This app will help you access hidden network settings for forcing band selection

After much headache with this issue, I found a method that works where the "Band Selection" menu doesn't work (this method is confirmed working on my Galaxy Note 8). Thanks @fasho:

TL;DR: Get org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo (from an apk mirror as it is no longer available on the play store), and then run ServiceMode as root. Follow the linked instructions further to disable unwanted LTE bands.

Windows 8 is awesome. However it doesn't have the ability to create ad-hoc networks from Network and sharing center. The only way is to use netsh utility from CMD every time you want to start or stop your network. .
So I created a batch file to automate this process. All you have to do is to start it as administrator, follow the instructions and voila!. No need to open cmd again and again
This utility creates an adhoc network. You can use it for streaming Videos and Music or playing LAN games.
For Internet sharing aka Hotspot
Go to Network and Sharing Center –> Change adapter settings
Right click on the device which is connected to internet and select Proerties
Now, open Sharing tab, enable Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection, and then choose the newly created ad-hoc connection from the list
PS. Was wondering if mods can change the topic to "Connec8 - Wifi hotspot utility for windows 8"
Thanks

Anyone tested this on Surface or any other tablet running Windows RT? Would like to know if it works. Thanks
Next update will include ability to save a profile for quick start hotspot without setup

MixRadio for Nokia X2 (For unsupported countries)

Not included in the credits? Please message me and I will edit this post.
*Your phone must be rooted first before you can use MixRadio app in order to bypass country restriction.
1. Download MixRadio.rar and extract it to your phone. Do not open it first.
2. Download Market Enabler by For2w in 1Mobile Market
3. Download Psiphon in 1Mobile Market
4. Open Market Enabler and choose a Carrier and Country (I prefer a US Carrier) and leave it open.
5. Open Psiphon and choose to Tunnel Whole Device. Also, leave the app open.
6. Now open Mixradio App. And uninstall Market Enabler and Psiphon right away.
7. Download Link2SD and open it. Choose the MixRadio app and tap "Actions" and "Convert to System App" - To avoid unwanted uninstallation.
8. Restart
That's it you have a working MixRadio App!!

** This MixRadio.rar was extracted from a Nokia X2 device - not ported or even modified. (Tell me if this works with older Nokia X series)
Works like a charm
One more reason to root my phone. I was looking for a solution to make mixradio works and here it is! Thanks, i will try it as soon as i root the devise.
EDIT: this method worked fine for me, i have uninstalled mixradio from system to be able to install it as user app and finally i can use it without problems. Thanks again
Tnnks, its a great music service. Songs are 32kbps but have good quality. I prefer it over spotify free.
Thanks for sharing. My question is what if my phone boots? Is the mixradio still working?

Problems with other operators s7 verizion

I ve bought s7 in Asia. And i didnt know that its a big problem that it is a verizion version. Now all the time when i travel and changing sim cards i need manualy to add Apn point to use internet and not all people who sell know this details. (Usually when u buy sim and insert it this settings are alrready inside u just have to send message or choose apn point)may be there is some custom rom which will help with it?and the most important problem which i didnt solved yet happened yesterday. In Thailand i ve bought new sim. And to activate 7 days internet need to send code starting from *9 or to check internet balance *900# . But it's not possible to do!!! Because whatever u will type starting from *9 u will get a message something like "forward calling type US number" so yesterday i spent 30 minutes trying to apply this internet. And nothing helped,I also look the code *72 or othet to switch it off. Not working. Im so disapointed with this verizion. I want to get rid of all this codes *9 and in other unlocked galaxy phones i could choose mobile network in settings(lte,gsm) or choose operator. Here it's happening automaticly.help me please,because i cant even use this normal code which starting from *9.. all the time this stupid message with call forwarding

Try flashing the 930U firmware to the phone. It will flash it to the US Unlocked version. If that doesn't help maybe just sell it and get the 930F international version.
All phones I have that are carrier specific you need to enter APN settings manually. APN settings aren't attached to the SIM card, especially if its a prepaid one. I normally get the APN settings online or from the store I bought the SIM card or I know there are a few apps out there with APN databases for countries/carriers
---------- Post added at 04:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:30 AM ----------
You can choose what network to connect to but APN settings are needed for data only, not voice. Under settings > mobile networks > network mode > choose GSM > Manual > then at the bottom you can choose the network operator

[Guide] How-to change your frequency bands (No-root required)

Hey, this has been mentioned before on the forums (https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/how-to/enabling-basebands-mzp-qualcomm-phone-t3684962) as well as in other Qualcomm sections but the links are dead and the author was not responding. So I cleaned up the guide and re-uploaded the proper files because I recently had to do this when I switched my carrier, so here it goes...
I've simplified the download process into one "pack". The pack consists of four propretary file folders that are all required for this process:
MzTool
QPST 2.7
Qcomm USB Drivers
Motorola USB Drivers
Step 1:
Download the "MotorolaPack.7z" and extract to desktop.
Step 2:
Install the Qcomm & Motorola drivers.
Your device manager should look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 3:
Connect your phone to your PC and boot your phone into fastboot mode and select QCOM from the menu.
Step 4:
The phone will boot up as normal.
You're going to want to open 'QPST Configuration'.
You should see your device like this:
Step 5:
Now open up RF NV Manager and in the top left corner of the program hit 'Setting' > 'Comport'
Now go to 'File' > 'Read from phone'
Once it is finished reading, scroll down to line '1877' <-- this is where the phones frequency config is stored
Step 6:
Open MzTool and select desired bands.
Once finished the decimal in the lower right corner is the number you 'Write NV'
LTE Band support
Wish this mzTool had LTE bands as well could have enabled more bands
There is a way but you have to be rooted:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56577252&postcount=455
It's essentially the exact same process (I have not tried) but may need to modify OnePlus patch file
I am looking to use this for my Sharp SH-01J phone, substituting the Motorola drivers for Sharp ones, but I can't seem to get the results.
When installing the Qcomm drivers & restarting, I don't see the entry in DevMgr.
Also, I can't seem to understand how to install the USB Drivers for the Sharp phone either.

SOLUTION TO ESIM DISABLED in Galaxy Fold (SM-F900F)

If our Galaxy Fold phone (SM-F900F) has the Esim option disabled and does not allow adding a second line.
Here we will have the solution. (Factory phone will be restored)

1.- We must go to google play and download the application "Google phone".
2.- Once the application is downloaded we will have to open it and give it permissions.
3.- We will enter the following code: "* # * # 27262826 # * # *"
4.- A menu will be displayed in which it will notify us that we have CSC installed and we can verify that our system is not one of the first but one that has the word (single) (in my case MXO (simple) = Mexico 1 line) . That means the esim is disabled and you only have one phone line (PHYSICAL SIM). (Due to this problem, we do not have the esim option enabled).
5.-We will remove the SIM card from the phone to continue.
6.- Now we will select the csc of the country we want (that does not contain the word "single" because those are the ones that will not have the esim deactivated) (in my case I will select INU which is the csc of Inda and is the first to always update )
7.- We will install it and 3 options will appear, we will select the first (Sales & Network Code Change) and click on OK.
8.- Followed by the phone will restart and everything will be erased.
9.- When you request to activate the phone and select the language we will insert the PHYSICAL SIM card
10.- We will add all the data and start the phone.
When going to the phone settings we will notice that the option to add an Esim is already available. y The available imei 2 will appear.
Ready.
we will have concluded.
Hey i have tried but didn't get the menu. I have android 11.

Tried the XAA which is the USA unlocked. It processed the request, rebooted the phone but did not erase it and esim menu is still locked.
Repeated the procedure and the gui shows XAA as preset for Sales/Net, Net2 code.
