Same problem when I use 5ghz band setting it to 2.4ghz works.

I had the same Problem. After turning Wi-Fi off hotspot works for me.

Mine working perfectly, try settings > system > reset options > reset wifi, mobile and Bluetooth.

Working ok for me too

I think it's because too many devices are connected to the wifi router. I get this message as well when connected to uni's student wifi
Errr, no.
I have MAC filtering on my router (so no unnoticed intruders), and it happened when no more than 2 devices (SGS2 and SGS4) were connected...
Do I need to mention that SGS2 does NOT loose WiFi?
In your advanced settings for wifi un check auto network switch. i was experiencing the same issues and this has resolved it. Auto network switch monitors the quality of your wifi and if there are any issues on the wifi it will switch back to mobile internet. Can be a real pain.

WiFi doesn't connect automatically with screen off

Hi there. It connects fine as soon as I turn the screen on. Not sure what the problem is. I believe it's a 5.1.1 issue.

That link has the same issue and they couldn't figure it out either.

I've tried everything. It's not that the wifi turns off when screen is off. It's that it stops scanning to connect to a new network automatically. It'll stay connected to whatever wifi I'm on as long as I'm in range but as soon as I'm out of range, it won't reconnect.
I had the same issue with some non Touchwiz roms like CM and GPE. I believe this is caused by the router. While I am at work it keeps disconnecting, while at home there is no problem at all. So I believe router is the cause of the problem. If you have access to the router, I would try setting to different channels and try.

Thanks for the advice. I had thought that too but I've tested other routers as well. It's a software issue as it works fine on Touchwiz. It's not that it disconnects, it just doesn't switch to any other saved network when the screen is off. As soon as I turn on the screen, it connects right away. All routers and SSIDs.

Wi-fi disconnecting? Anyone having the same problems?

I've not yet received my OP5. I'm in China.
A lot of people here is having really severe wifi disconnection problems. No more wifi data but wifi is still connected, have to reconnet wifi to have data.
I cannot post link yet. But there are all kinds of report on the Chinese official OP forum.
I'm just wondering if any of you guys are having the same problems?
I'll test the phone once I receive it.
Yes another issue, it's done it twice on me in the last 1w hrs, the wifi icon completely disappeared as if it switched off, I'm noticing some worrying issues out the box.
That should have said last 12hrs.
For me the problem is different. WiFi continues on, it's like it's properly connected, however I can't access anything on the web. I have to disconnect WiFi, use mobile data, and connect WiFi again. Then it works for 2 minutes, and stops accessing any websites again...
So, the wifi only works for about two minutes. I quit and now I'm only using mobile data...
It happens with all access points and wifis I've tried.
Same problem here. WiFi connection is always on, but after 5 minutes after connecting there is no more data send.

Okay I'm glad I'm not just imagining it. I'm having the exact same problem. I thought it was my home network at first but good to know it's the phone. I wonder how long it's going to take for a fix?
Try turning off smart network switch in wifi settings, I had the issue, but when I turned that off I had no issues.
Thanks. Will try. I hope that solves it.

have you try?
Hi, I've had major problems within my 5 Ghz Wifi: The transfer rate was suuuper slow (0.15 kb/s and less) and after a while down to nothing.
But with switching to 2.4 Ghz everything works fine. So just go to wifi settings -> advanced and select 2.4 ghz only. That solves my problems for now. Hope a future update solves the 5 ghz issues.
I've had no problems with wifi on my OnePlus 5.

Oreo 8.1b - No WiFi in flight mode?!?

Hi,
In some situations I would like to turn off phone reception, but still use wifi. This always worked with all Android phones and versions. I activate flight mode, and then turn on wifi again.
However, with the latest 8.1b it doesn't. When I activate flight mode, all connections turn off as they should. But when I reactivate wifi, wifi seems to find some networks but does not connect to my home wifi (with great signal strength). When I turn off flight mode, I have to turn off and on wifi again and it will then connect to my WiFi network without problems.
Is this known and is there any workaround?
Thanks,
Eriol
Works fine here. airplane mode plus wifi.

Well, not here ... I tried several settings and also restarted the device several times to see whether this works.
I just want to sort out whether I have a wrong setting and to understand the issue a bit better before posting a bug report to Essential.
Thanks,
Eriol
I found out what the issue is - and just in case this happens to anyone else: I checked the config of my wifi router and figured out that wifi is running on 2.4 GHz on channel 13. (I had explicitly allowed channels 12 and 13 in my Fritz!Box). Now I unchecked channels 12 and 13, and - bingo! Wifi uses another channel, and the PH-1 connects to wifi in flightmode again. Weird thing is that I did not enounter this issue with my Galaxy Note 4, nor with my wife's Nexus 5X.
Hope this helps anyone in the future!

It's WiFi bug comes with pie update, contact service centre nearby & ask them to downgrade to Oreo..... they will do it.
I'm really getting disappointed with Nokia day by day. I expected so much. Now I'm seeing stupid issues, like the primary mic not working, and people having wifi bugs. I mean I spent my hard earned money buying this phone, for it to f**k me over in this fashion. They release updates, but they don't do anything about fixing bugs.

Same with me. Never experienced wifi issues.
I'm also facing the same issue now from last 2 days. Any other fix available for this? Other than factory reset or downgrade. Also the restart option doesn't seem to work for me everytime.
Works with other hotspots

I tried using hotspots from my friends and it seems to be working for some reason. No delay in connecting, doesn't get disconnected automatically, doesn't shows no internet. All working fine. Now the question is why with my router at home? Has anyone here tried resetting their routers? Also, are there any compatibility issues going on, if yes then maybe our phone no longer supports old gen routers.
