Network Analyzer for WM5 available from MS! - Networking

Hi There,
Just found the following info there:
http://www.clieuk.co.uk/wm.shtml
Can output packets to a cap file (ethereal) among other things.
Direct link to the software:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...01-49d4-4506-a03b-c41bc76c2f51&DisplayLang=en
And for those overlooking the instructions:
Only install in ROM, not on Storage/SD
Cheers,
Hal

Software placeholder
Here is the software, just in case some can't access this page.
Now the question is: does it work in L2 promiscuous mode? Would be nice to troubleshoot basic WiFi...
Enjoy,
Hal

I'm wondering how it works overall.. I haven't tried it yet, as I've had this fit of customizing OS ROM's that I think I finally have out of my system.. Need to put it on my device, just haven't gotten that far yet.

I would really like to test this little util, but doesn`t work on my O2 Trion.

QTEK 9000 (aka HTC Universal) - Q's

Hello all,
So I got me a QTEK 9000 with the following set:
ROM Version : 1.13.64 WWE
Radio Version : 1.03.00
Protocol Version :42.36.P8
Here's a few probs I have:
1.) I'm missing that darn BTIcon in my tray. Can anyone post a link to a CAB file enabling me to install the sucker?
2.) When applying the manual VGA tweak for 640X480 res I do not see the Windows Start icon or any other icon in the top bar besides time displayed on the top righthand side.
Please advice and/or provide BTIcon.CAB specifically for HTC Universal or QTEK 9000. I tried all the other options on this website already.
Thanks,
D
Aaah come on people. No one that can help me out here?
So no BT icon on settings/comms?

Settings/Comms sports the BT Icon beautifully but it doesn't show in the Tray and Top.
Try this freeware: http://oz.sciox.org/ozbt.html

Hello Dream,
Thanks for the advice but in my opinion something as simple as a Bluetooth icon should be solveable without referting to a complete ROM change. Please advice.
Best regards,
D

thank you thank you thank you.
I am just curious, when you say BT icon, are you referring to the small icon on the tray that shows the connection for the phone, BT, WiFi, and All?
Hi,
Regarding your missing icons in VGA mode. The 96.dll files have been "signed" with a developers certificate (SDK) therefore you need to load the SDK certificate on to your system before these system resources will be permitted to operate.
There should be a file called SdkCerts.cab which you need to install first.
Please note that the use of the SDK certificates will pose a security risk to your system.

Full software list ?

Have been reading the many posts about software not working on the wizard. Is this a wizard issue or just a global wm2005 issue ?
Is there a list of software confirmed working with the wizard / wm2005 ?

I suppose it's a global, not a wizard's specific.

Qtek 9100 - wifi monitor

Hi All.
Exist any software for wifi monitoring about me on the Qtek 9100?
Thanks for any answear
To my mind the best one is WiFiFoFum2. I use it on my Qtek 9100. Thats great indeed. Try it. Another one I've also tried is WiFi Companion. This one is shareware.
hitchhicker is also one of my favourites and is freeware

You already received some tips to find access points, but it's not clear if you mean that.
It could be you're looking for a sniffer.
There is only one utility I've found until now, and that's:
http://airscanner.com/downloads/sniffer/sniffer.html
But there are some issues with the program, see here:
http://forums.pocketpcfaq.com/viewtopic.php?t=17629&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45
I now testing WiFiFoFum.
...but
I must install .NET CF 2.0., which occupied 5MB of memory
....but
WiFiFoFum is great software
I have a look at Airscanner Mobile Sniffer.
Thanks for answears
I found FREE wifi monitor here:

Helmi Needs Our Help!!! Pocket Loox T830 ROM. Where can we find it?

Hi everyone. We all know who Helmi is... He is the current creator of one of our wonderful ROMs that we enjoy. He needs our help. He is looking for a particular BT stack:

Guys, does anyone has a pocket loox T830 rom or can anyone gave me the link to its, Cos I've successfully port Broadcomm Bluetooth Stack v 1.7.6.0500 (newest one) to our Universal, A2DP so much better with Broadcomm stack, SIM Access profile and also we can transmit any audio to Mono/Standar Handsfree device.
the only problem I'm facing is, my stack is conflict with Universal Ril driver, so I need some missing files from T830 device.
I much prefer Broadcomm Bluetooth stack then MS one... anyone?

I am pretty sure, if Helmi can do it, JWright, Indra, and Ivan can do it too. Which means a better ROM selection for the Universal. So please, let us know if you know where to get one.

Hi Menneisyys,
Thanks for the info. If you guys find it first, please do let us know. I also emailed the head of the Pocket Loox Forum site, so hopefully we can get a response.

HTC Plus

Find this from other forum. Work fine on my HTC Trinity.
More screenshot
oh its taing too much of real estate My screen area!
Does it support VGA?
Backlight working ?
Does the backlight button work with this release ? In the other version your device will freeze at bootup....anyone tested already ?
btw: seems to be the same version like in the other post....
Cheers
Edit:
Could not wait Just installed, no problems on my device (Artemis) and Backlight-button. Looks cool.
What i don't like: in the GUI-Config you can only add apps from the Programs-directory (for example: when you want to add solitaire (which is stored in "Games"), you need to move the shortcut into the Programs-Folder....or you need to add the registry-key in HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCPlus\Shortcuts manually....or am i wrong ?
But in the end.... i think i stay with HTC Home....
Works on Artemis?!

It's interenting that you had no problems. I also installed on my Artemis with official HTC Asia WM6 rom and yes, it works until you switch off the device. Than you can never switch it on again, only by soft reset with stylus!
So I uninstalled the prog quickly...
Otherwise it would be nice to have it on Today screen, so if someone could construct a bug-free cab from the extracted files I would really welcome it!
cheers
Anybody tried this on a Touch?
The "other" Version (as petervbeck says) in the Hermes Forum doesn't work on the Touch.
I doesn't work on my Touch!
Working on Wizard
HTC Plus is Working on Wizard!
just 2 bugs:
when you select battery status in Customization and you tab on the symbol you go to wifi settings and backlight is not working

I'm using Tom's 4.1 full and as i said, no problems. But in fact- i like HTC Home more, but that's my opinion.... on my device i had no problem with hanging boots or something similar, i tested all the buttons....but not for a long time...then i switched back to HTC home...that's my expirience with Plus..
Cheers
How about a little credit where credit is due? This is the same version I posted in the Hermes forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326689
Today I posted an updated version that should help some people who had problems with it.
This tool was non-functional when I found it. I had to dissassemble the dlls to find out why the utility would not work (missing HTCImgCodec.dll).

Thanks! Keep the great work!

Is the "aplication launching pad" of HTC plus finger-scrollable, or the only way to scroll is by tapping on the arrow?
TIA
Can anyone confirm that it uses less memory than HTC Home?
