SP3 hard reset ? - HTC Typhoon

Hi,
Those familiar with the XDA PDA's, now that you can perform a hard reset by pressing the power button, aswell as sticking the stylus up the bottom ( does that sound funny to you ).
is there a way to perform a physical hard reset with the SP3 , other than going through the accessories menu and choosing "clear storage" ?
is there a particular combination of buttons to push that will do this ?

i discovered how to do this.
just incase otheres want to know, here's how:
take battery out of the SP3.
put battery back in.
hold both soft keys (just below display).
press power on button for .5 seconds.
then release ( the above timing is important)
the display will then read
"Press 0 to restore factory default, other key to quit"
press 0, and your smartphone will rebuild itself and load the factory default settings

how to do hardreset??

how to do hardreset??
I was going to say RTFM but amazingly enough this is not mentioned in the FM...
One way is to press and hold the Camera and Comm Manager buttons simultaneously and then press the Reset button (through the small hole at the bottom of the phone.
Another way is Settings -> System -> Clear Storage.
Before you do this, keep in mind that Hard Reset will wipe all your installed applications and data. Make sure that you have a good backup before proceeding!!!!

I tried this numerous times but instead of hard reset the soft one occured...
EDIT---> It does work indeed!!
Actually, abubasim just forgot one miner detail:
It's camera + comm manager + power, hold those 3 and soft reset. A black screen should come up saying: "press send to restore defaults". Press the green phone button to complete hard reset or any other button to cancel.

Device reliabilty / reboots

Hi,
For the people who have received their HD (mine is on preorder at the mo.), how are you finding the reliability of the phone. My Hemres and Kaiser left a lot to be desired needing a soft reset every day or so to keep them working properly.
Strange things start to happen to them after a few days, for example notifications for email and incoming calls would stop working, the clock on the today screen would stop displaying all the digits. Oh yeah, same thing happened after a hard reset and different firmware versions.
Thanks,
Mike.
I have the HTC Touch HD a few day's now and i only need it to soft reset because Windows Live (Messenger) was f*cking around and could not stop it.
I'm sure this would relate to what ROM you're using. The stock ones have always been problematic. But build the right custom one and you should only need a restart once a month or less.
no need of reboots after many days of trials. The red button is the only one i didn't try yet!
Do you guys know how to hard-reset this device manually...I mean using the buttons..?
Hard-Reset using Windows OS option I know...but how to hard-reset this device manually?
Nara: There's a button next to the MicroSD slot for resetting, I guess that'll do.
According to HTC's site the following procedure is also for full reset:
Code:
How do I perform a hard reset?
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
On Topic, I've had mine since last monday, and haven't had to soft or hard reset it even once.
Only soft reset I had to do was on purpouse to apply some tweaks.
it is not noticeable if one leaves windows xp/vista on for a a day+ that it becomes sluggish? well, windows in general need to be reset once a day to work properly ie..win xp/vista, so the same routine is especially applicable to windows mobile.
Blackstone SIM card?
Does it take a SIM card. Obviously I live in the US & have AT&T. I can't find any information anywhere that says it does or doesn't take one. & do I want the VAT? Don't know what that is but it definitely costs more money.

Hi!
My only problem is the screen with the clock, has changed and now has a silhouette of the woman you would use for a blank contact, and the clock has changed to a small clock with thin numbers.
Changing things in settings, today, doe not help.
I will do a soft reset in a few minutes.

How to perform a factory reset?

Hey people, Just started setting up my HTC HD2 when i came to the last page of the setup and pressed "finish" the device locked up and crashed :-(
Then when i put the phone back on none of the settings i had set worked and the setup option was no longer there it just went straight through to the UI.
What do i do to pretend it never happened as if im starting again?
Hard reset:
Hold "volume up + volume down and press soft reset button" (all together)
Soft reset button is under battery cover
With the HD2 switched off, press Volume down + Volume up and then briefly press send end key. The bootloader should appear.
To perform a clear storage.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap Security > Factory reset.
2. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
so which method is right? lol
both, one is via GUI (windows screen) the other is manual/mechanical way

Problems with hardreset on Touch2 :-(

A hardreset as described in the owners manual does not work ! Has anybody got an idea what to do ?
The reason why I want to make a HR is the following : after 2 weeks it happened, that sending an sms an error-msg pops up saying the "addressee is not known, sending anyway ?" This drives me crazy ! And I hope that a HR will solve this!
