2 questions about Vibration and Volume - Touch HD General

Hello
I searched for a answer on the forum but did not find anything. Sorry if I missed it...
So my questions are :
1°) Is there a way to set up the duration of the connect vibration when phone connection is established ? I find it way too long. I'd like to have a very short vibration
2°) regarding the volume buttons, is there a way to have this kind of behaviour : when I press the up or down volume button, it just makes the volume screen appear, but donw not change the level of the setting bar. I would have to push another time to start modifying volume level.
thanks for your help gents.

1. No idea
2. My volume button is already set like this by default. I press it once and the volume screen appears but doesnt adjust the actual level. I'm on the latest official ROM

1. Check out this thread. It is about changing vibration pattern for when phone rings, but it might point you in the right direction. The real fun starts at post #16.
2. My volume button does that. Duttys 3.7 XT ROM with Manila 2.1

Volume button frustration & text alerts

Hi all,
I've had my touch hd for a few days now and overall im very hapy with it but the volume button on the side is driving me mad. It's very large and very sensitive so im constantly pressing it. Can it be disabled any way?
On another note im having a minor issue with sms alerts in touchflo. sometimes when I get a new message and have read it in touchflo the green '1' will stay indicating that I have an unread message until I go into my actual inbox and have opened it in there. Again, any advice appreciated

Yes. Install AEBplus. Then, configure the single press of volume buttons to something like Up and Down Arrow Key, and Double Press to Volume Up and Down.
It this way, when you touch the rocker, it meanly send an up arrow signal, which for most situation is not going to do anything. When you really want to change volume, double press it. Alternatively, you could configure long press to change volume.
With this setting, you will be able to change your music track and radio channel too, as the Up Down arrow keys are those players use to change track/channel.
Yes, the volumn buttons are very sensitive, so AEB+ is a must to install!
I use D810 for over 2 years, and scroll wheel is very handy to me, so I just config volumn buttons in HD to be up & down button. It can help some, but not all.......
Aside from the rocker volume being touched accidentally, the green phone button can also be touched accidentally. If you do it twice, it makes a call without you even knowing.
So, I do the same. Single press will start my AgePhone, double press for normal phone. In this way, the phone does not dial out unless I want it do.
Yep, AEB plus will be your answer. You can also configure this to do nothing on single press and then volume up/down on double, triple or long press.

muting :-(

Hi Guys,
this issue has been driving me slightly mad, tried searching with no luck, hopefully someone can help.
basically when i get an incoming call a) the flip phone over does not mute call, b) pressing the mute button on the incoming call screen does not work.
Now this used to work, and i have no idea what changed to cause it to stop.
i have checked the following :
regsitry - FaceDownMuteRing set to 1
HD Tweak tool - mute call is enabled
S2u2 - i have all phone settings off (callerID section set to off)
Now i do have AEbuttons installed which is probably the last thing i installed, on this i have mapped several buttons to the volume keys. Cant see this been an issue though.
Also, another issue which has developed is my backlight settings keep reverting back to timeout after 10 seconds everytime i reboot the device, could this be related.
any help will be much appriciated,
thanks

Had the same problem. And exactly the same possible culprit. Thus, I decided to try restoring the volume keys to their default mappings in AEB, and alas, now the muting works when I press the mute button or face the phone down.
On the other hand, if you really need to map the volume buttons, I also discovered that while the mute button or facing the phone down would not mute the phone while it is ringing, pressing the volume down button will (assuming that it is not mapped in AEB).
Hope that helped!

Volume Icon

Is there any setting in Touch2 where in we can click on the volume icon & change the volume without using the volume key
For touch2 we can only change the volume using the volume key, i would like to change the volume using the volume icon just like in WinMo 6, 6.1
I don't get this at all. . . using the buttons on the side of the phone is the easiest way to adjust volume, period.
If the 15 levels of selectable volume via volume keys dont meet the accurate reqirements (i'm quite partial to having no more nor less than 73% myself),
you can always slide over to Settings > Sounds
you can then adjust volume from 0% to 100% for the rings & system seperately.
Hi Weznezz,
I am happy using the volume keys, but i would also like to know if there is any possibility of using the volume icon, to change the volume from the screen.
In previous WM builts you could do that indeed which I also liked......for some reason they took it away......
Will search and when I find something report back....
Hi Frank,
Thank you very much for understanding my request. Will be waiting for your response.

Alternate Volume Control - Soft Key

HD2 is a masterpiece but as with all masterpieces, there are some setbacks if one of the things do not work.
I dropped my HD2 and the volume key (hard key on the left) stopped working. That means....
THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL, I CAN CHANGE THE IN-CALL VOLUME!!!
The system volume and ringtone has nothing to do with it. Even if the system volume is reduced, the in-call volume (voice of the other person) remains unchanged.
Is there any way i can have a soft button or soft key or any alternate to incall volume hard button?
I am in a serious mess, so help will be REALLLLLLLYYYYYY APPPRECIATED
You can download and install Audio Manager (Free at Market) . It has a feature that allows you to change in-call volume without the need to be in a real call, unfortunately though I don't think you can change it while in call
i don't have an answer for the original question, but i would just like to advise the OP that volume keys not working is really a messed up situation because you will also be UNABLE to access bootloader or the hard reset option.
jumping to bootloader and hard reset CAN be done by booting into WinMo. there is an icon in the start menu->settings called "Clear Data" that will do hard reset. and there is a small program available somewhere (don't remember the name) that will reboot into the bootloader.
the interesting question is, what do you do if your WinMo stops being able to boot the day you need the hard reset or bootloader?
The irony is my call volume is at maximum.
Is there any way I mean ANY WAY i can reduce the call volume without the volume rocker buttons?
I mean any registry tweaks or something?
I tried the HKCU --- control panel----sounds profiles---incall volume tweak but that did not work.
I am stuck...I really need help

[Q] Volume buttons turn screen on

Hello all,
I have recently done an upgrade to WM6.5 (Energy ROM) and now, when listening to music in PocketMusic 5.3.5, screen turns on by pressing the volume buttons to change volume, and the "ding" sound is played as when changing the volume manually. Also the Manila screen for changing volume is displayed and I have to cancel it. In stock WM6.1 it just changed the volume and screen stayed off. I have already tried playing with PocketMusic settings (like using system volume enabled/disabled, or key compatibility mode) and nothing helped.
I don't know if this is an issue with WM6.5 itself or with the particular ROM so I posted my question here (hopefully ok).
I liked to have the phone in my pocket and change volume just using my hand without taking the phone out. Well, those are the small annoyances that get me, but maybe someone has an idea or fix here, please? I already searched (on google and on these forums as well) but that didn't yield any results...

you should try to re-mapping volume buttons with AEB Plus
Thank you for your reply.
I have installed the app but I am afraid it cannot do what I want.
I don't want to remap volume keys permanently - I still want to control the volume as it is now - but only when the screen is on. When screen is off, volume should be changed "on background" - without the ding sound and without turning the screen on. Hopefully I explained it right. Any more suggestions, please?
