Custom ROM with no ISSUES - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 General

hi all,
i am running the stock version of SM-900 and want to know if any custom ROM can be applied with no issues? I see issues with lineage OS as some reported that camera is not working. Any tips / advice please? Reason for upgrading is that the tablet is very slow.

For my SM-P900 (v1awifi), I've been using Resurrection Remix OS (RR-N-v5.8.5-20170926-v1awifi-Unofficial) using Android 7.1 2. Device and OS are definitely dated, but otherwise work fine. Rooted with SuperSU Pro, and TWRP recovery. OS Developer Mode options help.
Also AdGuard Premium and Opera Touch both help.
YMMV.

is camera and whatsapp etc working?

Yes. Open Camera from Fdroid works fine. Whstsapp from Google Playstore also works fine.

thanks and faster thank stock firmware?

Yes IMO better response overall. RR ROMs have worked well for for me, but I couple that with some other tweaks mentioned.
Before installing RR ROM, you could just try Developer Mode tweaks for setting animation scale. I use 0.0x (no animation) for the 3 scale settings and that improves response overall.

Do you have issues with the stylus causing the entire tablet to crash and reboot? I've had that issue with Lineage OS.

New Miui 8 Xiaomi.eu Multirom 7.2.9_v8-7.0 for Helium (SD652)

Hahaha, typical. I just yesterday installed Lineage 14 after running xiaomi.eu Marshmallow roms for my MI Max and today they release they new one...
Would be awsome to hear about how these roms compare?
I do like the integration with your MI account on MIUI roms, otherwise...meh, don't feel like I'm missing out on much.
Sure the interface is a bit nice...
But for me batterylife and smoothness are they main features that I'm looking for.
Id love to hear about your experiences with xiaomi.eu roms compared to the lates ASOP Nougat flavors.

I have not tried the lineage rom. Can i just download the rom and gapps and flash through twrp? The instructions seemed critical so did not try it out. Something like do this if your miui version number changes ?
Today i have downloaded and currently using the latest xiaomi.eu rom. It looks stable but lags a little here and there.

Well, I'm running Mi Max Hydrogen 32 GB / 3gb ram version and did the following to flash the unoffical lineageos 14.1
1. Downloaded the hydrogen rom: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B60OA264UF_PMjVQN3A5a2g2MDg - lineage-14.1-20170201-UNOFFICIAL-hydrogen.zip
2. Downloaded the following firmware: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B60OA264UF_PRmZpSGZpa2ZxOHc - firmware-HYDROGEN_MDG-7.1.5.zip
3. Downloaded pico opengapps for arm64 soc - http://opengapps.org/
4. Did a full wipe (except user data) i.e. not factory reset but selected in TWRP 3.0.2.0 the partitions I wanted to format.
5. Flashed the Hydrogen Rom in point 1.
6. Flashed Firmware in point 2.
7. Flashed Pico Gapps in point 3
8. Wiped Cache & Rebooted.
Its still working fine, ofcourse I made sure to backup my sms and other stuff I wanted to keep from before....MIUI backups and cloud services aren't really compatible with Lineage
Can't really say anything about the batterylife, it's decent but the phone hasn't received a decent nights charge since yesterday.
A few things that I did was to ad adway and modify youtube so that I get an adfree experience without exposed.
Also I've moved Gsam to privilaged systemapps in order to have good battery tracking.
I also use Greenify as I did with Miui 8 and have Greenyfied Facebook, Instagram and such apps that tend to hang around. Also I've Frozen the Stock Music player since it was waking the phone a lot from deepsleep. Did it with Titanium backup.

Noted. Thanks will flash tonight.
Is it smooth? Any lags? The new xiaomi.eu nougat rom is the same as marshmallow. Nothing new..
What about the lineage rom.. Does it feel like you are using nougat?
can i dirty flash 7.2.9 over the leaked MIUI 8 Android 7.0 version?
will it still lock my bootloader?

Actually miui nougat from xiaomi.eu doesn't lock bootloader on Mi Max. It locks bootloader only on mi4c, mi4s and mi note pro.

Now I've actually tried both RR 5.8.0 and Lineage unofficial 14.1 and in my opinion RR is definitely much smoother.
Flashed it about an hour ago so battery and sot is unknown.
But as for Linage the battery life is on par with what I got on miui, maybe slightly shorter but didn't test it enough to get conclusive results.
Lineage is smooth as well, smoother then miui but nothing that I was super amazed by. I didn't have the small hangups when you switch apps and such so it was good, totally satisfactory.
RR on the other hand is a clear difference in smoothness. Gonna test it a bit more, if battery holds up then I'm sticking with this rom.

Tested the battery this night and rr is dozing quite well.
0.3 - 0.4% discharge per hour and it's really smooth as well

Upgrading From 6.0.1 ROM to 7.x via TWRP-Best Nougat ROM for the Axon 7?

I haven't been following the Android scene lately, and have been thinking about upgrading to Nougat. I'm running an unlocked bootloaded, TWRP, and a "debloatded + root" ROM based off stock (can't remember which one). When I say "best ROM", to me that's the least problematic ROM. I'd like to have a ROM where the power management doesn't go crazy and force me to reboot in order to not have it auto-kill NPR One every day. I'm aware of the CyanogenMod / LineageOS shakeup, but I'm not clear on if there's a build for the Axon 7, and the state of things. It seems like about enough time has passed to where there would be a few Nougat ROMs out there where all the basic functionality is working (GPS, BlueTooth, etc), but I'm not sure what the good options are.
People running Nougat, do you have any suggestions for ROMs you're using / loving? In the past I've been quite happy with CM-based ROMs, but I'm not adverse to stock or stock-based setups provided they are less buggy than the stock Marshmallow ROM. I prefer to have a rooted device so I can use an adblocking solution if possible.

Well, if you have an A2017U or G, it's best to stick with Marshmallow. B15 (Nougat for the A2017U) is buggy and slow. A2017G doesn't have an official Nougat version for now, so in order to have Nougat you have to flash B15.
If you have chinese model, there's 7.1.1 which works better but some users are experiencing problems with the Google Play Store.
I don't recommend AOSP roms at all, they have many issues like:
Camera (currently it crashes when recording videos and the quality is subpar)
Bluetooth (many incompatibilities with some devices)
Sound (no dolby atmos and only one channel is working so speakers are mono)
Fingerprint sensor is very buggy on some devices
Animations are not as smooth
Sometimes the device will unlock to a black screen or an unresponsive desktop
Can't remember more, but there's more
There's only a few... Check them out.

Stick with MM, it's great. It's fluid, the camera is good enough, the sound is great and the battery life is very good.
7.1.1 is on the way for us A2017U users.

Custom roms problem

Hello,
i tried AICP, aosp extended, aquarios rom and with every rom i have same problem.
The problem is that every rom stutters and animations lag, they are not smooth. Also when im scrolling between home pages it also lags, simply all animations stutter.I see that all people are having great time on these roms and i think im only one who has such problem. Every time i tried clean install ,but problem persists. I have H870 model.
The only rom that is working good is fulmics for me,it is really smooth but i prefer pure android, like aosp extended, and cant use it. What can i do guys about this? thanks
It's not a custom ROM problem. Have you tried this :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71953461&postcount=22
Or upgrading the adreno drivers? (see the thread about new drivers)
Thanks for your reply. The rom itself has already latest gpu drivers (aosp extended rom),but i installed drivers manually and problem is still there. I realised when i change governor in kernel adiutor (for example from interactive to sched) phone works smooth next 15-20 minutes and then stutter starts again.
OK, good. In the thread mentioned above, there are many people who have no lag. Have you tried my other suggestion? Worked for me and many others.
I will flash later aosp extended and try with force gpu, thanks
Reflash Magisk, clear cache. Clear Dalvik-cache
You mean to first remove magisk with its uninstaller, flash it again and then clear cache/dalvik cache?

100% stable custom ROM - does it exist?

Are there any absolutely stable ROMs for Redmi3s? I'm currently using crDroid 7.1.2 with default kernel and still getting crashes sometimes. So far I have used:
stock MIUI - no crashes there but many bugs with connectivity
dev MIUI - better but it's still trash MIUI
Lineage 14 stock kernel - great but occasional crashes
Lineage 14 beacon kernel - more crashes
Lineage 15.1 - occasional crashes, persistent bootloops after some app updates
crDroid - occasional crashes
The crashes I had were black screens (with backlight) and reboot soon after that. They happen only when using the phone, not in a specific application though. I used to have same crashes with graphical glitches but I'm not getting these with stock kernel.
So my other question is how can I debug the crashed cause? Any logging software that would catch the culprit?
I'm looking for a rom that would be 100% stable, I can't have my phone reboot (which takes some time) because of specific application.
Have been using resurrection remix nougat version on my Redmi 3s and faced no issues at all till now.
Crdroid 8.1 by difr. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed with this ROM. All the other ROMS are great! This one was my favorite Oreo rom. I've tried and used almost all the ROMS from XDA for Redmi 3S Prime. Pixel Experience 9.0 is also stable. Now I'm using Arrow OS which works superfine. I switched from Pixel to Arrow Bcz I need more customization.

Thanks! I have seen all these roms in the tread. What i wanted to know was the first hand experience of the people who have used it. If not all, at least few of the above mentioned roms.
i personally love Bootleggers rom......give it a try...
Well, at it's current state, Havoc OS v2.2 is the most stable Pie ROM for our phone, in my opinion. I've just recently flashed it and it's giving me very good battery backup and performance. PUBG seems to work good too (I haven't played the game in high settings as I usually play it in classic setting which works really great).
The sounds are not exactly same as stock but it just works well. The audio output is good too.
The ROM has Pixel 2 Gcam pre-installed and it works good, again. Though for some reason Pixel 3 Gcams aren't working yet in the latest build. So there's that.
There are no major bugs. The only known bugs to me as of now is the Pixel 3 gcam crashing, and the headphone issue during call (the other person can't hear you while calling using headphones).
Havoc : good & stable
1. Liquid Remix latest build (Unofficial though)
2. Havoc OS 2.2
3. Bootleggers ROM latest build.
No major bugs in either of them but Liquid Remix and Bootleggers give the best audio experience ( Almost close to stock ). These are the best stable ROMs right now in my experience. Shuffling between them for almost a month now. Customize more with Magisk modules. Cheers !!
