My Samsung note 4 SM-n910F wont turn on :( - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys can you help me please i am facing a big problem with my Samsung note 4 SM-n910F stock Rom 6.0.1 android i slept last night and i left my phone charging normal then in the morning my phone never turns on and when I plug the usb cable on my laptop it shows a qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 on device manager can you help me please it is my only phone i use i wrote many threads in different forums with no response at all

Very mysterious. There can be 2 reasons: 1. Your samsung device may have updated last night, this may happen even if you have turned it off. Your samsung device may have lost power during updating and failed verfication. I think so because you wrote that it shows blackscreen in but still appears in qcom port. 2. Your hardware may have been damaged, it may happen. You can first try to download your stock firmware https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and odin tool, to unbrick your device. good luck.

nope its didn't update at all no update support for my device the latest rom is already installed years ago stock rom android 6.0.1 the latest supported rom for my device when i plug it on my pc i hear usb sound normal

This is 90% of all cases software errors. You should try using odin with stock formware. If that does not work, I'm afraid there's a short circuit on the ssd drive.

This is for Samsung note4 N910F:
For avoiding any more confusions , i have gathered all the links that are important .
These are the only files that you will need to debrick a n910f ,download them all and you are good to go :
This is the debrick.img :

The next is win32diskimager :
https://mega.nz/#!PtUDGArB!AAAAAAAAA...AAAOtL_pacxLGc
Qualcomm drivers: https://mega.nz/#!4lNliRYJ!3blyZgKug...2UjUIckEFhMRks
This is the recovery firmware for n910f (go to note4/511 and download each and every file ):
https://mega.nz/#F!QIMmFRIT!Ns3AM-n0FUoMqOOWUif9ng
This is the procedure:
-Open win32diskimager, load the debrick.img(3.74gb for n910f
-Flash it on a blank sd card, the card should be completely formatted and should be in fat32 format.
[/B ]-Once done, put that sd card in your bricked device.
-Connect it to your pc.
-Hold the power button for at least 10 sec or try the download mode key trio.
-It should vibrate.
-If it doesnt, hold it in front of an air conditioner,
let it cool( this has been tested).
-If it still doesnt vibrates, remove the battery, hold the power button for 10sec and then insert the battery.
-Now again try to press power button.
>So, once it vibrates, leave it for around 5min.
-Then press the volume down key+power+home.
-It should boot in to download mode.
-Now you can flash stock rom or recovery firmware
recommend flashing customs roms tho stock rom sucks

Thanks bro

Hello Lone_Wolf21,
I just wanted to ask if you tried this at all, and if it worked? If so, did you lose any data?
Thank you in advance.

Put it in a freezer bag & toss it in the freezer for a hour or 2 try turning it on after that.

[Q] Bricked N9005 while downgrading from 5.0. Not responding to any keys. Need help!

Hello All,
I Hard bricked my N9005 while downgrading form Stock 5.0 to stock N9005VJUBMI7 (4.3 ?).
Note 3 N9005 32GB .. was working well on Android 5.0, except GPS issue and battery drain issue. So, I thought will go back to older stock ROM.
While flashing N9005VJUBMI7 (from Sammobile ) on Odin, without any PIt file and Re-partition unchecked. Odin flash completed and it said successful.
But, after this, phone never booted. Power button doesn't work. Download mode keys won't work. Recovery mode keys won't work. Charger doesn't work. USB doesn't detect on PC. LED never lit. Is this state called HARD-BRICKED? Or its a step ahead and completely dead ?!
I tried the debrick.img on SD card method using the thread by ValenteL. Followed below steps:
On Windows 7, used win32DiskImager, and created the rescue micros SD card (16GB) using debrick image of 4.4.2. Inserted SD card on phone, put battery and tried to see if phone boots. Unfortunately, it didn't Tried to play around with all keys, long press for 30 secs, usb cable, charger.. etc. But, still no luck.
Please let me know if any suggestions to bring the device back alive!
Thanks in advance !!

Sorry, my phone is too adamant. It won't go to download mode. All I want is to get it into download mode! Would jig help? What you think? Spend some 3$ on eBay?
Worth a try with the jig before paying for a service centre repair .

Just flash your firmware from Odin using a PC, I had a similar problem in my tablet, it didn't had download mode either and that worked, try it.
When I connect it to Pc it keeps bootlooping and pc gives sound of connecting then disconnecting of hardware.

Turn off your device, keep your finger in the button until the device is off or pull off the battery, connect it to the PC and flash your firmware through Odin, at that moment I used the 3.70 i think but you can use the latest version it's fine, that should install download mode and the whole firmware if that doesn't work I'm afraid I don't know how else I can help, that's what I did and it worked

You are right I did it the same way and it worked for me too. I actually was thinking the phone was quite dead bur or wasn't, I just flashed the recovery firmware 4.4.4 Russian and if you ask me food the step by step procedure it was just like this:
1. I started the Odin 3.07 and connected my device to see is it was detected or not, my surprise the Odin catch it, and shown added and the port number was 18.
2. I just pulled out the USB cable from my laptop and loaded the BL file only to just flash the bootloader file and see what would happen, I was trying it bcz I was totally disappointed with the device i.e. Grand Prime 530H Duos. I also noticed that my device was not stable even with that black screen it used to restart after almost five minutes in that case. And I knew that in 5 minute I will just be able to flash BL file. The BL file was loaded on the Odin now and I inserted the USB cable again while keeping the vol down button pressed to my laptop when the Odin again found and connected with my device, I didnot take any more time to flash BL file.
3. As soon as i had not flashed all the SW therefore, my device didn't boot properly, and I thought it didn't work but when my device was connected to the computer I just listened the startup tone of the Android 4.4.4. From that moment I knew my device was not dead now so i had to select all four files from the recovery firmware of 4.4.4 and connect the device to odin even there was no sign of download mode, as soon i clicked the Start button i saw many things in the Odin which were good enough to see. after the firmware flashed the device got started.

Is your USB cable original is it working on other devices? And are you using a USB 2.0 port, that is very much necessary, for Odin and some other hardware/software environment applications. And you also must have Samsung USB drivers installed in your PC, you can also try all this process on some other PCs

Hello!
Yes, that USB works with other phones. And even not being the original one, it was working to transfer files before this issue...
It is a USB 2.0 port, and even when I go to "Device Manage" on Windows, it doesn't show any port with an unknown device or something like that...
Thanks!

Take battery off, connect the phone to the charger, put the battery and press vol - and power for like 30sec and see if it vibrates, if it does vibrate just press vol up and then connect to odin and see if it gets recognized. If yes just flash stock rom.

Sad to hear about it. Try using "USB Jig". It has worked for the note 3 so hopefully it will work for the note 4 too. It will bring your phone to the download mode. Then you can flash the official firmware for your 910F model. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-USB-J...ng-Galaxy-S4-S3-S2-S-Note-3-2-1-/331298393201

Well I think you just need some other samsung device to use in odin because that file flashes into the SD card and not the phone.
If you read carfuly the instructions you see that you need to enable one option to flash to SD Card that pit file (and the other files wich you need to download)

Thank you, but I already got those files and I couldn't flash them to the sd card, i used an S4, and it just hung when starting T-Flash.
If you can inform me and any other who have the same problem (hard bricked N910F) that will be great.
from what i understood, the method consists of making a bootable sd card using a :
- working phone, SD card, PC
- Odin, the pit file you provided and a bootloader.
I've two questions :
- how can I get the right bootloader file (I've a N910F but i don't know the exact model number BL_N910FXXXXXXXX since i bought my phone from the internet)
- do I need other files than the pit file and bootloader?
Thank you

- Odin, the pit file you provided and a bootloader.
I've two questions :
- how can I get the right bootloader file (I've a N910F but i don't know the exact model number BL_N910FXXXXXXXX since i bought my phone from the internet)
- do I need other files than the pit file and bootloader?
Thank you

It doesnt matters , what is there after n910f .
Flash the latest bootloader available for n910f .
Tsar3000 has recovery firmware for note 4 .
Search for "recovery firmware tsar3000 " on google.
In that file you will get a complete stock firmware (ap , bl , cp ,csc ,pit).
Download it and use the bootloader .
As far as i know , the flashing of those files on sd card , should be done via a functional
note 4 .
There is another method of creating debrick image , a tmobile user has already got one debrick image working .

same problem bro, stuck at the t flash.
did anyone found a solution?
can we post a request to the guys that have a working N910F in the other threads (ROMS for example) so they make an image for our dead N910F.
Hey guys, i successfully created a Debrick.img for note 4 , used my own functional note 4 to create one .

no signs of life (no charging led, nothing on screen) after OTA update

So yesterday I got a notification for an OTA update (I'm on sprint). I am rooted, have xposed, and have twrp installed. Partly because of my stupidity and also just to see what would happen, I clicked download and install now. Now the phone doesn't show any signs of life, even after taking out the battery and trying to drain the capacitors by holding down power then putting the battery back in. Doesn't show up on my computer when plugged in, and doesn't have any power led when charging. I've tried 4 batteries with it (lol I have too many) and they all don't work. They were all charged with external anker chargers. I've tried with the sim card and sd card taken out, too.
So yeah, my phone is dead and I have no idea what to do. I'm pretty sure I'm out of warranty because it's been two years and I've modified it.

You might consider to have a look here if you didn't do it already mate : http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/note-4-debrick-img-t3488114
If you need the debrick.img for the sprint varient, I can give you that.
I thought OTA would not install, if you were rooted and had a custom recovery.

Hey, thanks for the help. I'm not sure how to check if my device is hard bricked? Is it normal for there to be no signs of life at all, not even power LED or vibrations? I can't get my phone to the download mode in order to show up in odin so I'm not sure how I would flash the unbrick file. When I plug my phone into my computer windows says that the device has malfunctioned and I can't find it in the device manager.

It's worth to try it i think. Some users got back their phones to life using this method. @RDChase is offering you a debrick.img for your variant. This method is using sdcard so no worries at the moment with Odin
Similar thing here, Sprint, TWRP, rooted, stock rom one of the early ones v4.4.4?!
Over last couple month it kept trying to update itself at night, very sneaky!!!! I have disabled auto-download and update BUT clearly it found a way around it, bastards!
It was in a reboot loop, extremely hot and buzzing, woke me up in the middle of night, I thought it going to burst in flames like Note 7!
So I pulled the battery out and left it out till morning, but now it no longer powers up, no LED, black screen, PC keeps saying USB drive malfunction and un-recognized, can't put it in recovery or download mode! Odin doesn't detect it also. PC device manager doesn't detect it either! Used volt meter to check both batteries both are fully charged up, but it doesn't show LED charging light?!?
Is there any way to un-brick it?
Again, I repeat phone does not power up and PC doesn't detect it!
Please help, if I can't un-brick it than I have few days until end of year to catch deal on upgrade to LG V20, hopefully it can be un-looked and rooted????
Edit: Just read online there is possibility that Note 8 is coming out either in April or Early August 2017!!!!!!
I need my Note 4 working again and last until new Note 8 comes out!

Will mounting De-Brick.img on sdcard even work if phone doesn't power on or go into download/recovery mode?
Yes. Instead of booting from internal memory, the cpu will boot from the external sdcard. Make sure you prepare it correctly however. The sdcard must be the 32GB+.
Take a look at this.

Is is for the s3, I know... However, it's the same stuff happening.
This works on a soc level, not the bootloader level.

Removed, can't get it back either

:good: Thank you for debrick.img was looking for Sprint one everywhere!
Is it supposed to be 128mb or around 4Gb?
Debrick.img doesn't includes stock Rom, does it? If it does which version?
Next Steps:
1. Copy debrick.img to sdcard?
2. Put in sdcard + battery +press VolDown+Home+Power?
3. USB connect to PC + flash new Rom using Odin?
4. Root again?
Is this correct way to do it?
Has it worked for anyone?

I'm confused, I correctly mounted the image to the sd card and I put it on the phone with a fully charged battery, and tried booting into download mode thru home + volume down + power. it doesn't show anything on screen or any LEDS. it's connected to the computer but it says "usb device malfunctioned". Thanks for your help
I can't get into download mode even with the unbrick sd card in, I mounted it with win32DiskManager and everything. No charging LED or screen or vibration at all.
I installed qualcomm drivers and it shows up as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008"
After some research looks like this is the only method that would solve my issue.. problem is that nobody has released the files needed to do this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/unbrick-samsung-galaxy-note-4-sm-n910w8-t3249970
Edit: Would a USB jig help me?
dead4ngel - to permanently fix it, just Odin the stock firmware
Others - I wasn't clear in how to prepare the SD card.
To prepare it properly you image the SD card with the debrick image file. This has to be on a 32+ GB SD card. (On a Linux machine where your in the folder with debrick-n910p.img is located and your SD card is /dev/sdx the command is dd if=debrick-n910p of=/dev/sdx)
You then put it in your phone, boot to download mode (it may take a few tries), then Odin a stock rom (PH1 or PK1 only) which MUST contain the bootloader
After this you don't need have the SD card be prepared like this, your bootloader will be fixed

:good: Again thanks a lot for debrick.img it worked, you saved my butt!
Here is what I did to make it come alive, it did take couple trial and errors on my part.
Warning DO NOT copy & paste image file directly onto sdcard, it wont work!
Instead use the diskimage win32 software that was mentioned in Debrick thread before.
I used it to unpack and write file from debrick.img onto 16GB sdcard (only one I have) using that little piece of software.
I plugged in sdcard + battery, than pressed power button and phone came back to LIVE:angel:
Now it is back in my original KitKat Rom v4.4.4 still booted from sdcard, I was able to transfer all my documents and photos to my PC, thank God!
Ps screen got very hot again while it tried to run another software update, I killed it with task manager and turned off Data+WiFi radios for now, until I re-Flash from Odin!
Now for next step to flash new ROM using Odin, do I have to flash original KitKat 4.4.4 or Lollipop 5.11 recovery or can I just flash stock Marshmallow 6.11?
Is there stock Sprint+rooted+De-Odexed Marshmallow 6.11 version I can safely flash?
Do I need to root again each new ROM?
pLz i want to update jn lollipop halp me

@RDChase One step forward two steps backward arhh!
Managed to put it into download mode + downloaded Marshmallow PK1
BUT still having issue with malfunctioning USB device "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

How do I fix it?

unistall/reinstall samsung drivers

Samsung S10 + bootloop ERASE FAIL: READ ONLY

Samsung S10 + SM-F975F/DS IMEI stating Taiwan (Update: Very contradicting information if the phone is Snapdragon OR Exynos) if it even matters to solve the issue I dont know
Owner of the above since 2019 without issues; USB debugging mode activated in 2019 and never changed since then.
Samsung always updated which I assume the UI 3 Android got updated in January of my vague memory/recollection (honestly never paid attention of what is being updated, only that the phone needs to be on charge while doing ANY update)
Issue: phone in constant bootloop every 4 minutes with top message in red color "ERASE FAIL: READ ONLY" see photo attached
Cause: happened 4 days ago: Watched video stream on chrome browser; phone froze and applied a 10sec. power shut off (never had to do that before, 1st time)
Investigation:
I tried (found out by doing so) to interrupt the bootloop with pressing Power button and same time Volume Down Button in order to restart it and follow the following commands found on the internet as per UI 3 update:
Recovery Mode as followed does nothing:
Hold the Power button of your device till the power menu pops up and select Power Off. = does not apply as in bootloop
Wait for your device to turn off completely. = it does never turn off completely UNLESS I press Power button and same time Volume Down Button und plug into USB C Data cable of which the charging circle with the lightening strike appears without any percentage % of which photo is attached (phone charge can keep up with its bootloop in order to avoid battery drainage as there is no % indication)
Plug-in a USB-C data cable connected to your PC or USB-C earphones in your device. = I start from here whenever the phone restarts every 4 minutes or whenever I do it manually by pressing the buttons as I described in point 2.
Now, check if your device has a Bixby Button (Such as Galaxy S10/Note10):
Without Bixby Button: Press Volume Up + Power Button for a few seconds.
With Bixby Button: Press Volume Up + Bixby Button + Power Button for a few seconds
After the above steps, you will boot into Recovery mode.
Download Mode as followed does nothing: IT DOES WORK NOW you need to be very fast before the phone starts (recovery mode does not work)
Make sure you have a USB cable connected to the computer
Then press and hold the Volume Down and Bixby buttons at the same time
Continue holding these two buttons down while you insert the USB cable that is connected to the PC
Recovery Mode before update instructions as followed does nothing:
Step 1: Start by turning off your Galaxy S10.
Step 2: After it’s powered down, press and hold Volume Up button and Bixby button (this is the button underneath the volume buttons in case you didn’t know).
Step 3: Without letting go of the Volume Up and Bixby buttons, press and hold the Power button.
Step 4: As soon as your device turns on, let go of the Power button.
Step 5: After you see a blue screen, let go of the remaining two buttons. Now you are in Recovery mode.
Download Mode before update instructions as followed does nothing:
Step 1: Turn off your Galaxy S10.
Step 2: When it’s turned off, press and hold the Volume Down button and Bixby button.
Step 3: Without letting go of the two buttons, press and hold the Power button.
Step 4: You will get into Download Mode.
Have tried all the above methods several times the past 4 days.
Have drained the battery in terms of keeping the phone in bootloop resulting in no power.
Unhooked the battery by means of removing the rear panel and unhooking the battery cable for more then 15minutes and repeat the 4 different methods
Unhooked the mainboard from various connections and put together and repeat the 4 different methods
No indications in Windows 10 Device manager
Questions, doubts and thoughts:
Is it possible in this state to access with ADB of a professional in order to perhaps clear the cache, resolve the issue without having access to recovery mode?
Should I simply try to purchase a new battery even though I never had any battery issues?
I am aware that a motherboard change will resolve it to the cheapest way possible but as I like to save the data such as different accounts this is not an option besides the phone is physically in good condition (never went under water or dropped). maybe to unsolder the flash memory onto a new mainboard as recovery mode might be part of the processor where the RAM is saved.
Any way to drain the entire phone further which may resolve the issue without loosing data. Similar in removing a CMOS battery on a PC mainboard and using a jumper.
Willing to pay and currently living in Europe.
UPDATE: Odin firmware performed by skilled professional member of xda forum, but still not working. EMMC issue which needs to be addressed with ISP in order to fix the issue. unfortunately I was told by local professionals that they do not have the tools for it. Therefor I wonder if someone knows someone who knows someone who can be of help. Location is Spain but Europe would also work.
UPDATE2: Got the phone back from technician who has experience with ISP but still same Error remains as to his conclusion that this is not an Exynos phone of which he has not the hardware tool to fix it and probably no one in Europe will have it.
Thank you very much in advance

According to technician its Qualcomm Snapdragon which can only be fixed with the right tools. Not in europe.
I been getting different information and do require some expertise if someone can please help me
any further advice, input or suggestion?
I also Own Samsung S10+.
its showing the same thing.
tried Flashing Via Odin it failed.
Tried to enter Recovery Mode but also failed to enter recovery mode.
OMG. I thought I was the only one in the world. I sent it yesterday to a data recovery technician to see what they will do since according to some insider in order to recover the data they would have to access the phone and fix the boot of which the problem get solved itself since they can not remove the memory chip itself as it would get ruined. They will diagnose the problem first before they do anything. Obviously a mainboard change would be the easiest but thats not an option.
Was your phone also updated to UI Android 3.0?
How did it happen if I may ask?
I wont give up since my phone is physically totally fine.
Update from a data recovery company its communication:
What we tried to do in order to recover your device's data was to load through the phone's bootloader (in Download Mode) a software agent that allows us (in some cases) to transfer the data stored in the data partition. This software agent has been developed by us together with some of our partners and as we are sure you will understand we cannot give you more details about what this particular software does or how it does it, since this information is covered by professional and business secrecy.
In this case the phone's firmware was damaged to a degree that made it impossible for the information to be accessed with this software.
At this moment, we doubt the data could be recovered by any software available now in the market. That's our opinion, but you can of course send it to other companies to see if they can recover it.
Since I am not the only one anymore with the same issue I recommend for people to come forward in order to get help

I honestly dont know anymore since numerous people said contradicting things.
I am under the impression it is Exynos as of the research of the model SM-G975F/DS
Need to know exactly if it's Snap or not. If it is, then there're 2 options you can try.
1. Ask some one have the same device model as you, do a ROM dump ( you can google for more detail ). Once you got that, I can share with you the tool needed for restore your device from that dump.
2. Try find your device's Factory Images ( similar to Fastboot ROM, but a little different ), and an authenticated prog of your SoC ( this I can share too if you choose this option ) then boot your device into EDL mode by using fastboot2EDL script ( on Git, you can google too ) then use QFIL ( one tool in QPST Tools by Qualcomm ) and force flash the images into the device.
So far as my experience and understanding, there're only these 2 solutions to fix your device ( if it's Snap powered ).
According to the seller: "The phone is Taiwanese version and CPU should be Exynos 9820"
Maybe someone can help me please.. still
If its Exynos powered, then I have no solution for it. Sorry bro!!!

Hi mate, My phone is Snapdragon powered..
My problem is almost similar.. But not exactly.. After almost 2 months I am not able to find a solution.. But after this period of researching and googling about things related to my problem.. I feel now, either any one of the following is the cause of problem:
1. Emmc is stuck or locked in read-only mode `(Can move files from pc , delete already present files anywhere in any directory, but all changes vanish after reboot... all file and directory structure remain intact- moved files from pc gets deleted.. and deleted files which were already present come back after reboot )
2. Corrupted /data and /cache partition, as e2fsck in twrp terminal results shows "filesystem still has errors" and "e2fsck: unable to set superblock flags on /dev/block/mmcblk0p** ) in both these file system (I think they are preventing flashing procedures- Odin stock firmware flashes and twrp custom ROM flashes both are successful, but after reboot no changes can be seen... - Even Recovery.img and boot.img flashes don't seem to work even both are shown successfully flashed in twrp) After reboot current version twrp boots again instead of newly flashed different version recovery.img ... same with boot.img even after running magisk uninstaller zip files.. running uninstall.zip 2nd or 3rd time also shows magisk patched image detected in log which should be removed in 1st iteration itself..
3. Might be magisk is preventing these changes to be made.. or It might be the /System_root creation as mountpoint for system partition which used to be previously /system normally. This might be the superblock creation which not used to be there
My Samsung's twrp and Download Mode seems to be working but no changes made by them even after successful operations by both.
Can you suggest anything? You can look my thread as to get even more detailed overview of what's happening and whatever I'have tried here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...t-not-changing-anything-after-reboot.4462639/
You can see my attachments in my above thread to see my directory structure of system_root and my download mode pictures and odin system ROM flash pictures.
