How to use monitor mode on v530? - LG G Pad X 8.0 Guides, News, & Discussion

So I hit monitor mode and then go to smart view on my galaxy s7 it sees my lg v530 and a screen pops up on my v530 asking to accept the invite. I hit accept and a screen comes up in the blurred background then disappears and both screens close the connect screen on the v530 and the smart view screen on the galaxy s7.
Both are on the same wifi router with no internet connection at the moment. Its screen mirroring I'm after. It shouldnt need to go out to the internet from the galaxy s7 only to come back from the internet to display on the v530. That would be insanely inefficient and just plain stupid. It should just send data over the wifi lan from one device to another.
As far as I've read screen mirroring can and will work with no internet connection exatly how i explained it should work so.... why doesnt it work? What am I missing?

[Q] Unable to send s4 media to Smart TV

Strange Issue this unless I've completely missed something.
On my Galaxy Note 2 I can find a picture or video then press the change player icon and the content will appear on my smart TV (Sony) straight away, no messing around, no fuss.
However on the Galaxy S4 (I9505) I cannot get the same thing to happen, it can't see the TV for some reason, when i press the change player icon I get a message saying "no other nearby devices are connected to the same AP. Connect the device to the network and try again"
I don't understand, my phones and tv etc are all under the same network, the galaxy note 2 works fine but the S4 just won't do it.
Please help

Open up a media file, let's say a picture from your gallery. Tap on the picture to display the menu bar. There should be an Allshare icon on there. Tap on the Allshare icon and within seconds the picture should beam to your Sony SmartTV.
I've used it many times sharing media between my S4 and my Sony SmartTV. Also, it doesn't prompt me at all to choose the Sony TV, just sends to it automatically. Maybe because that's the only device the S4 detected that was in range.
Also, you may want to double check on your settings.
settings>nearby devices>shared contents>
Make sure to read the warning on "File Sharing" if you decide to check that box. It is unchecked by default for your security.

You have described exactly how I currently use it on my note 2, I figured the s4 must have slightly different settings, I had already been in those settings you mentioned, ticked the box, read the warning, made sure all pictures, videos etc were ticked to share but nothing works, sometimes when I go into gallery and select the media to view the 'allshare' icon does not appear or the only device showing is 'current device' (being the S4) It just wont see the TV, my wife can do it on her s2, i can use it with my note 2, but the s4 just won't work!
Any other suggestions guys?
I had the same problem on my Samsung smart TV.
Go to settings on TV and check if S4 is in the allowed list for sharing.
Hope you have not disabled any features on your phone. Restart your TV / phone and try connecting the TV from samsung link app, in earlier phones it was called allshare play.

Thanks for your reply rkadve
It turns out the 'nearby devices' setting does not matter if ticked or not, also the TV settings were not the issue as my TV is set to allow devices, with the S2 and Note 2 they just worked, no settings required just all devices must be on the same network which is why I couldn't understand why the S4 wasn't working.
Anyhow I managed to get it working, after some goggling around I came across a few threads saying how a firewall can sometimes block DLNA, I also found another thread saying to simply reboot the router.
So I done two things, I turned off McAfee for 15 mins, then rebooted my Hub. As soon as the Hub booted up again I noticed windows picked up the S4 on my network so I set it to be allowed. I turned on the firewall again and everything worked, I don't think the firewall was causing the issue, I think a simple reboot of the router fixed this.
The only thing that annoys me now is when viewing media in my gallery when I press the allshare/ change player icon it prompts me to select which device, either current player or TV so each time I have to manually press TV, really petty I know but on the S2 or Note 2 it just beams over to the TV, no prompt needed.
Just glad it works now!

[Q] How to disable wifi notifications

I've disabled the notification on my phone that tells me when I am connected to a wifi network, and when there are open networks available. Unfortunately I still see them regularly on my Samsung Gear Live watch. Is there a way to disable them on the watch also? It's very annoying to be constantly reminded that I am connected to my home network, when I am at home. And to have the bottom third of the watchface covered by the card when I am out-and-about.

Wifi data turns off when screen off // SM-G955U1 S8+

I'm here because I have exhausted all other options beside returning the phone. This thing disconnects from my work's WIFI when the screen is off, but it mantains connection on other WIFI's. This has not happened to me with many other phones I've had while working here, just this one. Phone mantains a connection to WIFI while screen is on, then it shuts off when screen is off. I come home, connect to my home's WIFI and alas, it works screen off. I go to Burger King, no problem. I go the mall, public WIFI, no problem.
I am the sysadmin at my work. What gives?
Already reset the phone, already called Samsung (told me to return it for another one)... I've checked various settings... just want to see if I missed something, because it all points to an issue with my work's WIFI, but why don't I have that issue with any other phone except this one?
I just checked with another person's phone, and it mantained connection screen off. I'm stumped.
8/11/17: Samsung tech indicated to wipe cache. Wiped cache / data, reconnected to wifi at home no problem screen off, came to work and screen off disconnects wifi. Used a Samsung Galaxy Express Prime with no SIM card connected to work's WIFI and no problem screen off, connects beautifully and streams no problem. S8+ screen off simply disconnects from this particular WIFI. Can't receive notifications on any app while connected to work's wifi - again, can connect screen off to other wifi's. I have this other phone that can connect to my work's wifi no problem (as well as others at my workplace). Any advice?
You have WiFi set to always on? or on while charging?
It could be the access point you use at work, an incompatibility with Samsungs Wifi sleep configuration
Hello, thanks for answering!
Well, it's set to always. I have a Samsung Galaxy Express Prime also, and it has absolutely no problem connecting to my work's many AP's and maintaining a connection (I'm currently using it with no SIM card).

How to stop phone from automatically connecting to every xfinity wifi I am near?

I think this issue started happening whenever I got the last big Android update that made my lock screen look more like the new galaxy notes lockscreen. When my wifi is toggled on, it automatically connects to every xfinity wifi Hotspot that I am near. This is extremely frustrating because it interrupts whatever I was doing on my phone and automatically opens the xfinity wifi user login splash page. I have no clue why this happens. This is exclusive to xfinity wifi hotspots and it does not happen with any others I believe. If I can't fix this issue I'm going to have to get rid of this phone because it is the most aggravating smart phone issue I've ever encountered. Model SM-G935V, Android 8.0.

Moto G6 Plus black screen

Hi
my MG6+ got a black screen out of the blue. Pressing the power button did not help. To connect it to a Windows 10 PC does not help - it tells me that the usb connection does not work. What is really strange that the device is somehow alive. It is logged in my wlan. I can ping it. Is there a way to get the data from the phone or do something to get it work.
I tried to use a usb-c to hdmi cable to connect the phone to my tv but nothing has been displayed on the screen.
Thanks for help
What do you mean by out of the blue?
I meant that the phone stopped working (black screen) without any pre-warnings.
What is strange that the phone is logged into my LAN and I can ping it. A network scan also tells me that this is a device from Motorola Mobility LLC, a Lenovo Company.
