It's literally being built right now lol

hello @theimpulson, @npjohnson, I was able to upgrade from official lineageOS 18.1 to official 19.1 successfully, the system represents good stability in general, although I have found these bugs.
======Overall error and performance report=======
-Sometimes the system freezes and restarts when I format the MicroSD as portable storage.
-The error still persists in the installation of applications that exceed 500mb or download of additional content from the playstore in adoptable storage(It starts to corrupt the files and sometimes when you transfer the files to the microSD in the adoptable storage, some of them get corrupted).
-Native screen recorder does not record system audio.
-Sometimes the interface feels a bit slow, but it does not affect daily use.
-The new camera application does not have the option to save the videos or photos to the memory card.
-The native voice recorder does not have the option to save the records on the memory card and its options are not translated into Spanish.
-The native AUDIOFX equalization application sometimes applies the adjustments made from the interface (I think it may be because it has remained in its version 2.2.0 and has not received an improvement in the last 2 years, since android 10 LineageOS 17.1 that is in that version), it would be great if the EQ Reverb option would work on this device .
-The transmission of content over Wi-Fi has unfortunately lost performance compared to the previous version, an approximate loss of 17 to 28% , sound cuts are persistent and this also affects the image but to a lesser extent (In the previous version, the transmission was practically stable at all times).
-occasional slowness in the operating system, from what I see the system moves without difficulty with this device, but sometimes it loses that performance, so I think that optimization in the call of the processes would be lacking to improve its performance.
-The vibrate of the device responds late and this happens on several occasions and can become somewhat annoying .
-There are occasional leaks in the ram memory, generating performance problems and forcing the device to restart.
-Occasional audio cuts when using the microphone of the bluetooth headphones (as an alternative solution when this happens, it is to restart the device with a charge greater than 30%).
-When pressing from the notification bar in do not disturb mode, the device sometimes loses its performance completely, having to restart the device, a somewhat strange error, which did not usually occur in previous versions of LinegeOS.
=======What works well======
-There has been an improvement of approximately 7% in the audio recording by microphone with the WhatsApp application compared to the previous version.
-Good operation of the sound in the speakers of the device with this version of android.
-Despite the drop in performance that the device sometimes suffers, the connection to the bluetooth headset is approximately 5% faster.
-Image effects in all apps are well done and look great on the device .
-The calls are quite stable, I have even improved the recovery of the signal in areas of poor coverage .
-In general the performance of the system is quite good to be the first compilation of this new version.
-Everything else is working correctly so far (I haven't tried all the features of the new android version yet).
I have to congratulate again @theimpulson, @npjohnson for their great effort to bring a new version of android for this Nokia 6.1 device

Does that mean that in order to try out this rom I have to be on LOS18.1?
Because I'm on stock oreo and it feels awkward to install LOS18.1 then LOS19.1.

Потому что я на стоковом Oreo, и мне неудобно устанавливать LOS18.1, а затем LOS19.1.

you can't fast boot boot, you need to flash it and boot to recovery.

What are the steps to install this custom if currently on another custom rom. Plz in detail.

same as from stock - see the wiki install guide.

I successfully flashed the lineage os and it was a stable experience and was great. But to update the rom do i need to manually adb sideload or it will be automatically updated through updater.

Oh ok thanks.
By the way I was wondering can I use that new iOS-to-Android whatsapp transfer feature?
You can read more about it here but basically it allows you to connect an iphone via a usbc-lightning cable and transfers all whatsapp data to the android phone.
It should be present in an android 12 rom but I'm worried that since the rom has no otg support I wouldn't be able to use it so any idea about this?
Thank you in advance and pardon me if my questions don't relate much to the purpose of this thread.

And another piece of info you might find useful, back in the day when I was on the official LOS17.1 (Android 10) that you guys made, I was able to use the otg even though it wasn't supported.
I would first plug in my otg usb (and the phone wouldn't recognize it) and then power off the phone, then unplug the otg and turn my phone on, and when it's done powering on I put the otg back into my phone and it would recognize it normally.
I didn't have any external kernels or twrp or anything back then, just the official los with magisk.
And the trick used to work almost always (about 95% of the time or more) but I don't know which step of it is the important one as there may be steps I did that were unnecessary.
I hope this can help.

It is only an approximate, I am guided by the performance that I have experienced in the previous version of android, but it is only an approximate.
but as I mentioned being the first build of this new version, the overall performance is excellent and @npjohnson I have to congratulate him for his hard work and dedication for making the decision to keep bringing this device to life .

Thank you very much for your work! I'm eager to test it
What isn't clear to me from the instructions: Is it necessary to first sideload the 19.1 recovery image or is the 18.1 recovery sufficient?

7. How good or bad is the battery backup on zenfones?
Its quite good battery back of 15-17 hrs mix usage. I have used even upto 30 hrs backup. When you receive the phone new charge the battery to 100% before using for the first time then let it discharge to 2-5% & then charge again to 100%
New phones will have battery drain issues but with couple of charges and applying all system update, battery backup will improve dramatically. With average usage battery should last 15 - 17 hours. Battery drain more during 3g usage , camera and heavily while gaming (heavy games) or with background services.

Loud speak sound is quite low even after updates but headphone quality is amazing which good bass using supplied headphones. If you have 3rd part expensive headphones you will be pleasantly surprised by it.
***NOTE*** After system update to 1.15.40.35_2 firmware, please open Audio wizard and enable Music Mode by clicking the power icon on the top right side of the words "Music Mode"
The system update automatically switches Audio wizard off while updating, so please enable it otherwise you will get extremely low volume.
10. How to take screenshots?
Go to settings > Asus customized settings > Key settings
Select Tap and hold to take screenshot.
Now tap and hold the third key (bottom right) on the navigation bar to get screenshots
ALTERNATIVELY
You can take screenshots by pressing Power button + Volume down button simultaneously.

Those who are facing problem while updating the system.

Rooting guide ONLY for zenfone 5/6
No confirmation if this root works on z4 & z4.5
This rooting is only for jellybeans 4.3 DOES not work on KITKAT 4.4.2
Rooting may void your warranty & can soft brick your phone
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK only.
*****ROOTING method to follow*****
Download rootzenfone.apk from here
http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2014/09/rootzenfone-144r-apk.html
Install the root app on your phone then follow step 1-6.
Goto Settings > Security >Check the Unknown Sources (Allow installation of apps from unknown sources) box else this apk will not install since its from other source than playstore.
1. turn off data and wifi / airplane mode before rooting (IMPORTANT)
2. press the root button at bottom, after 5 sec when demo mode notification pop up turn off the phone.
3. Start the phone now & let it boot normally it will show you are rooted.
4. enable wifi & Install root check app from play store > open rootchecker app & confirm the rooting. (see screenshot below)
5. Once rooting is confirmed> open the SuperUser app > settings> enable the pro version in settings. (see screenshot below)
6. After you have enabled pro option> in setting enable the > survival mode, now OTA updates can be applied (see screenshot below)
hopefully without problem.
7. Unrooting is simple open the SuperSU app (NOT the rootZenfone app), SuperSU app will show full unroot option> press the button> phone should reboot now & delete the SuperUser app. Open rootchecker app which you downloaded in step 4 & confirm the root permission is Denied (you will see message in RED)
ONCE YOU ARE ROOTED remember not to apply OTA updates from asus without checking the "root survival mode" in your rooting app (it preserves your root during update) This check should be done every time you update.

How to click panorama with asus zenfone
Watch the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4mc_1tLDd4&list=PLBTfQLF7fs0AwAz7Hq0uCsWOFHftp5ilr&index=12
Like other mobiles you cant shoot partial panorama which is quite an over-site by asus you have to shoot 360°
Although phone is great and all we wont get Android L for it
Different version of the OS don't necessarily make the phone best, the first stock OS gives maximum time to any company to work on. Knowing Asus support system in development you never know we may get L too but they have as of now promised Kitkat which probably will bring usb OTG support to it.
4.3 does support otg.
Sent from my ASUS_T00I using Tapatalk
NO not as of now,
hardware supports otg but there is no kernel level support as yet for z5 & z6
so you cant connect a pendirive & browse data on these.
Asus is indeed working on it.
I am connecting my pendrive and able to browse data.

my mic is not picking up any audio when taking video and using sound recorder or any third party audio recording app.
i tried the test .12345+= and its also not picking audio. even on voice search its not responding.
when i tried calling the mic works properly. the top mics works when on speakerphone while in a call.
I'm really not sure if this is a hardware issue of a software issue. Please assist.

It happened with me too yesterday, I was thinking of doing factory reset but dint do it,voice search was not working, I was able to hear incoming calls but other side was hearing loud disturbance which indicated me that some recording app is interfering, I uninstalled all such mike apps then restarted the phone without SIM, later inserted the SIM & since then all is working fine.
Try this if it helps, I still dont know which app/s caused this problem.
If this fails then only do factory reset, but since you will loose all data you have to take all data backup contacts/sms/photos.

Oh are you saying that 1st video you shot didn't had sound recorded at all
or does that mean that when you play that video its not playing sound? Try playing that video in computer or another mobile.
If factory reset has not solved the problem It seems you have a actual hardware problem with speaker in that case best solution is to get replaced under warranty.

Extremely slow storage - laggy performance

Ok so for the last few months I have been experiencing major slow downs on my A1.
I was on the January Oreo update when one day the phone started lagging when opening apps or browsing inside apps. I could not track down the problem so I did a factory reset. The first few factory resets made the phone very slow, with even the welcome screen crashing. I flashed the latest nougat rom using the mi flash tool and after a few tries and factory restores it got a bit stable. Now I am in the december nougat build and, even tho it is still slower than it was, it is somewhat usable. I did find a thread here about how the problem could be the eMMC dying, so I started doing some benchmarks.
To my surprise, the storage is extremely slow, like HDD slow... I have the 64GB model. Here is a screenshot of AndroBench. Is there anything I can do or is it just a hardware problem and I need a replacement?
Thanks

I made a bench for you, you can compare this, it really looks slow on your side. Did you ever did a complete wipe of your phone and a fresh clean install ??? I'm using the 64gb model too, with the 8.1 beta leak.

I did indeed. I have done many wipes from inside android and even from the bootloader. I've also done clean installs on both oreo and nougat. It does look like a hardware problem to me, which is not good, since it's my only phone :crying:

Use your warranty before it's dying completely.
I have the same problem , everything was working fine. One day suddenly all apps started crashing, i thought it was probably some malaware or some app.
I flashed all except storage, factory reset but to no avail. The UI crashes all the time , even flashing via fastboot takes so much of time.
I had unlocked bootloader. I just hope my phone is in warranty??
any updates on your phone mate?

I don't really have any updates. I am trying to convince the people I got it from that this is a problem and I need a replacement, but they seem hesitant. I am still using it, and its slower every day. Use your warranty as fast as you can. I tried to do many things, including wiping everything, every partition, and also doing a disk check and everything. I have no idea if that's a fixable problem. And I am surprised I can't find any more information on this, as it looks like it happens to more people.
same issue here. last month it started to crash and did a factory reset. at first i thought it might be my sdcard but took it out and same slowly - close to unusable. apps constantly crashes now and then. restarting phone is extremely slow. keyboard and scroll lags. this is not custom rom, i am using official android 8.0.0 from xiami.
Did you try to trim the memory with fstrim app? Maybe it's a trim issue?
Better use your warranty to replace eMMC ASAP

I am pretty sure android 5+ does trim automatically. Maybe not that often, but I was forced to use the phone for over 2 months with the slow storage, in which I did several factory resets as well as installed custom roms to try and make it usable for the time being. No matter what, benchmarks were always the same. I would expect android to trim the storage at least once during that time period.
I'm convinced Xiaomi have unintentionally slowed the phone down and made it more laggy in recent updates. Like you, the phone can be mega laggy sometimes. Or I click on browser links and it takes 2 seconds to respond. Other times the phone flies. It's very inconsistent. I think Xiaomi have very poor quality control when testing their rom updates.

2 seconds? those are rookie numbers Opening apps on my A1 can take 10-20 seconds for apps to fully open. Especially Spotify, takes around 1 minute to open and allow me to use it without it lagging like its about to crash. I don't think xiaomi is messing with it as much as you might think. Maybe you have other things slowing down your phone. The problem I am discussing here is a hardware problem and not a software one. You can check for yourself if you are suffering from it by running the Androbench benchmark and comparing your results to the mine.

Off topic: I had Galaxy 3 back in days (2010 to 2012), Just want to thank you for your Rom and other project for Galaxy 3. Hope you are doing great, Thankyou for you support, God bless you.
So, have the same problem... I bought a phone in the summer from another owner. On standard ROM (8.1), the phone lagged and freezing. Full factory reset or wiping in twrp didn't solve the problem. Tried all the custom, but lags appeared after a while. The decision was to switch to treble-rom, freezing for the most part are gone. Then I tried to flash in test-point mode with disassembly the phone, but freezing remained. Now I formatted memory in f2fs and install pixel experience 9.0 with moun kernel and lagged and freeze are gone. Apps open quickly and i didn't noticed other problem. But in Bench I have similar slow speed results...
humm is there anyway to identify the memory controller/manufacturer/type? this may help to identify the problem
1. Dial the following code to get service menu * # * # 64663 # * # *
2. Tap the first item, version information
3. Scroll down to emmc
Mine says Samsung as in the screenshot.

I have custom ROM and there is no service menu... Cpu-z and Aida didn't show information about memory(
Can't upload screenshots androidbench in xda app...

Strange behavior of the smartphone. After installing PE and formatting in f2fs, the laggy and freezing really disappeared. Previously, during this time, something would definitely appear...

I would like to do it, but without the service menu I don't know how I can find out it without disassembling the phone ... Maybe you know the way, how I can check this info? Cpu-z and Aida didn't show it.

OnuPlus 7T pro 5g Mclaren T-Mobile issues need to be solved

Using an oneplus 7t pro 5g Mclaren since February this year..i am not a power user..when OS11 update came i was so excited to upgrade and after upgrading my peaceful life with the device has become a nightmare..i am trying to point out the problems i have been facing..
1.the google app simply doesn't wanna work 99% of the time..(since OS10) i have use chrome for normal google search..
2.'ok google' or 'hey google' never did respond to me doesnt matter how many times i retrain my voice.
3.smart lock features doesnt work.
4.the battery capacity has been shown 3300 mAh on many device checking apps including benchmarking ones where it's supposed to show 4085 mAh as written on the box..besides that my phone battery backup forced me to put my belief on the 3300 mAh capacity..since OS11 update it has become worse just.
5.Oneplus cameras dont have that great reputation but i was happy with the shutter performance and the pics..OS11 destroyed that feeling with laggy camera app and bad performances..protrait mood fights hard to locate the face/object and 70% time gets defeated..theres obviously focus issues as well..but the 1 sec lag after pressing shutter is just unbearable..last 2/3 months i have been avoiding taking pics on my phone
6.Ghost Lock has made my device so pathetic that the phone itself wanna die i think..it doesnt matter gaming or making a simple call ghost locks have been happening all the time..phone hangs 10% of the time after it happens...minimum 5 times a day.
7.some third party apps arent working properly also which are very useful one's..like vanced/quick video recorder etc..
8.in developer options the Bluetooth LDAC options have been disabled.i bought an oneplus bullets Z along with the phone but later was surprised to see that it only supports AAC and another common codec no aptX or anything.i dont understand when i connect this headphone with a Xiaomi MI 9T all the codecs are available to choose on that device but not on my phone! The codecs arent available on the phone itself or the Bluetooth device i am confused.
9.i dont know what to say about the battery backup.never felt an urge to buy a power bank but now i do.i am not also a heavy gamer dont play PUBG or Asphalt. Games like Rise of empire or clash royale drains the battery such fast that my 3 years old Nokia 6.1 sometimes laughs at it.
10.heating issue isnt absent either..i only use the cover given with the phone when not at home..phone gets heated up with simple gaming sometimes unbearably during charging..i have been noticing also the charging time isnt like it used to be..20/30 minutes more ots taking for a full charge.
11.bluetooth device gets disconnected on calls specially when talking over social apps.and on some social media apps it doesnt wanna even get connected
Again i am not a super user of android..never tried rooting any device..this one is my first OnePlus device. what are my options to get rid of these problems? Specially to solve the problem with the camera i am seriously thinking of downgrading it to OS10 stable but i dont know that will fix camera lag at least or not..any suggestions to get rid of all/most of the problems written above will be heavenly..thanks for having patience to read all through
My current build number..

Wow, you must have spent (wasted) a long, long time typing that...
As for 4) that's a bug in most apps. The battery capacity is 4085maH
As for everything else, have you tried a factory reset and not restoring data/backup of app data from Google?
I don't have a single one of those issues on OOS 11.
If factory reset doesn't work, you can revert back to OOS10 using the MSM tool, or sell the phone. Do you think a) OnePlus reads these forums or b) actually cares at all?
Thanks for ur reply..actually it took a little time to write but u must have noticed i managed to make it funny for myself
No i didnt try that..u r suggesting me to factory reset and then not restoring the backup data and start fresh?

Yes, exactly. Just try it and see if it works. Don't have much to lose by trying. Considering I don't have a single issue with OOS11 (and specifically none of the ones you mentioned), I think you have some apps or more specifically app data that didn't take the upgrade to OOS11 well and are causing havoc on your device. Just factory reset, don't let Google restore apps (sms, call log, pictures are fine to restore), and see if you still have issues.

I bought the McLaren when it first came out. I loved the device and it worked flawlessly. I saw no need to sweat rooting the device and wasn't an option back then anyway. Even now it doesn't seem as clean as the earlier android phones I've rooted and owned but the world changes.
Unfortunately, I cracked my screen and was sent a refurb. I started dealing with sound corruption issues shortly afterwards. I never gave up on the phone and I knew there was some kind of conflict with newer Google updates my device pretty early on. I did MANY factory resets(erase all) and cleared cache both individually and as well as through recovery and it would only temporarily fix my issue. Then it would come back on it's own without any changes made by me.
At first, I had a lot of success uninstalling updates for the main Google app, clearing cache and data (sometimes resetting system app preferences and then rebooting into recovery where I would clear cache again and reboot. That worked for a while but as Google and other Google services received updates it became more difficult to fix using this method. By the time 11 dropped and the issue got worse, I was convinced I must have gotten either A) a bad egg or B) it was my fault and I turned the phone off in the middle of an install causing some kind of corruption that persisted through the updates somehow. The truth though may be somewhere between a phone that someone returned for a good reason and the increasingly more insidious nature of Google Apps. I was eventually defeated, made too many changes that the phone didn't agree with, got the Qualcom Error and was faced with either getting a new phone or seeking aid through a Community I've always respected.
Since then I've tried clean installs of the more recent RoMs but the issue was persistant. If it wasn't for the fact that the phone's speaker and mic would work again after a clean install (offline no SiM) but then get corrupted again within 5 minutes, I think I would have assumed a hardware issue only (still might be a bad egg on some level).
I decided to go back further, this time installing 10.0.36, which I guessed might be far enough back to a time before any issues and is a bit lighter (around 10 preinstalled apps lighter not including system). To my dismay (again, still offline) the mic and speaker corruption/conflict was still present. I began making one change at a time (mostly targeting anything mic or Google related) and it became clearer over the last few days that it was definitely Google and Google's zombie-like behavior to change settings back on it's own. I think that company went way past the point of overreach and intrusion a long time ago.
What happens is that ALL of the Google apps have (modify system settings) checked by default and I believe all it takes is one of them to have that access to let it's Google buddies come back to the party.
I would love to know where the conflict actually lies on a deeper level but that's probably a bit out my bubble of current knowledge and I just really need to have a working phone more than answers atm.
Now I'm praying that dropping in my Sim and signing in to the real owner (I seriously overpaid for a phone that's mostly not mine) of my phone doesn't somehow give Google access to some backup plan to allow itself free reign all up in my settings again. If it does, someone in charge of the google might be getting a 5G McLaren shoved into places that see less sun...in my imagination of course.

The problem isn't Google, it's OnePlus not following Google's mandated instructions on how to properly initialize and configure a new device that will be running A10, because they (OnePlus) rushed it to market. They didn't set up the partition tables properly to work with the new dynamic partitioning in A10 for a start.
A10 and A11 are part of Project Mainline which allows Google to update important parts of the phone transparently without having to wait for an OTA from the manufacturer and/or carrier. But because OnePlus didn't properly set up the device for A10, the transparent updates don't go over very well...and there is no way to fully undo them even with the MSM tool.
The blame solely lies with OnePlus as no other devices launched with A10 have this issue. OnePlus didn't follow the "basic" instructions available for the entire planet to see on Google's Android dev website. Google's only mistake was certifying this piece of crap.

Hope to see «Raise to wake» feature in future releases.
After 1 day of use can say that it works great. My battery lasts much longer than official firmware. Downloaded latest BSG's GCam & use it as default.
Thanks for great ROM!

Blazing fast ROM! Outstanding battery life compared to stock Nothing OS 1.5 - I'm talking 18-19 hrs after a full charge. I don't use my phone much on a workday, other than responding to Whatsapp messages 15-20 minutes, 5-10 minutes of camera and GPhotos use, maybe 5 minutes of Instagram and an hour or so of calling. Rest of the time I have my bluetooth earbuds playing Spotify via phone. I noticed a few issues as follows:
1. "Camera" (built-in, G-Cam or any other cam from the play store refuses to record videos. The app simply crashes.
2. The "Screen" glitches out with patterns (mostly with AOD turned on). One time the pattens appeared refused to go away, so I had to force reboot using the key combination. And sometimes the screen shows white noise on the bottom part of the screen when turning on/off using power button or when switching apps or pulling down the notification shade.
3. "Mic" most definitely shows issues when speaking on the phone. The person on the other side has trouble hearing on regular 4g/5g as well as Whatsapp call. I have to get a bit shouty to get my voice across. I do not face this problem when taking through wireless earbuds.
4. "Speaker" is loud and shows no issues till I tap the speaker icon on the call screen. At this point I'm able to hear the other person, but they can't hear me. So putting the phone on my ear or using an external listening device is the only way to make a call work.
5. "Glyph" this is not a biggie as I have it off all the time, but it seems to blink when there's no message as well.
I hope points 3. and 4. get resolved in the next update as it difficult to put the phone on the ear every time a call comes. I like to use the speaker in my office while working.
Kudos to @hiper25 for building a solid ROM!
Thank you for great ROM!
Hope to see «Raise to Wake» in the next build.

Did you tried latest update? Does these issues fixed?

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][9.0][chagallwifi] LineageOS 16.0

Hello everyone,
As Android 10 and above seem to be a bit sluggish for this device, I decided to make an Android 9 LineageOS 16.0 build for my soon 9 year old SM-T800 tablet. It seems to be much smoother and stable then Android 10 and even while doing heavy web browsing, watching YouTube in 1080p or using Google Maps navigation in satellite mode, nothing crashed for me. The only issue I found is that the tablet gets a bit hot when actively using it. To sorta mitigate the issue, I recommend rooting the device, installing a kernel manager and limiting the CPU frequency to 1700MHz (where default is 1900MHz). The ROM itself has been very stable to use, only camera video recording and fingerprint scanner are not working as of now.
What works?
Boot
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Front and back cameras (photos only)
Video playback
Audio
Sensors
Flash
GPS
Microphone
What doesn't work?
Video recording in camera
Fingerprint scanner
Bluetooth is randomly hanging up when connecting peripherals
Offline charging
You tell me the rest
This build is SELinux Permissive!
Flashing instructions (clean flash):
Ensure you're on the latest Marshmallow firmware for your tablet
Use LATEST OFFICIAL TWRP, or LineageOS recovery (attached with the ROM)
Wipe Data and System partitions from recovery
Flash ROM zip from internal storage, SD Card, USB OTG or ADB sideload
Flash GApps (optional, my recommendation is OpenGApps 9.0 arm pico or nano)
Flash Magisk (optional)
Reboot and voila!
Otherwise, this ROM is good for users who wants better smoothness and stability and doesn't want to downgrade all the way down to Android 7.1.
If anyone wants a build for a model different than chagallwifi, tag me and I can try to build (You'll have to test it yourself!).

For cpu temperatures/speed limits,
Which cpu govenor in the kernel did you use?
You could build a version with the kernel limiting to 1700Mhz so people need to mess around with root.
I recommend upgrading the thermal pads inside the tablet as well

The current governor I used is schedutil, I'll try setting it to interactive and limiting the CPU frequency next build

Do you plan on fixing the fingerprint sensor anytime soon? I use it on the LineageOS 17.1 build pretty often

I currently can't find the cause of the sensor not working. It reaches the fingerprint setup successfully, but holding or sliding my finger on the home button doesn't seem to do anything.
Hi Just a quick question.. my understanding is that android 9 does not support dark mode, that your screenshot almost seem to suggest that it does.
my reason for asking is that I am visually impaired, and really can't read anything on a white background. anyway just wanted clarification before I try out this rom.
Cheers

Hi! Android 9 has a partial dark mode. The built in system apps as well as the system UI is dark, but third party apps do not support this dark theme and are light by the default. Many third party apps can be manually set to dark theme.

thanks, I think I'll give it a crack, i'm using the latest Lineage 20 build from another thread and to be honest it's super buggy lol. If this doesn't work out I can always go back to the 17.1 build which was actually pretty stable, but as you point out it's a bit on the sluggish side. Cheers
Or you might try unofficial LineageOS 18.1 (A11) which perfectly supports dark theme. I'm running it on my SM-T805 without any problems.

The problem I found with A10+ ROMs is that some slightly graphics heavier apps or even Google Maps in the browser can crash itself or even lock up the tablet completely.
For those graphics apps I can't tell. But Google Maps I use a lot and it's absolutely stable.

The app itself works fine, but the Google Maps website will likely crash when it's opened in a browser when starting to navigate around the map. And there are many other websites that do crash the browser as well.

Watching youtube works fine, as that's all i do with this tablet now, other than checking my email. Setting up the e-mail did freeze the tablet a couple of times
hello,
So I tried out this rom and wanted to report back my findings.
I found it to be both stable and fast, but there were a few issues, which has led me back to 17.1 LuisROM which given my particular needs really does seem to be the best option. I have actually tried both18 and 20, but neither of them are as stable as17.1, at least based on the particular set of apps I use.
Anyway, the issues I had were:
1) the partial dark mode support was certainly not bad, but given the fact that apps don't follow the system theme, and I could find no way of setting the Google app to dark mode, it was less than ideal. this is no fault of the build at all It's just a limitation of being Android 9, and I imagine for most people it would not be an issue nor a reason not to use this ROM
2) I had a weird issue when I shut the tablet down and plugged it in to power source. The battery icon showed and and then the tablet froze up, so that if I disconnected it from the power source the battery icon still continued to display and the only way to boot it back up was to press and hold the home key, volume down and power. this would seem to suggest there is an issue with the Kernal/ boot loader.
3) I have the official Samsung case with built-in keyboard, but there appeared to be a problem with bluetooth and I simply could not get it to connect. this was the deciding factor like to go back to 17.1
Cheers

Hello, I'm sorry for the issues you experienced with the ROM. I checked both of the issues and the offline charging issue seems to be there for me too. As you mentioned, it might be related to kernel, but I sadly can't find the actual cause of it as I'm still pretty new new to the world of Android development and I'm still learning how everything works. The Bluetooth issue is something I have now experienced as well. I tried connecting a pair of BT earbuds and they seem to be stuck at connecting at the Bluetooth page in settings. For now I'll update the known issues with those two bugs and maybe one day I'll find out what causes them. And by the way, since you now installed Android 10 on your tablet, how is it for browsing sites? Do sites crash often? Since this is the main thing I use the tablet for (and occasionally watching YouTube and navigation in the car).
Cheers

Hey there,
I wouldn't exactly call myself a power user, but I have not suffered a single website crash on the particular build I am using, Which I believe was created by a very knowledge Developer last year. It might be worth noting that I use Samsung Internet browser, Which in my opinion offers by far the best overall experience, Including a flawless dark mode option that seems to work for every website.
One thing I will mention about the spilled is that the developer seems to have gone AWOL and the download link to his builds no longer works. That said, I have a copy of the build on my google drive, download link SM-T800 Lineage 17.1
Give it a spin and see what you think, Overall I'm very happy with its stability and performance. Because of my visual impairment I mostly use audio based apps, such as Google Podcast, Audible, Poweranp Pro, But I also occasionally use Newpipe and VLC player and again, have not had any issues.
PS Good on you for creating your own build, I almost considered trying to do it myself but it's just too much to take on considering I can hardly see the screen lol
