Downgrade - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Just upgraded to the new rtom, and now it's impossible to go back to my 1.6.7.1.
HELPPP!!!!! ...would be much appreciated

I understand your trouble.
First, download aWizard from the ftp site:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Misc/aWizard-V1_3beta2.zip
From within aWizard, enable RAPI, then run CID Unlock to be safe.
Then download this file:
ftp://xda:[email protected]__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe
Run the program and it will downgrade your phone to the following:
ipl and spl: 1.01
gsm: 1.12.10
rom: 1.05.04.12
Once installed you can opt out of the extended rom by reseting after the initial setup. Use the wizard unlocking tool and soft reset. You can then delete and write new files to the extended rom if you like.
This rom works well if you do not need pushmail or run stereo bluetooth. At this point you may upgrade the rom and radio if you like.
Please be aware that the 2.07 radio rom found in the newer os rom does not succesfully mate with a 1.x os rom. I hope this helps.
Best,
DrBig74

Hi,
Even worse than it already is? Jeezus... :?
I cannot use because my ROM is a Greek one, and the new one lacks everything Greek until the Greek guys translate it by the end of the month. I was stupid enough to want to test it, without checking about downgrading first.
But I finally made it

the nba file could potentially be found on the ftp site...though i'm not sure...
I have the T-Mobile MDA (US) so before I did any editing I backed up the rom, splash, etc... using aWizard which generated the nba files for the ROM, Radio, splash, etc...

You may use any ROM Updgrade, you may even want to cook your own ROM, but please do not think of performing a radio stack upgrade if your present radio is working well and giving you a trouble free service.
Hi guys,
I 'm in same situation but with higher versions, and can hardly wait to get a new 2003 ROM.
I can't just play with my XDA as I use it all the time for work and it's pretty stable so far. I just also can't tell that the ROM is 'totally' separate from the RUU in WM2003.
So the question is: is there any one here who has gone through a 2003 upgrade for Qtek 1010 to tell us his thoughts after the upgrade ?
I read a lot about the stability of 4.00.16 ENG, but all been written was for O2 R4.21 or T-Mobile R6.xx. Did any one in this region (Mid East) with R 3.2x went into this upgrade ? and what is the current status ?
Thanx all ....
Latest ...
I tried upgrading to 4.00.11 ENG from the kitchen ... no matter how many trys it just restarts and gives the same error message "Can't open USB/com port ..." ...
Do I miss anything ??
more update ...
Tried to cook the new ROM as .nb1 file and used Xdatools from the kitchen to flash my device .... same result :?
Is it possible that there is a ROM protection on my XDA ???

Hi Biso007,
Look at the IDIOTS GUIDE at:
http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3171
and follow the instructions thoroughly one by one and you can't go wrong, it did work for me, I was in the same situation.
Samohile - Thanks. It is good advice to not mess with the radio if you can help it.
My only problem is that my device periodically shuts off. Then pressing the power button soft boots it. I cant tell for sure but it seems that this happens after an incoming or missed call. It seems that other friends using ROM 3.18.04 and Radio 3.25.01 (like our friend biso007 here) seem to have very stable systems.
I can try upgrading the ROM only and see what happens but the information at www.carrierdevices.com seems to imply that both ought to be upgraded at the same time. I notice it is an Australian site. Does that matter? Also, the version of the radio upgrade is a bit confusing, at least from its name. (Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe] ). I wonder what this RSUv1.15 translates into since the name of the exe file for the ROM is nicely descriptive of the version (3.18.04).
Any advice in this would be very welcome..
Well i am using WM2003 4.00.11 and its working fine for me no problem i cooked in the kitchen you just need to read arround this great forum for a whgile on topics such as upgrades and ROM to know exactly what you are dealing with and then you will able to upgrade smoothly.
Hi ARZLEB
I read lots and lots about upgrade lessons but none of them worked for me .... I got an advice to use SD card with bootloader as it's the only working way. Now I wonder why the EXE method was created!!
I see that u got the 4.00.11 working. Did u upgrade it using EXE or SD card. Any help would be so appreciated ... thnx
Well i used the EXE methode the file i cooked in the Kitchen but i didnt change the version i left as 3 at the bottom of the page it works fine i upgraded from 3.XX to 4.XX then i downgraded from 4.00.11 to 4.00.05 then upgraded again all using EXE format so far working great.
i will be honest with you i know about the SD methode very well but never tried it so u have to make more search on this issue.
If you need anything more plz message me anytime and i will be more then whilling to help you step by step...

Faisal sorry for very late reply.
I have flashed my Qtek (bought in Abu Dhabi) with several versions of roms cooked in kitchens (Jeff's and Stefans's), but I have finally settled with ATT release wm2003 Siemens SX56 upgrade. It comes with most of the bugs fixed (except multiple reset bug) and is quite stable. I almost never have to reset it. You can flash the ROM only by SD card method though. You can try it. It's always a good idea to flash using SD card method. USB method using ProgramA is not very safe. I guess the network in Pakistan is compatible with the one in the UAE, so you can safely use it, if you don't mess up with the Radio Stack. My Radio is 3.23.01 and I have no problems with that.

what about the radio stack upgrade to 1.05 (JAM)

hey all ..
I found an upgrade for the imate JAM radio stack, it suppose to enhance audio quality and signal strength, so i thought what the hell, let's give a try, so i upgraded my JAM from 1.01 to 1.05 and i didn't notice any major differences :
1- Audio quality during calls : maybe 10-20% better than b4, speakephone is gone though, i dunno why, it's not gone completely, actually it's so low that u have to put ur jam to ur ear to hear the other party.
2- I used to get full signal at my home, and 2-3 maximum at work: still the same no differences.
but that's just me and i don't know how to do real tests. so I think u all should try it and give ur opinions, i would have post a link, but i don't know if its legal to do that in this forum, if it's legal give me a good uploading site, it's a 2MB zip file.
the only thing confusing is this upgrade isn't avaliable on I'mate's site or any other site, and the forums i got this upgrade from has deleted all the threads regarding this upgrade
anyways, if anyone tried that, share here. it definitely worth a try.
Where have U found this update?!
Regards,
Primoz
if the speaker phone volume is too low with this 'update' then I guess I will wait for something else :? my speaker phone is doing ok now... wouldn't wan t to mess that up.
Strange, I have done the upgrade, and my radio works fine, even the speakerphone works flawlessly.
So ....
The Magician radiostack 1.05 is part of the Swiss Qtek s100 upgrade. Using it on an i-Mate JAM is simple.
First of all, make sure you have BOTH the i-Mate rom upgrade package and the qtek upgrade package available!!!!
Unpack the Qtek upgrade package manually to a directory and delete the rom and the extended rom files, and run the upgrade with only the radio file .... you will see that suddenly there's no country ID errors
After upgrading your radio stack, you will see that in the process, while upgrading the radio, the rom and extended rom have been erased. Now unpack your i-Mate Jam upgrade package, delete the radio file and run the upgrade. Now, the original rom and extended rom are being put back onto your i-Mate, while skipping the radio upgrade.
Of course, all of this is at your OWN RISK
Where do I get the Qtek Radio Upgrade? Can I install it over the JAM's Radio Ver or not (i.e. after hard-reset and 1st time setup I stop the Ext ROM from installing copy the Qtek 1.05 cab install that, run Ext ROM except imate Radio ver) ?
The Qtek rom:
http://www.qtek.nu/files/MA_Qtek(BrPt)_10600_116_10500_SHIP.zip
The i-Mate ROM:
http://www.clubimate.com/Support/ma_cdlsku1_wwe_10300_143_10100_ship.exe
The steps to take are as I described in my previous list.

I`m a new JAM user and I have`t made an upgrade till now...can U pls tell me which is the files to delete from the Qtek rom?...Is it possible to integrate the 1.05 radio stack in the I-mate rom and then upgrade?
Regards,
Primoz
You have to keep both upgrade packs completely separated, they cannot be mixed due to separate checksums. The instllation program will immediately say the rom checksum is incorrect. So, you have to unpack both rompacks to separate directories, and use the individual files!
For the Qtek rom you need:
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.conf
HTCRUU.dll
MaUpgradeUt.exe
radio_.nbf
and delete:
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
For the i-Mate rom you need:
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.conf
HTCRUU.dll
MaUpgradeUt.exe
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
and delete:
radio_.nbf
Thanks for help man!...I`ll try it later....school is calling  . Does it metter what do I install first?....radio stack or JAM rom?
Regards,
Primoz
My post says it all ... first the Qtek Radio, then the Jam rom and extended rom back onto the Jam.
Wiz, what ROM/extended versions did that process leave you with? My MDA Compact is still:
ROM: 1.01.00 WWE (21/Oct/04!)
Radio: 1.00.10
ExtRom: 1.01.128 WWE
Also, does upgrading the ROM include a camera update? Or do you then have to apply the 103 patch that's floating around?
Thanks
Did you notice any significant improvements with this radio upgrade? My yearning to have the latest and greatest is dampened by my need for stability and fear of no real gain or even some problems.

I-mate WWE to Qtek FR?

Hi,
> Newbie: first post <
First, I want to apologize if that kind of topic had been already posted (sure it has been posted!)
I've bought an I-mate JAM in Dubai and upgraded it with the 1.06 WWE Rom proposed on the Club I-Mate site in March. I decided to change that rom in purpose to have my Jam totaly in french but I don't know how exactly because there's a lot of different roms.
Furthermore, I've tried several times to flash my "precious" with the first Fr rom proposed here but after having done the reset (after doing "d2s 80000000 04000000 in romupdate.exe"), ActiveSync do not recognize the device and I can't continue (must be guest partnership, right?).
Should I downgrade that 1.06WWE rom to an older WWE Rom first?
If not, what is the precise procedure?
Already asked? Just give me the link.
Thank you very much.
PS: 'search' function already done.
No Idea? Still waiting for an advice.
here try this file to upgrade... just place this file inside the extracted ROM of your choice and run it ...... you will get a country ID error... don't mind the error just click ok and run the file again (notice that your device will be in the bootloader mode and you should keep it that way).....
and you will find the ROM you want in the ftp...
hope that helps.....
Thanks Papa Docta,
I had this file but deleted it like a noob...thank you!
So I can download the last Qtek FR rom instead of my actual I-Mate WWE rom, fix the country id with the file, and upgrade...
Seems to be easy...TOO easy? :?
yep... download the ROM u like, doesn't have to be the imate wwe and enjoy......

searching for Proximus ROM for Hermes

Hi All,
I wonder if somebody knows where I can find a rom of Proximus in Belgium.
Hi,
I'm from Belgium also ... why would you like to have that rom? Just install the latest ROM version here available ... I think that's the best ROM you can have ...
Well, I'm also looking for that rom and more specifically for the extrom.
Proximus added some special items in that extrom which I would like to have :
The mobile TV player (and I guess you also need the certificates), a custom version of MMS composer and a cab file which sets all connection settings, etc.
So if anybody has that rom (or ExtRom), please post it here.
Regards,
Bendalf
UP!!
Anybody can HELP with that?
Up I'm really interested in that too...
In fact I want to try upgrade to WM6 but I also want to be able to put the phone back to it's original state.
I don't know if it's really possible cause I have to update all software parts...
The reason is for warranty...
Guys,
Don't know exactly what part of the ext rom you're referring to? I bought a regular Dutch TyTn and have been flashing and reflashing and reflashing again From WM5 to 6 and back again, changing SPL in between and even started a little cooking of my own.
Most of the cooked roms work (very) well, but if you really want to make sure, you need to dump your original rom first before you flash a new one. (read the wiki and all the threads you can find first)
Anyway, I hope you have as much fun as me discovering how to customize your hermes and make it do what you want, how you want it and more important, make it do what you want it to do.
Grtz.
Hi aeroke,
Thank for your answer.
In fact, I'm just waiting to be sure that I can if needed (ie: hardware problem that need warranty) I can restore the phone to the exact original state to avoid any warranty problem.
So tell me if I'm wrong but full original state is:
- original IPL
- original SPL
- original radio rom
- original rom
- original extended rom
For now, I try to find each "original pieces" before upgrading
- for extended rom: I unhide it and simply copy/paste content of "Extended_rom" folder to my computer. Is it the right way ?
- for rom: I find a tutorial on the wiki and I'll follow it this evening, I hope I can do that
- for radio rom, IPL, SPL: for now, I don't know if it's possible to get (by dumping or downloading) the original ones and restore them after
I write all the informations I found in my phone for the original versions, here there are:
HERM200
IPL-1.00
HERM200
SPL-1.04
version ROM: 1.18.256.2
Date ROM: 07/2/06
version Radio: 1.03.03.10
version de Protocole: 32.34.7010.01H
version ROM Extended: 1.18.256.9643
So, as soon I'll be sure that I can roll back to the original state, I'll upgrade to the WM6 schaps version by following the vanx guide.
I found a guide for backing up and restore the TyTN by dumping the ROM just here. But I never found any guide to restore SPL, radio ROM, IPL...
I'll be happy to have any informations about that.
Thank you in advance
Don't worry about the warranty, i bricked my Hermes once (only after that i found out how to do it right ) and it was repaired with no extra costs. So i wouldn't worry to much about it.
Just go ahead and flash that thingy. Btw, the Black Satin (JJ) together with radio 1.47.00.10 works perfectly with Proximus.
Thanks for your response, I'll look about Black Satin.
Just another question, is there any incompatibility with any WM6 and Extended_Rom software provided by Proximus ?
I haven't used any software from Proximus untill now, bought my Hermes with standard WM5 and flipped in my Proximus SIM card. The software you find here on the forums do everything that you can imagine, so there is really no need for special proximus software i guess.
As far as I can tell, the IPLdoesn't change normally, but the SPL does change. Anyway no worries as you can restore your original SPL (I still have the 1.04 somewhere)
The radio rom can always be flashed back with the original duth rom you find here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
This rom also reflashes your IPL and SPL back.
As far as compatibility between the WM6 roms and Proximus soft goes, I don't know, but I can't imagne you need more/other soft than you find available right here.
EDIT: This is only my personal opinion, but I think I tried about al the WM6 roms and find the one from Schaps the most stable one, perhaps not the most graphicaly exciting one, but the most stable one.
Grtz
Settings Proximus
Hi, I'm also on Proximus here in Belgium. Has anyone found an Ext_rom yet from this provider? Or maybe any ideas when they will launch their wm6 version?
I haven't got the settings for proximus. Any help?
Tnx in advance
Hi,
I have one Hermes from their "Proximus Collection" so I have a Proximus Ext ROM on it. I can do a Backup of it and upload it to the xda wiki. (I'll do that this evening if I can).
I don't know if Proximus will provide an upgrade to WM6...
Thanks Genyam for your help.
Can you tell us the rom version you have ?

Would that work with WM6?
I don't know if it works with WM6 but as this is only a set of CAB files, I suppose that they are compatible.
I've already created and uploaded to xda ftp a dump of my ROM.
My infos:
ROM: 1.18.256.2
Date ROM: 07/2/06
Radio: 1.03.03.10
Protocol: 32.34.7010.01H
Extended ROM: 1.18.256.9643
The CID for the Proximus Hermes: QTEK_203
OK thnx, grabbin it right now. Is it French only?
The dump that is already uploaded is for ROM, not Ext_ROM, I'll put my Ext_ROM this evening.
I suppose that it's not french only cause when I hard reset my Hermes it's in Dutch.
yeah thnx i noticed. Np, i'll grab it tonight then.
The Extended Rom is added to this wiki page: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtendedRoms
This is the first of the page

how to flash any ROM to CID locked artemis

1. download ROM you'd like to flash
2. download dutty's good NBHTool
3. download upgrade tool
4. run nbhtool and extract windows.nb from nbh file that came with ROM
5.run upgraderom.bat and keep fingers crossed
6. do hardreset and enjoy
it should work with any ROM, but it upgrades only OS, not radio, ipl spl...
You must have async connection.(dont work thru bootloader)
Hi Are u sure this works..cos I hv tried several times on MDA compact III with no success at all, all the PDAMobiz versions
it worked with t-mo compact3 dutch v. to dopod shipped. try any other rom except pdamobiz. they are crap & helluva lot of people bricked pda with it
It really works

I have a simlocked ROM on my Artemis (orange).
does this remove the simlock ?
PHONNY: dream again, if it'll be capable of SIMunlock i'll sell it for £1. no unfortunately it doesnt, it only hardcopy os image.it doesnt remove any locks, pwds.... so it can help ie if u buy orbit thru ebay with ?spanish? rom to put there english.....
nothing else. im sorry im not buzz_lightyear, or others. i only compiled something from other sources and explained it
I have upgraded to pdamobiz but would like to try another rom...will it work for me?
Thanks,
It works to me perfectly. Thanks very much.

Also have PDAMobiz powermap 1.1.2 ROM installed on my HTC P3300 but would like a little cleaner ROM. As my device is locked and if this is method is really working, even at least for OS only, I have few questions:
1. Which English ROM is there that I can try and that is atleast AKU 3.01. Newer will be better.
2. ROM supports everything P3300 does - wifi + gps + .....
BTW, if I'll extract the windows.nb from nbh file, whats up with Extended ROM then .... as I understand it wont be included .... am I right. Best option then will be ..... ?
Tnx.
2 cosX: Asi ano ked to mam napisane v profile

1. READ WIKI - there are desc. of all ROMs avialable, including AKU versions
2. as above (it means as i remember only t-mo ROMs dont support WiFi - but even t-mo hw so if u have t-mo com.III forget WiFi /except for tmo NE i think)
btw. there will be no extrom, but U can extract all files from extrom thru winimage or so again read wiki
Tnx for your kind reply.

Tried it on my compact III using the extracted file from the shipped DOPOD rom.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks.

The best way is to hard reset your device before upgrading it.

It means just what it says, that you should keep your fingers crossed while upgrading. Personally, I allways put my left sock on before the right one, too.
Sorry, pun aside, it is just an English expression meaning 'lets hope for the best'. If you are not supersticious, then don't bother.
