Sunday Time and otber apps now asking for passwords New HD 10 11th Gen - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a subscription to the Times and Sunday Times which worked fine on the three fire HD 10 9th generation. One of these would not charge up so I got a new tablet, which is an HD 10 11th gen. The Times app now requires a login but the app never came with a login user id and password, and my amazon user id and password do not work either.
Other amazon users have reported this but has been no solutions given on the amazon forums. https://uk.amazonforum.com/s/question/0D56Q00009prVWhSAM/times-newspaper-app-login-problems
I do not know much about these things but I wonder if I can transfer all my Times app data from another family HD 10 (9th gen) via Toolbox and a PC to my new HD 10 (11th gen) -and it transfer my automatic login credentials to my new device.
How to do this, or solve the Times app problem welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Heather.

[SOLVED] Kindle Registration in CM7

I am unable to get my Kindle Fire to register in CM7. I've installed the com.amazon.dcp.apk as well as myaccount-unsigned.apk. It keeps saying failed to register. These apk's work fine on my Moto Photon. Any ideas? I've been reading of MAC address and serial number issues with CM7 roms, could these issues be at fault? Do i need to fake an IMEI?
-edit- SOLVED
After trying a number of fixes i was able to get CM7 to register with Amazon. I had to change the build.prop to something other than Kindle Fire. Ended up using this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423184
Now to figure out why Amazon VOD wont let me watch anything even though i am unrooted.
Seems there are poeple with cm7 using fire specific apps that require this registration (wired app for example). This is a deal breaker for me.

[Q] Big Wifi Mystery

I recently traveled from Rio de Janeiro to Belo Horizonte and back to Rio. I was gone from Mar 30th to April 4th. I powered my home wireless router off as we were leaving. I traveled with my wife. We both have Nexus 4’s and Nexus 7’s (all the devices are stock). Both were working fine before we left on the trip and we both used them a lot while we were in Belo Horizonte. We mostly used wifi at a relative’s house while there and I occasionally used HSPA while we traveled around town. I also used HSPA as we traveled by bus to check our location as we traveled (both coming and going). I also downloaded several apps on wifi at a relative’s urging (local Brazilian apps from the Play Store).
Now the mystery begins…
When we arrived back home I powered my router (Linksys RA6500) back on. I was not able to go online (either with my browsers or any apps) with either my Nexus 7 or Nexus 4 (error 130 net::ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED). My wife had no problem at all with either of her devices. If I used my U.S. vpn I was able to use both devices normally. I searched this forum for an answer but was unable to find any answer. The next day I called Google Support and talked to probably the dumbest tech support person in the world. His only advice was to uninstall the programs I had installed while traveling (gee, I wish I had thought of that) which I had already done. I also cleared the data and cache from my three browsers. After many reboots without solving the problem I decided to do a factory reset on my Nexus 7. Not knowing any better I decided to let the Google restore the apps to my phone. Well it worked and I had internet access through wifi… for about 30 seconds. I tried several more times with the same results. I then did a reset and unchecked all the backup and restore options and at last was successful. I now have a fully functioning Nexus 7. I thought I would wait a day or so to do the same to the Nexus 4.
Now the mystery deepens…
The following day we went to lunch in Rio and while in the restaurant, I went to use my Nexus 4 and discovered that I was able to go online and use apps that required being online. I thought maybe it cured itself. When I got to my apt I was still unable to get online. My first thought was it must be my router (but, why does my wife’s phone and tablet work). I decided to do a factory reset on the router and manually do the setup instead of using the Linksys installation program. Still no luck. My Nexus 4 will not use my home wifi unless I’m using my vpn.
I am hoping that someone out there in XDA land will recognize what the problem is and help me solve my dilemma without having to reset the phone.
Any news yet?
By the way, can you still use other apps like email, youtube or facebook? I'm having quite a similar problem. See: http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/489087

NETFLIX error message 'Sorry We Cannot Reach The Netflix Service (-9)' HD10 2019

My hd fire 10 is showing the following message, every time I try to enter the Netflix app: 'Sorry We Cannot Reach The Netflix Service (-9)'.
My device does not have root and the netflix was working normal in the last weeks ...
I tried to clear the cache, reinstall the app, connect to other wifi networks ...
Someone is also having this problem or knows how to solve it?
Responded in another thread on the same topic. Basically, what I did was to uninstall the Google APKs (Framework/Play store ... etc) in order for Netflix to work again. I haven't re-installed those files back yet, so not sure if Netflix will continue to work afterwards.
I also use LauncherHijack, and that continues to work, even though there is a 4,5 seconds delay after touching the Home button.

You can install Netflix using Fire toolbox: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/development/official-amazon-fire-toolbox-v1-0-t3889604
FWIW -- I just updated to version 7.48.0 dated 03/16/20 via Amazon App store -- the updated version seems to work fine.

WPA3 Support?

I'm sending an Android Tablet to a friend overseas and their wi-fi network is set to WPA3 security. They do not control/have access to their wi-fi access points. Can anyone help me confirm that the Onn tablets have support for WPA3? I'm trying to figure it out without have to purchase one. I was initially going to send a 2021 Fire 10 tablet, but even the newest Fire 10 model doesn't support WPA3 (I found out after buying one).
