2 questions about Vibration and Volume

Hello
I searched for a answer on the forum but did not find anything. Sorry if I missed it...
So my questions are :
1°) Is there a way to set up the duration of the connect vibration when phone connection is established ? I find it way too long. I'd like to have a very short vibration
2°) regarding the volume buttons, is there a way to have this kind of behaviour : when I press the up or down volume button, it just makes the volume screen appear, but donw not change the level of the setting bar. I would have to push another time to start modifying volume level.
thanks for your help gents.
1. No idea
2. My volume button is already set like this by default. I press it once and the volume screen appears but doesnt adjust the actual level. I'm on the latest official ROM
1. Check out this thread. It is about changing vibration pattern for when phone rings, but it might point you in the right direction. The real fun starts at post #16.
2. My volume button does that. Duttys 3.7 XT ROM with Manila 2.1

Can I change the sound volume by smaller increment?

Hi,
When I press the volume rocker, the volume increased by a large percentage each time I press it.
I realise that some music players have the ability to change the volume by smaller increment, but wonder if there is a cab file somewhere that enables this capability system wide. Or is there a hidden tweaks somewhere?
I like the cool music player in TF3D and do not wish to use a third party software to play music.
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
i hope to change lesser too
yes i remember coming across some 3rd party applications that can tweak the volume, but i honestly forgot where.... if i find anything i will get back to you.
meanwhile, after prompting the volume menu by pressing the rocker buttons, you can select a smaller increment in sound level, by simply taping of the meter using the stylus.
volume increments
I thought super, i can adjust volume lower! Not, mine moves the same by tapping or using rocker.? unless I'm doing something wrong? Help
This is a really annoying issue... Luckily, you can adjust the volume in smaller increments using the buttons whenever the screen is turned off!
volume
Sorry, i'm new, but when i turn my screen off, my music stops? then when i touch vol. rocker it lites up, & plays. sorry for newbie problem,

Have you found the cab yet?
When the sound volume screen appear, how do you adjust by a smaller increment? I thought whether you use the volume rocker or the screen the degree of change is exactly the same?

The music only keeps playing when headphones are plugged in! (Atleast it should... if it doesn't, what ROM are you using?)
i'm sorry couldn't find the cab, ur best bet is changing the volume from within a music player, i hear corplayer is good....
on my device i tap the volume bar using the stylus and that gives me the smaller increments in sound level.
Try tapping the screen instead of using the pysical buttons on the side. You can change the volume by one bar instead of the 4/5 bars everytime you press the button.

Alternate Volume Control - Soft Key

HD2 is a masterpiece but as with all masterpieces, there are some setbacks if one of the things do not work.
I dropped my HD2 and the volume key (hard key on the left) stopped working. That means....
THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL, I CAN CHANGE THE IN-CALL VOLUME!!!
The system volume and ringtone has nothing to do with it. Even if the system volume is reduced, the in-call volume (voice of the other person) remains unchanged.
Is there any way i can have a soft button or soft key or any alternate to incall volume hard button?
I am in a serious mess, so help will be REALLLLLLLYYYYYY APPPRECIATED
You can download and install Audio Manager (Free at Market) . It has a feature that allows you to change in-call volume without the need to be in a real call, unfortunately though I don't think you can change it while in call
i don't have an answer for the original question, but i would just like to advise the OP that volume keys not working is really a messed up situation because you will also be UNABLE to access bootloader or the hard reset option.
jumping to bootloader and hard reset CAN be done by booting into WinMo. there is an icon in the start menu->settings called "Clear Data" that will do hard reset. and there is a small program available somewhere (don't remember the name) that will reboot into the bootloader.
the interesting question is, what do you do if your WinMo stops being able to boot the day you need the hard reset or bootloader?
The irony is my call volume is at maximum.
Is there any way I mean ANY WAY i can reduce the call volume without the volume rocker buttons?
I mean any registry tweaks or something?
I tried the HKCU --- control panel----sounds profiles---incall volume tweak but that did not work.
I am stuck...I really need help

[FYI] A realization when doing some of the mods

Some of you have probably seen some of the mods in the Hero Development forum and have applied them. One thing that I have noticed, or that I thought was a really cool mod was removing the end call button from the screen - mainly because it can hang up an important call if you face dial (not a problem I currently have, but the 1 time it happens can be devastating)...another mod that is really cool is remapping the hard keys (menu, search, back, home, vol up and down). I have already utilized the mod to allow my search button to control play/pause of media files without waking the phone up.
To the point: Yesterday, I was looking through the remap mod to find out if there is a way to map actions to hard-press buttons, in looking for that, I found that there is an option for Power. Now, as many of you know, the Hero does not have a power button to turn the screen off when in a phone call - that is what the Power option does - turns the screen off WITHOUT hanging up on the person you are talking to. Now, the only way to end the call is to press the End Call button on the dialer...kind of hard to do if you removed the button LOL...so for anyone doing mods, save your work, you never know when you will have to go back...I deleted the backup files because I thought I was done with modding the dialer/phone.
Hope this helps someone.

Yup, nandroid FTW. Curious, did you get it fixed? Or are you also asking for assistance?
Havent fixed it yet, though I could just send the keylayout undoing the power button for now. In the end, I will have to add the end call button back because I am really liking the ability to turn the screen off without hanging up. I just cant remember what I did to do the mod, if I actually removed lines of code or commented them out. It is JsChiSurfs mod, but because the files posted were old, I edited my file with his method...looks like it is apktool time.
Edit: I should point out that with the mod, pressing the end call button on the dialer isnt the ONLY way, even though I said it was. You could also reboot the whole phone - currently what I have to do now for those that dont terminate the call. JOY!
Oh my!!!!! I always wanted to find a way to turn off the screen while on a call. Please, please, please find out how you did it.
The thread by Decad3nce is Here. You basically change
Code:
key 107 ENDCALL WAKE_DROPPED
to
Code:
key 107 POWER WAKE_DROPPED
Hell yeah!!!! That's what I'm talking about.

[Q] Disable ringer state change

Is it possible to prevent the volume buttons from changing my ringer state from vibrate with a rooted I337? I'm looking for something verified, I don't want to risk study brick. Search returns nothing. I'd still like the volume buttons to work normally for apps.
Thanks
