will ship your device back via UPS Ground, traceable and insured, free of charge to you.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thank you for choosing the invisibleSHIELD. We appreciate your business
=====================
Unfortunately i cannot miss my TP, since it's a company phone, but if there is anyone else interested i'd be glad, because i'm really looking forward buying an Invisible shield to protect my precious TP.
So anyone who can miss their TP => apply now! When asking permission if i could post this email here in the forum, he also mentioned that the more inquiries they got the more likely they would introduce it. So mail them!
I got the same response and it's great but I'm not shipping my TP from the Netherlands to the USA since it would take ages for me to get it back and cost more than wait and purchase an Invisible shield for my TP when it becomes available.

Amen, and I know they are a trustworthy company but I don't trust the shipping services to get it back to me lol.
Must say you guys are lucky they even replied
I also popped them a mail a few days ago about a full body suit for the TP and they didn't come back to me at all.
I think I will also pass sending the phone to the US though... Might be better if somebody a bit closer takes that up with them.
Why don't they buy one anyway? Or request a sample device from HTC to build the shield on? shouldn't be that hard for them...
Do hope to find something like their full body protection in the near future. not so very happy with the default 'protection-tube' from HTC

Well if they still have the offer next month when they release the HTC Touch Pro here in the US for the Sprint network, I'll consider sending my unit in. I'm trying to hold out and get the Touch Pro, however the Diamond is awefully inviting (since it's available today).
seems to be a standard reply...
Hi,
(@WDawn)
I got the same answer back as you, when i wrote them last week...
Unfortunate I'm here in europe... and shipping would cost ca 3times more then the "Shield" himself
And missing it for more then one (business-)week...
@DicEvsTytnII
Did you got a confirmation-email back, that they got your email?
@channeman
So i think that you will get the same offer, when you contact them (nicely).
I, do not only I believe, would be totally grateful if you would do this.
Would you?
Do you got your HTC Touch Pro already?
Keoma
@keoma
yeah, eventually I made another request on the website to get a TP full body shield and now they did reply. With the standard msg though. "send us your TP and we'll make one for you free of charge blablabla..."
Not really an option for me either
hope somebody does it though. Really holding out on buying something else...
DicE
i recieved the same message. i sent a reply asking what is the turn around time.
i am in the US and i plan on sending my unit in overnight, that is if they can return it in a timely manner.
I will keep you posted.

Still no Zagg invisibleSHIELD for the Pro.
I don't know about you guys in the rest of the world, but here in australia the stores have a dummy phone, which is actually the case (Housing) on the model on display, I'm sure that if the shield company contacts HTC they would be able to purchase one of these for a fee and then use it to make the shields...
Roman....
Don't even bother with Invisible Shield. I've used them before. They're anything but invisible, often not cut to the right size and shape, and have a horrible spongy feel, that is horrible for stylus use.
And even with their discounts, overpriced. only thing I like is their wet install method, very forgiving and plenty of time to do it. No need for the nekkid in the steamy bathroom poor man's clean room install method.
so they were planning to give you the shield for free, give you the insanely priced ($10!?) "install fee" for free and NOT pay for shipping back and forth?
hahahahahaha
Someone buy a dummy phone and send it to them lol and get your free invisibleSHIELD.
Screen shield included?
There was actually a screenshield in the box when I picked up my Touch Pro. It's pretty crappy (I've already creased it by sliding it in the case), but it could tide one over until the 3rd party shields are sorted out.
Agreed. Now I've finally got it, there's no way I'm letting it out of my sight, especially to send through the mail to some company I've never heard of just so they can take measurements for a screen protector. Don't they realise that if they asked HTC for measurements - or better still, just went out and bought their own device! - they'd be able to produce a cover in a matter of minutes?
I myself have this cover on mine, with the standard screen protector supplied in the retail box from HTC applied as well.
jincshop eBay Store - Hard plastic case
I'm sure they'll have more available, but you may just be able to get such a case from other online stores, too.
Well waits over guys cause zagg just got the screenprotector in stock

Invisble shield hard to apply, TIPS?

I had it on my herald and it went on easy and looked great. Putting it on the fuze its alot harder and it looks pretty bad, i got the full protection, but just screen coverage alone gave me alot of issues.
Any tips?
I followed the instructions carefully
Did you watch their youtube videos? They have them on their website. I have a feeling (waiting for mine to arrive) that this will not work out for full protection. I should have watched the videos earlier.
You have to seriously molest the shield to make it attach to the corners. There is a penalty for spending too much time or not enough time on molding it. There is also a penalty for finger oils, too much liquid, not enough liquid, blah blah blah. This is no Shamwow!
I will try to record me putting it together on mine for the first time so we can share in the fun.
Their videos are like step 1...step 2...step 154,987...hahaha
I love knowing that we are about to spray a plastic product with a bunch of liquid and then adhere it mere millimeters away from the warranty voiding pink water sensitive tabs.
Man, Im a negative SOB on something I have never tried. Sorry Zagg I will correct myself if needed.
Perhaps I should have gone with one of the brands I used for my 8125 or my x61tablet.
Hi:
Can someone who has applied an Invisible Shield to a Touch Pro/Fuze, please post a good quality, up close picture of how it looks after installation? I have looked at their site, but all the pics as fairly small.
I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!

havent tried the back yet
You should all return your InvisibleShield and buy a real full body kit with BodyGuardz.
Way better then the crap you get from Zagg and BodyGuardz give you 2 full kits.

According to InvisibleShield there doesn't have one either. Just had a buddy of mine order one from them. All they have right now is the TouchPro. I guess just wait it out until they have with the PTT already cut out. I am going to modify mine when I get it. I'm not that picky about it. Just trying to save people the trouble of ordering from Zagg. Probably the worse customer service I had ever experienced.
I just ordered a full body kit from ghost armor, it should be here in a few days. Any one ever used it? I assume they are all about the same as far as installation. I have just the screen protection from body gaurdz right now, it has a lot of drag on the screen (stylus doesn't slide very well)
Contacted Zagg they approved my return. Im assuming the guardz is the same type of material as Zagg uses? Reason being, on the touch screen it provides a much better feel that other screen protectors.
Cant really explain it buy it sort of gives you a light grip its an amazing feel compared to a bare screen or a normal screen protector in general

To be fair, I have used InvisibleShield's on my Tilt, MDA, Nintendo DS and Sony PSP and those things are indestructible! After 1-3 years, they are all still going strong.

I agree.
...boxwave
I'm curious to see how well the invisibleshield went on the back of the fuze. I was thinking of getting it, but just for the back. I use on all of my devices with screens the boxwave anti-glare. Some ppl argue that it dims the screen, makes it look less sharp, and I disagree. They make all my devices from my Palm Lifedrive down to my Sony PSP usable outside, and that's a biggy for me. So the first thing I'm doing when I open my fuze box is going to be taking the already unwrapped boxwave and putting it on, before I even turn on the device.
But the back worries me, it seems like a scratch magnet, and I want to get that protected too. Anyone want to post pics from their installs? How hard was it with all those facets?

Well they might be strong but there customer service is compared that of Raiders offensive production this season. Abysmal.
I have never in my life been so admiment about asking for a return. I have dealt with mobile providers customer services, which by industry standards is always pretty bad, but Zagg has reached a new low.
I never said they had a horrible product by any means, but there Customer service was enough to make me post, not only this post but numerous others about the company. Whoever is running the company needs to make a serious adjustment on the way they handle customers. I ordered a InvisibleShield or I should deem it "The Shield that never came to be" on Saturday the 15th. The informed that the Shield would be shipped in 3-5 business days. Never heard a response after 5 business days. When I e-mailed the company asking them about it. Nothing. No response for 2 days. When I asked the "Customer Service Represenative" about where the order was all the could tell me was that it was processing.
When I called for further clarification all I could get was the same answer and the lady on the phone told me "I have no idea why it hasn't shipped yet" When I told her my complaints about the company all she said in response was, "I'm sorry to heard that." Not, how can I make this better for you. Or I will check on your order right now and make sure that it's shipped out today. I immediately there after cancelled my order and sent my money else where. Of course I have to wait 3 - 5 business days for my money to be returned to my bank account. Funny that it took less then 12 hours for them to take the money but takes 3 - 5 business days for the money to be put bank into my account. Funny how that works.
If you are happy with InvisibleShield, then so be it. I just wanted other people on XDA to know about the horrible customer service that I experienced.
A side note. Another fellow XDA member purchased a invisbleshield the day after I ordered mine. He received his order last Wednesday. How does somebody who ordered the same exact product in the same state one day after me get the product before me. What's funny about though is that he received a invisibleshield for another phone not the Fuze.
Once again another stellar example of the applitude of people running Zagg.

FYI: Body Glove Snap on Case Info

I loved my ATT Fuze until i got my Tmobile Touch Pro 2.
When i had my Fuze, i had this Body Glove case. it worked well for the first few days and then it would fall off with any sort of touch. Fast foward 4 cases later and 8 months. I go to the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show last week in las vegas. I end up talking Harsh - Project development manager @ fellows. i told him how i hated the case for the Fuze, and expressed my disgust for fellows products, yet I was wearing one on my hip for the TP2(he did peep it). Told him i did not give up on the product and actually liked how it fit on my fuze.
Long story short, the original mold for the fuze was based off of a prototype phone. therefor the product was flawed, it would end up being too loose after 10 minutes . Harsh gave me his card and told me to email him my contact info when i got home and he will send me a replacement for free. the bad ones were supposed to be recalled. this is why i think so many floated on ebay!! he sned it promptly and i got it two days later.
Sold the fuze to my buddy and gave him the new case and he's loving it!!
All i can say it wow, what a great company and plus they stand behind their product!! defects and all, cant say that about the $1.99 free shipping crap from china/hong kong!!
here harsh's contact info

BTW- just wanted to show love for the fuze guys since i moved on to the TP2, good thing NRG does roms for that phone!!

HTC said they would fix it but didn't

Because my Nexus one had a dead/stuck pixel, I called H.T.C. and requested a repair. I sent it to them, and a few days later they said that they had examined it and determined that I needed to pay for the repair. I asked them why, and they replied that it was scratched and cracked.
Well, when I sent it to them, I had an invisible shield (a full body one, mind you) on it, and there nary a blemish on the screen. I told them this, and after a few days (and a couple more telephone calls), one of their managers had a technician examine it, found that it was fine, and said that they would fix it for free.
I received it on Monday, but didn't touch it until Wednesday because I was busy at work and waiting for the new invisible shield that I had ordered. When I used it, I noticed that they had removed the invisible shield, which I expected, but they hadn't fixed the stuck pixel! (Besides this, I had returned it to them with the original box, which they didn't send back to me)
So I called them last night and requested another repair. The representative asked me if they had charged my account for the shipping, and I answered truthfully that no, they had not charged me at all. I suppose that I am fortunate that they didn't, considering the other things they did. So now I am sending my Nexus One back two weeks after I returned it to them the first time, hoping that they will fix it properly, and without any argument.
HTC never charges you for return shipping. You only have to pay to ship it to them.
I am sorry you are having these troubles!
I successfully swapped my Nexus One due to a dead pixel within 3 days! I made a call on Day one at 11pm and by Day 3 at 8 am I had my replacement phone.

That's a bit crap, in the UK they email you a pre-paid shipping label.
I live in the U.S.A., and they sent me a prepaid shipping label. I'm just ticked off because I sent it to them, argued with them for four days, and they didn't even fix it, and two weeks later I need to send it right back. Plus it cost me another Invisible Shield.
Swap method is always better, faster, and easier. Plus, you get a new phone. Who doesn't love that?
They said that they couldn't swap it because it was too far (a few weeks) the purchase date. Maybe the person I spoke to didn't know what she was talking about. That's sort of my impression of the support division of the company, though I know I'm probably having an unrepresentative bad experience.

I think this is BS from HTC. I swapped my N1 after almost two months. They will put a hold on your credit card; if you can live with that the replacement is much faster than the repair.
I'll consider that if they don't fix it properly this time. I didn't want to swap it because of my engraving and the full-body invisible shield that I put on it, but if they don't fix it this time, I probably won't be willing to trust their repair department again.
I had much better customer service from Apple when I had my iPhone ..I'm getting really annoyed with HTC ...especialy with that multitouch issue..
I have a question. Did they release $28 after you got your 'repaired' phone?

I had a dead easy time with apple and my wife's 3G and her 3GS ... you walk in with the broken phone, they demand £150 (ish) for the repair which is always your fault. They then do an estimate and if its expensive (ie > £150) they turn round and say it's BER (beyond economical repair) and offer to sell you a new one. If it's a cheap fix (ie cracked glass) they repair it and pocket the £150.
Now that is customer service!
Other issues such as the 3G problem on the iPhone where it cascades from 3G to Edge to GRPS to No Service and the only way to get it back is to either power off or switch to airplane mode and back. Took it into two phone shops and then the Apple store in London and their solution? Turn off 3G.
Although their best to date is a macbook which I hardly ever use stopped charging. Rang up and they said bring it in to the Genius Bar in 2 weeks. I did, they then said it's warranty expired yesterday (13 days after I reported the fault) and refused to touch it. Demanded to see the manager said they would do me a favour and look at it for free as it was only 1 day outside warranty. They checked the battery and it had been charged 37 times in a year. The guy said this was quite heavy use and was a years worth and I would have to buy a new battery! Queue one massive kick off in the Apple store, resulting in them begrudgingly fitted a new battery!
Or the iMac 24" ATI I bought that crashed all the time, they gave me 3 units before I read on the internet that it was a software issue. I started running XP and voila ... sorted. Apple rolled out a fix quietly without telling anyone a month or so later.
Yes Apple support rocks!
All modern companies support sucks in some cases ... get used to it. Sell a million units and if you get 99% satisfaction you will get 10000 unhappy customers. Give them a platform to shout on and voila!
I bet not everyone gets Apple support like I do, some people probably can't believe how good they are.
Anyway, enough ranting, I wish google would fix the screen calibration issue although I only need to dab the power button and unlock it to fix mine.

They said that they couldn't swap it because it was too far (a few weeks) the purchase date. Maybe the person I spoke to didn't know what she was talking about. That's sort of my impression of the support division of the company, though I know I'm probably having an unrepresentative bad experience.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Having worked in multiple call centers let me be the first to tell you that it's hard to find intelligence or common sense in them. I work in a call center for AT&T right now and I do work for the Vice President and Assistant Vice President because nobody else knows what they're doing. As soon as they realized that I had common sense and knowledge of technology they took me off of the phone, gave me a raise and converted me from Contractor to Employee. I asked my Director "Why do you let the managers hire people who are so ignorant" His reply was "I'm paying them $17/hr, I don't expect them to think. We have the information and tools set in place to think for them. If I wanted them to think then I would hire people with a higher intelligence and I would pay them more. Instead, I have people like you come up with tools and other things to think for them"
So this is why I hate when people say "I called T-Mobile and they said..." because that means nothing. You can get a different answer every time because most of them don't know the answer because your questions are above their level of intelligence. Now, I'm in no way saying that every person who works in a call center is an idiot. I'm saying that a large percentage of them do not understand anything about what they're troubleshooting.
I was reading a survey in P.C. Magazine about customers' ratings of the service and product quality from companies such as Apple, Toshiba, and Hewlett-Packard. They rated things such as the frequency with which hardware was found to be faulty soon after purchase, how easy it was to have it replaced, and other such topics. Apple did rank first overall, and Toshiba ranked second. This doesn't surprise me, since I have a ten year old Toshiba Tecra 8100 that still runs fine, though I've fixed the screen hinges.
H.T.C. was not in their listing, and I had never dealt with their support before. I replaced my X51v's screen myself after having it for three years and getting some water damage (I also replaced the backup battery later), and that's working fine now. I'm kind of nervous now -- I half expect my Nexus One to come back with real scratches on the screen, or more dead pixels, or some other problem that it didn't have before. After they already accused me of damaging it last time, I sort of wonder what they might damage to do with it this time -- something worse than sending it back unfixed.

I have a question. Did they release $28 after you got your 'repaired' phone?

Thanks, buddy. I can let mine go to repairing.
Hope you get what you expect
I sent it back to them last Thursday, of course, and received a message on Monday saying that they had received it. Today, I received another message saying that they had completed their diagnostics, and guess what my option was? Pay for repair, just like last time! I sent a response asking why and called them, but all the morons in their customer service department could do was 'escalate' it, so I just sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

I would be careful saying anything pro apple on this forum, lol.
I have been pretty lucky with both of my htc products so far. My N1 is great and so was my G1.

[Q] Just picked up xoom at Best Buy. Think it might be used?

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if my supposedly new zoom I just purchased from Best Buy was actually new or a return. It started up like it was new with all the setup stuff. What seemed kind of funny was when a went into my user defined dictionary there was all kinds of foul words in it like it had been used before. also it had software on it that didn't seem like it would come with a new device. Software like Craps, Blacjack, US presidents Trivia, Vampire Trivia just to name a few. Was I sold a used Xoom as New. Thanks for any help.
Keith
My Xoom case was sealed. The Xoom itself was in plastic i hade to take off. And none of the apps you mention was on mine. I have the Wifi Xoom, maybe things is different on the 3g Xoom.
I would consider taking it back.
When you got it, was the seal on the box broken? Did it have the protective film on the screen? If it wasn't like this video when you opened it, I'd say so. And also, was it advertised as completely new, or new condition?
Thanks for Quick reply. I actually never had the box in my hands. I had them put a Zagg screen protector on it. Sales person took it in back room came out with screen protector on it. I think they tried to pull a fast one on me. Some of the words in the user dictionary were f**king bit*h a**hole amoung others.

Yes....the games installed were a dead giveaway....they sold you a used one, not even reconditioned, because then they would have wiped the data. Someone returned one for whatever reason, and when they took it in back to put the ZAGG on it, they made the swap for some reason.
I would not even bother with dealing with the sales people...take it straight to the manager and raise holy hell. Say your kid had used it for school, found that language in the dictionary...permanently scarred.......going to sue...blah blah. You will come out with a new one and a case AND a giftcard.
Thanks for the help taking back as soon as they open today. I will raise hell with them. This was way out of line. Those salesmen should be fired!
I also have to get all my personal data off here before I return it what a big waste of time.

Be careful not to wipe any of the stuff that was already on there.
I would either get a new one or keep the one you got with benefits as some money back or free accessories.
A returned device should always be sold at a lower price and the customer has to be informed that the unit is a returned one.
On a funny side, tell them you are like Jackie Chan you don't curse and don't use guns, and you felt awfully offended by the words specially when your kids are insulting you because they are too smart for that tablet and found the dictionary before you.
Just sayin....
hope you get some goodies.
definitely a used one. maybe a demo one with salesteam. Great advice by folks above.
I used to bought one Samsung Galaxy Tab from Queens Mall Center the Srpnt Sales booth .
It was the last one but the sales person spinning his head(seriously, he spins his head to show definite yes to my question "whether it is a new one") promising that is a new/unopened one.
And guess what?
When I open Samsung Galaxy for the first time, there was one video in the device shooting the booth manager talking to customer (shooting from the manager's back).
I took it back, and show them the video. (strongest evidence I ever had and no dispute whatsoever).
And as a result of being disgusted, I just returned Samsung Galaxy and not planning to buy anyone from sprint for a while.
Take it back!
i had some isues with 3 xooms that google books were not working as youtube icon.
Well after i research the solution of my problem thanks XDA. i went to buy a new one.
Well the sales person at best buy offered me a new one on a seal box for regular price... and also had offered me an opem item while he said he had opened by mistake idk if it was return or not.
Well he offered me return item for $519.00 so i went for it. i got a girft card back for my remaining balance... abotu $70. i got my self a Motorola case $39.99 and i still have some balance on my gift card.
Until then i havent got any problems with it. was clean though.. like new..
Like peple had mention above you should be able to bring it up to Manager and come out with some freebies and some discounts.. good luck!
make sure you tell the manager it is illegal to sell used items as new. tell them you want COMPLETE satisfaction and a reasonable compensation for your time wasted, aggregation caused by their store and to help restore your trust in best buy. remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. so stay calm, polite but firm and you could walk out with a major win.
I'd skip going to the store all together and write a scathing, but well worded letter to Best Buy corporate including the store number and all the pertinent information. Tell them you and your son were deeply offended by the words found in the dictionary. Make up some scenario where you were typing in a recipe for fudge in a text message and the dictionary suggested "****" as an alternative.
I've been in a few of these situations and have always found that going directly to corporate yields the best results. Do some Google searching or gather some intel at at the Best Buy in question and find out who the regional manager is. This is the information age and people's contact information isn't hard to get. Get people above the retail level involved and heads will roll, especially in the corporate structure where back stabbery and employees screwing eachother over is common place.
EDIT: Threatening legitimate lawsuits is a definite attention getter, and your case seems quite legitimate.
Can't you just match the serial number on the box with the one in the Xoom to verify if it was swapped?
Definitely go in and speak to a store manager. Threaten to call the BBB and while you're at it try and secure an OTG cable.

Agreed, snatch a free otg cable from them while your at it. It will save you a headache later on... plus you deserve it, I'd be pissed.
I'd be even more pissed if i was that Samsung dude up there.

I'd take it back and demand some sort of compensation. You're most certainly not the first user.
Mine was an open-box return, but it was flawless as far as I could tell and they gave me $50 bucks off. At least tell them you want some accessories or a BB gift card or something.

I would also advise, while saying this do not start taking your pants off. This did not work well for me after following this posters advice.
so what happened?
Check the serial number on the receipt vs the xoom. Tale tale sign.
