Screen suddenly shut down (or tablet?) - Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi all.
I have this strange issue with my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 plus (YT-X703F): while using it, suddenly the screen goes off. I cannot say that the tablet itself goes off because I still can see some backlight on the screen. It happens a few minutes after I start to use it. Then I keep pushing the power button till it vibrates and restarts. Again a few minutes and goes off.
Sometimes, after I restart by keeping push the power button, it entries into a boot loop.
Already tried a hard reset but didn't help.
If I succeed in power on and I do not use it for a while, when I get it back it works (mean didn't switch off when hidle).
I'm not able to enter into recovery mode, any combination of power +vol up or down didn't show me the menu.
Any idea how to recover this device? Is there any method to flash bios/rom or anything else I can do, something that I can do without to entry into the recover menu?
Thank you everyone for your help.

Start problems in 3.2.1?

Hello xda people!!
After updating to 3.2.1 my 16 GB TF, I discovered having problems when trying to start the tablet in totally off mode, screen gets totally black but the system seems loading in background, after a while, I can push power button and the screen goes on, when I need to unlock screen to start working
I did a factory reset, turn on the tablet, left in standby mode and then, push the power button and nothing happens: screen dark, no matter how many times I pushed the button, so, I need to get pressed, power off and start again...
You're having problems like that because of the update? My tablet is broken and need fix?
I have restarted my tablet tree or four times after updating, bith before and after a factory reset, and haven't experienced this issue. Maybe a power button issue? Or just a SW issue. You could try flashing a custom ROM and see if the bug is still there.
Regards.

Galaxy S4 Turns Itself Off During Boot

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me troubleshoot my Galaxy S4 which turns itself off every time I power it on. Basically, I'll hit the power button and the Samsung logo will pop up with the the lock icon showing that the device has been rooted. Then, after a few seconds the screen will go black at which point I am unable to do anything to it other than pull the battery out and repeat the process. If I wait a few minutes though, I am able to push the power button without having to pull the battery out. In addition, if I attempt to pull the recovery menu up, it will begin to load but as before, the phone will turn itself off before I'm able to do anything useful. At one point I was able to somehow get it to load Android though that may have just been pure luck at work.
I don't believe that my root access is at fault here because I've had it for several months with no trouble to note. Immediately before this happened my power button began acting strangely in the OS. I attempted to factory reset in order to fix this and that's when this problem started. The only other which that I can think of that may have caused this is Safestrap which I uninstalled shortly after the power button began acting up.
Does download mode also reboot? Then it's definetely some hardware malfunction.
By the sound of it it's a malfunctioning power button.
Thanks!

Thanks for the help Lennyz, I was starting to think the same thing myself. I'll have to take it in for repairs.

[Q] turning screen off crashes phone

I have the strangest damn problem on my phone. Sometimes, when I press the power button to turn the screen off, the phone just shuts down completely and then when I try to reboot won't get past my splash screen. When this first happened I couldn't get the phone restarted at all, even by taking the battery out and waiting for over 10 minutes. Everytime I tried booting it would go to the splash screen and then blank back off. It would do this once and then I had to remove and replace the battery just to get it to boot to the splash screen again. I thought this might have something to do with having a custom rom installed (sacs custom), so I played around with the phone and managed to get it in Odin mode. I then brought the phone back to stock. Everything worked so I figured I had fixed it, but then after pressing the power button one time I got back the same problem. It shutdown and would not restart past the splash screen. In retrospect, I think when I pressed the power button the screen did not immediately go off and so I clicked it a couple times in a row before it crashed, that may be what triggers it, b/c sometimes i press the power/screen button and it goes off without incident.
So, now I had the phone back to stock and had the same problem. It turned off and would not boot past the splash screen. By a stroke of good fortune I figured out how to get the phone booting again past the splash screen. When the splash screen came up, I started repeatedly touching and swiping at the phone; drawing little circles tapping at it, etc... When I did this the phone continued to load and boot up normally.
I installed AVG antivirus, to see if maybe there was malware on my phone. Scans showed nothing. I updated all of the software as well. I now have an app installed for turning off the phone instead of using the power button. This of course is not an ideal situtation, why should pressing the power button crash my phone like this??

Phone randomly goes into bootloop

My phone has always worked great for me but today it went into some sort of boot loop where the word "google" appears for a few seconds then disappears then reappears, etc. I can hold down the power button and the volume down button and go into the menu with recovery and bootloader, etc. I can get it to eventually reboot but it happened again a few hours after the first time. Is this a known problem and is there a fix? I have not unlocked it at all since I have had it, thanks for any help.

YT-X703f bootloop

Hi there.
I have a problem with my tab.
It starts only for 15 sec. with the Lenovo picture.
Then it starts again with the same problem.
I can open the recovery menu, but wipe Data does´t work.
after 30 sec. power is off.
There are no canges on the Software.
Still original.
Any Idears?
Did you solve your issue? I was having the same, except it starts every 3 seconds now, and it doesn't even show the lenovo logo any more.
Could you be more specific? What are you doing? What software are you using? etc...

Ah I'm sorry I wasn't clear, I just wanted to say that at first I had the same exact issue described here, but then it started to try to boot (it just gave a slight vibration and the power button lit up) every 3 seconds.
Turns out it wasn't because of my wrong doing: the device is my father's, and he tells me it does this often. The battery doesn't hold charge any more, in fact it turns off at 50%.
Then .... Have you tried to do a factory reset? You can do by pressing volume down and power button simultaneously to enter to recovery mode. Navigate thru the options with volume up and down keys and power to confirm. Search for the "Factory reset" option. This will erase all the data in the main memory of the tablet but not in the SD card.
