lan connection with win7

hey,
until recently i was able to connect to my shared files on my computer running win-XP via wi-fi connection with my magic. i used programs like es explorer and such. after i upgraded to win7 i cannot longer connect via wi-fi. the massage says something like: "smb://..... could not find the server". i checked everything i can: parameters of my router, shared options in win7. driver updates etc.
i gave up, but today i saw somewhere that linux systems have a problem to connect to win7 systems because of a problem with the smb server.
pls, does anyone know how to fix it?
pls if anybody is able to access their windows 7 shares with android' could help me do this?
the strange thing is that i could do this with the win7 but after the first updates of the sys' it stopped working.

Eclipse DDMS & A500

Hey guys, has anyone been able to get DDMS on Eclipse to recognise their A500 tablets?
Been very difficult to get stack traces of crashed apps without it.
P.S. I forgot to mention that this is on a Mac.
Yes, DDMS is working with my A500 on a Mac with Galileo.

androidVNC to webtop

I have the idea that Just as the Ubuntu hacks for android work, we could use androidVNC to connect and view the webtop from the phone without HDMI or the dock, using the phones screen.
Another thing is many of us are using SystemR89's ubuntu hack, with Gnome or LXDE so then all we need is to have tightVNCserver installed as well in the Ubuntu eviroment. Do the steps provided in the above site androlinux.com and trigger that Ubuntu Session to start and then connect on loopback should work.
As I recall ubuntu.sh sets up the soft links or Binds. I don't recall what Booubuntu does but it appears to chroot you to the Ubuntu enviroment for install of the rest of the packages.
I don't think we need to mess with those, they have been done by SystemR89's WebtopMOD. We just need to Chroot to the Ubuntu.disk and give the command "export USER=root" and "vncserver -geometry 1024x800" to start the VNC server Then connect via AndroidVNC.
You'll note that our Phone already has a ubuntu.sh on the root directory. Evidence that moto basically copied the work??? IDK.
I'm looking for some ideas or help from someone who knows ubuntu better then me on how to do this.
I'll hack at it a bit and see if I can get anywhere.
I doubt too many people will find this useful, maybe I'm wrong though. If it would be helpful to you let me know, it will add to my drive to figure it out.

NexusHD2 & Reverse Tether

Hi everyone i'm trying to use the reverse tether app with my NexusHD2 2.4. The app seems legit but the problem is located to the device drivers.
I'm running Windows 7 ultimate x64. Currently my device is recognized as Android Composite ADB interface
Even normal tethering is not connecting and i get a usb fail.
i've read that i need the Remote NDIS based internet sharing device driver to work i was unable to find one working.
Is there anyone solved this problem. If yes please provide the appropriate drivers.
Thanks a lot
p.s. Yes, i really really need usb reverse tethering and no there it to possibility to share through wifi.
I think that unfortunately currently is not possible to do that, but if you use the search maybe you can find some help.
