HTC Plus - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Find this from other forum. Work fine on my HTC Trinity.

oh its taing too much of real estate My screen area!

Does it support VGA?

Backlight working ?
Does the backlight button work with this release ? In the other version your device will freeze at bootup....anyone tested already ?
btw: seems to be the same version like in the other post....
Cheers
Edit:
Could not wait Just installed, no problems on my device (Artemis) and Backlight-button. Looks cool.
What i don't like: in the GUI-Config you can only add apps from the Programs-directory (for example: when you want to add solitaire (which is stored in "Games"), you need to move the shortcut into the Programs-Folder....or you need to add the registry-key in HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCPlus\Shortcuts manually....or am i wrong ?
But in the end.... i think i stay with HTC Home....

Works on Artemis?!

It's interenting that you had no problems. I also installed on my Artemis with official HTC Asia WM6 rom and yes, it works until you switch off the device. Than you can never switch it on again, only by soft reset with stylus!
So I uninstalled the prog quickly...
Otherwise it would be nice to have it on Today screen, so if someone could construct a bug-free cab from the extracted files I would really welcome it!
cheers

Anybody tried this on a Touch?
The "other" Version (as petervbeck says) in the Hermes Forum doesn't work on the Touch.

I doesn't work on my Touch!

Working on Wizard
HTC Plus is Working on Wizard!
just 2 bugs:
when you select battery status in Customization and you tab on the symbol you go to wifi settings and backlight is not working

I'm using Tom's 4.1 full and as i said, no problems. But in fact- i like HTC Home more, but that's my opinion.... on my device i had no problem with hanging boots or something similar, i tested all the buttons....but not for a long time...then i switched back to HTC home...that's my expirience with Plus..
Cheers

How about a little credit where credit is due? This is the same version I posted in the Hermes forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326689
Today I posted an updated version that should help some people who had problems with it.
This tool was non-functional when I found it. I had to dissassemble the dlls to find out why the utility would not work (missing HTCImgCodec.dll).

Thanks! Keep the great work!

Is the "aplication launching pad" of HTC plus finger-scrollable, or the only way to scroll is by tapping on the arrow?
TIA

Can anyone confirm that it uses less memory than HTC Home?

Screen Rotation for Dummies (SRS)

Hi,
This is seems to be the last version of our magic tool - Screen Rotation Service (or SRS). It includes Second Edition's Today Theme (menu & today scrollers support in landscape) and feature to automatically resize your today screen for Landscape Theme!
(Download it here: setup.armv4.exe)
During installation you will need to answer "Yes" to this message:
Code:
The file"\Windows\ace_ddi.dll" is hidden, read-only, or a system file. Would you like to replace the existing file?
After installation you need to go to: [Start menu] - [Settings] - [Today] and select "WMSE" theme from the list
And one more, minimize (X) your programs before switching
Thanx to abc and everyone here!
Re: SRS HE = Halloween Edition
Feel free to post your feedback/questions on this version of SRS to this thread
More recommendations that i remember about SRS:
1) Do not soft-reset your device when in landscape-mode
2) Minimize (X) your programs when switching between different modes
To install SRS-HE:
1] Download SRS-HE to your PC
2] Run it to get "setup.armv4.cab"
3] Copy this file to your PDA
4] Tap on it to install SRS-HE
5] Soft-reset your device
6] Go to [Start Menu] -> [Settings] -> [Today]
7] Select "Wmse" Theme from the list
8] Use [Start Menu]->[Settings]->[SRS] to switch the modes

No it is installable on any Himalaya device with any combinations of ROM, radio and ExtROMs
If it doesn't run at your specific system, you can always uninstall it without any damage. It really worth to try!
Yeah, I have ROM 1.60 (latest O2 UK rom) and it didn't work very well at all. Half the OS had problems, including the camera (even v2.5), the Today screen and many of the Control Panel applets.
I've seen reports on this site of people having fewer problems with ROM 1.66, but I don't think anybody has claimed that they've got it working with ROM 1.60 without problems.
Still, I'm hoping O2 UK are going to release 1.72 tomorrow!

Where did you get such ROM version? And why you are not moving to 1.72? It doesn't really matter who the supplier of the ExtRom is (imate, qtec, tmob...) it is a matter of OS rom content. So, just update your device and receive a set of 1.72 advantages (faster BT binding, greater performance, no good CT and so on)

I got the update from my service provider: O2 in the UK. It's the latest version available, at the moment. I don't need all the hassle of messing about with ROMs from other countries and providers. I'll wait until the next ROM is released by O2 for me. (Tomorrow.)

Accelerometer
Hey,
I've installed it on my HTC Advantage X7510 with WM6.! Professional, and I can confirm that it works.
When I'm in the today screen and I turn the PDA it does turn in Landscape and Portrait mode with no problem great at last it works.
Thanks for the link if anybody what's me to try anything please let me known.
Thanks
Gigino
I am happy for you gigino, but I am in the same boat as palmchen (have a X7500 with t-mobile WM6 ROM).
Perhaps the interface to the sensor is slightly different between WM6 and 6.1
I am sure it can't be that difficult to access it from WM6. Hopefully the developer will be able to implement it or give some clue which will assist some brainbox from this community in hacking this version to get working with WM6. In my eyes this is one of those killer apps.
I tried this on wm6.1, and had the same error message.
IMO the answer is simple: it works using HTC VUEFLO .dll. X7510 has those dll, x7500 doesn't!
In AP4 or AP5 it will work

only because we can't get it working!
Sorry guys, we doesn´t have these devices for testing.
We just was surprised about the info, our tool is working on HTC Advantage X7510.
Also we not know the reason why it is not working on HTC Advantage X7500.
Possible reasons:
- missing/different software driver
- different ROM/ACU version
- missing needed hardware
As i said, we cannot test because of missing hardware.

Not because of that. It was working all right.
I hated this auto rotate thing because 9 out of times the rotate happens against my wish, and it slows my device.
After the initial few minutes of novelty, I was already wanting to switch it off.

No, I don't, there are SOME dll, you can find it in the AP4 / AP5 ROM. I agree, the rotation is too slow and the screen rotation is useless and time consuming 90% of time. My brain is much faster in image rotation and my finger is slower than brain but acts only when needed

The speed you can change in settings: #timeout(value) - default value 1000 ms

[release-updated 9/1] nueNoBar 1.3

Hello,
I have coded a replacement for dcinobar, which hides the bottom bar on the today screen, letting you use it for your today screen plugins. Unlike dcinobar, nueNoBar works with the latest wm builds (WM6.1 build 20000+). If dcinobar works on your ROM, use that instead, this is really for those new builds dcinobar's method doesn't work on.
edit: updated to 1.3, hopefully fixes more problems some people were having.
Download it from http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nueNoBar.aspx ...
Thanks heaps. Good to see a much-requested app updated to the latest WM version.
On a side note, how come your rad nueLED isn't on your website ?

NavNGo iGo 8 for the X1

I'm a long-time fan of NavNGo's iGo navigation solution, and since yesterday also a happy owner of an X1. However, these two are currently not on speaking terms with each other. Installation seems to work fine, but clicking the application icon results in, well, nothing.
Searching the net in general and this forum in particular has shown me that this has been a problem with a number of HTC devices. I have tried a couple of the proposed solutions for some of them, but none have worked so far. Has anyone managed to get iGo 8 (or, for that matter, 2006 - I have both) running on the X1 and, if so, how? Any help would be appreciated.
did you update to the latest version with the contentmanager? also try to disable agps on your x1 and try again, but what also can happen is that it dont likes the WVGA Resolution for that i dont have an solution.

I think what you have to do is find a skins that is wvga compatible for it. I've been looking all over the net to find one, but I cant. I'm sure this is the problem.

one thing you could try is to add the sys.txt lines without using the skin. Does the original skin resize if you do that?

Hi to everybody,
I thought about using the Garmin, but if the Igo could be used on the X1 it would be better still.

Which one is the best? Advantages and disadvantages?

Hi umexed!
I am trying to decide which one to install - gyrator OR mobilemagic, unfortunately I really don't have the time to read tens of pages of posts just for this
Since you seem to be familiar with both (and gsen on top! ) can you please describe the reason(s) you prefer mobilemagic? Thank you so much!
Cheers!
Dan
PS: I also checked the programs from your signature and I saw a really nice set of WM icons for bluetooth, wifi and the rest - do you mind sharing the source with us? Thanks again!
MobileMagic also supports button mapping (and other sensors).
Works very well.
