Question Dolby Atmos - Nothing Phone 1

Hi there everyone!
Seems like that the Nothing Phone team forgot to add Dolby Atmos to the phone. This is feature that most basic phones nowadays have.
I am just wondering if they could to add it via a software update!?

Did Nothing promise Dolby Atmos support?
From what i know, i don't think they did, and its not about the budget, it's about the licensing, and i dont think Nothing did that. So i dont think dolby would be on abra, unless you root and put on the mod

If you want & need Dolby Atmos and if you are rooted, can I suggest you to follow this process here from @Pho3nX
Don't forget that It's just a solution, if you want to test it, can post your feedback here.

i recommend this app based solution to atleast increase the soundquality first instead of increased spatialisation simulation from dolby atmos, for those that don't want to flash. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...the-nothing-phone-1-speakers-tenfold.4484165/

dsp manager

can someone tell me where to get dsp manager? do they have a site for it or what? i have used it in previous roms and its great but now im running the savaged-zen (mod) rom and they don't have it and my techno collection doesn't sound the same haha. i have tryed a few versions from peoples signatures on other forums but they either distort the sound in a funky way or they dont have the bass boost option (which i need). so if someone can give me a link to where i can get it or just get me the apk from cm7 or something i would greatly appreciate it.

Anyone working on audio tweaks?

I hope so! With a few tweaks, I think the headphone audio could be a superstar. It is good now, but there seem to have been some s/w decisions made by LG which could be improved upon.
I saw this

Might help until some tweaks come out
this is the stuff....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
i hope someone figures out how to disable the compressor/limiter that's built into the external speaker..ugh so annoying.

This looks like eq and effects. I am hoping for something to give us access to change some of the kernel/DAC level choices made by LG.

this looks like it simply adjusts the gain. in the software somewhere, there's a built in compressor/limiter that needs to be turned off, but i have no idea where to look for that.

Until we get DAC-level tweaks, this is an awesome modification to try. If sound quality matters to you at all, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. :good:

Le Max 2 have Learning Remote. OMG!!!

I just realise Max 2 have Learning Remote. This is crazy. For USD200 and come with universal learning remote + 6gb ram + 64gb UFS2.0 + 2K screen, the feature is getting better !!!
This is old news man... It's a nice feature btw, maybe it'll be used, maybe not, but the price is very good for the specs.

Seriously, I don't think that having a remote, learning or not, is the most important thing in a cell phone. In the case of Le Max 2, I'd gladly trade the remote for a working fingerprint, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. That said, having a remote with a learning function in a smartphone is a neat feature.

It is a nice feature, if it had no troubles with fingerprint it would be much more expensive. And you can fix it like for 10$ (7$ on aliexpress) and some skill like I did.
This is part of LeEco's ecosystem. They used to make Smart TVs.
The downside is that regular IR control apps does not works unless you install the Xposed module, which works only on Marshmallow.

That's a pity. Maybe it's time to notify the developer, to see if he can make the module work on Android N. Maybe he's already aware of it, but you never know

s9 rom port

I assume all of you know the galaxy s9 is released, and it has brought some cool features. I'm asking myself, would it be possible to port the s9 rom to s8? It would bring some nice features, like slow mo background, ar emoji(i think), intelligent scan(i think) , enhanced camera app and a lot more. Please give your opinion of that and if it would be possible to have those features on our still fantastic device! Anyone who think he can do this??

Someone will probably will once the firmware drops, nor everything can be ported though as our hardware might not support it, we'll see how things go

are there so much hardware differences? other than the back camera and the normal stuff, there aren't many things changed. Intelligent scan must be portable. maybe samsung will release it for s8 with android p, who knows?? I'm just thinking, would treble give some problems, since s9 has ot and s8 doesn't?

Stuff like intelliscan will be fine, but the s9 has extra sensors on the front aswell, but you know we have good devs, may be they'll be able to port the stuff over

it does? i didn't hear anything about that?
So far, as I know, the features S9 has is related to hardware (like, aperture changes for camera) and also sensor that makes samsung-style animoji available. So, fingers crossed.
Besides it, I think everything already got covered up on S8 & S8+.

In the latest Oreo beta for 950U (CRB8), there is actually a package called intelligentscan. I assume it will eventually be activated, if it is not already.

Porting the OOS camera to custom ROMs.

Hi all,
Have jumped ship a few times to custom ROMs and have came back each time due to limitations of the cameras.
Yes there is Gcam. However the video isn't right. Slow motion is non existent (at least to the level that you'd call usable)
Third party apps don't seem to cut it either.
The Nokia APK does a great job at stills and video but again no slow motion and you cannot use 48MP.
So my question...
Does anyone know what is required to in normal circumstances, get the OnePlus camera to run?
Libs and framwork, etc? And can we obtain them in some way? To give them a whirl against a custom ROM? Even if it's just partial functionality, it would give us a starting point.
Cheers
My previous OnePlus phones never has successful story about this too.
May be some Devs know why this is not possible.

I'd never say impossible, just think that the ever changing firmware and updates to ROMs may cause too much grief, plus because (I think) that the framework is required it may be a pain in the backside
There is an awesome dev called @AEonAX in Xiaomi devices. S/he managed to port stock Xiaomi camera to custom AOSP based ROMs. Maybe s/he can figure out the things if has a chance/free time to do that.

I saw you mentioned about the Nokia Cam. Is that works on live bokeh? If yes, could you please tell me what is the cam version?
Thanks

It was a link on XDA, haven't got the APK no more as I didn't need it anymore.

No worries man, not you're responsibility..
It's definitely needed but without a device I'd imagine it'd be a colossal ballache.
If you were interested in giving it a whirl and needed testers..
I think I and many many others would be more than happy to assist.
PS: I say this with no idea of what's involved, so please don't judge me.
I think even with the volume of people now currently using the device, a bounty might even be a real possibility.
Dunno?
Anyway thanks for reading and reaching out all the same.
This is one of those things that stops me from leaving OOS on my OP8Pro.
OnePlus should release the Camera app on play store, like Google does. The gcam from play store just works on Pixel devices with LOS18.1 without any glitches.

Yea could be good.
Usually people pledge money to get it done.. then pay up then it's fulfilled
If 50 people pledge a few quid each then there's a few hundred £££s to get it done.
Only issue I can foresee would be the terms of maintaining it .
I'm not sure if it works for one it'll work for another.
