Your post is in the correct forum (Yep - G4 Play; don't understand @strongst's response). Unfortunately, don't have a fix as I would not have followed that procedure. Not saying it was 'wrong' just would have gone a different path. Which variant do you have (eg: X1607)?

It was posted in the wrong forum(g4 plus) until a mod moves it and you see it in the G4 play forum. I reported this thread to move to a different forum earlier...

Try downloading the firmware of your device then use one of the various flashing threads in the device area. (I'll edit w/ some links once I get them)

I did not encounter any problems on two 1607's. Be sure to read up on post unlock procedures if you plan to install TWRP and/or a custom ROM.

You should check if your bootloader can be unlocked, visit the website of Motorola or research in Google. If you bought your phone in Amazon I don´t recomend you to unlock it because you will damage it as I did with mine.
solucion : instala twrp y ponle su rom stock

Is it Possible to Root Samsung Galaxy J7 SM-J727T?

I've been trying all day to root my T-Mobile Galaxy J7 (SM-J727T). I've followed multiple guides. None has worked so far. Some of the guides mention ticking the OEM unlock setting but I can't find this setting under developer section. I have also attempted to use fast boot. Is there a root solution for this Samsung model? Help me someone please!

I'm not I don't even own the device. I'd never buy a boot loader locked device.
You never know you might get lucky flashing the J327T engineering system image.
If it at least flashes and boots then there's a possibility of root.
It's highly unlikely though and the eng boot from the combo firmware would also be needed.

Did you flash 9.0.11 or older? If you flash any newer than 9.0.11, you cannot unlock bootloader.
Hope it helps.

What command, in fastboot, did you type? It should be 'fastboot oem unlock'.
Remember this will wipe all your data on the phone, so make a back up.

Any news of a205u Galaxy A20 bootloader unlock being available?

Any news of the bootloader being able to be unlocked? Does anyone think that with a future OTA even that it's possible Samsung will allow us to check or uncheck the damn oem unlock box since we don't even have this feature as developer mode is engaged!? Love the a20 but damnit haven't had a rooted device in over 2 years. I miss it lol

I believe this is a US Snapdragon variant where the bootloader cannot be unlocked, so you won't get the OEM unlock option.

Hi...
you didnt need to unlock the bootloader on samsung device....cause of this you also didnt have the option in Dev options.
Samsung devices didnt have a bootloader like Xiaomi or Huawai.
There are enough Tutorials in www where the Point "unlock the bootloader" is listet. But thats just bull****
I did modify a cup of Samsung Devices and never had a Option in Dev-Options to unl the Bolo^^ and it works every pretty well.
So your good to go...good luck

The US varient (Snapdragon) has a locked bootloader and can not be unlocked like the Exynos varients can, he will never see the OEM toggle.
You say you have worked on Samsung before, does that include the Note 8 or S8?

The OP has the US snapdragon varient, there is a Japanese Snapdragon varient (I think it's Japan) that is able to unlock the bootloader which is obviously the TWRP you are talking about, but this does not apply to the gentleman here. But please find me a TWRP for this gentlemans model number and then post it here, I'm always happy to be corrected if I am wrong like you suggest, but I think you will find that infact it is you who is wrong bro.
I await the TWRP link.

If you have a look at the thread below you will see how difficult it is to get a rooted custom rom for the OP's varient. There is no mention of TWRP but flashing different combination filmware files. Why would they go to all that trouble if they could just flash TWRP?

OP, if you read this do not try flashing the filmware in the link above as it's reported that devices can randomly brick, it is also no longer being worked on.
