UPDATE: need 831F BIOS Rom dump --- how to unbrick, Not even turning on........ joy! - Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 Questions & Answers

So finding some info, Ive come across the Intel Platform Flash Tool... And with it some stock firmware for the tablet.
I however made the mistake of using the bios for dvt option, thinking it might show me the x86 bios setup... However no. Its hard bricked the tablet. I cant even turn it on.
Anyone know any way to unbrick it? Heck do i need to make or find some kind of SWD programmer to force upload corrected firmware?
Any advise?

Ok I can fix this, i have found the flash chip that holds the bios, and its easy enough to hack onto and program.
But i need a 831F bios flash dump to copy onto it...
Does anyone know where to find it?

I have a bios .bin file but from lenovo tab s8-50l. It's the same processor, ram, rom and display. Care to try?

Rk918 v1.30 board.. Rk3188 device.. help.. bricked.. need stock firmware!!

Hello everyone,
I recently aquired an android box thats similar looking to the cs918 boxes. Exactly the same outter shell, but apparantly different guts. I opened up the box and noted that it said the board was an rk918 v1.30 board. Im unsure of any firmware that would work with this device. All the other writing on the chips are too small to read.
I flashed cs918 firmware on the device and when i reboot it remains blank. However i can still get into bootloader mode to flash new firmware. So i think im only soft bricked. I just need proper firmware.
I dont know much about the device as it was given to me. And the back only has an 8 gb sticker on it. Its most likely a clone of something. But im bricked.
Can anyone shed some light on my situation?
When i get home i can snap a shot of the board if that would help, however i doubt youll be able to read anything on any of the chips.
Maybe i flashed it wrong? I downloaded a cs918/k-r42 compatable firmware seeing it looked exactly like the one i have and had the same specs with rkbatchtool 1.8.. did a lower format. Didnt make a backup or anything. Its an rk3188 device. Was r.box 3188 gtx or soemthing in the about system.
Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!!

Asus Z300M (Mediatek)

I'm trying to root the brand new model with MediaTek processor (Z300M) but nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions?
I'm surprised there is no root for this ?? I'd love to get rid of all the ASUS bloatware??
any luck?
for any mt8163 devices anywhere?
Damn, hoped by now there would be something... oh well... back to the cave.
Asus ZenPad 10 Z300M (P00C) Android 6.0
Has Anyone had any luck finding a way to unlock the bootloader on a Z300M (P00C) (marshmallow 6.0, Android security patch level 1 December 2016)
I'm trying to root it so I can change the ROM on it to the new Android 7.1 . I've been reading all the post in hear about it, Tried all the intel stuff (no joy) KingRoot doesn't work, Won't pay OneClick.. Came across some dodgy webpage with a program called Autoroot tools V3.0 Which wants you to install some software first before it lets you download the program....... very suspect.. so no. Back to square one No Unlocked Bootloader, no root....... can anyone help ?

Asus have released their bootloader unlock tool, it may be somewhere to start. I'd suggest you check the support section of the asus website for the Z300M. I've downloaded, installed and tried to run however it failed. I've updated the tablet to android 7.0 and made no other modifications, tried on the home WiFi and hotspot through my phone. Failing them two I attempted to reflash 7.0 in the hopes that would help... The tablet doesn't pick up the files. Possibly because it isn't so much an update?
Either way I've become stuck on this whole situation too. It's quite a pain and I don't have the knowledge to start from scratch, I'm not even sure where to start.
Guys, I'm pretty sure you don't need to unlock the bootloader to flash anything to that tablet. The Z300M and the Z380M are basically the same tablet, just with a different screen size. I've had a fully working TWRP custom recovery posted for the Z380M since April. There's also a version of Mediatek Smartphone Flash Tool that lets you flash it without any bootloader unlock. So here's what you need to do, in a nutshell, to build and flash a custom recovery for the Z300M:
Make a scatter file for this device. The partition layout may be the same as the Z380M, in which case you can just use mine (just change the project name). If not, you can build one from the GPT by reading off the first 4 or 5 sectors from the flash ROM with Flash Tool's readback function and converting the LBA addresses to byte addresses.
Take my recovery source code and import the compiled kernel from the Z300M.
Change TWRP's theme layout (e.g. to landscape mode).
Change the model/device names to ones corresponding to the stock names.
Compile and flash it with SP Flash Tool
I'll be glad to help build the scatter file, etc. Just PM me the GPT.
Removed all information due to the wrong process being used.

Firmware install for Huawei Y560

Hello,
So this is pretty straightforward, I need to install a stock (or any working) firmware into a bricked, Huawey Y600 phone, yes y600 the post title is wrong but I can't change it
So to speed things up.
Installing a ROM from the SD is out of the question,
Performing a hard reset is out of the question,
Performing ANY action that involves the screen is out of the question,
because the phone is bricked and only shows a white screen.
This would have been straightforward for a Samsung, or LG, or even a Microsoft phone by using each company's firmware PC program. Huawey phones on the other hand don't have one of those, or if they do it's a pretty well kept company secret, I couldn't find anything like that.
I did find this tool
http://www.androiddevs.net/guide-fl...ols-android-one-devices-micromaxspicekarbonn/
but it didn't work for me, I was getting a scatter file error. I probably did something wrong but the information on these guides was way too limited. At least the phone didn't go totally black or unresponsive.
I also don't know how to do the fastboot method so this could work if someone could help me.
So any help would be nice.
- John
Come on people.
I've tried adb devices, it's not recognized.
Downloaded the drivers from here : http://gsmusbdriver.com/huawei-ascend-y600
they show "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
What else can I try?
For anyone interested I found this flash and it worked
http://uplod.ir/51e5afinjj00/Y600-U...wait_Iran__by_yahoo_id_:_linuxmobile_.rar.htm
I also used SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1352.01 and the driver I found here : https://androidmtk.com/download-huawei-usb-drivers
Case closed. Admin please mark as solved and correct title if possible.

(HELP NEEDED) Onn 8" gen 2, 100011885 no boot

So I didn't happen to back up my scatter or boot.img files when I used fastboot to try and flash the TWRP for the onn 10 inch, I was assuming it would work, but now I'm stuck with no recovery, no fastboot, no system, won't boot up when you hold the power button.
The only method of recovery I have is through MTK preloader and spflash, but I don't have the correct factory images or scatter file required to reflash stock. I've been looking everywhere online and can't find the right recovery files or any guides on how to recover from this.
Any help/files/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Two things, I got access to my old account after a password reset
and, I got my tab back up and running, as well as root & xposed + gravitybox
I'm working on a guide as we speak.
Also, I will be dumping my firmware and adding the 10001885 to the list of stock image dumps on the main onn thread.
Hope this helps if still needing it, scatter file for the 100011885 mt8168 , good luck not responsible for anything lol i still cant get mine to work, anklosburner

Hey, i've had that same issue but have since fixed it by flashing the rom to the 100011886. I used some of the posts here to flash both vbmeta.img and boot.img to gain root, with success https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17LtLtjKg4JJU9EJdIXPsyNjen0H-ilMX?usp=sharing . i eventually went too far and currupted my rom and had a hard time finding the stock ROM. I found the stock ROM to the 100011886 and flashed that to fix the problem, now i run that as my system and it boots up just fine. https://www.mediafire.com/file/107jp6gwbiwq87q/MT8168_ONN_Gen2_100011886.zip/file
fastboot erase super
fastboot flash super super.img
Would you happen to have the preloader bin file for the MT8168? After digging around, you have helped me get closer to bringing my hard brick back to life.

I don't, but this thread may help:
[STOCK] Stock Backups/Images/OTAs
Since these tablets don't have an external online resource for downloading system updates, only a sketchy OTA app (com.adups.fota) I'm collecting a library of OTAs, as well as boot/recovery/system images. I have access to a 10.1 with keyboard...
forum.xda-developers.com
Any rom you come across has to be extracted in order to get any necessary files from it. The thread mentions using 7zip but I've personally had better results extracting using ZArchiver. Also, a workaround I've found very useful when dealing with extraction issues, is removing the extension from the file. If all else fails, you may need to erase the super partition and reflash THAT

Thanks for the response. I'm at the end of that thread currently trying to see what I can find to fix my issue. Aside from buying another one from Walmart and trying to see if I can pull everything from a vanilla tablet, I'm not sure if I'll ever find the exact files.

When my tab crashed on me, flashing the super image solved my issue but it was a different rom. My tab's model number ended in 885 but the super file I flashed came from an 886, it still worked though

I wish I would have waited until I read this today instead of further messing with it yesterday. It looks like everything you have is what I need, but now I am battling trying to get the COM port to stay active when the device is plugged in. I'll tinker with it and see if I can get back to the state I had it in yesterday where it was staying connected.

Would you happen to know/remember all the settings you checked in SP Flash Tool (I assume you used that) when you flashed things to get it working? It seems that my PC is able to communicate with the device again, but I'm unsure of how to proceed next.
Have you installed all of the adb & mtk drivers? If so, you should be able to use adb to reboot into the boot loader then use fast boot to flash the super file

It's hard bricked at the moment unfortunately, so there's no appearance of life to it. Attached picture is the error I get. https://www.gizmoadvices.com/list-sp-flash-tool-error-codes-solution-fix/ appears show info about the error, but it's not something I know how to fix yet.
The only way I can get the tablet to make moves in device manager (which I assume is a sign that the PC can at least partially recognize/see the device) is to click on Download in SPFT, connect tablet to PC via USB cord, and then hold down power button, which led to the error. Errors in SPFT I've received so far are 0xC0060001 and 0xC0060003.
When the tablet is active in the device manager, I assume that the device is in a powered state. However, when the device is grayed out, I assume it's in a powered off state (see other pic). I've yet to find away to actually flash anything to it.

Also, apologies if I'm being a bother, but do you know what version of SPFT you used as well as which DA file?

Bricked ASUS Zenpad10

I have an old Zenpad10 Z300c that's bricked for really long and I'm just trying to revive now.
I don't even remember how it ended up in this situation but for sure it's now stuck in a bootloop.
I can boot it to fastboot but I can't find any image to upload to it on the net...
I've tried using the old Asus Flash tool 1.x and the not so old 2.x but neither of both manage to reset that device. The later doesn't even detect the device and the former seems to always fails trying to read the different zip file I'm feeding him with... :'(
Does anybody have a hint to share on how to get that tablet back to work? Maybe someone with the same device would be kind enough to share a recovery.img file?
...Now that I think about it, I might have bricked it after missing up with the partitions... not entirely sure but I'd be interested in knowing how I can check the partition table (given I just have fastboot available)
Basically... any hint is welcome.
And sorry if it's not the right place to post
