i have an old phone that i forgot my password so i try to factory reset by pressing home button and volum down button. But when i try to wipe data, it need password to decrypt storage

no that would just soft reset. I want to erase all contents and restore to factory settimgs...
OK sorry, fount it. You need to go into fastboot (power off then hold power and trackball), then select bootloader and clear storage.
You can also go into Settings -> Privacy. There is an option to do a Factory Data Reset

I have installedAndroid 4.1 jelly bean - Cygon mod - on HD2 and have put the login screen password. Now, to save my life, I can't remember it.
I held Volume Up and Power button and went into Main Menu and have selected - Factory/Hard Reset - it asks to confirm the hard rest and goes back to Main Menu.
Yet, it seems that nothing happened as Login password is still there and phone is showing correct time and some reminders - so it looks that factory reset did not work.
I tried hard reset option in the Main Menu few time - but to no awail!
My phone is backed up , so I don't mind doing the hard reset
Can anyone pleeeeaaaaaseeeee help me!

You should enter Recovery and wipe data/factory reset.

I had setup guest mode just to see what it is but then forgot password, yesterday i gave my phone to kid and somehow he ended up enabling guest mode. Now i dont know the password, so if there anyway of resetting it? (other than factory reset?)

it happened to me, only way is to reset it to factory setting...after reset guest mode will go away.

Factory Reset your phone from recovery. This will unlock your phone but will delete all apps and app data.
To go to recovery: press and hold power button and volume Up button simultaneously for 15 - 20 seconds. A menu will appear. There should be an option saying wipe data. Scroll through the lost using volume buttons as up and down and press power button to select the option. Your phone will boot up as new.

According to OP this is the procedure, but when i press power and volume down I'm greeted with a qwerty keyboard at the bottom of the screen and the words forget password ? What the hell is this, that's what happens when i go to standard recovery mode, there is no wipe partition it just goes to the keyboard? Am i missing something here? This is the procedure I've with all past phones.

First: we’d like to know if clearing the cache from recovery could be helpful?
1. Turn the phone off.
2. Hold Power and Volume Down
3. English (or pick any language that you want)
4. Wipe data & cache
5. Wipe cache
6. Yes
7. Reboot

It doesn't exist, when i go to fastboot i get this menu, and then when i go to recovery I get a virtual keyboard on screen, see images, there is no format cache option.

It wants your password or pin. For me it showed the pattern screen with "Forgot password?". I entered my usual pattern and got the menu as described.

hello there, i have flashed Official marshmallow ROM, from stock Lollipop build # ALE-AL21C185B188 to ALE-AL21C185B525, I just did hard reset, but now earlier it was doing OK, but now its screen start flickering right from the first boot after Reset... I don't know what went Wrong, yes I did wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache & System.... Does any have any solution.

Try downloading MM full-ota from Huawei site, extract it and put update.app on sdcard/dload (if there isn't a folder called dload, create it); shut down your phone and boot it long pressing power button (but stop pressing when screen powers up) and both volume + and volume - until it vibrates. It will reset your phone and solve that problem.
If it doesn't work, send me a photo of what happens
